BABIKYU in Berlin

A spontaneous visit – and a truly pleasant surprise! I was truly thrilled by this spontaneous visit. We actually just wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and were looking for somewhere nearby to get good spare ribs. This restaurant caught our eye – it was very close, and we went without any great expectations. I was all the more surprised to find that it was Korean cuisine – and I loved it! All the dishes were consistently delicious: the meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned – just to my taste. Especially since I'm sensitive to too much sweet or too salty, I was pleasantly surprised by how balanced everything was. The staff was – as I've come to expect from Korean restaurants – very friendly, attentive, quick, and welcoming. The location is simple and straightforward, yet stylishly decorated. The only small downside: we sat on a long wooden bench, which unfortunately became a bit uncomfortable after more than two hours. Otherwise, everything was top-notch from start to finish – great food, great service. I'd definitely come back!

The food was tasty, and everything we tried had good flavor. Based on how it was served — on a grill plate — I was expecting one of those Korean-style meals where you finish cooking the food yourself at the table. Instead, it came already cooked, and the grill mainly just kept it warm while taking up quite a bit of space. So in that sense, I expected a bit more from the experience, but overall the meal itself was enjoyable.

Best Korean food in southern berlin. Very palatable as an Indian. Would 100% recommend. Pro tip: ask for scharf sauce 😁 We ordered; Yangnyeom chicken Bimbimbas chicken Also a bottle of Soju & a coke🍻

We had the sweet and sour chicken and another with spicy sauce, and sesame balls for dessert. All I can say is, they were absolutely divine. The main courses would have been enough for three, but we ate them between us. The service was quick and very friendly. Highly recommended.

We stopped by for lunch on Sunday following a recommendation. There were several free parking spaces on Mehringdamm. We were the only customers at first. The food tasted as good as it looked.

I go ofter to this place. I love the bbq bulgoggi, just perfect, and last time I tried the japchae, which also was very tasty. The place itself is also really cute. Definitely one of my favourite Korean restaurants in Berlin.

Perfect Korean fried chicken burger, perfect sandwiches. We had auch a great time and the food was amazing. The staff are very friendly, the place has nice atmosphere and overall it's a straight 5-star for us. We would definitely go again when we're around this part of town. Recommended!

Very tasty Korean food – European-style, not spicy. The food was delicious. The kimchi was well-fermented and had an authentic flavor, but only slightly spicy. The spare ribs were tender and juicy. The bulgogi with gochuang sauce and bi bim bap with plenty of vegetables – both very generous portions and delicious. The homemade lemonade is fruity and just the right sweetness. The service was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a consistent industrial style with stone walls, steel, solid wooden tables, and stools. Even the restrooms were clean. Everything was clean.

For us—and we know many Korean restaurants—it's the best in Germany. We drive all the way from the Rhineland to Berlin just to eat there, and out of nostalgia, because we lived there for a few years.

The menu features dishes that are supposed to be smoked. However, the beef brisket definitely hadn't seen a single second of smoke and wasn't smoked. As a BBQ and smoker fan, that's a no-go for me, and the menu needs to be changed.

I've been to the restaurant about 10 times. Starting yesterday, I haven't. The wait was very long, even though the restaurant was only a quarter full. The food was cold. On top of that, everything had become expensive and unhealthy. A few hours later, my body reacted with symptoms of food poisoning, which continues to this day. The disappointment was immense.

Food was just okay, but the vegetables didn’t taste fresh, more like they were spiced up. On top of that, we were charged for something that never arrived at our table. The payment situation was handled very poorly: instead of offering my friend and I a simple solution, the staff made us feel like we were the problem and that making us pay through PayPal was some kind of BIG favor; even after spending almost 50€ there. This is NOT how you treat premium clients that spend more than the average customer at your restaurant. Not a welcoming experience, and I won’t be coming back. Cannot recommend this place to my friends. AVOID.

This was our third visit to this restaurant and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we were disappointed this time: all our glasses weren't really clean, and we had to have one replaced. The Korean beef BBQ, which we'd already enjoyed twice before, tasted great again. However, the quality of the meat was far below our expectations. More than half of the meat was tough, some of it gristly, and very marbled. We couldn't really enjoy this meal. The service couldn't be blamed for this and was as good as usual. After this experience, we're not sure if we'd give this restaurant a fourth chance.

A great place to catch up with your family and friends over dinner. I really wanted to try their tables grilled BBQ but it’s for 2 people or more. But if you go alone like me, there’s also more choices to choose from the menu. I got Bibimbap with pork belly and crispy chicken wings (3.pcs), it was soooo delicious, I thought one bibimbap wouldn’t be enough for me but it was quite big so I also have to pack home. The wings are actually crispy like the name. Can pay with card and cash, you also don’t have to make a reservation too but if you go with more then 4 people, I think it’s better to make one.

