Service was really bad, they constantly forgot to look at our table. The drinks only arrived when we first got our food. Sushi is mediocre at most. My advice: go somewhere else!

Some of the tastiest and best sushi I've eaten. It always tastes extremely tasty and, above all, is very attractively prepared. We often eat the Best Friends, Habgover or Sumo platter and share it with several people. Everyone was always excited! 😊 Somehow my little highlight is always the miso soup, which comes first. The only two disadvantages are that you can only pay in cash. But that's not a problem once you know it. And in the summer if you sit outside it is a little noisy as it is right on the street where there is a lot of through traffic.

Vegans & vegetarians beware! We ordered sushi today and picked it up. We were given a pickup time, but when we got there at the appropriate time, we had to wait 15-20 minutes because the food was then prepared. Afterwards, when paying in cash, the change was kept without asking, as if it was clear that this would be a tip until we actively asked for it. At home we noticed that instead of 2x avocado, 2x avocado salmon had been packed, which of course wasn't okay for vegetarians. There were also a few drops of cocktail sauce over the vegan maki (definitely not vegan) and small leftover salmon mixed between the vegetables (it was obviously cut on a board and mixed) - also not suitable for vegans or vegetarians! We definitely won't order here again. P.S. No allergens are declared on the menu, which is mandatory in Germany.

Super tasty food, good value for money

I choose some sushi rolls and chicken in teriyaki sauce. They were so delicious. Actually I will go there again. I drank Hugo it was nice too but I tasted better than here. Overall dont think just go there and taste sushi rolls especially chruncy and chicken in teriyaki sauce

Everything so far so good, the food is delicious, but the fact that the customer is literally forced to pay after less than an hour is a disgrace. Without my asking, the bill was simply brought to me!

We have been going there on and off for many years and have never been disappointed. The best sushi around! In the evening you should/must make a reservation and card payment is not possible.

Despite my reservation for my birthday, including the request for a quiet table, we were seated next to the table that was watching football loudly on the iPad (neither Germany nor Japan was playing). When I resisted, a table was found 3m further, in the middle of the shop. The restaurant was full, which made it very noisy and the staff seemed very stressed. When we then asked whether the soup would be included in the menu, we first critically checked whether we had actually ordered it. A lot of service was lost, I also had to ask several times when paying and the wallet on the table didn't help either. Apparently only a certain gentleman is allowed to collect. I completely understand that when it's full, mistakes happen or it takes longer, but I really didn't feel comfortable or welcome there that evening. I can easily imagine having lunch there, even vegetarian, but not going out for a romantic meal or simply having a nice evening.

Actually a really good restaurant. I had reserved a table and had been sitting for a long time. All I got was a menu. After that I was no longer served. All guests after me were able to order except me. After another 20 minutes it became too stupid for me and I left the store in the morning.

My family and I have been here countless times, sushi is always delicious, prices are quite reasonable, staff are quick and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great! This is one of our favorite places in Düsseldorf for sushi! Sometimes it can be crowded on weekends but you can make reservations in advance on their website which is very helpful. I think the only negative is that they only take cash, but that is typical for many other places in Düsseldorf as well.

Very tasty sushi and courteous, nice service. However, I don't understand the "hype" surrounding this store. You can't pay by card, which is rather unfortunate these days.

Had dinner on a Friday evening and it was already very full! Luckily you were able to sit outside because the seating inside is very tight and you can hardly have a conversation. It's best to reserve in advance and you can only pay in cash! There are poor parking options on site! As usual, the food tastes very delicious. I can recommend the fried sushi.

Price-performance ratio is simply great! If you go to Immermannstr you will definitely pay 15 euros more for the same quality! Super fresh, nice service, smooth recommendation!

I can't agree with the comments about the food. Below average...

Eat good. Unfortunately we were only able to try the fried sushi. The regular sushi are probably even better. Service - very good, very friendly, fast and attentive. Ambiance - we could only get a seat outside. But OK.

Sushi was very tasty and okay in terms of price/performance. We came in, said we had made a reservation and were told we had to wait at the door for a moment because guests would be paying soon. Then the table became free but instead of us other people were let in who didn't even have a reservation and came in after us and simply stood a little in front of us. Then the waitress asked us again if we had made a reservation - so she had simply forgotten about us in the 5 minutes of waiting. Then had to wait another 10 minutes. Overall, the service was unfortunately very disorganized: we were asked to order late, then asked directly by two other colleagues whether we had already ordered, it was cleared away even though we weren't quite finished yet, so I had to say that we were still eating and even though As we sat there longer we weren't asked again if we wanted anything. Unfortunately, only cash payments are possible. And the tables are lined up very close together, which means it's very loud overall. There is no card payment 🙈only cash

I really liked the food, we ordered a menu for two people, absolutely everything was very tasty. It's atmospheric inside too. The only thing that was missing was the sincere cordiality of the waiters; I don’t understand why they look as if visitors are a burden to them.

