Absolutely super expensive, but exclusive spot with possibly the best view over the city. Great outdoor area and lovely artisan cocktails for people who know what they want.

The friendliest waiters I've encountered in a long time! They were incredibly busy, but they were still super attentive, friendly, and quick! The food and wine were excellent, and so was the view. A definite recommendation!

A very nice restaurant with a stunning view. However, the service is incomparably poor. Despite having a reservation, we were ignored at reception. Our grandmother, who had brought her with us, had to order in English, and glasses were shoved onto the table. Completely unfriendly, and at prices that put even good restaurants to shame. Unfortunately, many dishes were no longer available, so we decided to review the standard menu, and that unfortunately wasn't good. The oysters tasted stale and the pasta was cold. A real shame, and the service was still there, which was good but unfortunately couldn't compensate for the rest of the menu.

I've lived in Berlin for twenty years – Baret is without a doubt one of my top three worst restaurant visits. Baret is a restaurant with a great view and high prices. So, one can assume that the service and quality at least partially live up to this expectation. But as soon as we arrived, the waiter made it clear he'd rather be somewhere else. An annoyed tone, an annoyed look – this continued throughout the entire visit. Of the ten or so main courses on the menu, at least half were unavailable "due to delivery problems." So we had to resort to more expensive alternatives. The puttanesca (€24) came with bacon that was neither cooked nor cooked through – instead, coarsely chopped, semi-raw pieces of fat. The duck breast (€41 – no side dish, just a tiny dollop of red cabbage) was also almost raw, the skin barely seared, the fat chewy and inedible. When we asked for a steak knife, we received an eye roll: No, they didn't have any steak knives (although entrecôte is listed on the menu for €50), but the kitchen could "cut" the meat. My 86-year-old father needed some time to decide – this too was met with a pointed exit from the waiter. When my friend later brought the two plates to the counter herself and explained that the meat was very tough, the snippy reply came: "Yes, that's exactly why I offered to have it cut in the kitchen." This "cutting" took a noticeably long time. We finally asked if there had been a misunderstanding. The waiter responded to our friendly inquiry with an annoyed "The food is on its way – how am I supposed to know what's going on in the kitchen?" And all this at lunchtime, mind you, with the dining room half-empty. Overpriced, poor quality – both in terms of food and service. I'm only mentioning for the sake of completeness that the waiter's underwear was hanging halfway out of his pants the entire time. An outrage.

Very unfortunate experience. They had delivery problems so a lot of dishes were not available. We had not much choices but to order more expensive dishes. A 40€ duck breast turned out to be undercooked, with only a bit of red cabbage as a side, without starch. The waiter was very irritated. We were disappointed by the lack of choices but he was offended somehow. The rest of the service was affected. Thankfully they charged one duck less in the bill because of the food quality and argument. All in all, I wish we would have just paid the three euro entrance fee for the rooftop terrace and had lunch somewhere else with a better quality and service.

The food and location are good, but waiting over an hour for the main course is unacceptable. We received no notice that there was a delay and weren't offered a snack to compensate for the long wait. Please do better!!!

The service was friendly and quick. We had herring fillet and a hamburger. Both dishes came with a very overcooked bread roll. We didn't like it at all. It's a good thing the portions were very small.

After enjoying the fantastic view from the rooftop terrace several times, we finally went to eat at Baret. We had the duck breast, halibut, and tagliatelle. We also ordered various appetizers. The food was excellent. However, neither the duck nor the halibut came with a carbohydrate side dish. However, you can order a large portion of fries separately. Unfortunately, the service was completely disastrous. This started with the bottle of Crémant being split between three glasses to save on the champagne cooler. The appetizers were simply served with the main course, which the waiter justified by saying that we hadn't mentioned that we wanted them beforehand. One appetizer was completely forgotten. The fries arrived a quarter of an hour later. It was also worth checking the bill, because the unserved appetizer and a glass of sparkling wine, which we neither ordered nor drank, were added to the bill. All in all, we had a total bill of €371 for five people. The location is exceptional, but expectations and reality are very different here. At the end, we were asked if we could give the tip in cash, as otherwise it wouldn't reach the service staff. It was very helpful to speak English, as German was only rudimentarily understood. But oh well...