The food at BABIKYU is good and tasty. The service was friendly and fast. However, the ambiance wasn't very cozy. It had a bit of a barnyard feel. The benches are hard and uncomfortable. As I said, the food is good, but the restaurant isn't suitable for long lingering.

babykiyu in the Bergmannkiez neighborhood is a true culinary gem – modern, minimalist, and yet full of soul. If you want to experience Korean food in its finest, most stylish form, this is the place to be. The restaurant combines aesthetic purism with honest, artisanal cuisine that's a far cry from what you'd normally expect from Korean street food. The menu is deliberately small, which is always a good sign for me – quality clearly prevails over quantity here. The kimchi variations, the ssam (roll-your-own ssam with lettuce leaves), and the perfectly marinated meat are simply outstanding. The vegetarian options are also lovingly composed. Everything is fresh, seasonal, and creatively interpreted, without losing sight of the roots of Korean cuisine. What makes babykiyu special is the atmosphere. It's calm, stylish, almost meditative – the interior is minimalist, with natural materials and clean lines. You feel like you're in a modern interpretation of a tea room. No unnecessary frills, just good food, good design, and a pleasantly calm atmosphere. The bottom line: babykiyu isn't a place for fast food—it's a place to enjoy, understand, and unwind. A true highlight in the Bergmannkiez district for anyone who wants to discover Korean cuisine on a new level.

The best Korean restaurant in Berlin that I know :)

It was okay. We expected to get a grill and be able to grill whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. The staff takes care of the placing and turning. So basically, your chosen food is prepared on your table. It's ready when the restaurant says it's ready. The food is really delicious, but the experience wasn't there. On the other hand, the staff often comes by. And if you need anything else, just ask. The place looks great.

Good Korean food. Great for barbeque. Good portions and reasonable pricing with good service. The other main dishes are also worth the try.

Highly praised, but far below expectations. The food quality was mediocre and overpriced for this segment. The staff was friendly, but overwhelmed. The still Coca-Cola probably came from a chain restaurant cooler. A shame.

We accidentally made a reservation for the wrong day, but we didn't realize it until we got to the restaurant. The staff took it in good spirits and quickly found a solution. 👍 We had a delicious meal and a great time—we'd love to go back! 👍

We were invited to this restaurant yesterday, and our verdict: *yummy, yummy, yummy*! From soup to ribs, a mega barbecue experience to a fantastic dessert. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you for this wonderful culinary delight.

Nice Korean restaurant. The food was excellent and served very quickly. We paid just under €55 for two people. The menu is very extensive and varied.

The chefs are great, everything is delicious. But the waiters here are the worst. I ordered a cocktail, and after 30 minutes the waiter came to me and said that they don't have Hugo, then I ordered Aperol, after 30 minutes the waiter came to me and said that they don't have Aperol. The serving of the dish was "poorly", they threw everything on the table very obscenely, although the restaurant was empty. I assume that they had time to bring and put the plates properly

We had three starters and one main course each. The wakame salad was as expected, the crispy chicken pieces were terrific—better than expected. If I had to find a fault, it could have been a bit more crunchy. The dumplings were also as expected—the dips could have used a bit more flavor for my taste—the direction was great, but a little more of all the seasonings, just more intense. The Korean burger was cooked perfectly medium, the bun was fluffy and not soggy, and the pickled vegetables were perfect. The ramen burger with braised beef was reminiscent of sauerbraten, had been braised for a long time, and tasted great. However, we found the ramen in the bun to be too much, hard, and too flavorless. The idea was great, but the ramen didn't enhance the burger. The homemade fries could have been fried a little longer or hotter; they were a bit soggy on the inside, but taste-wise, there was nothing to complain about. The service was exceptionally friendly and the prices were very fair. We'd be happy to come back.

There were six of us there on Friday evening, so we made a reservation in advance. It was incredibly easy to get there. The service was friendly and quick. And the food is simply amazing. The Korean BBQ was obviously amazing, but we also tried the appetizers, burgers, and other dishes as a group. All were excellent.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were ultimately very happy to have found it. Excellent service. Friendly, fast, and courteous. The food was also very good. For starters, we had mandu and ribs, both excellent. The ribs practically fell apart. For the main course, we had beef bulgogi for two, also very tasty. All in all, highly recommended.

The food was good, no question. But communication with the service staff was difficult – it was almost impossible to understand German or English. Despite an explicit request for the starters to be served separately, the main courses arrived just a few minutes later. This seemed rushed and left the impression that they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible – despite our reservations. The same pattern was evident at the neighboring table. Overall, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the value for money, and another visit is out of the question for us.

