Baborrito in Hamburg

Good Mexican food, but I think the reviews are a bit overrated. Solid, good food and service.

Quite hefty prices for a Mexican restaurant (20 Euro for a burrito with cheese on top, 6 Euro for a bottle of beer) and we had to wait for an hour to get our food. The food itself was good, although not the best in Hamburg. The interior of the restaurant is very nice though.

Good flavor for Tex-Mex food. The burrito is filling and has good flavors. You can order it extra spicy, and they also have chipotle (it tastes good, in my opinion). Good service.

A very special Mexican atmosphere invites you to linger and have a wonderful time. The decor is strikingly beautiful, and the food is wonderfully delicious. A visit is truly enjoyable, and you'll be wanting more.

The food was truly top-notch – super-delicious burritos, freshly prepared, and highly recommended. If you like good Mexican street food, this is the place for you. However, I'm deducting two stars because card payments weren't accepted. Although I was politely informed about this right away, I just don't think it's appropriate in 2025 to have to walk to the ATM first. It's a shame – if you paid by card, it would get full marks.

Delicious food. Ordered at 8:30 PM, food not on the table until 9:40 PM. It's packed, but there's room for improvement. It's hot inside and the air is bad. Outside, tiny tables on Autoposer Strasse. If the food hadn't been so delicious, it would have been one star less.

Super authentic, fantastic restaurant with amazing food!! Advance reservations are recommended! The wait for the food is a bit longer (as explained on the website), but it's worth it! A little tip: Just order the incredibly delicious Nachos Supreme beforehand, and you'll be sure to satisfy your hunger :) We'll be back!

If you're looking for really good, authentic Mexican food in Hamburg, you can't go past Baborrito! Everything is just right here: the quality of the ingredients, the atmosphere, and above all, the taste. The burritos are packed with fresh, lovingly prepared ingredients – perfectly seasoned, crunchy vegetables, and delicious salsa. Add to that the friendly team, who are always in a good mood and make you feel welcome. Whether for lunch or a relaxed evening with friends – Baborrito is always an excellent choice. Cash only! They mentioned it before i sat down, which i appreciated. ATM just nearby (end of street). Super accessible with a bus stop right out front. No lunch menu, so a but pricy. Burrito and burrito bowl were large portions and super delicious. I really liked the dressing on the side salad. The menu is quite extensive. I plan to come back again to try other items. Chicken Mole was super yummy.

I was there recently with a colleague – we had a reservation, and that was a good thing! The place was really crowded, but beautifully decorated. Colorful decor, a cozy atmosphere, and a lively shop where you immediately feel at home 🌮🌵 We both had burritos – super delicious, fresh, and exactly what you imagine good Mexican street food to be. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast. I can't say whether the place is truly authentic Mexican, but the overall package was good. The only downside: You can't pay by card, only cash. It's worth knowing before you come 💸 Otherwise, highly recommended for anyone who wants good burritos and a relaxed atmosphere. We'll be back! We ate: Chipotle Pollo Burritos and Guac con Pollo Burritos, both topped with cheese. Taquitos con Carne. The food tasted good. The service needs improvement. With the taquitos, they didn't ask which two types of meat we wanted. We were told beforehand that we wanted to eat together. Unfortunately, the taquitos arrived early due to a disagreement in the kitchen... At first, the burritos looked like they were missing the cheese for the topping. The waitress couldn't say anything about it. So we had to test them ourselves, and the burritos were topped with cheese after all. Nevertheless, one of us finished eating before the other two... Unfortunately, there was no beer on tap. Cash only! It's also worth noting that there's no fan inside. So, you were sweating quite a bit... All in all, there's still room for improvement.

Highly recommended. We had a great evening there. The food is delicious, the coffee is very good 😊, and Ceyda provided great service.

We had a wonderful dinner at Baborrito. It was delicious and the portions were generous. We didn't have a reservation (it was a Monday) and still got a table. The ambiance is Mexican. Overall, it's a bit dark, but cozy. We felt comfortable and can recommend the restaurant.

