Great little cafe! The espresso was solid, the eggs were good, and the pomegranate seeds were a unique touch on the croissant. There was no room on the main side so they took us across the street but the service was still very accommodating.

Food 10/10, fair prices, excellent service. We'd be back!

I've been here so many times because the price-performance ratio is extremely good. The food is incredibly delicious, whether it's the brunch options or hearty meals, and of high quality. The service is extremely friendly, personal, and fast. The atmosphere in the cafe is inviting. My favorite brunch spot!

We, two people, were escorted out after 1.5 hours, even though we were still eating. We had ordered a sum total of around €60, so not just one drink. The employee was very attentive and friendly - unfortunately, the manager was not. Fortunately, there are plenty of excellent restaurants in Munich where you can finish your meal in peace.

Service is really nice & efficient. Food is affordable & yummy with big portion sizes. A good spot for daydrinking when the weather is nice. However, be careful: on weekends it can get very crowded and you might have to wait for a table even after booking.

The one next door is by far my favorite restaurant in Maxvorstadt. I've been here with my parents, in-laws, friends, and on my own, and not only has everyone always found something on the menu that appealed to them, but everyone has always been truly happy with their meal. The interior is decorated in a way that makes you feel at home. The chef often greets and farewells you personally, always has time for a chat, and stops by every table to check everyone's happy. My go-to dish and favorite is the bowl with couscous, beetroot salad, and goat cheese, but I've also tried the pumpkin lasagna, a risotto, leek noodles, the curry, and the pizza, and everything is truly delicious (and affordable). Highly recommended :)

I've been to this place for the first time and regret not having discovered it sooner. My friend had a Quattro fromaggi that was absolutely delicious. We also tried their cakes that were very tasty. Very friendly owner, staff, and lovely atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!

We've been coming to Nebenan regularly for years – sometimes several times a month, sometimes even several times a week. And for good reason: The salads are among the best in town. We especially love the seasonal variations – whether with watermelon, nectarines, or other fresh ideas – always surprising, always perfectly seasoned. But it's not just the food: The team is simply fantastic. Everyone who works here is attentive, friendly, fast, and seems to genuinely enjoy their job. The place runs like clockwork – totally well-coordinated and always with a great atmosphere. Barry is an institution in his own right, but everyone else also makes Nebenan something special. For us, it's long been more than just a café or restaurant – it's become our second home.

Outrageous prices. 5 euros for a tiny piece of cake is excessive, even by Maxvorstadt standards. The coffee tastes burnt and not high-quality.

One of the best restaurants in Munich. Delicious and reasonably priced. Service is a top priority here. You really feel at home. The salads and pizza are particularly outstanding. Berry, the owner, truly understands customer service. I've even celebrated a birthday here for 20p. I had a reservation outside, but since it was raining, the inside area was spontaneously cleared. I'm always happy to come back.

Four of us went for breakfast on Sunday morning and had made a reservation. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone enjoyed the drinks as well. Everything was super easy, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We immediately felt at home. Especially on weekends, I would definitely recommend making a reservation. Overall, a truly fantastic breakfast that I highly recommend. We'd definitely be back.

Good food, but the boss treats the employees very poorly, which negatively impacts the atmosphere. I won't be coming here again. It's a real shame that they treat their employees like this.

Ridiculous service! Ordered a proper coffee and meal and just opened my laptop when the waiter came in saying this is “not a working space”. Barely used the laptop and was asked to “close it”. Food is also mediocre with a bunch of honey mustard on top and lacking flavour. Store was more than empty anyway, also didn’t ask for wifi or plugs or anything when this all happened. Nowhere in the store was it written either. What a wonderful way to chase away customers in a good location.

Treat yourself to some time out inside or outside and enjoy the incredibly delicious dishes and drinks. The team is incredibly friendly and dedicated to your every need. Highly recommended, and we'd be happy to return anytime.

We had a spritz with friends. The place is nice, and they have an outdoor terrace. The cocktails are not very expensive but neither so good. Overall is a nice experience because of the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but would not recommend for the drinks themselves

The one next door has the potential to become a favorite bar for after-work drinks. The beer garden is absolutely beautiful, and the ambiance inside also has a great feel-good factor. The prices are absolutely reasonable and below the (far too high) Munich average; please keep them that way. The food was super delicious and served quickly. The drinks were good too. Unfortunately, we had to wait a very, very long time several times before we could order again, as no one came out or came to our table, even though there was enough staff. One employee even said, "Sorry, everyone seems totally unmotivated today." That's certainly not something you should tell your guests ;) I'll be back anyway!!

