After a long holiday in Spain, where we sampled countless tapas of varying quality, we were eager to recreate those culinary experiences in our hometown. And we found the perfect place to do so at Bar Raval. It's essential to make a reservation before visiting, as the restaurant is quite popular. When we arrived, two large groups had already occupied most of the space, creating a considerable level of noise, which was further amplified by the background music. Besides regular tables, there are also several high tables spread across multiple rooms, as well as bar seating. The tapas selection is extensive, and the menu is well-organized according to the main ingredients of each tapa. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. There's no shortage of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The croquetas de jamón, a croquette with a ham and cheese filling, was significantly better than any we had in Spain. The pimientos de Padrón were also excellent. The boquerones fritos had a strong fishy smell, but they tasted good, which unfortunately couldn't be said for the gambas ajillo. We found hardly any garlic, the gambas were dry and barely seasoned, swimming in a liquid that didn't deserve to be dipped with bread. The vegetarian version of the honey-baked goat cheese wasn't particularly convincing either. The waiter who looked after our table, who spoke excellent Spanish and a little German, was very friendly, attentive, and in a great mood, despite—or perhaps because of—the restaurant's occupancy. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, similar to what we've had in Spain. Therefore, we can definitely recommend Bar Raval to anyone looking for tapas.

I visited the restaurant on the recommendation of friends and I wasn't disappointed. Very friendly service in English, Spanish, or German. The dishes were good, but the croquettes deserve special mention. They were truly delicious. The prices are in line with the average for the area. I recommend it!!

Food was just ok especially for the price. Service was underwhelming. We had to ask for everything, even for salt olive oil for the bread.

Incredibly good food! The service is super attentive and incredibly friendly. The atmosphere has a lovely Spanish touch. From the outside or because of the surroundings, it might seem a bit unassuming and a bit deceiving – but don't let that put you off. For me, it's one of the best Spanish restaurants I've ever visited outside of Spain, if not the best. It was a bit more expensive, but the food is definitely worth the money!

If you want to experience Spain in Berlin, you should go to Bar Raval. Super authentic, great tapas, relaxed atmosphere. Almost the entire service team is Spanish, which makes everything even more authentic (you can still get by with English and German ;)). The tapas we had were very typical, like the croquettas, but even in their simplicity, they were delicious and authentic. It was almost as if you were eating them at a tapas bar in Granada at the foot of the Alhambra. The icing on the cake was the live Spanish music alongside the food. Highly recommended!

It is a cool spanish restaurant. Tapas are simple and good. Portions are big. I love the Crem Catalan. Sitting outside make me feel chill.

I came here because a friend has been a regular for over 10 years. The service was a bit slow at first, but the food and wine made up for it—I especially loved the juicy olives. They also have live music, and the overall vibe is really cute.

Both food and wine were very tasty, and the service, one of the best ones I have ever had in Berlín. Everyone working there was nice and fast! I'm spanish and I approve 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 the tortilla always with onions. More than enough vegan and vegetarian options :)

I'm pleasantly surprised. A few years ago, I preferred many Spanish restaurants in Berlin, but now the food and drinks are top-notch.

After a meeting, we decided to get something to eat, and to my surprise, we found a despicable place. The boss/owner (Atila or Atilano) was rude and unpleasant. Frustrated and envious. We don't recommend it.

Very delicious Spanish food in Berlin. Mostly typical dishes, but they taste just like in Spain. I've been several times and will return for the food. I definitely recommend: grilled goat cheese, patatas bravas (they're bravioli), ham croquette, crispy anchovies, Basque cheesecake. Very good: Padrón peppers, garlic shrimp, octopus, bread with aioli. Not to mention: fried calamari, chorizo in cider (it's spicy), cod croquette. Not to be recommended: fried eggplant. They serve Estrella Galicia beer and also tinto de verano. If they offer you water, say no, as they charge €4. Almost all the waiters are Spanish speakers, and some are Spanish. The portions are small and a bit pricey. Around €30-40 per person.

The food wasn't particularly exceptional for the price and especially the quantity you get. Service was otherwise good and the ambiance was nice, but the price-performance ratio is outrageous. The portions are extremely small...they don't taste particularly good either, but they're really expensive.

Ein Sommersonntag der besten Art: Nach einem Spaziergang durch mehrere Parks der Hauptstadt hatten wir uns Plätze in diesem Restaurant reserviert. Ausgesucht hatten wir es, weil an diesem Abend ein hierzulande noch eher unbekannter Aperitiv namens Amargero aus Mallorca vorgestellt wurde - ein Bitterorangenlikör, der äußerst vielseitig serviert werden kann. Zu den Amargero-Drinks gab es natürich spanische Tapas á la Carte. Ausnahmslos alles von bester Qualität, fritierte Sardellen, Ziegenkäse mit Tomatenmarmelade, Crema catalana, gebratene Paprika, Artischocken etc etc. Man darf natürlich keine Imbissbudenpreise erwarten, aber normalerweise zahlt man für die gebotene Leistung spürbar mehr. On Top - der Gastgeber Marc Hanke war stets präsent und hat eine sehr persönliche Atmosphäre aufgebaut. Sicherlich hat das Wetter mitgeholfen, aber der Abend hat uns in etliche Urlaubserinnerungen zurückversetzt.

