Great food, great tea, nice staff, recommended ;)

Normally if I don’t like a service I let it go but here I want to give this restaurant a negative review. I was eating there yesterday and both the food and the venue were good enough (not very central though). However, when I went to pay, I noticed a small sign by the door that said “only cash”. The waitress did not mention anything about it when she served me earlier. I did not have much cash on me but since my food was only 12.90 euros and I only had taken a bottle of water, so I figured I should be able to cover it. When the waitress gave me the total (18,80) I told her that I was 0,80 cents short on cash (water was unexpectedly 5,90!) but I could pay by card. She did not take my card as their machine did not take foreign cards (are we in the middle age?) and instead of giving me 0,80 discount and allow me to pay with the cash I had, which a reasonable service provider would do, she forced me to go and withdraw money from the nearby ATM. All that for 0.80 cents! I never ask for any discounts when dining out but here the problem was theirs, as they don’t accept cards and I think that a more reasonable person would have understood that it made little sense to force a customer to go out of the restaurant and withdraw money (and pay the bank fee) for just 0,80 cents. Very, very poor customer service. BTW, I don’t live in Berlin (I live in a country where every transaction is electronic/with card), and I understand that asking to pay cash to customers may be “normal “ in Berlin. But here the situation was just paradoxical. Whether restaurants do so to avoid paying taxes or because the taxes/bank fees are too high, they should not pass these costs to their customers.

The food was delicious. The service was friendly but not very engaging. There was almost nothing going on and yet the waitress didn't even come to the table after the food and drinks were served. To pay you had to go in yourself and ask for someone to come. There is a children's high chair. That was brought to us too. But it's obviously never been cleaned. That was pretty gross. I then cleaned it myself. The waitress wasn't interested in that. At least then she could have offered her help or cleaning supplies.

The food was delicious and the service was great. We arrived about 7 minutes before opening time, but the waitress still served us very friendly and the room was very clean. I really like Golden Hour. When I asked to switch from rice noodles to udon noodles, the waitress was very friendly, she was worried about what we would think of the dish. I was very happy with that. I would like to come back many more times.

The best vegan meal I've ever had, I was confused because I couldn't pay by credit card.

Delicious food, fast service Cozy atmosphere

We sat outside and the ambience was nice. The service seemed friendly and reserved. But the food was tasteless. Unexciting. But there was one thing that particularly annoyed me: I ordered a “seaweed salad with beetroot and sesame”. What do you expect there? Seaweed and beetroot with sesame, right? What came was a bowl of 80% cheap iceberg lettuce, 5% carrots, 10% seaweed, 3% beetroot and 2% sesame. And what annoyed me even more: I politely asked the waitress why I got iceberg lettuce with seaweed garnish when I ordered seaweed salad with beetroot and she argued with me for ages - without taking him back. Crazy. There were no tips (for the first time in my life) and I definitely won't be coming back.

I had the pleasure of visiting Ban Vegan in Berlin and I absolutely loved it! The food is not only incredibly tasty, but also inexpensive. Every dish was a delight and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. Particularly noteworthy is the young waitress Ming – so friendly, attentive and professional. You made my visit a completely positive experience. I can recommend Ban Vegan to anyone (especially your non-vegan friends) who wants to enjoy great vegan food and good cocktails in a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for the great service and wonderful food!

Everything average, but good. The food tasted good, but wasn't as special as I had hoped. The homemade drinks were a bit watery. The interior design is very cozy with nice accents, but the seating could be more comfortable. The service is very friendly, but unfortunately it was a bit slow. All in all OK. But it didn't knock my socks off.

Super cute Vietnamese vegan restaurant with a small but very diverse menu. And you definitely have to try the Vietnamese coffee with vegan condensed milk 😉👍

This place is pretty, and feels authentic. Street music on occasion too which adds to the charm. And the food is nommmmm 🫶 Staff work very hard here and are very friendly, helpful and kind. But book a table in advance for peak times or prepare to wait. It can get filled inside and out very quickly.

Everything was delicious and the ambience was incredible. Portions are pretty big! Definitely coming back with an emptier stomach to try more!!

I had the food delivered. The udon noodles were in an absolutely delicious sauce and I even liked the tofu here, which is not always the case in other restaurants. Highly recommended for vegans and everyone else.

