Great ambience, great atmosphere and great service! There is no better way to describe the inn. Inside it is a mix of modern and old-fashioned, looks charming and feels comfortable. The food and drink is also great, I can only recommend the homemade lemonade ;)

Pretty cozy restaurant in downtown Ulm, always busy. The service is very friendly and accommodating☺️. There is a wide selection of drinks and food on the menu. The waiting times are reasonable and the food is quite good. I personally thought the burger was great, but unfortunately the fries weren't a hit. But I would come back and try something else☺️.

Unfortunately the second meal was delivered 10 minutes late. That doesn't work at all. Was explained by the high utilization... Barfüßer beer was delicious. Not the salmon tarte flambée.

Highly recommended place to go in Ulm when you're hungry, big or small. The food is very tasty and filling. Price performance ratio is impressive. The service and the ambience are also top. I like to eat there. Any time.

We were at the Barfüsser last weekend with a group of 9 and everyone was satisfied. Great service, delicious food and very good beer. I had a pork knuckle, super crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and very loosely removed from the bone.

The two stars is only for the Beer which was really good. The gentleman who gave us our bill was so rude just because we didn’t tip him. To start off with we were seated in a corner towards the inside of the restaurant, even though there were so many other free tables. We didn’t think much of this at first but the attitude towards the end just reinforced our feeling of racism.

Delicious food. Fast service. Great ambience. The beer tastes really great too. If you are a larger group you should make a reservation.

This is an authentic Swabian restaurant. The choices of food are rich in meat. Not much choice of fish food. The portions are generous, the beer is of great quality.

Last weekend we had dinner with a total of 10 people on Saturday evening. The food, drinks and service were very good. However, when we had already eaten our food in the indoor restaurant, we noticed at the next table a family with children and a dog that was sitting on the chair between the couple and pointing its snout at the table several times. We brought this to the attention of one of their waiters who then spoke to these people in his native language. Smiling looks came back to our table, the dog was banished by the lady behind her back. We paid our bill, we received angry looks and foreign language expressions on the street. Dogs do not belong in a restaurant and certainly not on the chairs at the table. Your service staff should notice this immediately.

Super tasty and hearty food. The home-brewed beers go perfectly with it! The waitresses are very friendly. The dining room is large and bright, located directly on the ground floor and is therefore easily accessible even for guests in wheelchairs.

Very nice restaurant, highly recommended and very tasty

So far I have enjoyed eating there often and very much. Unfortunately the service in Ulm has become so bad that I won't bother with it anymore. Recently I had dinner there with visitors and the same thing was even worse. A young waitress with long blonde hair, sorry but a bit arrogant and snooty and easy to communicate with, is out of place in the job. That's it for me now. We don't have to let a frustrated and unworldly person come to us as a guest. Praise to the kitchen, it tasted great! Addendum after we were there about 10 more visits. The staff has improved a lot and the price-performance ratio is ok. The beers are great. Increase the stars from two to three.

A really great restaurant! Cozy, nice decor, very nice, funny waiters and excellent food. I really liked the restaurant and can only recommend it (especially the tarte flambée).

Very tasty food! Reservations recommended!

To be honest, food is so-so... 80 euros for 2 plates of spaetzle, 1 salad and rock-hard pork knuckle, that's a bit much... What I definitely don't forget are the big green flies that I should always keep away from my plate. Were in July… and not outside but inside the restaurant.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. We recommend the in-house light one - you should try the dark one. Staff friendly and helpful.

The Barfüßer was very well attended on a Sunday lunchtime with bright sunshine and a full terrace. The burgers and the onion roast were very tasty and were served quickly after ordering. Only the spaetzle wasn't quite to my taste. The service was friendly and attentive. The premises were clean and well maintained. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to Ulm.

I have mixed feelings. The beer is really great, but the food is rather disappointing. Pork knuckle - nothing extraordinary, I've eaten much better many times in Germany, Bavarian dumpling disappointing, hard. Spackles with chicken - nothing nice, they would be the same from Lidl. So when I come back, it will only be for a beer - but you can also get it in many other places in Ulm...

