The menu extends far beyond sushi: pho, bún bo nam bo, summer rolls, fried wontons, and other Vietnamese classics ensure that even guests who don't like sushi will easily find something to their liking. The drinks menu is varied and well-curated: in addition to classic soft drinks and aperitifs, there's a selection of cocktails—both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Cocktails are priced at around €10. The restaurant was very busy during our visit. Reservations—especially on weekends—are highly recommended. The seating is relatively close together, which can make it noisy when the restaurant is full. However, the overall ambiance is very appealing. The quality of the food was a pleasant surprise for a fusion restaurant. Despite the high volume of customers, the service was friendly. However, the flow of the service seemed somewhat chaotic at times, likely due to less-than-ideal internal communication. The restrooms were less than impressive; they could have been cleaner and tidier. Given the large number of guests, this is understandable, though there's room for improvement. The bill for two of us came to around €70, including tip – a price I consider reasonable. If you're expecting traditional Japanese cuisine, this isn't the place for you. But if you're open to creative fusion dishes, you'll definitely find something to your liking and leave satisfied.

There were four of us, and despite having a reservation, we had to wait about 30 minutes. First, we waited outside in the cold, and later it was crowded in the entrance area. It was extremely busy, the door was constantly opening and closing for customers picking up orders, and our table right next to the door was freezing cold. The sushi was really delicious. Perhaps the chaos was due to it being a Friday evening. Good food, but reservation and guest management could be better.

First of all: the sushi is delicious! The prices are a bit high; we paid €37 per person, but it was simply good, tasty sushi. BUT the service was not good. You wait a long time, orders are forgotten, and they're already clearing the furniture outside at 10 p.m., even though the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. and we were still eating. You don't feel welcome. It's a shame, because unfortunately, that's exactly why we won't be coming back, even though it was delicious.

I was here at lunchtime. The summer rolls with shrimp were tasteless; they only contained noodles and iceberg lettuce. The sauce was mango, which was unusual. And unfortunately, it was completely runny (see video). The sushi didn't look anything like the photo. The whole avocado on top was missing; instead, there was lamb's lettuce with the root on top, and the five rolls were three lumps that were so badly rolled they fell apart. Despite that, it tasted okay. The teriyaki with duck was a complete waste of money. Nothing tasted fresh at all; the vegetables were overcooked, and the sauce tasted like a store-bought sauce that had been reheated. I'm absolutely disappointed and didn't even finish half of it, even though I was so hungry 😞 It's not good value for money.

We had a table reserved, arrived on time, and then stood outside for about 30 minutes with four other groups because the tables were still occupied. We even received email reminders to be on time! All the waiting groups had reserved for the same time slot, and no one got in at their scheduled time. Guests stood in the entrance waiting, and those at the front tables were sitting in their jackets because the door was constantly open. The tables were far too close together. Sorry, but I understand that you can optimize for maximum guest efficiency, and this was quite chaotic and not the right atmosphere for a nice meal. The service afterward was good and attentive. The food was okay. I wouldn't go back. What a shame! Tip: Check the restrooms during the evening service and maybe clean them. They weren't pleasant either...

The food is delicious. Really tasty and amazing sushi. The price is similar to other sushi restaurants, a bit higher, but still relatively inexpensive. The service could be a touch friendlier, but it's adequate. The atmosphere is a little cramped, which feels a bit unusual, but it's fine.

The ambiance is really nicely designed. Only cash payments are accepted. The drink prices are too high for the size of the portions. Unfortunately, the sushi wasn't very good. The mango was sour and half-raw. Not acceptable for mango sushi. We mentioned this when asked, but there was no response. The pho was okay, but more of a clear broth with noodles than what one would expect from pho.

We had a reservation for 9pm but we had to wait with around 10 people to be seated. After 30 mins of wait, our food also took very long to arrive. Staff was nice and attentive but despite the good food, I wouldnt come again.

