Bar Centrale in München

For over 10 years, we went there more or less regularly. But for the last two years, neither the atmosphere nor the clientele has been conducive to a good evening. So we just go for a quick bite. Yesterday, for the first time, the service was also really unfriendly. Absolutely unacceptable!! What a shame, because it used to be a gem in the city center 😕

Unfortunately, the visit was marred by very unfriendly staff. It was crowded and cramped, but the way they treated customers was upsetting. Definitely not a recommendation from me.

Bar Centrale Bar Centrale is more than just a bar to me ☕🍸 During my time in Munich, it was like my second living room. Always a place for a good espresso, a glass of wine, or a relaxed aperitivo 🍷 Unpretentious, authentic, and with exactly the atmosphere you could wish for. Even today, it's still worth a visit 👍 A piece of Munich you won't want to miss.

The waiter behind the counter deliberately greeted us with "Ciao Bello" (we were two women), and his female acquaintance laughed at us—so far, so disrespectful. By the time we got to our table, we'd been passed around to four different waiters. We wanted to order food, which we'd clearly stated, but all we received were drink menus. So we left. A bunch of snotty, rude people. (Seems to be a pattern. I understand that in Munich, a slob like this can pick and choose his customers. But you can still be friendly; it's simply a matter of basic human decency.)

I visited this bar quite some time ago, after waiting at the door for a long time, a waiter told me there is no place while I saw there are multiple un-occupied places in the bar. I questioned, finally the waiter let me in. However, the bartender pretended that he could not understand me, even though I tried speaking both German and English, yes I do speak German. Eventually I left, feeling judged and treated unfairly. Will never come back.

Great pasta, even better coffee and tiramisu. Very fair prices! Traditional bohemian Italian ambience. Must go and come back many times for a (few) Peroni.

We wanted to plan a small celebration for 18 people here. The planning process proved extremely inflexible. It was more than obvious that there was no interest in an event of this size. Information was unavailable, and everything we asked about (e.g., whether we could have a choice of two main courses!) was answered with a negative response, without any constructive suggestions. Similarly, we weren't given the option of ordering a specific appetizer at the Brenner restaurant. Ordering à la carte was possible, but not if we were booking as a group. It's incomprehensible. My request to meet in person or talk on the phone for planning purposes was never answered. Instead, I had to practically drag every piece of information out of them, as I, as a guest, had no idea what options were available. The woman in charge of events seemed extremely annoyed by this, which was reflected in her responses. When I expressed my suspicion that there was no interest in finding a solution together, I was told to find another venue. Very, very disappointing and simply outrageous. We would have really liked to celebrate in a restaurant owned by Kull & Weinzierl GmbH and would have been prepared to spend a lot of money there, but some friendliness, interest and customer focus would have been nice.

Great cocktails, great people, fantastic aperitivo!

A very interesting and great Italian café/bistro. I went there for breakfast at 11:30. The coffee, juice, and croissant were very, very delicious and truly authentically Italian. The interior was also nice. I think it used to be a pastry shop? That's what it looks like from the outside and inside. I just don't think the location is really suitable for lingering or dating, as there's a lot of foot traffic. Unfortunately, there's no Wi-Fi either... but otherwise, everything was perfect.

There were two of us on an early Saturday evening. The food was delicious, and the staff were cheerful and friendly. If you prefer a very quiet atmosphere, you might be better off going somewhere else, but the relaxed ambiance more than makes up for it. Highly recommended.

We came here for breakfast and had reserved in advance, which was definitely necessary. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was also very good. The only downsides were the lack of butter and the cramped seating. It might be sufficient for drinks or just a coffee, but a full breakfast with several small plates barely fits on the tables.

Dear Bar Central Team, unfortunately, our visit did not meet our expectations. The food was average and overpriced. The seating on the small tables/stools was uncomfortable, which significantly detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the music in the "restaurant" was exceptionally loud, requiring us to shout to be heard. Upon entering, the first server rudely informed us that dining was in a separate room. There was no welcome whatsoever! This manner of address in both areas (bar and restaurant) left us with the impression that we were not welcome, which was disappointing as we had been really looking forward to the evening. We hope you take this feedback seriously and use it to improve.

This is where the Aperol Spritz was invented! Pure Italy in Munich, an absolute highlight and a must-visit location in Munich. Espresso in the morning, pasta at lunchtime, pasta and aperitivo in the evening.

I was looking for a restaurant that was open early for breakfast. This was an excellent find. Delicious food, friendly and welcoming service, and delightful ambience. I had a breakfast of scrambled eggs, avocado toast with bread and a croissant. The croissant and bread were amazing. The eggs were done to perfection. Everything was tasty and healthy. I can’t see enough good things about this establishment.

Bar Centrale is a small café with a vibrant, authentic atmosphere, hiding behind an old run-down house facade. The coffee is amazing, and the selection of croissants and snacks is even better. Perfect for a quick espresso at the bar or a relaxed break. It doesn’t get any more Italian than this.

One of the best espressos in the city and the accompanying cornetti sweeten every morning. What the kitchen conjures up in this space is magnificent and a disgrace for other restaurants. Unfortunately, it's no longer an insider tip for a while now - making a reservation is highly recommended.