The view from the terrace is fantastic and absolutely worth seeing, but I wouldn't recommend the café/restaurant. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. After the initial order, it was difficult to get attention for a second round of drinks or to pay. Our server seemed very distracted and asked for cash instead of card, giving a strange explanation (because he ordered a signature drink?). Positive: We were seated quickly without a reservation, and the drinks were fine.

My experience at Baret wasn't what I expected. To order drinks, you have to go straight up, and it took a very long time to be served. While I was ordering, the head waitress was not at all friendly to the girls, which seemed very inappropriate in front of the crowd. Nevertheless, the restaurant has a nice view.

The best part is the fantastic view; definitely make a reservation! The cappuccino was delicious, but there were some technical issues with the card payment. Definitely a highlight for visitors to Berlin.

Only the view saves a star Despite having reserved for sunset, we were given a table inside! Exactly what we wanted to avoid. The reception was disinterested and completely unprofessional. Instead of finding a solution, we were simply told we could order drinks outside and stand. No concession, no effort. Plus, we had to wait over 30 minutes for drinks, with no apology. Shameful for a restaurant in this price range – only the perfect view prevents the absolute zero.

Very good but a little expensive But the view is amazing

Beautiful view and a great setting for a party. We were there for a birthday, and the best parts were the music, the view, and the Cuba Libre with the homemade cola. The service was nice but overwhelmed – sometimes we waited 30 minutes for drinks, drinks were forgotten, and perhaps the recipe for some drinks should be reconsidered. Unfortunately, the restrooms didn't live up to what you'd expect from such a venue (cleanliness).

Unique view over Berlin, high-quality food, very attentive and friendly staff

We were there the day before yesterday on Saturday evening, and it was really nice! Good cocktails and, of course, the stunning view from the rooftop over Berlin, music, and incredibly friendly staff, humorous and always welcoming, even though it was very crowded and at times hectic... for us, it was a fantastically relaxed evening! We'd love to come back for DJ Thursday 🤩

Great view but that's it. And don't order anything to eat! It tastes super bland + is super expensive for no reason at all. Specially the Ceviche - they have no idea what a ceviche even is!

What a disappointment... Cheese plate €26 -> 3 small pieces & 1 slice of bread (see picture) The other was burrata with cucumber, cold tomato soup, and bread with spread. The quality and quantity of the food were catastrophic. Far too few untrained staff, waited an hour for food, waited 1.5 hours for drinks, even though we ordered at the same time. The only thing nice to watch was the sunset.

The Baret in the Humboldt Forum boasts breathtaking views over Berlin—definitely a place you should experience at least once. The ambiance is modern and pleasant, and the music outside creates a lovely atmosphere. Sure, there are a lot of tourists around, but that suits the location. The ordering system works via stations, not at the table—so be sure to listen to how it's done. It worked well, though, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was really very good overall: the fusilioni with pesto and zucchini were particularly impressive, as were the appetizers, which are highly recommended. I'd also like to highlight the sourdough bread. The cocktails were unfortunately less impressive. The Gin Basil for €16 came without fresh basil—at that price, you'd expect a bit more care. On the other hand, the Crémant and Pinot Noir were good choices. The vegetarian selection is somewhat limited; there's still room for improvement. What was really annoying: The shift manager loudly criticized the staff in front of the guests – unpleasant to hear, especially since the team was otherwise doing a great job. This kind of thing should be handled more professionally and not in front of the guests. Overall, a worthwhile visit with great food and a view – but not without its drawbacks.

The Baret is perfectly located near the Berlin Cathedral and has one of the few rooftop terraces available. The view from there is truly fantastic. To get up, you need a reservation, which you have to show at the elevator. There are indoor and outdoor seating options, although I found the outdoor area rather poorly designed for a high-priced restaurant: no decorations, no comfortable cushions or even lounge sofas, and no parasols either. So we sat inside; the ambiance is much better there, although a little decoration on the tables would have been worth the investment. The nuts and olives, as well as the focaccia and deviled eggs, were very good. The service was friendly. A great spot for a drink or coffee and cake while enjoying the view, but I wouldn't necessarily plan on having dinner there.

Unfortunately, it's not suitable for a quick stopover, as bookings can only be made online with your name, email address, and phone number. 😕. Otherwise, there's a €3 elevator fee.