It's a total shame, such a nice place, very nice service and then such a bad meal. I even commented that the tofu tasted very strange and was perhaps no longer good. Everything was swimming in a sticky coconut sludge sauce, not soup, not sauce... overcooked rice noodles and vegetables... unfortunately that wasn't soul foud

Anyone who likes vegan food is in good hands here. I tried several dishes with my friends and everything tasted very good.

It was completely empty except one table, yet they did their best for not letting us sit outside. Very bad and discriminative customer service. Probably bcs they didnt like our look, they didnt want student immigrants, they were only wishing for some white-classy scandinavian style minimalism. The worst restaurant ever in Berlin

Very nice purely vegan restaurant with delicious food and drinks. It's extremely rare for me to be unable to decide when it comes to choosing a warm drink. Then I had Sapa Tea - soy milk with oolong, star anise and cinnamon - and was just as happy with it as I was with my rice bowl with tofu and vegetables in peanut sauce. My companion had Ban's Treasure with incredibly tasty and spicy udon noodles. Everything was very delicious and perfect and definitely a recommendation!

I ordered and both pasta dishes were prepared with this ready-made sweet and sour sauce that you can buy everywhere. I have never witnessed anything like this. Dishes: Bans Treasure and Golden Hour. That didn't taste good at all. Everything was drowned in this jelly-like sauce. That has nothing to do with cooking. Had some spaghetti with ketchup. Sorry... really bad. .

Vegan hasn't been my favorite so far, but my bowl was great. The meat substitute was okay, but I don't want to go without it in the long run. Still a nice experience with delicious food and the typical Asian taste. Thanks for the taste experience

I didn't know the store at all and wanted to try something new. I'm not a vegan but I like to eat meatless sometimes. The staff is super nice and the food is incredibly good. Plus everything is very clean. I can really recommend the restaurant to you.

A little piece of Vietnam in Berlin. Although there is not such a large selection of vegan products in Vietnam... The location is modern and is very clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The waiter Minhtu in particular had a lot of patience and gave us very good advice. I can only recommend this restaurant! Even if you're not vegan, you won't be disappointed. Everything was very nicely prepared. Price performance ratio is very good. The Tropical Bowl was our favorite. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

The main courses were very good - but the starters were absolutely brilliant! A pleasure that far exceeds all expectations. The kitchen knows how to play with texture and mouthfeel as well as taste. Friendly staff, the two of them running a largely full shop. The interior design is elaborate, even a visit to the toilet is worth it.

I'm usually really picky when it comes to vegan food, but I have to say that this restaurant surpasses my expectations! The food has so much flavor, their unique drinks are just superb and the service is very friendly. This restaurant gives off such a comforting vibe , with all the cool lamps they attached, which makes long stays very pleasent. You can easily notice that they're very meticulous as they pay attention to every single detail. The food/drink decoration as well as the quality of each and every food is admiring!

Super! Aufgrund er guten Rezensionen waren meine Erwartungen hoch, auch weil ich das Restaurant vorgeschlagen hatte. Diese wurden übertroffen, das Essen war hervorragend! Tofu bestelle ich meistens zur Sättigung, dieser war lecker und hatte eine tolle Konsistenz. Alles was wir bestellten, Vor- und Hauptspeisen, war ausgezeichnet, und auch die nicht-Vegetarier waren beeindruckt. Und ich wurde satt, das passiert nicht oft. Auf jeden Fall wieder!

Ich hatte ein Gericht mit veganen Hähnchen und ich muss sagen, es hat mich nicht so sehr umgehauen. Es war nicht super schlecht, aber ich glaube auch, dass dieser Hähnchenersatz nicht meins ist. Eher labbrig. Und es war mir auch etwas zu salzig. Die Einrichtung und Atmosphäre sind aber sehr schön, auch die Bedienung ist ganz nett.