It was a great experience, we came with the family and we were very pleased. It is extremely delicious, a different taste. Although there is a little waiting time, it is definitely worth it. The employees are very attentive and smiling, thank you :)

I highly recommend this restaurant. The friendly welcome and service, the food was good and plentiful. I have a tomato allergy, which means I can't eat raw tomatoes. They helped me and made it right, even though almost all dishes contain pico de gallo (salsa), which is synonymous with Mexican food, like spicy food. The time from ordering to serving the food was good. I also liked the local water; I sipped the bottle like it was nothing. (Maybe that was because it was sweltering outside!) The cocktail menu is small but good... Cash is the order of the day here, so don't forget to fill your Portomanie with sips before you visit. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Hamburg. Note on accessibility: For someone with a walker/small wheelchair, the space would be fine, but a large wheelchair would be difficult to get inside. Alternatively, there are tables outside the restaurant. I had no problem with my walking sticks. There were a few small steps leading up to the restrooms, which might be a bit difficult for someone needing assistance. But there is a small shop (Grindelallee 26) where you can pick up takeaway food.

Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, and accommodating to individual requests. The tacos were delicious and authentic. We had to wait a bit, but the food made up for it.

Restaurant with very good Mexican food. Unfortunately, it was very busy the evening we were there, so we had to wait a long time. We were rewarded for the wait with excellent drinks (a great margarita) and excellent food (the tacos al padrón were amazing). Hopefully it won't rain next time so we can make even more use of the courtyard...

Delicious and great service! I had the mole burrito, which was tasty but could have used more "mole poblano" sauce! Service was fast, but unfortunately, one star deducted for "cash only."

Great service, super delicious, would go back anytime. During peak times, the food takes quite a while, but this is clearly communicated beforehand, so it's not a problem.

Very delicious food, nothing to complain about. The service was also very friendly. Unfortunately, the prices had gone up by almost €3 compared to the menu photos, so we were a bit shocked by the prices. Likewise, a very small margarita with lots of ice costs €13.50, which I thought was a lot for such a small drink. It's also unfortunately very noisy sitting outside, as it's on the main street, but the restaurant is nicely decorated inside. I would come back again from time to time :)

First here, it is better if you reserve a table, the problem is that for three people you only have a very small table, but still good food, burritos are great

My boyfriend and I spontaneously visited last week and were able to reserve a table online. We were both pleasantly surprised and very impressed by the food; it was truly delicious. 🍴😇 The value for money is also good. The only downside is that you can only pay in cash. 😊 Otherwise, everything was great; we'd be happy to come back. 😇

I'm Mexican🇲🇽 and I've been living in Germany for a while now, but so far I've been able to find a good place to serve Mexican food🥰. The food was delicious😋😮‍💨🤌🏻, the atmosphere was excellent👌🏻, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delivered to your table super fast. The prices are very affordable too. I definitely recommend it 100% to my fellow countrymen who want to remember and have a good meal like they were at home, and to those who want to try Mexican food without leaving Germany. So far, this is the best place for me, and I highly recommend it.

I went for lunch today with my Mexican girlfriend. Although she's always very skeptical about Mexican restaurants, we were both very impressed and it was 100% worth a visit 😊 On our next trip to Hamburg, BABORRITO will definitely be on our list again.

A very authentic Mexican restaurant, if not the most authentic in Hamburg (unfortunately, Hamburg's only other restaurants are Greek and Italian, and you'll find them on every street corner 😕)! Interesting decor and very cozy inside. The food took a long time, but it was very good!

It has been forever since I've found Mexican food to my liking I spent time in Mexico therefore I'm discerning. The atmosphere here is just fabulous the food is so good I left full and was very happy. I recommend you reserve it is quite popular at the moment!!!

A really cute little restaurant. Discovered by chance. Super friendly service. Ask for what you'd like (with coriander or baked with cheese). Large selection of food and drinks. Vegan dishes are also available. Everything is freshly prepared and well-seasoned. If you like it spicy, you can ask for it or choose the dish you like directly from the menu. There's outdoor and indoor seating, and a small terrace. It looks clean and well-maintained. We would go here again! Thank you for a lovely evening.