We were here for brunch on Sunday morning with 11 people, and despite the busy crowd (very popular on Sundays!), everyone received our generous and beautiful portions in good time. There was nothing wrong with the food overall, although my pumpkin was a bit too salty for me. I particularly remember the cheerful and attentive staff. I'd love to go back :)

The food was great, the service was very friendly and warm and the quality and performance were just right. I ended my birthday here and was very happy to have been there that day. We spontaneously went there for dinner. It was incredibly loud and very crowded. When the server brought drinks to the next table, you had to watch out for elbows. The employee asked us if everything was okay, even though we hadn't even gotten the menu yet. The employee who brought our drinks (0.2 l Coke for €4??) spilled a lot of my energy water, but didn't bring any towels to dry the table. I have food allergies and asked about it. Unfortunately, it took 20 minutes and three inquiries to the employee before I finally got an answer. At this point, we were about to leave. The food came very quickly, but unfortunately the portions were very small. There was only one toilet per gender, and the women's had such loose fittings that you could hardly turn on the water, and the soap was also empty. It's a shame, but we definitely won't be going back.

Absolutely recommend! All the bowls are so delicious, there are many vegan options, and everything always tastes super fresh! I don't know how many times I've been here (see photos)... my favorite is the salad bowl with grilled pumpkin. The dressing and bread are so delicious, and for that price, you can't usually get a bowl like that in Munich! Be sure to make a reservation in the evening, as it's always very busy. Vegan cakes would be great too :)

If you want something healthy and good to eat in Munich, this is your choice. They have an indoor dining room and an outdoor terrace, also suitable for groups. I gave it a 4 because the service was really slow, but the food was very good.

The absolute best food in the university district. I don't think I can say much more than that. The food is fresh and healthy and the portions are incredibly large for the price. You really always get full here. The people here are super friendly and attentive. My absolute favorite cafe/restaurant!! If I could only choose one place to go to in Munich, it would be this one. You can always come here because the menu changes seasonally. So you can always order the same thing or go completely wild. What more could you want?

Barry is an experienced hand in gastronomy - and despite this (or because of that?) he and his team always manage to find a kind word and a short amount of time for his guests. Stylish isn't everything - an in-meeting place where you feel completely un-posh at home. Rare!

Colorful, modern, fresh and surprisingly good

It’s a very popular place for lunch ( I only visited there for lunch few times ) or coffee , often crowded , the food are decent and with big portion . Amazingly combined all nutrients. Carbs , fibers , vitamins ! Vegetables or meat, both are available. The services staffs are so friendly , speak English is not a problem , the menu also easy to read . I like the ginger orange tea , all time favorite!

After a long renovation and name change, the “next door” still remained in the same style. A casual corner cafe with the usual offering of freshly squeezed juices, Panini's coffee and cake. The coffee itself isn't the best, but you can drink it. You can sit comfortably both inside and outside. The café is in the university district and of course mainly visited by students. A very relaxed place, only the service could be improved a bit... Very reasonably priced for Munich

The restaurant only sees the customer as a wallet. At first they wouldn't let us sit down because we said there were four of us, but two of us waited outside while we looked for a table first. The person in charge told us that all four had to be present so he could give us a table. He later informed us that we could only stay for an hour, but after just 45 minutes the waiter came twice and disturbed us. After 50 minutes the person in charge came himself and told us that we have to leave. The food was very simple, the portions were small and way too expensive.

The one next door is simply perfect – whether for breakfast, lunch or a relaxed dinner. The quality is top, the food is always fresh and incredibly tasty!! The many vegetarian dishes and the delicious coffee make every visit a pleasure. 😊 And then there's Barry, the owner, who often knows his guests personally and greets them as if they were old friends. This warm, personal atmosphere makes every visit special. 😊 Anyone who has been here once is guaranteed to come back again and again!! Absolute recommendation!

The food was absolutely delicious and so filling. Everything on the plate complemented each other perfectly, and very flavorful. The dishes are also quite unique so I would recommend trying out different ones so that you can share with each other. We would definitely recommend the plate which schnitzel. The prices are really good for the high quality of the food. The place is very busy on the weekends, so it can get pretty crowded and loud. there can also be a line, but it is definitely worth it.

I've been going next door for almost two years now! What's striking: consistently excellent service! Everyone is always super friendly. Healthy and very tasty lunch or dinner. We came on a Sunday at peak time without a reservation and never thought we would get a table. But the friendly gentleman in service made everything possible and actually organized a place for us - despite the full house. The entire service was attentive and quick, our order was taken immediately and the food arrived in no time. The juices, cappuccino and breakfast were simply outstanding - fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. We are thrilled and will definitely come back!

We found it while looking for a place to have breakfast near the museum district. They have English menus. The flavors on the breakfast plates are delicious, and the cheese selection is great. The atmosphere is nice and the waiters are understandable and fast. They can only offer slightly softer beans for espresso. Everything was great. One of the good breakfast places to go to in Munich.

This is my friend’s favorite restaurant, and I understood why after visiting. She recommended the Penne pasta, and it was delicious—creamy and full of vegetables. My partner ordered the salmon, and it was amazing. We also tried a fresh juice made with orange, carrot, ginger, and more—it was absolutely delicious. The owner is full of energy and provides excellent attention to the customers. If I could eat here every day, I would.

Dear Barry, four of us spontaneously went next door on a Saturday at the beginning of November. Called shortly beforehand and everything was perfect. Great pizzas, fresh😉from across the street. Every dessert is a dream. Recommendation? Simply everything! My tip: The Tiramisu❤️ is a heavenly kiss for every sweet tooth.