Food fine, service not so smooth

Very nice restaurant with delicious home-brewed beer. Nice staff and a beautiful and cozy environment. The food is delicious. Portions just a little too big for us as small eaters.

Sitting there 30min, so many waiters/waitress walking by, nobody is gonna to take orders from us. Everyone says someone else will take care of us. The next table to us was been cared very well. Not sure whether because we are Asian or what. Not a busy day, not so many people. But very bad experience, will never come.

This home brewery has a wide range of good beers and delicious food. You have to decide for yourself, which won't be difficult for you as there is something on offer for every taste. When it comes to beer, there are three tasting glasses for those who are undecided, the contents of which you can decide for yourself. The staff is very attentive and friendly. You will definitely come back.

My husband ate ox cheeks which was good. I was unfortunately disappointed with onion roast/cheese 😞 the expensive component of onion roast is meat, which was simply not good, but the side dish was good.

Rustic and cozy atmosphere. Friendly, attentive and fast service. Good, traditional cuisine - including regional dishes. Tastes good, but a bit mainstream. Good beer. Reservations recommended. Good value for money.

In the city center, we arrived at 8.30pm on Friday and found a place without booking. Professional and friendly service, in a warm and welcoming environment. We tasted the exquisite saddle of beef in dark beer, as well as the traditional ravioli. Excellent craft beers, nice chance to taste different ones to choose from among the proposals.

On the way home we made a stopover in Ulm and ended up at Barfüsser on our evening tour. We were thrilled by the very friendly and attentive service, very tasty food (summer salad, schnitzel plus homemade herb butter - tip from the waiter) and an excellent light beer. The prices are very reasonable for the quality. The brewery is typically rustic and is very centrally located. Dogs are welcome. Clear recommendation! Repetition is by no means excluded.

You can try a wide variety of beers here.There are beer machines dating back to the 1700s in the store. I'm quite impressed.

I ordered a vegan bowl, unfortunately it came with yogurt sauce and the contents were like they came from a package, not fresh at all. I think you can do better :)

Burger was very good because of the Obatzer. Portion was a bit small.

If you want to drink a good beer, this is the place for you. Added to this is the great atmosphere... Unfortunately I have to deduct a star. I'm not at all happy with the new beer glasses. These are available in every restaurant. I would like to have the usual Barfüßer beer mugs again! I only know barefoot people with these jugs and it should stay that way!

Nice place with atmosphere. German cuisine, excellent draft beer of different varieties. You can order a tasting of three local beers. Black beer is beyond praise. Large portions, the schnitzel is simply huge. I highly recommend the Ochsenbäckhen, ox cheeks in red wine sauce. Excellent fast service, attentive and helpful staff. On weekends and high season, it is better to book in advance.

Excellent beer, service and food

We wanted to try German cuisine while we are here on vacation and so we came here. We tried the turkey schnitzel and the Ochsenbäckchen - highly recommend this! The meat was so tender and it was super filling! Would love to come again whenever we visit!

The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and the taste is very Schwäbisch. It's just that the environment is too noisy and my throat hurts after a meal.

Went to the Barfüsser Brewery with 9 people. Everyone really enjoyed it. The house was extremely well attended for a Wednesday. Service was okay and the food was plentiful and good.

After a few years we were back at the Barfüsser. After our last visit, I have to admit that the review back then is no longer up to date. The beer and the service are still excellent and the food, which I thought was rather mixed at the time, has also improved a lot and it was now very clear to us that we would now give it 5 stars. Very quick and easy online reservation. Be sure to reserve. Great location, right next to the “Ulm Rathaus” bus stop. Service was very accommodating and super friendly. No waiting time for drinks or food. Everything comes very quickly. Food was very, very tasty and large portions (large schnitzel is really big). Very child-friendly staff. Conclusion: A restaurant as you wish. As a guest you feel very welcome.

I recommend it to everyone visiting Ulm. A very atmospheric restaurant. Very good food and of course beer 🍺. The menu contains a lot of dishes. I recommend the broth with dumplings and the pork shank with cabbage. A small selection of spirits and drinks.

