Great brewery. On our next visit on December 5th, 2025, the espresso was very watery. We've also been to the ones in Göppingen, Reutlingen, and Heilbronn. Great team in Ulm.

I really enjoyed the pork knuckle — it was flavorful, though I would have preferred it served with traditional German sauerkraut. The schnitzel was tasty, the portions were generous, and the beer was great. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere overall.

I visited Barfüßer in Ulm and was absolutely thrilled! The service was exceptionally friendly, attentive, quick, and always cheerful. The food was absolutely top-notch: the pork knuckle was a real highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, simply perfect. And the house beer… a dream! Fresh, aromatic, and a perfect match for the food. A visit is definitely worthwhile; I'll definitely be back!

A cute, cozy place that's open all day until midnight. It's very convenient that the restaurant operates without long breaks – unlike many other restaurants in Germany.

Basically everything was great, nice atmosphere, good food. The only reason for the poor rating is that you are forced to leave a tip when paying by card through the terminal.

Shortly after the friendly receptionist tried to seat us, a man approached us, saying no, even though we hadn't made a reservation. No alternative was offered, such as waiting a moment. We weren't offered a seat at the bar or anything else. It was a shame.

I ordered a schnitzel here – unfortunately, it was just okay overall. The taste was alright, but nothing truly impressive. For the price, I would have expected better quality and more attention to detail. The dish was presented without any care, and the flavor was rather bland – not something that would make you say, "I'd gladly go back." It's a shame, because the place is really nicely decorated, and you feel comfortable there at first glance. If the food lived up to the ambiance, it would certainly be a really lovely place to return to.

This was our first time at Barfüsser in Ulm. We were absolutely delighted! 👍🏼 The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. We had Weisswurst, schnitzel with potato salad, and pork knuckle with bread dumplings, gravy, and coleslaw. Everything was delicious. We had absolutely nothing to complain about. Highly recommended! During my trip to Germany, I stayed in Ulm for a night before heading to Munich, and while looking for a restaurant, I stumbled upon this place without much thought. I was completely satisfied. My wife said the beer and Haxen here were the best she'd had on her entire trip. I've been to several cities in Germany, but surprisingly, the beer here was the best. The staff were also very friendly. Now that I'm back from my two-week trip, this is the restaurant I'm most drawn to. I highly recommend it.

We had a family reunion in Ulm from October 3rd to 5th, 2025, and we went to dinner at Barfüßer with 19 people on October 3rd. It was great that we had a long table in a corner to ourselves, which is ideal for a family reunion. The quality of the food is very good and the service is fast and professional. It's good for us that they're open until 1:00 a.m. We'd love to come back again.

The food was really very good, including the dessert – high praise to the kitchen. The service, on the other hand, was unfortunately poor. Our waiter was inattentive from the start. After we ordered our drinks, we said we needed a moment to choose our food. When we were finished, he walked past us several times without acknowledging us. Only when we actively approached him were we even able to order. After that, he stopped paying attention to us. The food was brought and cleared by someone else, and we also had to order dessert from another waiter. In the meantime, our regular waiter checked with all the other tables to see if everything was okay – except for us. Another negative aspect was that the waiter was constantly playing with his equipment, throwing it in the air, and even throwing the debit card into the air. This seems unprofessional and doesn't make a good impression. It's a shame, because the food was excellent – ​​but the service significantly tarnished the positive overall impression.

My mother (60) and I (f, 35) were there for lunch yesterday, and just as we were about to order dessert, the waitress came over and asked us to move or move on, as two men wanted our seats. Excuse me???? We hadn't even been sitting there for an hour, surrounded by several male guests who had already arrived before us, but we, of all people, were asked to move on?? We had a reservation for the inside area, as you can't reserve a table outside, but upon arrival we asked if we could sit outside given the great weather. Since there were still enough seats available, it was no problem. And yet, after about an hour, we were more or less ushered out. Moving was no longer possible at that point, as it was completely full both inside and outside, so our only option was to leave. We don't understand why we women were asked and not the male guests who were sitting in droves around us and were all already there when we arrived, so it can't have been because we sat too long. The only plausible explanation is that female guests who eat there without male companions are obviously not welcome. This misogynistic restaurant will definitely not see us again.

A modern pub serving home-brewed beer. We were seated without a reservation on Sunday evening with our dogs. The dogs were also given water right away. Without a reservation, there was no room left after 7 p.m. The beers were tasty and the food was okay. The spaetzle could have been a bit hotter. The service was attentive. Due to its size, it's not a quiet place. We liked it.

We went to Barfüßer yesterday. Two women served us. A thin one who took our order and a heavier one who had no idea what she was doing. We ordered three drinks and four meals. Note: I would have understood if the place had been full, but the restaurant was only half full! Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't match. Waiters should be hired instead of temporary staff.

I reserved a table at short notice using the OpenTable app. The reservation was quick and easy. The service was, as always, friendly and reliable. I've eaten at this restaurant several times, and the quality is generally solid. However, I've noticed several times that the dishes are generally very greasy. I've also raised this internally several times, but unfortunately, nothing has changed so far. I also don't think the value for money is quite right. I think there's still room for improvement in terms of taste. That's why I'm giving you 3 out of 5 stars.

I went for lunch on Saturday with my husband and dog. We were very impressed with the atmosphere and the welcoming staff. Three waiters even stopped to say hello to my dog. The food was very good, and the beers were special! I don't speak German, but they explained all the dishes to me in English.

Our meal was incredibly delicious. I especially enjoyed the cucumber and potato salad. It was a bit odd, but the kitchen brought our dessert just two minutes after our main course was served. Either the young man didn't notice the mistake, or he didn't care. He simply placed our Kaiserschmarrn on the table and left. Although the Kaiserschmarrn was cold by the end, it tasted okay. Otherwise, the service was good and friendly. Excellent value for money!

Six of us had a great evening at Barfüßer! Yes, the Barfüßer in Ulm is large, and the seating might be a bit nicer at other restaurants, but the food (we all had the knuckle of pork) was very good, as was the beer... the summer beer was especially delicious. The service is good, but could be a bit more attentive at times. We'll be back at Barfüßer and can definitely recommend it.
