Mama Vegan in Berlin

A very good vegan restaurant with a wide selection and very friendly staff. There's plenty of space and the prices are fair. We'll definitely come back. You can park nearby on the street.

I ordered Mama Tex Tofu, supposedly grilled tofu with dark sauce. The sauce had the consistency of brownish water. The "grilled tofu" was a whole block of tofu sitting in this watery broth. And to charge €14.50 for that: Absolutely outrageous.

It's on the pricier side, but the food is definitely delicious, nutritious, and flavorful. If you're looking for authentic Asian cuisine that's also vegan, this is the place for you.

We order from VeganMama every week. Always €40 and up. And every single time, we specifically add: "Please include a fork and napkin." And what do we get? Of course, nothing. No fork. No napkin. Ever. Consistent as clockwork—except in their ignorance. Now I'm standing at the market with my food. Should I eat the pasta telepathically? Or just throw myself headfirst into the box like a stray cat? Honestly: If you regularly fail to include a fork and a piece of paper, it's no longer an oversight, it's a service performance art piece. Food: okay. Service: comedy. Repeat offenders in "overlooking customer requests." Maybe next time just add: "Food only for people with cutlery from home."

I went back after a long time, and what can I say? It was fantastic again! 👍🏼 Delicious! 😋 It's indescribable how delicious vegan Asian dishes are. You absolutely have to try them! 🥰

not a lot of vegetarian Pho options have a broth as flavorful as this one

I'm becoming a fan. I've never consciously eaten vegan food before, and certainly not crispy vegan duck. I could have done without the duck, because everything else was incredibly delicious—especially the sauce with the rice. My husband was also very impressed with his meal. I imagine the other dishes are delicious too, so I'll definitely be eating there more often.

On Sunday afternoon, our group of six spontaneously decided to go to Mama Vegan because the restaurant was very close by. We were seated after a short wait. The service was very friendly and pleasant. The food and drink menu was comprehensive, with something for everyone. The drinks were reasonably priced but also very tasty. We opted for dishes with tofu and vegan duck. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The vegan duck was virtually indistinguishable from real duck in both taste and texture. The prices were excellent for what we got. We were completely satisfied and highly recommend this restaurant.

The place is great and the food is lovely. I’ve really enjoyed coming here. However, during my last visit a couple of weeks ago, the girl behind the bar was constantly using an electric fly zapper. Hearing the sound of insects being electrocuted like that felt quite disturbing. The place obviously gets a ton of vegan guests. I truly hope the management considers a smarter way to handle something like this 😭 I’m still sad when I think about that.

The food was really really delicious! The dishes were packed with subtle flavors and spices, and contained various vegetables. We loved the food, ambience, and the friendly service. The best restaurant we've visited so far in Berlin.

Tried various dishes. Whether with soy sauce or peanut sauce, vegan duck or fried tofu: all very tasty. Vegetables with a bite. Good prices, large portions, fast service. There's still room for improvement in the friendliness... Large outdoor area, but right on the T-Damm.

The meal for six people was good for everyone. Even before closing time at 10 p.m., the staff were visibly annoyed and downright unfriendly. Drinks couldn't be ordered until 9:45 p.m. At 10 p.m. sharp, we were shown the door. Not a word or even a halfway friendly farewell. That could have been much better!

A very nice place. The food was incredibly delicious. There was an incredible selection. A purely vegan restaurant that leaves nothing to be desired. The service was very friendly, and the food arrived super quickly. It's very spacious, and you can really enjoy yourself there. I would definitely go back.

We had a wonderful meal here. A huge selection on the menu. The translation is a bit off, though. The homemade elderflower juice with lime is wonderfully refreshing. The peanut soup (called peanut sauce) with seitan was also good. Another person in the group was less enthusiastic. His bowl was too hot (temperature) and contained too much soy sauce.

Mama Vegan at the Tempelhof S-Bahn station: I actually went to this restaurant and no other. Do they have to offer vegan food? I had "duck" with vegetables and rice. The texture of the "duck" was rubbery. It didn't taste like real duck. Probably with a lot of chemicals, flavor enhancers, stabilizers, etc. The Warsteiner beer (see photo) was also vegan. I'd rather have real duck. The vegetables were natural. The service (in the afternoon) wasn't particularly attentive.

Great Vietnamese food, all vegan, with some delicious drinks too. Friendly service, reasonable prices, English translations on the menu if needed, including for all their allergy information.

The atmosphere is authentic and lovingly designed. The food was not only a culinary highlight, but also beautifully presented. The staff was warm and attentive, which made the stay even more pleasant. Every bite was a delight; everything was delicious and prepared with great care. Delicious food, well-suited for vegans and vegetarians. However, I deducted a star because I ordered baked chicken from the waitress, but got fried chicken. When I told the waitress, he took the plate away, but the waitress brought it back and said we'd ordered fried chicken. She didn't change it, even though she didn't understand me and it was her fault. Otherwise, all the other dishes were fine. We then ordered a ginger ale, and it took forever to arrive. Tip: order by number, rather than saying it in words :)

Delicious vegan Vietnamese food!!! This is my second time eating here. Very tasty, fresh food with an authentic Vietnamese flavor – completely vegan! I especially recommend the pho and the summer rolls with avocado. I'm impressed by the friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. I'd be happy to come back!