The noodles contained Seitan and this was not mentioned in the ingredients list nor in the allergies list. They should know how dangerous this can be. Those who could eat said that food was ok, but nothing particularly special.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Great food and friendly service. Very authentic dishes and loved the portion sizes! The presentation of the food was very nice too.👌 The flavours of all the dishes were so great and everyone really enjoyed the time here! The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because of one aspect of customer service I didn't appreciate - however aside from this, service was friendly and helpful. They brought out 2 entre dishes that we did not order. She insisted that we did, however we did not. She stood there insisting that we did and that we should take it. Then she went through the orders list she had written and the dishes were in fact not ordered by us. YET she maintained that we should take them. In this case, it was not our mistake, yet we were pressured to take them and pay for them. I would suggest that either she should have taken them back to the kitchen OR given them for free as they had been made. There are a number of areas to sit which makes it feel cosy and not too crowded. The decorations were nice and there is also a toilet. 🚻

Beautiful place, beautiful food. For me personally Sunrise something dish SUPER spicy. And I am a fan of spicy. But Madam B noodles in Tartuffe sauce better than actual non vegan version!!! Absolutely amazing. Other main dishes are ok, I am not the biggest fans of bowls but the ingredients are nicely cooked, well flavored... My friend though did not finish her bowl since it was too salty... I tried it, but for me it was also too salty. if you are a fan of bowl rice dishes,and prefer a bit saltier food, go for it. But even if you are, I would still go for truffle pasta (Madam B). It is something special! All the deserts and drinks are also visually amazing, special and worth trying 😍 EDIT: waiter was super nice!!! Very helpful with recommendations and payment. Danke noch Mal!

Sehr schönes Restaurant in einer ruhigen Straße, sodass man gut draußen sitzen kann. Das Essen war unglaublich lecker. Auch, wenn man sich nicht vegan ernährt, sollte man das Ban Vegan auf jeden Fall mal ausprobieren.

I've been there once, and I would say it's now my favorite restaurant in Berlin.

It's a really pretty & cozy place to spend the evening. But, the food was really disappointing! Bought the dish with roasted aubergine and the whole dish was raw, sauce underneath was just all sugar! It was like eating rice with cane sugar. Cold coffee was okay-ish. Starter was ok. Decided to try the place since the reviews were good. So, I'm not sure what happened. I'd like to think, this was a one off incident & may be give it another shot ?

Das Essen war sehr lecker, dass verdient wirklich mehr als 5 Sterne. Der Service ging aber überhaupt nicht, die jüngere Servicekraft war so inkompetent, ignorant und hätte definitiv viel mehr Umsatz machen können. Auch wenn wir sie rangewunken haben, kam sie nicht und hat sich mit anderen Dingen beschäftigt. Die Dame mittleren Alters, die leider nur hinter der Bar stand war aber zuckersüß. Ich würde hier wahrscheinlich nur noch Essen bestellen und nicht mehr ins Restaurant gehen. Essen aber wirklich überragend und eine absolute Empfehlung!

Waren zu zweit hier essen, Essen war super lecker. Leichte Abzüge gibt es für die nicht sehr aufmerksame Kellnerin, zuerst hat sie das falsche Getränk gebracht und anschließend die Vorspeise vergessen.

Nette Bedienung, leckeres veganes Essen, leckere Getränke und relativ günstig.

Wir waren hier jetzt schon zum 2. Mal essen und fanden es beide Male super lecker! Sowohl die Vorspeisen als auch die Hauptspeisen sind meiner Meinung nach perfekt gewürzt und schön angerichtet. Unser Kellner war überaus freundlich und hat uns jeden Extrawunsch erfüllt. Super Service! Wir werden in Zukunft öfter kommen. :)

10/10: Super leckere vegane asiatische Küche. Wir waren begeistert von den Aromen und der Qualität. Das Kokus Curry hat nochmal einen Tick feiner geschmeckt, als man sonst beim Vietnamesen bekommt. Als Fleischesser vermisst man hier nichts, im Gegenteil. Service und Ambiente waren auch super. Man kann hier sehr nett an der ruhigen Straße sitzen im Sommer. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Stetig schlechter geworden. Essen ist immer noch okay, Service zunehmend genervt und unfreundlich. War da gern Mittag essen, komme aber nicht mehr.

Wir haben eine Woche Urlaub in Berlin. Wir waren in der Ban Vegan. Wirklich überrascht, das Essen war köstlich,frisch und wunderschön dekoriert.Guter Service und begeistert.Gemütliche Atmosphäre im alten Vietnamesische Style. Angemessener Preis für eine sättigende Mahlzeit. Eine großartige Erfahrung. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