Excellent value for money, friendly staff and great food/drinks (Negro's €9) Highly recommend the croquettes (all of them), sardines, calamari and crispy octopus all cooked beautifully and al dented not over done, excellent. Only a couple of negatives, a mix up in orders and some errant cigarette smoke flowing in from outside tables through open door but overall very good.

Amazing food and drinks, you have to get the chorizo! They also have great vegetarian options. The outside seating was lovely. Overall one of the best tapas I had so far.

Absolutely fantastic if you're with a group of people sharing the tapas bar. It's bustling and lively, so not exactly the place for a quiet candlelit dinner. And it's a shame the sangria was already gone. You have to order early; it must be really good. Next time, then.

The crème brûlée was gorgeous and the service was really wonderful. I was actually only there as a chauffeur to pick up my parents from the wine tasting and was also well looked after (alcohol-free of course ;))

What a discovery! An excellent address in Berlin. Where to start…. ? The atmosphere is very nice. Lounge and jazzy music. Tables where young and old people meet to chat. The service listens. It can be done in German, English or Spanish. And always with a smile. As for the cuisine, it is quality. I recommend squid fritters, pork tatakis, beef cheeks, tuna salad or grilled meats. Even the potatoes are tasty.

Es begann mit 4/ Euro/ h Parkgebühr. Wir hatten einen Gutschein, der Essen/ Getränke mehr oder weniger vorgab. Uns wurden nach und nach die Speisen kommentarlos hingestellt. Die Getränke, die im Gutschein inbegriffen waren, mussten wir immer wieder anfordern. Durch die Nähe zum Görlitzer Park kamen ständig Leute, um auf die Toiletten zu gehen. Das war nervig. Dass das Personal kaum oder kein Deutsch sprach, muss man mögen. Fazit: kein guter Service für zu hohe Preise.

Delicious Spanish tapas and cozy atmosphere. The wine pairing recommendation was also very good! Try the chocolate lava cake - perfection :) A tad far from any of the stations, other than that - great place!

We were very skeptical when we chose this event through Jochen Schweitzer. The bar opened super on time. A waitress welcomed us very friendly and showed us to a table. Afterwards she came to us and explained the menu to us and asked for the wine (red/white or rose) and the type of seltzer. The menu consisted of 7 different dishes. They were small delicacies that really tasted excellent and also satisfied our appetite. Everything was excellent. We left the bar completely satisfied and will definitely come back there more often.

We came across the Tapas Bar in Berlin-Kreuzberg from a mydays voucher “Small delicacies for two”! We were very positively surprised by the selection of tapas. We were served by very friendly and helpful staff and will be back!

The food was super tasty, the service was also very good. The reason I only give it 4 stars is that the chairs were really uncomfortable and unfortunately there were no sugar-free soft drinks.

In order to order, you have to download the menu onto your cell phone. You should speak English well. We found the tapas we chose to be very different, from “okay” to very good. The (small) main courses were tasty, as were the desserts. The service was very friendly and quick. Any intolerance was professionally considered.

We had an amazing dinner at Bar Raval. The food was outstanding and incredibly fresh, and the wine selection was top-notch. The service deserves special mention as well – the staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Definitely one of the best spots in town for Spanish cuisine and wine. Very great restaurant. There are no promises about the kitchen. Except that the tastiest tapas are available in so many variations that everyone can be happy here. The service is pleasantly present, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and very down to earth. We were there on Friday, January 10th and had the big table at the entrance, which I wasn't very impressed with at first because everyone passes by it. But we didn't notice this at all during our stay. Absolute recommendation. We had an incredibly nice birthday evening there. I can only recommend it. However, a reservation is recommended. Thank you all for your great job and for the love you put into it. The guest feels that.

Es un bar ideal para explicarle a un berlines la tapita que te dan gratis cuando pides una caña en Madrid. Solo que en este bar pagas por ella de media unos 8€ y por la copa de vino 9€. Resumiendo, a menos que comas y bebas como un pajarito mejor busca otro restaurante. Al menos la calidad de la comida no es mala.

Nice Spanish tapas bar in Berlin. Service was good and the food was delicious. Overall, atmosphere was great. Went there for a company dinner and we got a huge table (a bit separated) for us. Therefore, I can recommend to go there in a big group as well.