The three of us ordered BBQ, one vegetarian and the others chicken and meat, unfortunately everything was mixed on a stovetop, so the vegetables and the glass noodles were mixed into the meat. My daughter had food poisoning, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea after eating the chicken. So not so great if you spend €115 on eating out. I can't recommend it.

I come across this Korean bbq place during my stroll and it was a great try. I originally hoping to get Korean BBQ but it is a minimum of 2 portions order. So, I choose to have beef bulgogi. It did not disappoint. The taste and texture hit the spot. Also, I had seafood pancake which was really great. It has squid, shrimp, and scallions. Although their pancake is on chewy kind and I prefer the crispy type it was still okay for me.

The food was bad, and also they are not clear with the prices at the menú. It was very expensive for the quality of the food, there are better place in Berlin with better food

We had BBQ there and it was quite okay. Unfortunately, it doesn't correspond to the typical Korean BBQ where you can grill yourself at the table - instead the meat is served in a kind of hot wok. However, the service was very friendly and the food overall was still tasty and well seasoned.

Luckily we had a reservation because the restaurant is very popular. This is my fourth time here because the food is simply delicious. Coat hooks on the walls for jackets would be the icing on the cake. There were 7 of us and we shared three starters, the Bulgogi BBQ four times and dessert. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

It tasted really good!!!!! but I have to say something really not Korean… like the rice – it should be the rounf sticky rice (sushi rice), not Basmati or Jasmine. And the so many sauces… oh no. Also, please serve the banchan (vegetable side dishes) in separate small dishes! It felt so wrong to have all the kimchi and everything just mixed together like that..

Pretty shop with a dark atmosphere. The food is very average with no highs or lows. I missed any kind of sophistication in the food. The portions were unfortunately a bit small for the price, but this is unfortunately becoming the case more and more often. The fries in particular deserve special mention, they were actually very good.

Friendly service, food so-so, the quality wasn't that great somehow, but relatively expensive (40€ per person). When a lot of people are having their barbecue at the same time, the air in the room is pretty disgusting, not for sensitive people.

We had a great evening, something different and special! The appetizers were delicious (fried mandu, superbly marinated chicken wings), the BBQ (chicken bones and beef) was plentiful and almost too much, burgers with salmon (burgers very good, fries could be crispier) and ramen (well, ramen 🙂) All in all, a lovely evening, very friendly service, not a bargain, but good value for money! Keep it up! Oh yes, coat hooks would be really handy when sitting on stools 😉

Very rustic atmosphere. But we liked it a lot. A few hooks for the jackets would be nice. There is a clothes rack, but you only discover it when you go to the toilet. The food and service were great. I had ribs that were super tender and tasted perfect. I can highly recommend it.

Welcome to a hip Korean grill restaurant in the Bergmannstraße neighborhood. The atmosphere is quaint, the furnishings rustic, a bit of a loft atmosphere. The BBQ is prepared at the table by friendly staff. The food is authentic and tasted wonderful. Overall, the BABIKYU is recommended, the price level is mid-range.

Really great! Saturday evening without a reservation, the restaurant was completely full. Nevertheless, we were very kindly offered a table where we could finish our meal in peace despite the lack of time - great! Really outstanding service throughout the entire evening. The food is higher priced, but simply incredibly tasty. A very good selection, especially “simple” things like edamame have their own twist thanks to sesame and sesame oil and were prepared in a completely different way than the classic way. So: absolute recommendation!!!!

By far, in my opinion, the best Korean BBQ in Berlin. Ambience: 5 stars because in summer you can sit at large tables outside and watch the hustle and bustle on Mehringdamm without being disturbed by traffic and when you sit inside the restaurant simply has a rustic feel that is very pleasant. Music plays in the background but not too loudly, there is a large spray painting on the wall that is very nice but in colors that are not immediately noticeable or are bright. Service: 5 stars I have been here so many times and not once have I had any problems with waiting time for food or unfriendly staff etc. Really on the contrary, food always comes in a reasonable time frame, the service is very courteous and explains or provides answers to questions Things at the table to choose from etc. Just all around very pleasant. Food 5 stars: I've already tried a few dishes and I've never had anything I didn't like. Of course it's subjective whether you like something or not, but the quality of the ingredients feels high, everything always comes to the table hot, there are actually different versions of every dish, including vegetarian ones, of course, and the Korean bbq that comes to the table with a grill All I can say is that it's just perfect if you're going out for a longer meal with several friends, colleagues or acquaintances and want to try out different things.