First of all this is the place where I personally paid the highest price for a Negroni, which was not awesome either. Second, what was even worst is that it is even so hard to simply order, every waitress or bartender addresses you to order from X point. You can choose checking their online menu, the navigation is one of the worst. In the end I just had to go to their “order station” and basically tell what I want. Overall, bad experience. View is nice but it is not related to the restaurant/bar itself. I won’t go there again.

Unfortunately, we found the price-performance ratio poor, or rather unjustified. There was no side dish with the fish. We were recommended to order sourdough bread to fill us up...The service still has potential for improvement.

A very nice, stylish restaurant on the roof terrace with a view of Museum Island. The service is attentive, the ambiance is upscale. The food is amazing, the menu is short and changes frequently. It's a great place to sit outside and end the evening; on weekends, there's even a DJ playing right on the terrace. You should definitely take a stroll on the terrace; the view of Museum Island is so beautiful 🙂

Unfortunately, the food was poor value for money. We barely finished our fill, even with the appetizer! The portions are really very small, and too expensive for that. Only the ambiance and, above all, the priceless view from the roof terrace make up for it. Next time, eat somewhere else and just enjoy the view with drinks.

Humboldts Forum is a very popular Berlin location. Despite the not-so-great weather, we enjoyed the view from the terrace. But dinner at the Baret restaurant was a very poor experience! There isn't much food selection at all. We ordered two bottles of mineral water (still/sparkling) and received tap water in bottles with the caps open.

Very good atmosphere but one guy who is a waiter or a manager something is the worst human being I have ever seen this guy thinks he is the customer and we are his servents hope you get fired and than this would be a better place.

George gave a very nice service, thank you very much. Always a very smily face and very helpful. He always made us laught.

The view is priceless. Self-service outside, despite a reservation and high prices. Prices are overpriced for the quality of the food. Pasta was cold!

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff were rude and uninspired to find our reservation. We then had to go and order our own food, which I find impossible at such prices. The cashier also immediately asked me to tip. The portions were very small and nothing special. An extra piece of bread? No way. You had to order and pay for the rest yourself. Unfortunately, we weren't at all satisfied... what a pity!

The Humboldt Forum is great... The view from the roof terrace is also great, worth seeing, so to speak. Regarding the bar, I | we are very divided. So, not between us. The atmosphere is very relaxed... too relaxed for our liking. The same goes for the service. The food was very good, although we weren't expecting it. But the overall package was too expensive. I would go again, if only for the view and the roof terrace. But then "only" a piece of cake and a coffee.

The restaurant's greatest asset is the view – that's undeniable. But add to that the excellent service and outstanding food quality. It's worth taking advantage of and enjoying this experience.

Unfortunately, we can't recommend Baret. We reserved a table on recommendation, partly because of the beautiful roof terrace in the Humboldt Forum, which offers a truly impressive view of Berlin. Apart from that, both the food and the atmosphere were uninviting. The music was relatively loud, making conversation difficult; the music genre: rock and, quite incomprehensibly, the Scorpions. Perhaps not quite the right choice for a meal. Both pasta dishes were disappointing: the fusilloni and the ravioli alla norma. Both were very "saucy," the ravioli swimming in a rather greasy tomato sauce. According to the menu, the fusilloni was supposed to be served with roasted zucchini: the plate contained three tiny slices of dark zucchini. The ravioli had no discernible "norma" flavor: neither eggplant nor ricotta were detectable. After eating the pasta, a considerable amount of sauce remained in the plate – a bit of bread would have been nice here. The service was friendly, but at times seemed a bit indifferent, and some of the clothing was stained and unkempt. The cleanliness of the restaurant itself wasn't impressive either. Perhaps we were just having a bad day; that happens even in the best restaurants. But here it was noticeable – and the food, at over €20 for a small pasta dish, is far too overpriced, and the rooftop terrace doesn't make up for it. You'd be better off at the Italian restaurant around the corner, even on a bad day.

The view is absolutely amazing - such a beautiful place to see the sunset. But the prices are steep. I paid 17 euros for four tiny pieces of focaccia that were a bit stale and served on a piece of paper. You have to order at the counter and grab your own utensils, which feels a bit off for what they’re charging. It’s a bummer that such a stunning spot ends up feeling overpriced.