We had a reservation for 6:00 PM: There was a long line in front of the restaurant, all with reservations. Around 6:30 PM we finally got to our table, and as compensation, we received a complimentary appetizer, which settled the matter for us! It must be said that the restaurant is very small and the seating is quite close. However, the food is absolutely delicious!! Even though the restaurant was completely full, everything was served quickly. Highly recommended.

Our sushi platter was rather disappointing. The sushi itself was average in taste, and I had somehow expected more. We ordered for dine-in and ate it at home. Perhaps my expectations were too high. It was also very busy, which might have contributed to the poor quality. I wasn't convinced by the value for money. I will order from there again at a later date and update my review if I am pleasantly surprised.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Baba Sushi Restaurant. The sushi was small and the taste was underwhelming. The main course with coconut milk was also very greasy and, unfortunately, tasted awful. However, the service was particularly disappointing. The waiters were unfriendly and disrespectful. While clearing the table, one waiter spilled sauce on the table and even on my brother. Instead of apologizing, he brought a cloth and threw it on the table, telling my brother to clean it up himself – completely inappropriate! Overall, a very unpleasant experience – we definitely won't be returning.

We always enjoy going to Baba Sushi. They have an incredibly wide selection of sushi, and the curry is always delicious too. The tables are relatively close together, but there's still plenty of space. We're deducting one point for the service because they don't accept card payments!

We had a reservation and came all the way from Mettmann. When we arrived, there were already people standing on the street. The place was completely overcrowded. We were told to wait on the street despite having a reservation, even though it was clear. They didn't tell us how long we would have to wait despite the reservation. There were about 20 people at the door, all of whom also had reservations. If you offer a reservation, it's outrageous to then overbid the place so that you still can't get a table. We had planned a lovely evening for two, but unfortunately, it was completely ruined. I'm extremely angry and disappointed. This is truly outrageous.

The reservations are fake. We had made a reservation for 8 p.m. and ended up standing in the doorway of the completely full restaurant with over 20 other people, waiting for a table. After ten minutes, and with several more people waiting, we gave up and went to the Vietnamese restaurant across the street. It's an unpleasant scam; a restaurant might as well do without reservations altogether.

If I work with reservations, I should use them. We were standing in front of the door with about 20-30 people, all of whom had reservations, and the place was completely packed at 7 p.m. Despite our reservation, we waited 45 minutes and, after complaining to the waiter, we were given an appetizer on the house. We could have done without the spring rolls. When we wanted to pay, there was no cash payment, as stated on the menu. The sushi was delicious, but the rest could be improved.

I came here on a recommendation, but I was disappointed. There were five of us and we had made a reservation, but we only got a very small table. In the middle of our meal, another table was abruptly placed in front of us and our food was pushed to the side – very unprofessional. The service was generally poor. The food was also disappointing: the rice fell apart and was of poor quality. There are definitely better places to eat.

Extremely satisfied! The Hangover Platter with various sushi options was delicious. For starters, we had gyoza and spring rolls, which were okay, but nothing special. If you want to grab a bit of standard Rewe sushi, this is the place for you. The tables for two are so close together that you think you're sitting at the same table (maximum sales per square meter, after all). The service is absolutely annoying; they have no sense of when to speak to you. You're constantly being asked by different waiters whether you've already ordered or whether you want anything else, or whether you need anything else, while you're still on the last bite and the food is already being cleared away. Unfortunately, it's very reminiscent of a conveyor belt serving food, designed to get as many people as possible and then get rid of them. We won't be back!!!

For a few reasons: - We were initially brought the wrong food, and my friend had to spit out a piece of sushi when the waitress took it back. - We were seated so close to the neighboring table that it felt more like a dinner for four than for two. - Cash is the only payment method. - Parking is very difficult.

So that wasn't the problem. What really ruined the entire evening, however, was the service: • My companion's sushi platter was cleared away while I was still eating. • While I was finishing my last sip, the waiter was already standing by, ready to clear the table. • Shortly afterward, we were practically told to pay and leave. At 6:55 p.m., we had settled the bill—less than an hour's wait for what was supposed to be a relaxing dinner. Note to other guests: Payment is cash only. We knew this in advance, but many visitors might be surprised. Given the longer journey and the feeling of being "fed up," we won't be returning. Perhaps it was just a bad day for the staff, but a restaurant should make guests feel welcome.