Atmosphere inside is pretty nice, but that’s about it. Unfortunately the sushi didn’t taste all that fresh so I can’t really recommend this place. The presentation was nice, so I give them that as well! The service was just ok.

Insanely good sushi worth a visit

Food was a bit bland, teriyaki sauce was just a thin soy sauce, same with the starter: Yakitori tastes different. The sauce was a heavily diluted peanut sauce. Overall, rather mediocre. Loading very crowded and noisy.

Very well attended, not because it's my birthday, but also Whit Monday. The staff was a bit overwhelmed with so many people. Food was fresh and very tasty. It is not often that only cash payment is accepted. Cards are not accepted. Good for the euro.

I ate here twice and both were delicious, my GO to restaurant for sushi in Düsseldorf, near Shadowstrasse. Everything I've tried here is superb. I recommend this restaurant.

Although there were hardly any guests on site, things were quite hectic. A change to my wife's order after about 3 minutes. was rejected (sushi was already finished and had to be thrown away...). The food was solid. Chinese staff in a sushi restaurant is a matter of taste.

We were looking for good and traditional sushi, due to the trip advisor reviews and Instagram reels we've chosen this one. In the end nothing special, mojito had a weird mint syrup taste (why would add that?) and we've found a bone in the white sashimi. Instagram hype...

We were there for dinner yesterday with 7 people. First of all, the positive things: beautiful decoration, the sushi platters are nicely arranged and, thanks to the fresh ingredients, also quite tasty. Not to be equated with original Japanese sushi but OK for the price. What is a little irritating: there is a lot of skimping on wasabi/ginger and several sushi menus are randomly combined on the same plate without being pointed out. The service didn't seem very attentive and at times quite overwhelmed when the store was full. Card payments should be standard everywhere today, but they are generally not accepted here. What was absolutely not possible: when we wanted to order matcha ice cream for dessert, the waitress explained that it was sold out and recommended fresh mochi (rice dumplings) with sweet potato filling and coconut milk instead. What was brought to us seemed anything but fresh. The rice flour dough was rock hard, indicating that it had spent at least one night in the refrigerator and then been reheated in the microwave. The soup in which the motchis were swimming tasted sour and fermented. The whole dish was simply inedible, which we told the waitress. We were still charged €7.90 for the three portions - a disgrace! Maybe the health department should visit the kitchen more often. In any case, I won't be coming here a second time.

4 stars because the sushi is really tasty. Unfortunately service is not good. The staff is unfriendly and drinks come after the meal. We had reserved and still had to stand around in the entrance for 10 minutes because the table was still occupied. Overall, we're left with a mediocre experience.

Main course was very tasty. As a group, we ordered a drink, a starter and a main course right at the start. Drinks only came after everyone was halfway through the main course. Overall it didn't seem optimally structured. Cutlery was simply placed on the bare table. Doesn't correspond to my feeling of a good hygiene concept.

We had dinner in the restaurant for dinner. You have to leave half a kidney for the little bit of sushi you eat there, even if the little bit of sushi was delicious and you sit so close together in the restaurant that you can hear what is being said at two tables, you should adjust the prices a little. I think this store is only so busy because of the hype on social media, nothing else. However, it was also our last visit.

I recently visited the restaurant and was disappointed with the quality of the dishes and service. The Pho soup in particular didn't live up to my expectations; It tasted mainly of oil, water and herbs and had nothing of a traditional pho soup. The chicken in the soup was also disappointing and was more reminiscent of a simple sausage and egg, which was unappealing. However, the sushi with chicken should be highlighted positively, as it tasted convincing. The ambience in the restaurant was okay, and the service was relatively good until payment. However, the gentleman in charge left an unpleasant impression when paying. Overall, my visit to Baba Sushi was unfortunately rather disappointing.

Sushi was delicious, unfortunately the pho was only made of water and a lot of oil. Unfortunately it wasn't authentic. The meat had an unpleasant smell and the chicken meat, which was supposed to be chicken strips, was somehow made of eggs and a piece of chicken. In the end the cashier was very slow with the money and hesitated for a long time. When he didn't get a tip he was in a very strange mood. And they charge an extra €1 each for sauces. Which actually belongs to the pho soups.

We were there spontaneously on a Sunday, but we still called ahead and made a reservation. We were informed on the phone that only cash payment was possible. When we arrived at Baba Sushi, we were again informed at reception that only cash payment was possible. It's a shame that the method of payment is much more important than customer satisfaction when it comes to the food. We were very disappointed, since it was always so hyped, we had expectations that couldn't be exceeded. We won't have a second time.

