SCAM. Waiter brings water despite explicit instructions – and then bills you later: €3 for 200ml of table water. Outrageous. Actually, there wasn't even a claim for payment under Section 241a of the German Civil Code. Food – tasted OK at best. The €8 (!!) tabbouleh had five lemon pips in it. Awkward restaurant – AVOID AT ALL CASE!

Tabbouleh is served with lemon seeds. A disgrace. Hygiene is abysmally poor. Avoid this restaurant.

Very disappointing. We had to wait over an hour for our food. Then the waiter came and told us that the person who made the bread was sick – honestly, I was just as confused as you probably are reading this. After all that waiting, the food finally arrived, but the entire experience left a very poor impression. Definitely not what you'd expect from a restaurant visit.

Hello everyone, The restaurant serves excellent and authentic Yemeni food, and we truly appreciate that. However, our experience was disappointing due to a serious lack of respect. One of the waiters treated us in a rude and discriminatory way — both in his tone and attitude while serving, as if we were not worthy of basic courtesy. We ordered our lunch and paid €148, but were still treated with disrespect. Even the cashier did not show proper manners. We have always recommended this restaurant to people from different nationalities — at work and beyond — to introduce them to our culture and Yemeni cuisine, something we are very proud of. Sadly, after this unpleasant experience, which I would not wish for anyone, we have decided to look for other places. I sincerely hope the management improves the behavior of their staff, because respect is a treasure — once it’s lost, everything else loses its value.

The restrooms are a disgrace.

Rude staff who keep on staring inappropriately on both young women and us (same sex couple) and we tried to speak in German and English and we were laughed at. While waiting, you can see what’s going on in the kitchen and it was very unhygienic and unclean (sneezing and touching the food without washing). Someone should call and inform the Ordungsamt about this place. We left after 10 minutes of being ignored and pushed around.

Although it was my first experience with Yemeni cuisine, the warmth and quality of the food made me feel immediately welcome. A constant right near the Munich central station. Bab Al Yemen delivers an outstanding culinary experience. The star of the show is undoubtedly the chicken madfoun; my absolute favourite. A very close second is the chicken mandi; the chicken is incredibly soft, falling right off the bone with minimal effort. The tomato chutney served alongside is the perfect tangy complement, truly the cherry on top. It gets very crowded during peak hours, making it occasionally difficult to get a waiter's attention.

Anyone who has already traveled to Arab countries will immediately feel at home there! From the decor to the ambiance, the music, the aromas, and the chatter – everything is 100% authentic! The food is exquisite and also a visual highlight! Served piping hot and steaming fresh from the oven in a stone pot. The bread will make your mouth water – the flatbread alone is reason enough to visit! You can also sit outside, comfortably and sheltered, by the street. Behind the restroom is a prayer room worth seeing. Afterwards, for the full Arabian flair, we treated ourselves to kunafa at the sweet shop one street away! The service was incredibly friendly and, due to a misunderstanding, they immediately brought us a new dish! Bab Al Yemen fully deserves 5 stars for service, flair, and culinary delight!

At first, we had to wait a bit for the waiter, but he quickly made up for it with his friendly service. Our food was very good, and the staff was very child-friendly. We did have to wait a bit for our drinks, but the wait was worth it. The lemon and mint shake was amazing. It was really good in the summer, and the spicy depth of the food added to the flavor. We paid 86 for the main course and starter, plus drinks for three adults and one child, which was totally fair. There's probably a mosque in the back room.

We don't know what the food tastes like, but we smelled it.

I ordered a quarter of a mandi lamb. Honestly, the meat was fresh, but it didn't live up to the mandi standard. The rice was cold and tasted like regular rice, not mandi. The price for a quarter was 182 euros!!! Prices are high and everything is overpriced. I asked the waiter for onions and lemon, and it turned out they were added to the bill!! The bill for three people, including a drink, was 204 euros!!!! I agree that prices in Europe are generally high, but not to this extent. Anyway, this is a personal experience and will not be repeated, especially after the cashier's treatment of me and his unprofessional manner with a customer who has the right to ask about the amount and the quantity of meat in the quarter of the lamb that I ordered.

The lamb is incredibly tender, and you can tell that a lot of time and love goes into its preparation. For me, it's worth every cent. Whenever I'm in Munich, a visit here is a must. I love how you're immersed in a different culture with every bite. The atmosphere is lively and authentic—not elegant, but that's precisely what makes it so charming for me. We ordered Fahisa and Chicken Mandi. The Fahisa was delicious, but the Mandi arrived cold. We asked the waiter to heat it up, and as if he didn't like it, he took the plate and sent it back even colder!

No. 27 is a bit dry if you don't like/can't handle a sauce with freshly diced tomatoes and herbs. No. 47 is super hot and delicious. Definitely try Yemeni tea!

The food was cold when it arrived and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The service also left a lot to be desired this time: inattentive and showing little effort to serve the guests. We tried most of the main dishes and the food was more than wonderful and the quantity was abundant compared to other restaurants. The young men were very respectful. There is a small mosque inside the shop and even the Yemeni sweets are very delicious and the Adeni tea. As for the prices, they are cheap compared to the quality of the food and the quantity. Note that there is a parking place directly next to the restaurant at a cost of 10 euros for two hours. I highly recommend it.
