We had a wonderful evening with good food. The knuckle was a dream...crispy crust, tender meat! The service today was outstanding, perfect from A to Z. Waiter Michael was absolutely just in time! Always keeping an eye on the table and knowing after the first order what everyone wanted to drink for the second order. Exemplary! Conclusion! Food top Service top!

I sat at the bar and had to watch the beer being poured. There was a glass of Barfüsser gold with which every beer was topped up. Do you seriously adulterate beer in a brewery? Some of the receipts were not torn off and were hanging from the cash register in the draft beers….

The home-brewed beer is awesome. (dark, naturally cloudy, ...) And great food too. Yummy. The service is also very nice and attentive.

I wanted to write a comment on my 3rd visit here. The decoration, interior and the fact that they make their own beer make the atmosphere attractive. Ideal for a drink with your friends in the evening. Although the food is of fast food quality, you are faced with a relatively high payment. Although I could not find what I expected in terms of price and performance, it may be given a chance due to its central location and being in a popular spot.

SUUUUUPER!!! We drove 500km to visit this location. The ambience, the welcome, everything was perfect. Since we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait at the counter for a moment, but we had a good time there too. The selection of food and drinks is really great. The self-made Barfüsser blond is highly recommended. We had the knuckle with bread dumplings (a huge scoop!) and the roast pork also with bread dumplings. The meat was so wonderfully tender and the crust on the knuckle was fantastically crispy. YUMMY I hope to be able to find or order Barfüsser beer somewhere near us. I just have to drink that again. WELL DONE 👍🏻

The Barfüsser Brewery is the headquarters of the regional brewery. The restaurant is centrally located at Ulm Minster, the ambience is harmonious, the service and food are good. I thought the beer tasting with three beers to choose from was great.

By far one of the best pork schnitzels I have ever eaten. Plus the spaetzle, which taste incredibly good with the sauce. Of course, dessert couldn't be missed, and it was also very good. The ambience is very nice, but also more reminiscent of the typical brewery atmosphere. The service is very friendly and quick. Overall the food and service were very good. Clear recommendation!

We were there spontaneously yesterday and the restaurant was very full, but after a short wait we still got a table for two. The price/performance ratio is absolutely right. The portions are more than fair and everyone at the table is full, regardless of how hungry they are! Parking is available for a fee and free of charge within a 5-10 minute walk.

Everything fit perfectly. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. Definitely come back.

The schnitzel and potato salad were DELICIOUS! Portion very very large! Very nice waiters! I recommend it to everyone :)

All in all it was OK. We were there with a larger group and had to wait a relatively long time for the food. When it came to cashing, it was also a bit of a tough process, as only one service person came to cash and then had problems. Unfortunately the food wasn't anything special but it tasted okay.

outrageous reception! We saw that there were still plenty of free spaces in the store. Asked for a table for 4. We were told if we didn't have a reservation then the place would be full. We then booked a table through Open Table and went back 10 minutes later. We were then very rudely given the table right next to the door. When we asked the staff, we were told that the boss would be informed and would come to us straight away. Nothing happened. Food was okay, but the theater wasn't worth it.

The reservation was available and the service was friendly. But it is very loud inside, so conversation was hardly possible.

Due to the larger size of our group, it was unfortunately not possible to eat at short notice, so we only had drinks. The house beers are good, Chai Latte not so much.

No star deserved!!! We called on a Thursday evening to reserve a table for 4 an hour later. It was stated on the phone that no reservations could be made spontaneously, but that we could come over spontaneously. When we arrived at the Barfüsser, we were told that there were no free seats left without a reservation. Then why don't you say that on the phone? We got there for free. Absolutely incompetent. We probably won't come back.

Barfüßer is a good choice for German cuisine. You will find a good selection for everyone here. However, the vegetarian offering can be expanded. The food is always tasty. There is home-brewed beer. The beer is one of my favorite beers. You can even purchase kegs for private parties. Unfortunately, the service is my only drawback. The food never arrives together. I've been to Barfüsser dozens of times now and often with larger groups. The food has never come in such a way that you could start together as a group.

The best shank in all of Germany. Congratulations also to the staff, kind, quick in service, and thoughtful. Definitely a place to recommend with eyes closed. Correct prices.

The main courses were very good! Unfortunately, dessert was a bit disappointing for the high price. Their own beer is also very tasty!

We were in Ulm for two days and ate there on both days. The quality of the food was very good, the beer was great. We were particularly impressed by the service - impeccable - despite the size of the restaurant! Absolute recommendation!