Cake costs 7 euros, and the cheesecake is also a bit burnt, which is definitely too much for me. Two drinks and two cakes cost 26 euros!

We've recently had an event at Baret and had a superb experience. The founder was so kind as to get involved to make sure everything works out smoothly, the staff was incredibly helpful and nice, not to mention the incredible food & views in the evening sun. I don't think there's a better place if you seek an exclusive venue at the very centre of Berlin that's simultaneously laid-back and so welcoming. Thanks so much again!

The view and location are truly stunning—right in the center, overlooking Berlin Cathedral. Unfortunately, the drinks couldn't live up to that. The martini tasted like vodka with lemon, and although the menu listed a piña colada, we were served something completely different, which didn't taste great. For the prices, we definitely expected more.

Amazing view, and good cocktails

We ordered deviled eggs, coffee, and water shortly before noon on Sunday and sat on the roof terrace. The waitress brought the coffee and water. When we simply asked if she would bring the eggs separately, we were told not to sit at McDonald's, as the eggs would take time to cook. The grumpy waitress was unwittingly right, because at McDonald's, guests are treated more kindly and respectfully. Very disappointed with the restaurant...!

Baret has a beautiful view, you will see beautiful sunset in the city center, however before planning to go there keep in mind 3 things: 1- seats on terrace even if you have reservation is not guaranteed.2- it is self service and if you are sitting outside every time you want to order you have to queue in. 3-the terrace is not the suitable place if you have special occasions, like birthday or inviting people for dinner, because the service can’t guaranteed anything. I am writing that because we planned birthday dinner there, i booked 3 days before and i called to ask about all information, non of information above was clear communicated, also i asked if they offer cakes and it was not communicated that cake is only untill 6:00 p.m. although the service lady was trying her best to make it up for us, but in general it was very chaotic and also comparing to the service you get it was pricey. I would go there again but not for dinner and only for a cup of coffee or drink. I am writing that because i believe the service should be better organized and improved.

Rooftop bar and terrace at level 4 above Humboldt forum with a new view over Berliner Dom and surroundings. Definitely worth visiting as there are not many rooftops in Berlin. Had a nice sunday afternoon at the bar, the sunset is amazing. I asked the bartender to propose some funky wines and tasted red, white and orange - very good recommendations, friendly staff. Service can be a bit slow sometimes, as it can become very busy.

The cheese platter for €19 is an absolute joke. The view is great, and the waiter is attentive.

An absolute insider tip, which of course isn't an insider tip anymore. Fantastic view of all of Berlin. Cocktails in top cafés, outstanding cakes, and the food, too. Unfortunately, I didn't try it, but I recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there yet, because it's a special sight to see this beautiful part of Berlin from above.

Tourist trap! You pay for the view, not the food. €19 for a small plate of pasta with green pesto. The taste was bland, and unfortunately, our meals (three guests) weren't served at the same time. The cake wasn't anything special either. We ordered coffee with it, but it didn't arrive until after we'd already finished the cake. The timing and the disappointing culinary skills of the kitchen leave a lot of room for improvement. This place isn't for foodies. Tourists with less discerning tastes will surely be impressed by the rather average Berlin cafe atmosphere.

Five of us went to Baret for a late lunch on a Sunday. The weather was fine, so we opted for an indoor seating area. Unfortunately, the service was completely disorganized and at times overwhelmed. Our waiter, who was apparently in charge that day, did his best but had difficulty managing the unfortunately largely untrained staff. Fortunately, everything that came out of the kitchen was excellent and arrived almost simultaneously. The panoramic view of Berlin makes up for a lot. We'll be back!

The menu is very straightforward, with one side dedicated to snacks and the other to small dishes, some of which were surprisingly good. The portion sizes are rather small; I recommend ordering several of the dishes and sharing them like tapas. The service is friendly and attentive, but overwhelmed. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is the opposite of cozy; the tables are very close together, reminiscent of an upscale cafeteria. The music was a bit too loud for my liking. The highlight of the restaurant is the very spacious roof terrace and the view that comes with it. When the weather is good, it's a truly top-notch location and a lot of fun.