We were there with a large group. Reviews of the food ranged from "surprisingly good" to "it was unsatisfactory." What is unacceptable, however, are the unpleasant restrooms. The unpleasant odor wafts from the basement all the way to the front entrance, making you almost want to leave immediately upon entering. Fortunately, we were in the back area.

We were there for Mother's Day, and I was surprised that the place wasn't particularly busy. We were completely satisfied; the food was excellent and the staff very friendly—what more could you want on a Sunday afternoon!

I ended up here very spontaneously and unplanned last week after the S-Bahn broke down again and I was more or less forced to look for something to eat in the area. But hey: the selection in Tempelhof is very good and that's how I ended up at Mama Vegan, because the combination of vegan restaurant and Vietnamese cuisine always sounds good to me. The first impression was also immediately positive: everything was very friendly and modern. I was there on Friday afternoon and was the only one in the restaurant. I was served accordingly quickly. The service was very friendly and attentive. The nice thing about vegetarian/vegan restaurants is that as a vegetarian you can easily try your way through the entire menu and here too you have a nice large selection. There are the classics with the well-known variants, where you can choose either tofu, duck, chicken or shrimp (here only in vegan), but also a few more exotic dishes. I was more conventional with the starter and chose steamed dumplings, while with the main course of Dau Phu Kho To Inari I was curious about something unknown. There was also a cool shandy. The starter was completely fine and very lovingly prepared, but tasted a bit dry for my taste. I missed the spices a little here. There was no sauce for dipping, just a dollop of sauce on top. Great from an aesthetic point of view, but a bit too little for me. I don't necessarily have to drown my dumplings in sauce, but if they're already a bit dry, then that's not ideal in combination with a little sauce. Overall, I was still happy with it. The main course, however, was on a completely different level. Behind the somewhat exotic name were steamed vegetables and tofu pockets stewed in a clay pot, which were filled with all sorts of things. The vegetables were perfectly cooked but still a little crunchy, which I really like. Nice selection too with mushrooms, green asparagus, beans, zucchini and more - significantly better than the usual combination of carrots, onions and peppers and hardly anything else. The tofu pockets and the sauce that went with them were an absolute taste explosion. Great seasoning, subtle spiciness and definitely something that not every Vietnamese restaurant offers. Very clear recommendation from my side. The portion was also quite large and even though I went in hungry, I was more than full afterwards. For the quality and quantity, the whole fun was really cheap in terms of price. I have to say that the competition in Berlin and especially Tempelhof is very strong and even for that, Mama Vegan still left a surprisingly positive impression. Will definitely come back.

I was here for the first time today. Ambience very nice and stylish. Friendly welcome and very hard working. Get assigned a place for two without a reservation. It was pretty close, last table. The food was super tasty, delicious and intense. Unfortunately, stars are deducted. 1) The wrong drink was delivered, I was offered to get the right one, but I refused because I didn't want this drink to be thrown away. After about 15 minutes the main course arrived, but unfortunately the four starters were forgotten. A bit annoying, but not doable. Personally, I have a little problem with errors like this and wouldn't come here again. But luckily, everyone can make their own picture.

The restaurant is stylishly and warmly decorated and the staff is very friendly. All dishes are vegan, although you could choose between different alternatives for almost all dishes. From vegan meat substitutes to classic seitan/tofu, you could choose your food as you wish. The food and the homemade lemonades were very good. The summer rolls tasted good, as you would expect. The red Thai curry was very aromatic and the vegetables were well cooked. There was also rice, which was kindly not just cooked but also further processed. A good restaurant for both vegans and non-vegans!

We went around 1300 on a weekday. It had a calm and relaxing atmosphere. We ordered soup (I think it was number 30 on the menu) and it was on the table in a short time. The soup was delicious and the portion was sufficient. It said it was less spicy, but those who don't eat spicy should be careful 😀 The staff is polite and friendly.

Little insider tip in Berlin. Easy to reach thanks to the great connection. Only 30 seconds from the subway. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is very delicious. It's really nice not having to look for vegan options on the menu as everything is vegan 😉😊 We would have loved to try everything. But somehow they had a bit of everything and can therefore recommend everything.

I have eaten here one of the best vegan pho soups (a bit on the spicier end, with some bird's eye chili slices). Beyond this, the service at Mama Vegan has also been very welcoming and I appreciated the calm ambience of the venue.. it was not packed and maddeningly loud like in a lot of restaurants around dinner time.

Furthermore, MamaVegan is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood - and EVERYTHING on the menu is vegan, delicious, freshly prepared and has a different taste than what I get served in chain restaurants, for example. The waiters are all super friendly, patient and as quick as the kitchen. The price is cheaper than most other restaurants in the area.