The food is very good, that has to be said without reservation. But even with a reservation, you end up waiting for more than 20 minutes outside the door or in the entrance area, directly behind other guests. This is simply poorly organized and spoils the anticipation of a pleasant evening. The tables are placed far too close together, the entire room feels cluttered, and as a result, it has a bit of a cafeteria feel.

Very cool place :) very tasty :) sushi is so fresh that it falls apart and it is impossible to take it with chopsticks 😂 Especially if you don't know how to use chopsticks :) My friend couldn't, and took it with his hands 😂 The atmosphere is good, there were a lot of people :) However, later they seated people very close to each other, when there were a lot of free seats by the end of the evening. The location is great :) there is a city parking lot not far from the establishment, a 5-minute walk away. We went in without a reserved table 🥰 In general, it was super-delicious 😎 I recommend it 🫶🏻😌

The restaurant is very nice, but I felt I didn't know what to order, so I called the employee to help us, but he was too stubborn to understand what I wanted. We ordered mixed tuna, salmon, and shrimp. Sushi. Vegetable wraps and vegetable salad. The food was more than delicious. But the restaurant doesn't have air conditioning, and the tables are very hot, especially in the summer. The employees are nice, helpful, and cheerful.

Ordering more drinks or making it known at the end that you want to pay is quite difficult. The restaurant itself is also quite loud when it's full. Despite reservations, there are seating issues. I had a reservation for two people and we were seated at a table for four, and then two strangers joined us. This was very disruptive and not a pleasant experience. We also had to pay in cash because card payments were apparently not accepted. Unfortunately, this wasn't mentioned anywhere on Instagram or during the reservation process.

Excellent sushi, we will always come back

We made a reservation for four people and went. We ordered a few sushi dishes, a chicken nugget, and a chicken rice dish. We were quite pleased with our meals. The cocktails weren't particularly impressive, and the alcohol content was low. Because people arrived without reservations and had formed a line, they didn't allow us to sit any longer, and they brought the bill without us even asking. It's a good option if you're just going to eat and leave, but it's not a place for extended seating.

Nevertheless, if you're looking for good sushi and have a bit of time to spare, you'll find it here. I would go back, but only well prepared with cash in your pocket and a bit of patience.

We finally got a seat at a simple street table right by the road – not very cozy, noisy, and lacking any atmosphere. Inside, it was extremely crowded, very loud, and the tables were packed tightly together. The atmosphere was unfortunately chaotic. The service staff were completely overwhelmed, rushed around the room in a stressed manner, and even forgot to bring our backpack. Another negative point: There is no parking directly at the restaurant, and you can only pay in cash – that's really outdated these days. The sushi was delicious, though – that has to be said. If you really want to go there, you should choose a quieter weekday and be patient.

Baba Sushi not only scores points with its creative, visually perfectly presented sushi compositions, but also with a consistently friendly and attentive team who welcomed us warmly. Despite our stroller, highchair, and other items, there was enough space – we were able to park the stroller comfortably to the side of the table, which isn't always the case when visiting with family. The sushi was fresh, boldly combined, and beautifully presented – a real treat for the eyes and palate. We especially liked the fact that our kids were catered to, and the atmosphere was both stylish and relaxed. A quick note: Only cash payments are accepted – something to be aware of in advance. A place that shows: sushi enjoyment is also possible with the family. We'll definitely be back!

Disastrous service. We explained three times and showed with our hands what we wanted to order. It was still entered incorrectly, and we ended up having to pay double the price because there were supposedly more sushi rolls on the plate. The discussion lasted almost 20 minutes because we didn't understand what we were paying, which was the waitress's fault! We were told it was our responsibility to recount. What?! We go out to eat to enjoy ourselves, not to count sushi rolls. Never again.

