I recently visited Barfüßer in Ulm and had a really great evening. I had a salad with strips of beef tenderloin, which was delicious. It was accompanied by their house-brewed Kellerpils, which was refreshing and easy to drink. I was particularly impressed by the service. Even though the place was absolutely packed during the pre-Christmas season, the staff was very friendly and efficient. That's not something you can take for granted when it's so busy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and everything was decorated appropriately for Christmas. You simply feel comfortable there. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable. If I'm ever in Ulm again, I'll definitely stop by.

Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the noise level was pleasant, and conversation was easily possible. Overall, a very family-friendly restaurant in Ulm with excellent service, delicious food, and a relaxed atmosphere. We would gladly return and wholeheartedly recommend Barfüßer.

The service was slow, incredibly inattentive, and at times very unfriendly. I waited 15 minutes for my coffee, the bill never arrived, and the table wasn't cleared even once all evening. The server at the end, when we paid, was extremely unfriendly and in a bad mood. A real shame, as we've had much better experiences before.

The receptionist is completely unsuitable. Absolutely inflexible and unfriendly. We arrived at 5 pm – earlier than planned – and asked if we could still stay. No, our (!) table was occupied. We didn't care which table we were given. So far, so good. When we returned 45 minutes later, at least five of the tables that had been free before were still empty. They would only have needed to rebook two tables. There was a couple ahead of us without a reservation, and she was about to send them away, but a waiter intervened and offered them a table until 7:30 pm. Another table wanted to move to a table with a bench, and a waitress asked the receptionist about it. This request was also flatly dismissed. It's a real shame; they could make significantly more money without this business killer. The food was delicious and plentiful. The potato salad was fantastic, and the cucumber salad was amazing.

On the public holiday (December 25th), our party of four (two adults and two children) visited the Barfüßer Brauhaus. At times, the restaurant was so full that they were only accepting guests with reservations – so making a reservation is highly recommended on public holidays. The menu is traditional German fare, complemented by some interesting specialties. The atmosphere is very warm and rustic, characterized by lots of wood and classic brewery charm. The visible brewing kettles and the opportunity to sample different beers are particularly noteworthy. We ordered children's chicken schnitzel and nuggets with fries, as well as schnitzel and a cordon bleu (filled with ham and Obatzda cheese spread, served with Käsespätzle and onions). Aside from the cordon bleu, whose meat was unfortunately a bit tough, we enjoyed our meals overall. Due to a minor mishap, one dish arrived late, but this was handled very professionally: we were offered a small salad to tide us over. Our server, Laura, was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and service-oriented. The prices are rather high, though: Without appetizers or desserts, but including drinks, we ended up paying almost €100, which I consider significantly above moderate prices. In conclusion: Overall, a lovely brewery with good food, a great atmosphere, and very good service. I would come back – but due to the prices, probably only for special occasions and not regularly.

They have the best beer in the world here!! Certainly not the best food. It's not bad, but nothing special either. And the prices are pretty steep. For lunch, three of us, with side salads and three beers, it came to €66! And all from the lunch menu. That's outrageous. In my opinion, the dinner menu isn't justified even for the central location. The staff, cleanliness, and atmosphere are great, no question. The food, however, isn't consistently good.

I had the "Bierkutscherteller" (a local specialty) and my companion had the schnitzel with fries. The portions were generous and the quality excellent. The house-brewed beer is a real treat. The service was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Anyone visiting Ulm absolutely must visit this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

During my trip to Germany, I stayed in Ulm for a night before heading to Munich, and while looking for a restaurant, I stumbled upon this place without much thought. I was completely satisfied. My wife said the beer and Haxen here were the best she'd had on her entire trip. I've been to several cities in Germany, but surprisingly, the beer here was the best. The staff were also very friendly. Now that I'm back from my two-week trip, this is the restaurant I'm most drawn to. I highly recommend it.

It was great that we had a long table in a corner to ourselves, which is ideal for a family reunion. The quality of the food is very good and the service is fast and professional. It's good for us that they're open until 1:00 a.m. We'd love to come back again.

The food was really very good, including the dessert – high praise to the kitchen. The service, on the other hand, was unfortunately poor. Our waiter was inattentive from the start. After we ordered our drinks, we said we needed a moment to choose our food. When we were finished, he walked past us several times without acknowledging us. Only when we actively approached him were we even able to order. After that, he stopped paying attention to us. The food was brought and cleared by someone else, and we also had to order dessert from another waiter. In the meantime, our regular waiter checked with all the other tables to see if everything was okay – except for us. Another negative aspect was that the waiter was constantly playing with his equipment, throwing it in the air, and even throwing the debit card into the air. This seems unprofessional and doesn't make a good impression. It's a shame, because the food was excellent – ​​but the service significantly tarnished the positive overall impression.

My mother (60) and I (f, 35) were there for lunch yesterday, and just as we were about to order dessert, the waitress came over and asked us to move or move on, as two men wanted our seats. We had a reservation for the inside area, as you can't reserve a table outside, but upon arrival we asked if we could sit outside given the great weather. Since there were still enough seats available, it was no problem. And yet, after about an hour, we were more or less ushered out. Moving was no longer possible at that point, as it was completely full both inside and outside, so our only option was to leave. We don't understand why we women were asked and not the male guests who were sitting in droves around us and were all already there when we arrived, so it can't have been because we sat too long. The only plausible explanation is that female guests who eat there without male companions are obviously not welcome. This misogynistic restaurant will definitely not see us again.

Without a reservation, there was no room left after 7 p.m. The beers were tasty and the food was okay. The spaetzle could have been a bit hotter. The service was attentive.