I tried the most popular their craft blonde beer. It is smooth and tasty. Definitely worth trying

The yeast wheat was good. Ham tarte flambée tastes good, a white version would be interesting with a few herbs on the side, it's not supposed to be pizza. The Kaiserschmarrn was rather weak: little flavor and relatively dry, pre-made?!? Dust off the decorations and add extra sound-absorbing elements in the room would also be appropriate!

Bei mir in der Bowl kamen 3 Knochen raus, nicht sehr appetitlich. Die nette Bedienung hat zwar einen Kaffee als Entschuldigung gebracht aber das Essen konnte ich leider nicht genießen.

The staff has improved a lot and the price-performance ratio is ok. The beers are great. Increase the stars from three to four.

Actually a good shop with delicious beer and food. We came in in the evening and the service unfortunately approached us quite directly several times. Greeting was "there's no more food"... OK, just wanted a drink anyway. I then ordered a special and wanted a beer with it, but he immediately interrupted me with "No" (he probably meant we wanted to order something to eat). He also didn't like the fact that we wanted to order the sample package and said "Great, then our colleagues will be happy again" You immediately feel welcome. Please work somewhere else if you don't want to use your own card. Barfüßer actually has a great concept, but the operation completely ruined it. Too bad!

Ate at Barfüsser on the way through. Experienced an outstanding, super friendly service, even though the restaurant was full inside and out. The food was delicious, as is typical for a brewery. We had knuckle and Swabian plate. The bread dumpling was far from fluffy and the forest mushroom sauce on the Swabian plate was more of a champion sauce. But everything still tasted good. The coleslaw is really perfect.

Wir hatten einen sehr netten Abend mit leckerem Essen und einer sehr netten Bedienung. Obwohl es total voll war, kam das Essen sehr zeitnah. Fas Ambiente ist einfach mega. Sehr zu empfehlen.

If you are in Ulm, you should definitely visit the Barfüsser brewery at least once. The selection of food and drinks is plentiful. The prices are at a medium high level. The service is quick and friendly. There is a bus stop directly in front of the building, so you can also easily travel by public transport. We will be happy to come back.

The food was good, the place was nice. But unfortunately, it took 50 minutes for the waiter to come to us. We were expecting to have desert and at least one more drink after the main dishes, but after taking the first 50 minutes to get to us, we decided against it.

Very authentic restaurant in the heart of Ulm. Rustic dishes are offered in a cozy atmosphere. Beers from the in-house brewery successfully round off the great culinary range. Highly recommended

The number of guests is manageable, but the service is still very stressful. Surprisingly, there were actually quite a few serving spirits in sight. Beer quite decent without any highlights, but the craft beer was delicious. For food: my roast pork was quite okay, the dumpling with it was also suitable for smashing through slices. My wife had the Bierkutscher plate and the meat cake, well, maybe there was meat in it too, we don't know. Overall, a pretty bland mess. The cheese spaetzle wasn't really good for that either. You can go there for a beer or two, but I wouldn't eat there again

Best tarte flambée in the world

Wir haben uns geschäftlich zum Abendessen mit 12 Personen getroffen. Die Zeiten von der Bestellung bis zur Lieferung an den Tisch waren super. Das Essen war nett angerichtet und geschmacklich super. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Incredible Swabian food! I had the schweinehaxe with spätzle (I don’t like knödel) and a weizenbier and everything was fantastic. The haxe is huge, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The spätzle were maybe a touch soft for my taste, but the buttery flavour was very nice. The wheat beer was refreshing and went perfectly with the rest of the meal. Highly recommend for a lovely traditional meal.

Highly recommended to bring visiting families and friends here, we had a great time.

We were guests when the Onkelz had their concert and were pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was very full but there was no waiting time, the service was quick and good, the waitress was very friendly and the food was delicious

Es war ein schöner Abend mit gutem Essen und einer tollen Getränkeauswahl. Leider war der Service total enttäuschend, wir saßen ewig vor leeren Gläsern und Geschirr, es wurde nicht freundlich mit uns umgegangen und die Mitarbeiter wirken leider lustlos und ohne Elan… wir kommen so schnell nicht wieder.

Great ambience, great atmosphere and great service! There is no better way to describe the inn. Inside it is a mix of modern and old-fashioned, looks charming and feels comfortable. The food and drink is also great, I can only recommend the homemade lemonade ;)

Pretty cozy restaurant in downtown Ulm, always busy. The service is very friendly and accommodating☺️. There is a wide selection of drinks and food on the menu. The waiting times are reasonable and the food is quite good. I personally thought the burger was great, but unfortunately the fries weren't a hit. But I would come back and try something else☺️.