Really happy with this place! Hands down the best Weinschorle I’ve had in a long time in Berlin. I ordered olives expecting the usual boring Kalamata, but to my surprise, I got delicious Cerignola instead – what a treat! And the view? Absolutely stunning – a panoramic view over Berlin. I didn’t order any food, so I can’t say anything about that, but I suspect it’s just as good.

Absolute disaster! Staff urgently need to be trained or replaced in the area of "compliant customer service." I wasn't expecting this.

Upscale restaurant, but behind the polished façade lies a surprisingly underwhelming experience. Despite the grand setting, the lunch menu is quite basic. It starts with just getting there, which is stressful and feels like navigating an exclusive nightclub: elevator attendants insist on seeing your reservation before letting you ascend. Even as you step into the restaurant, you're met not with elegance but with a chaotic entrance cluttered with random items. More backstage than fine dining. Once seated (tucked away around a corner, far from the staff’s line of sight), we quickly felt forgotten. The food? Decent, but not memorable, certainly not enough to redeem the hassle. What should have been a leisurely, refined experience felt more like a logistical ordeal with an overpriced bill at the end.

Never had such a bad customer service. First time we reserved a table, when we came to the entrance security guard didn’t let us in saying that the whole bar is booked for the private party. While booking this table, there was no info about that and nobody notified us. Just waste of time. After 2 days we had another reservation, this time we managed to enter it but the bar was also booked someone else, regular guest was sitting in the small room, tables was close to each other and we got disturbed by staff to stand up and move our table to the middle by OURSELFS

This is a hidden gem in Berlin and one of my favourite rooftops. The view is amazing and the terrace is huge.

Security said that entry is by reservation only! When we reserved a time, security said that the reservation is not working🤦‍♂️ Sort out the concept there, gentlemen

The food isn't good enough to justify the high prices. The waiters are uncoordinated and inattentive.

It's a good place to get a good view of the Berlin skyline. They aren't the best because the view is somewhat limited, but it has a nice terrace for a drink and enjoying the music while sunbathing. Bring sunscreen or a hat if you go in the summer, it can be too hot. Good cocktails, but the menu is limited but okay. I don't know about the food; we only nibbled on some olives. It's one of the cheapest rooftop terraces to visit in Berlin.

Beautiful restaurant above Berlin's Humboldt Building. On the top floor, taking the elevator up, there's a terrace where you can see the city's main iconic buildings. Right there, there's an elegant restaurant. It has a glass-enclosed, air-conditioned area with views of the city, and another area with outdoor seating for the full experience. Apart from that, the service is fast, the food is good, and the drinks are refreshing. Unforgettable!

I am absolutely dismayed. We (two girls) wanted to have a lovely evening with good food and a great view. In summary: the strategy here is like a snack bar. You have to go to a counter with your table number and order your food there. We ordered a three-course meal with wine and water. The wine, water and dessert arrived after five minutes. Our starter came 20 minutes later. Average, boring and, to top it all off, with hair in the food. Luckily, the staff pointed out to us before we ordered a lot of things we shouldn't have ordered in the first place because they didn't taste good. Completely overpriced for what is essentially cafeteria food and zero service. The waiters were nice but completely disorganized. Sorry, but never again! Absolutely not to be recommended. I am truly speechless that such a great location can offer something like this. Hopefully the lease with Mr. A. Schuller doesn't run too long so that someone adequate and professional can take over the catering. 1 star therefore for honest and friendly service and the great view.

The place is nice with a great view, customer service is really nice as well, the food is very good but the prices should be revised, they are a bit expensive, although i understand you're paying for the view and mostly they sell drinks. Overall the place is very nice.

It’s a great place with a very special service which you can rarely find in Berlin. From the first glance it’s just a fancy rooftop bar with a lot of well dressed people and nice music, but 1) cocktails are amazing 2) people who are working there are SUPER friendly! Special thanks to George and Juan who didn’t leave us hungry even though the kitchen was closed. This is so much appreciated! We will be back for sure! Highly recommended!

IWe booked a table outside for a Saturday night for dinner, when we were placed at our table, we were informed that the table doesn’t have a number (what’s the problem to assign it?), the hostess told us when we order, we should tell the number of the table next to us. To order, we needed to go to the counter and stand in the line for 7min, where they also gave us cutlery, so basically it was self-service, I did expect much more from this place looking at the reviews. Then since there’s no proper table number, the waitresses were confused every time where they should bring our food and drinks. We ordered for an appetiser a salad and specified that it was to share, but we were’t offered additional plates. The food was okay and the drinks were too, but the service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced in such places.