Me and my girlfriend love going to Baba Sushi. if you like crispy fried sushi in Düsseldorf, this is the place to go!

The food is super tasty, there's nothing to complain about. Unfortunately I find the shop too full of tables and therefore everything seems much too crowded; that damages the ambience. Of course, this means that the service has a lot to do all the time and I don't think they can pay enough attention to the individual tables; it always has to be quick.

I have no idea how this restaurant got such a good rating. I have reserved a table for 8 p.m. for 2 people on Easter Monday, April 1st, 2024. When we arrived about 10 minutes earlier, there were almost 8 people standing in front of the restaurant and 4 inside, completely booked. Everyone had reservations! It looks like the operators don't have any organization and they simply don't care. We then waited the promised 10 minutes - in the end 50 minutes! During that time a lot of angry waiting guests left - otherwise it would have taken even longer. So service rating for the reception is zero stars. Once at the table, the food came quite quickly - the "Fiends Sushi" was selected from the somewhat grubby menu cards (photo can be submitted later) and 2 cocktails. The food came quickly despite the restaurant being fully booked (the only star that could be awarded). The cocktails are cheap not only in price - also in taste and ingredients. The food (sushi) was average for a non-Japanese and in my opinion too expensive for the quality. The atmosphere - station hall, if you like it. Finale - cashier - CASH ONLY - we have arrived in the 20th century and for dishes that cost 30 to 50 euros I expect digital payment. Luckily I had just enough Barged in my pocket - and an invoice is only given upon request - which makes you wonder why... Overall rating food OK, but generally not recommended.

Mega great sushi restaurant, 🍣 in the middle of downtown Düsseldorf. If you want to get a seat here you have to wait a little, but the friendly service makes up for it. Delicious appetizers and soups, sushi of all kinds... wine and cocktails await you... and all at a fair price.

We had high expectations because my sister raved so much about the restaurant and spontaneously invited us there on Easter Sunday. We had a total of seven dishes from classic edamame to sushi, gyoza and also two rolls. The food is okay, but not nearly as exceptional as it is written in the review. We also love Sumi in Pempelfort and this is way better. The atmosphere is also a bit crowded for young people... service is ultra fast and nice. What finished us off. In the evaluation, the fact was that you received a small, oblong piece of paper with the IBAN written on it, so that you could then receive a real-time transfer back. There is no card payment in the restaurant. Even Paypal would not be offered. and last but not least, so that the owner can check whether you have actually paid, you have to write down all your data on another small beer mat. #fail #gehtinssumi

We had an appointment at 7:30 p.m. and there were 3 other couples next to us who had reservations at that time. Some of the people were already in the store and didn't have a seat, you can't book so many reservations at one time! Instead, we called the sushi restaurant next door and immediately got a seat reserved where the atmosphere wasn't so stressful. I'll never go to Baba Sushi again.

A reservation was made, but there was no room for us. We were seated at a very small table right next to the toilet. At the entrance there was an unfriendly waitress who immediately said “Cash only here”! One or two authorities in Düsseldorf should take note of that Let's take a look. I wasn't served at first, I wasn't given anything to drink. When my girlfriend came, we immediately went out and drove to DEN. The difference was like day and night. High quality, top service and delicious sushi, always happy again. But BaBa is not closed recommend.

We were here spontaneously on a Saturday lunchtime. There were plenty of free seats and we were able to choose a table without making a reservation. Right at the beginning we were informed that only cash payment was possible. The service was very friendly and the food came quickly. The edamame and gyoza starters were delicious. Afterwards we had the sumo plate, which was really big. It was really fresh and delicious. We also had a baked duck, which only arrived lukewarm. After consulting with service, we received a new duck, which this time was warm. We liked it here, but we weren't blown away by it.

We made reservations for 4 people at 8:30 p.m. As soon as we arrived there was a huge queue in front of the door. The waitress said "everyone with a reservation has to wait outside". I would like to add that it was below 9 degrees and very windy. Every time we asked again she said “right away”. Is it so hard to be honest and admit a mistake? The only reason the star is deducted is that it is very loud when the shop is busy and you don't sit very comfortably at the two tables. Otherwise, I had the peanut curry with chicken and was more than impressed. In terms of price it wasn't overpriced and the portion was more than large and really tasty. On Saturday we were in Düsseldorf to visit Babasushi because the shop is very hyped. Sushi was really delicious, but the shop is extremely small. I would like to see the shop expand or a second location open. Next time we'd rather come during the week.

Really good sushi. Very attentive staff. Very crowded despite Monday evening. Nothing works here without a reservation. Unfortunately, every centimeter is used; the tables are extremely narrow. But the food and service make up for it. Price wise completely okay. We would be happy to come back or use the pick-up service.