The two stars is only for the Beer which was really good. The gentleman who gave us our bill was so rude just because we didn’t tip him. To start off with we were seated in a corner towards the inside of the restaurant, even though there were so many other free tables. We didn’t think much of this at first but the attitude towards the end just reinforced our feeling of racism.

We were at the Barfüsser last weekend with a group of 9 and everyone was satisfied. Great service, delicious food and very good beer. I had a pork knuckle, super crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and very loosely removed from the bone.

Es war zu heiß drinnen, er sollten möglich sein zu offen auch die andere Festers on die andere Seite. Wir haven gefragt aber war night möglich. Schade auch dass es ist nicht möglich zu reservieren für eine Tisch draußen ( in die reservierung ich habe gefragt für draußen. Bier war sehe gut, ich liebe es weil keine helles mag, die Scheinhaxe ist die Bestes des Stadt war echt lecher and also die andere Gerichte waren super..Service bedienung sehr schnell und gut aber am ende wir waren ein bisschen vergessen.

Gute Speisen, klasse Services. So wird es bei dem nächten Ulm Besuch eine Wiederholung

This is an authentic Swabian restaurant. The choices of food are rich in meat. Not much choice of fish food. The portions are generous, the beer is of great quality.

Last weekend we had dinner with a total of 10 people on Saturday evening. The food, drinks and service were very good. However, when we had already eaten our food in the indoor restaurant, we noticed at the next table a family with children and a dog that was sitting on the chair between the couple and pointing its snout at the table several times. We brought this to the attention of one of their waiters who then spoke to these people in his native language. Smiling looks came back to our table, the dog was banished by the lady behind her back. We paid our bill, we received angry looks and foreign language expressions on the street. Dogs do not belong in a restaurant and certainly not on the chairs at the table. Your service staff should notice this immediately.

Super tasty and hearty food. The home-brewed beers go perfectly with it! The waitresses are very friendly. The dining room is large and bright, located directly on the ground floor and is therefore easily accessible even for guests in wheelchairs.

Sehr schönes Ambiente und sehr leckeres Essen. Von Salat über Burger und Flammkuchen gibt es eine große Auswahl. Die Getränke es zudem groß und gut gewählt. Preisleistungs-Verhältnis ist echt gut. Das Lokal ist sehr gut besucht, daher kann ich eine Reservierung vorab empfehlen)

To be honest, food is so-so... 80 euros for 2 plates of spaetzle, 1 salad and rock-hard pork knuckle, that's a bit much... What I definitely don't forget are the big green flies that I should always keep away from my plate. Were in July… and not outside but inside the restaurant.

Wir gehen oft in den Barfüßer in Ulm, aber die Qualität die ich gestern erhalten habe hat mich etwas sprachlos gemacht. Ein Lokal in dem man kein Cordon Bleu auf der Speisekarte hat ist schon etwas suspekt. Zudem man dies von der Karte genommen hat weil zu wenig bestellt. Der Schweizer Wurstsalat hatte die gewohnte Qualität jedoch die Brotscheiben musste ich suchen. Auch unseren geliebten Apfelstrudel hat man von der Karte genommen, obwohl dieser laut Bedienung oft bestellt wurde. Nun ja dann habe ich ein Apfelküchlein mit Nougateis für stolze 8,50 Euro bestellt. Das Nougateis war gespickt mit Nüssen? und das Apfelküchlein war leider nicht identifizierbar. Von Apfel keine Spur und das Ganze schmeckte als ob man es 2x eingefroren und wieder aufgetaut hätte. Wir werden uns denke ich nach einem anderen Lokal für unseren Mädelstalk umsehen. Schade.

die Portion dürfte etwas größer sein, hatte den Hähnchen-Burger mit den Kartoffelspalten für 18,80€ und meine Frau den Alm-Burger mit Pommes. Unsere Tochter Nuggets mit Pommes. Essen war super, aber wie gesagt, entweder etwas günstiger oder die Portionen (etwas) größer... Danke!

The Barfüßer was very well attended on a Sunday lunchtime with bright sunshine and a full terrace. The burgers and the onion roast were very tasty and were served quickly after ordering. Only the spaetzle wasn't quite to my taste. The service was friendly and attentive. The premises were clean and well maintained. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to Ulm.