Delicious food from Germany in this restaurant. I would recommend the ox cheek as it was delicious! Staff were warm and friendly. You have to scan the menu to get an English version which may be a problem for some prospective customers.

Pleasant atmosphere for the size. Without a reservation, we were greeted very friendly in the evening and shown to the table. The service was on the ball and also gave us competent advice on beer! The large mixed salad was enough for two. Our food was good and more than sufficient. The Kaiserschmarren was freshly prepared. We observed that the staff also cared about the guests' dogs and brought everyone a bowl of water👍

Simply unbelievably good, we were here two evenings in a row. About the service: I haven't been to a restaurant that "ran" so perfectly in years. The service was impeccable, the waiters always came by the table with good timing. The staff was always friendly, in a good mood and extremely child-friendly. Here you will find the role model that many should emulate! About the dishes: Simply delicious, the portion sizes are just right, everything is very attractively presented and the taste of all the dishes was simply great. Summarized: We would be happy to come back here and unreservedly recommend a visit!

The ambience is nice, but the price-performance ratio is absolutely not right. Our salad (16€) had no dressing other than oil - they call it house dressing - and we saved massively on the Emmental cheese. The burger was pretty burnt and the bacon was burnt black. Never again!

Unfortunately, the barefoot has worn off. I only know him from Pfullendorf, but the dishes are standardized. The pork knuckle was ok, but the bread dumpling was inedible. Far too hard and compact. Like eating a dumpling of dough. Without any taste. A little more sauce would have helped. The prices have risen enormously. Unfortunately very disappointing.

Wir hatten 2x den Salat Hubertus (knapp 16€), einen Burger mit Pommes und den Falafel-Teller. Beim Burger war das Brötchen sowie der Bacon schwarz verbrannt. Beim Salat war außer Öl kein Dressing dran -genannt Hausdressing- und für den Preis vollkommen mittelmäßig. Der Service war okay, aber auch nicht sonderlich freundlich. Wir hatten reserviert und haben den Tisch an der Bar bekommen: Viele Plätze draußen oder nahe Fenster -wo es deutlich schöner ist- waren frei, aber wir wurden "eng an die Bar gequetscht". Nein nie wieder Barfüßer in Ulm für dieses Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Im Bafüßer isst man immer gut. Das eigene Bier ist auch sehr gut, ich mag am liebsten das Rotgold.

Buona birreria nel centro città. Chiamato per prenotare ma non c'era posto allora ci siamo recati direttamente al ristorante e fortunatamente c'erano due posti alle 18:30. Buono lo stinco anche se non molto saporito. Buone le varie birre. Consigliato

Reservation works great. Unfortunately the last 2 visits weren't particularly good. Mainly the food. The fries were older, hard and inedible. Roast pork was too salty and you couldn't eat the sauce. Either it was older or finished with sauce. Didn't work at all! It's a shame, the food used to be great, but now we're looking for something else

Entgegen manch anderer Bewertungen, können wir nur lobende Worte verlieren. Der Service war gut organisiert, alle super-freundlich und das Essen wirklich klasse. Für einen Sonntagmittag bei bestem Ausflugswetter hielt sich die Wartezeit beim Essen total in Grenzen und alle 7 Personen bekamen ihre Gerichte optisch ansprechend und relativ zeitgleich serviert. Wir kommen gerne wieder und werden die Location sicher auch weiterempfehlen.

Habe der Burger mit Pommes bestellt. Extrem viel Salz in der Pommes und Burger. Es war sehr laut und der Tisch (ins Restaurant nich an die Terrasse) war direkt in die Sonne.

Sehr sehr leckeres Essen, wir waren mit den zwei kleinen da und es hat jeden sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir können die Maultaschen und die Schweinshaxe empfehlen. Der Kellner war sehr lieb und zuvorkommend. Er brachte den Kindern gleich Mall Sachen und er war auch gleich da wenn wir ihn gerufen haben. Wir empfehlen den Laden sehr gerne weiter

Super tolles Restaurant, mit viel Platz. Vom Empfang bis zum Essen kann man nicht meckern. Man sollte auf jeden Fall reservieren. Service sehr aufmerksam und keine lange Wartezeit beim Essen.