It's worth stopping by! The service is unobtrusive and very friendly! The food is excellent!!! The ambiance is colorful and clean, a bit too cluttered for my taste, but everyone has different tastes. It certainly seems like it's intentional, and the theme extends right down to the restroom 😂 It's a shame I'm only here on vacation, otherwise I'd definitely come more often!

we ordered delivery from this place and we loved it ! food was properly packaged and the special instructions were cafefully read . the sizes are generous and the tacos are very tasty. We ordered with Wolt , which arrived quite fast.

We were given a time slot between 6 and 8 p.m., and the food arrived at 7:50 p.m., but we had 10 minutes more time. The restaurant was very busy, but the service staff were few and very busy. The ambiance is very colorful.

The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food and drinks is really good. €3 extra to top a burrito with cheese was a bit excessive. But there wasn't much cheese. You can't beat it. Very cool Mexican atmosphere. Authentic, friendly service and super helpful, even with kids who can't decide because they don't know what they're ordering... ;-) The price/performance ratio is also totally reasonable! The food was very tasty. Everything was a bit spicy as standard, and then there were great sauces to make it even hotter.

Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. Although I had sat down at a free table as usual, a member of staff asked me to get up without any empathetic explanation, stating that all the tables were supposedly reserved – even though there were no reservation signs visible and several seats remained empty. I found it particularly strange that I was then told I was only allowed to take one piece of the chocolates laid out on all the tables. This kind of treatment was humiliating to me and in no way hospitable. I would have appreciated more courtesy and respect – even if all the tables had indeed been reserved, there is a more respectful way to communicate this. Based on my experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

I've been there three times now, and the food was always delicious. However, the wait time got longer and longer. From the initial 30 minutes, I had to wait 1.5 hours on my last visit, even though the restaurant wasn't full. Additionally, our order was delivered to another table, which caused a further delay. The wait time is too long for fast food! Recommended for women who spend 1.5 hours or more chatting anyway, but not for me at this wait time.

The food and drinks, ambiance, and service are just as top-notch as we've experienced at various locations in Southern California. Please keep it up so we can take a trip to the Southwest of America in Hamburg too! 😋

There are not a lot of really good Mexican restaurants in Hamburg, which actually taste delicious and not just look good. The food here is excellent and well worth it. Beautifully decorated and very friendly service. Seating now outside in the garden and on the street in nice weather. Highly recommended.

Would not recommend this place at all! If your time is precious, go somewhere else. I waited over 1.5-2 hours for my food, which is insane and not justified for any place. I came here because I saw a high goggle rating and it was walkable from my hotel. I am from California and i know what authentic burritos taste like and this food was far from Mexican food! It was loaded with sauces which overpowered the taste. Portion size was great but not sure if it was worth $25 avg per person. The servers seated us within 5-7 minutes and kept telling us the food is coming in a bit but it didn’t come for 90 minutes! Only after 45 minutes, they brought us some nacho chips which seemed straight out of a tortilla bag with onions and jalapeños on it. Long story short, save your time and money, don’t be fooled by the 4.9 Google rating here and go some where else

Unfortunately not recommended. Considering that it is fast food and not made in-house, but rather products from the normal food industry, it is far too expensive and took 1 hour. It is pointed out that you should order an appetizer because it takes so long. Also NO CARD PAYMENT possible which was a big disappointment. The staff seemed very confused. Only the ambience and furnishings were convincing.

We waited a while for a proper table and were warned when ordering that the food could take a while. The starter also came relatively quickly and after about an hour the food also came. The food itself was tasty, but in this price range I would have expected homemade tacos, for example. The waiting time was also probably due to disorganization, especially since tacos and burritos are fast food. Payment is only possible in cash, which is very strange and rather unfriendly for a restaurant these days. Unfortunately, the high price and the fact that I can't pay by card mean that I won't be coming back.