The location is generally good. The rest of the hotel and the service are unfortunately terrible. A shame!

The cocktails were delicious. The salad had too much balsamic vinegar for my taste. This spoiled the experience a bit, but the atmosphere, drinks, and witty staff helped make it a pleasant experience.

The stars definitely aren't enough here! It's like a spontaneous short trip to Italy. The staff is always super friendly and in a good mood, immersing you in the world of Italy. Everyone is warmly welcomed here. The best espresso for miles around, the food is super delicious, and the absolute recommendation for all those with a sweet tooth is the pistachio cheesecake or the pistachio croissant. Breakfast here is also beyond delicious. In the evening, a heavenly espresso martini. The best part? The price-performance ratio is perfect. Grazie Ragazzi, no trip to Munich would be without you. So grateful for this wonderful feeling of life with you.

Nice location, prices are reasonable for the location. My meal was okay, but the sauce was a bit stale.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed on my first visit. It started with a friendly "Hello, we have a reservation," followed by an arrogant finger-pointing telling us to go around the corner. When we got there, all the tables were marked with "reserves." Since no one showed up, we chose a table. When the waitress came, she wasn't very hospitable in my opinion. She put up the blackboard with the daily menu. No smile, just a lackluster or annoyed manner. When we asked if they had a portion of pasta with tomato sauce for a child, the answer was "NO!" The prices for the food were okay; it tasted very delicious. What was really shocking, however, was how much they charged for a bottle of water.

I ordered pasta to go, paid, and waited for my food to be ready so I could pick it up. But I still had a Red Bull in my hand, and the man at the bar asked me to leave, saying I had a Red Bull in my hand, which I didn't buy there, even though I had ordered food there, paid, and waited to pick it up. In my opinion, that's completely unacceptable, and I will never come here again and will never recommend it to anyone. There are many better bars where you can eat and drink in Ingolstadt.

Drinks were good, service was not! We had reserved a table and, despite having a reservation, had to wait 15 minutes in the narrow passageway. The waiter seemed disinterested and slightly stressed. Overall, the service was just not good. The bill also ended up being charged for the wrong wine. There was no apology for that either. It's a shame, because the drinks were delicious. The atmosphere is typically Italian, but the noise level is very high overall.

Since the small but exquisite blackboard menu changes daily, everything is always fresh and arrives promptly. This is important if you have an appointment at the theater, opera, etc. Friendly and attentive service. A piece of Italy in Munich.

Terrible service. Upon arrival, they send you to the back. They ask you what you're ordering. When you order a coffee from the menu, they tell you it's not available in that area and to go ahead. We clearly left.

What a fantastic place, day and night. Tasty food, great coffee, nice wine, and at good prices. Staff were fun and seemed to truly enjoy their work, and added to the already great atmosphere of the space itself. Absolutely recommend going.

Coffee, cocktails: 5 stars, Italy at its best...food: NO. Ravioli with truffle sauce...let's just say you can get better pasta in the cafeteria (and even cheaper!). The sauce was pure cream, no salt, nothing. Definitely a cool place, except for the food.

Been there for the breakfast and the food was great. The service was awesome. If you’re new in Germany, or in the euro be careful that the water is not free and it’s gonna be twice as expensive as a beer which was a surprise for us.

We had our aperitivo there. A nice Custoza, along with excellent bruschetta, a few olives, and some cheese. Attentive and friendly service. Reservations are recommended.

We went for a beer around 00:00 on Saturday, the place was still full of people and the security stopped us from entering the bar, saying they were closed, although we could see everything was still running. Back home we use to value a lot italian cordiality, but this place doesn’t seem to share any of that. Terrible experience, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there.

When in Munich, you have to go to Bar Centrale. An Italian hotspot in Bavaria with a fantastic Italian breakfast and top-notch coffee. You'll usually also meet typical "Munich locals..."

Very friendly staff. Freshly baked croissants with pistachio filling and a delicious latte macchiato, plus a platter with salad, salami, cheese, and freshly cooked scrambled eggs. Excellent! Highly recommended. And the shop itself is very nice, with a lovely Italian style. They greet guests with "Bon Giorno," and I feel like I'm in Italy, fantastic!

Yes, it is a nice place, but although I asked politely, I couldn't understand whether I wanted a beer or borrowed money. The bartender and waiter were not very polite. They seemed to say, "We don't want you to come." This is not how you should treat guests in your city.

Cute little bar with limited seats but served Italian breakfasts. Freshly squeezed orange juice and its carrot-orange-ginger were divine. Sandwiches and the ham eggs we ordered were especially elevated with the balsamic vinegar they added.

Service good, wine great, unfortunately I think €11 for a 0.75 liter bottle of water is completely excessive. You need water with your alcoholic drinks and the price should be adjusted.

The tables are somewhat small, making it a bit cramped for two people trying to enjoy both drinks and food comfortably. It seems like there might be an attempt to fit too many tables into the available space, which affects the overall dining comfort. Overall, the combination of excellent food, delightful cocktails, and attentive service make it a restaurant worth visiting, despite the minor issue with table space. The space being cramped is the only reason I can’t give it a 5 star review.