The view was beautiful. Thet didn't have lactose free milk for coffee. And the service in general was a bit messy

Very nice interior design with magnificent views over Berlin

Located on the roof of the City Palace, Baret is, in short, a place to relax. Great views, good food—what more could you want?

There is a security that you need to wait to put you on the table - even thought half of restaurant is free, and when he cames - you can sit wherever you want 🤣 Thank you wait waiter 20-30min, trying to call any of them - they pretend not to hear and than they move responsibility to another colleague. After he came he startet to make some stupid and rude jokes, and just took the order without offering or explaining anything - because we were there first time and we asked what should we try. After drinking that drink, we were waiting another 15-20min that someone come so that we can pay, ended up - we’re staying next to the shank , colleagues are changing but none wants to take money, beside the guy who took order ( ok ) . Prices are high - on glass of our drink was 16€, it was tasteless none of us 3 didn’t drink it completely. Summa Summarum - View is very nice, interior also, but stuff is totally unexperienced - They need professionals.

The view over Berlin is fantastic. It's actually a location with a lot of potential, especially in the summer for a drink on the truly wonderful and huge rooftop terrace. But that's about it... The ambiance is completely unacceptable... Everything seems messy – dirty tables, menus, overwhelmed service, constantly claiming they're not responsible. The self-service concept wasn't well thought out at all, and there was no one able to explain the (really somewhat cumbersome) ordering system to guests, so we and other guests initially had no idea how or where to order. Then we had to wait in long lines to place an order. We even knew our table number, which then had to be verified first because the lady taking the order wasn't very familiar with it. The drinks are special, they're delicious, but they're ridiculously overpriced when the glass is actually just filled with a giant ice cube, and you, as a guest, have to stand in line for 10 minutes to place an order. So I won't be coming back and can't recommend this location.

A beautiful roof terrace, but a service whose staff clearly lacks training and a food that leaves much to be desired

The waitress seemed like we were disturbing the crowd, and no one was available to pay, so they called a colleague from another area who didn't speak German. The food was tasty; it's good to order bread or fries with one course. But the view and the location on the roof of the Humboldt Forum are magnificent.

Superb view from the rooftop. The entrance fee (€3 per person, reduced rates for some) is a bit lacking in umbrellas or shade if it's very sunny, but to appreciate the view, I recommend the detour!

The Baret Rooftop Bar is a true highlight above the rooftops of Berlin – if only for the breathtaking view of Museum Island. This location offers a very special atmosphere that you don't often find. While there are a few limited seating options, this makes the bar even more exclusive – and with this view, you can also enjoy the view while standing. The prices are a bit higher, but that's completely understandable for such a special rooftop location – and in our opinion, absolutely justified. A big compliment goes to our fantastic and helpful waitress, who was very attentive and friendly. The wine we tried was truly excellent, and the coffee was also surprisingly good – something you can't always expect at a rooftop bar. Conclusion: If you want to enjoy an evening in Berlin in style – with a great view, good drinks, and relaxed service – you shouldn't miss a visit to Baret. A clear recommendation and five stars!

We came here for a view of the city as the Fernsehturm is ridiculously priced. We had a lovely drink on the outside terrace, with a beautiful view and a good drink. Worth a visit

Great location, ambitious fine dining (to justify the prices?) not successful. The menu has nothing to do with Berlin. A shame. Service okay.

The whole atmosphere is created by the view from the window, the tables and chairs in the establishment are cheap, the design is old. I really liked the fresh flowers in the pots. The food is good, 4 points. Overall, you can go once.

We had a hot cocoa, a cappuccino, and a water for 18 euros, plus the 6 euro entrance fee for the roof terrace, which is pretty steep. The roof terrace used to be free, and it should stay that way since the entire construction was paid for with taxpayers' money. There is, however, a discounted entrance fee, but I don't know for whom. Pensioners have to pay the full price too. It's a shame. I don't miss the castle terrace either. I always enjoyed the view, even in the Humboldt Cube, the coffee was much cheaper there. It's a shame. I now have to find a new coffee shop with a view.