This is the absolute best sushi shop in North Rhine-Westphalia and the surrounding area! I've eaten a lot of sushi, but I'm always impressed by BaBa Sushi! The only thing that annoys me is the reservations... sometimes you wait 30-40 minutes even with a reservation... The staff is always super friendly! The sushi is freshly prepared and the fish is fresh. As you can see from the attached pictures and videos, I've been here several times and can summarize by saying that while it's more expensive and you have to wait a bit, the food and service are top-notch! There's no point in complaining about the prices, because, as I said, the fish is fresh and sushi is a luxury in general. There's no point in complaining. TOP-notch shop!

I don't understand the previous reviews; my experience was completely different. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated right away. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and the service was excellent. Yes, it was quick, but that's only because the staff are very efficient. The food was exceptionally good, and you could taste how fresh it was. When I mentioned that it was my birthday, I was given a baked banana with ice cream and a candle. That was very thoughtful and nice. I'd rather have quick, attentive staff than have to wait forever for my order or food. Highly recommended

Appetizers (gyoza + edamame) were good. The quality of the nigiri fish was questionable; it had a very firm bite. Crunchy rolls had no flavor; you could almost only taste the fat and the breading. The homemade lemonade was amazing! Service was a little disjointed, but otherwise very nice. Conclusion: I'd come back for the lemonade and the gyoza, but skip the sushi.

We tried sushi here and loved it! We ordered 1 inari, 1 avocado maki, 1 veggie IO, and 1 veggie crunchy for two people. We definitely recommend this combo. If you're hungrier, maybe order one more veggie crunchy—they were truly delicious. I also had the jasmine tea, and one pot is enough for three full cups. The service was friendly, and everything was brought out pretty quickly. Our inari were initially forgotten, but after we alerted a waitress, we received them in no time. The interior was also beautiful. We would definitely come back :)

Both the sushi and the curry are very good – my absolute favorite is number 223 Tori Crunchy. Unfortunately, you sit very close to your neighbors, and it can get loud. On our last visit, we were pressured to pay after 50 minutes, even though we had reserved a table for 1.5 hours. This unfortunately put a rather unpleasant end to the visit. Important to note: you should definitely reserve a table, and you can only pay in cash.

Five of us were here on a Saturday and had the large sushi platter with a few appetizers. My request for a light diet (I was having stomach problems at the time) was also taken into consideration. The kids devoured all the sushi and were stuffed. Apparently, it tasted really good, too. The staff were very friendly and attentive when ordering, and the price was reasonable for five people who all had their fill. We'd be happy to come back. Thank you.

Everything happened very quickly, which is generally a good thing, but just as quickly, with intrusive questions and observations, you got the feeling that you were no longer wanted and that you should leave now. When we finished eating, we were asked so many times within a very short space of time if we wanted anything else that we felt so unwelcome that we left within a little over an hour. So eat well. Service Good, but definitely not for Friday evening if you would like to sit with friends for a little longer (than 1 hour) and enjoy the evening.

The sushi selection is creative and fresh, especially the special rolls such as the “Fire Tuna Roll” or the colorful “Hangover Platter” were a real eye-catcher – both in terms of taste and appearance. The Vietnamese dishes also offer a great variety, especially for guests who don't just want sushi. The ambience is modern and stylish, with a nice Asian touch - the tatami seating in the back area in particular gives the whole thing an authentic flair. Service was friendly, although it can take a little longer during busy times. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality. A small point deduction for the sometimes longer waiting times - otherwise it would have been a 5-star experience. I'll definitely be back!

We followed the TikTok trend and ate at BaBa. It was worth it!!! I've been to many sushi places but the food here is out of heaven. Simply VERY DELICIOUS! We came a second time right before we left Düsseldorf. The only minus: only cash payment possible.

Everything was fresh and tasty, nothing to complain about in terms of price, even the price was only 10x better quality than in the commercial market. Drinks don't cost half a kidney like in other places so top 5/5 stars from me.
