Ayutthaya Thai Imbiss in Düsseldorf hat mich wirklich positiv überrascht und zwar nicht, weil es besonders groß oder aufwendig inszeniert wäre, sondern weil hier genau das stimmt, worauf es bei gutem Thai-Essen ankommt: Geschmack, Frische, Tempo und Herzlichkeit. Schon die Atmosphäre war angenehm. Das Inhaber-Paar ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und sympathisch, nicht aufgesetzt, sondern ehrlich herzlich. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen, als würde man nicht einfach nur schnell etwas bestellen, sondern kurz in einer kleinen thailändischen Küche ankommen. Das Essen wurde super schnell serviert, was gerade bei einem Imbiss natürlich angenehm ist. Noch wichtiger: Es wirkte trotzdem frisch gekocht und nicht wie lieblos vorbereitet. Ich hatte Som Tam sehr scharf und Pad Kiew Wan Nuea Ruam Mit ebenfalls sehr scharf und genau das war für mich der entscheidende Punkt: Die Schärfe war nicht einfach nur brutal, sondern hatte Geschmack. So, wie man es aus Thailand kennt: intensiv, frisch, direkt, aber nicht flach. Besonders das Som Tam war für mich ein Highlight. Knackig, frisch, sauer-scharf, mit dieser typischen Balance, die man in Deutschland leider nicht oft bekommt. Das grüne Curry mit Rind und gemischten Zutaten war ebenfalls richtig stark: aromatisch, kräftig, schön cremig und mit dieser Tiefe, die nicht künstlich wirkt. Was ich sehr schätze: Es wird ohne Glutamat gekocht und trotzdem fehlt geschmacklich absolut nichts. Im Gegenteil: Gerade dadurch schmeckt es ehrlicher und näher an dem, was man in Thailand bekommt. Kein überwürzter Standardgeschmack, sondern klare Aromen, gute Schärfe und echtes Thai-Gefühl. Für mich ein absolut empfehlenswerter Thai-Imbiss in Düsseldorf. Schnell, herzlich, authentisch und geschmacklich deutlich über dem Durchschnitt. Klare 5 Sterne, ich komme sehr gerne wieder.

Wir kommen von Ratingen, füttern mit mehreren Euros die Parkuhr und werden dann wegen unseres Sohnes abgewiesen. Das ist kein Thai Style. Juni 2026 Am besten das Lokal meiden!!

Geschmacksexplosion. Vielleicht waren die anderen Thai-Restaurants, die ich besucht habe, nur für den deutschen Gaumen gemacht: Etwas Curry, Thai-Basilikum und Kokosmilch und der Laden läuft. Hier sind aber nicht nur drei, vier Aromen kombiniert, sondern eine schiere Vielfalt, die wie eine Geschichte ineinander greifen und stimmig sind. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut, da die Qualität sehr gut ist, die Preise von im Schnitt 15 € bei den Portionsgrößen aber etwas überhöht sind. In einem Garnelengericht (Nr. 53) waren drei Garnelen. Hier zahle ich aber gerne den Aufpreis (nur Bar-Zahlung) und unterstütze auch das Hausverbot für (plärrende) Kinder. Parken kann man dreist und kostenlos auch beim schräg gegenüber liegenden Bauhaus. Gerne wieder.

Sehr leckeres, authentisches Essen, frisch zubereitet vom überaus freundlichen Team. Schärfe wird nach Wunsch angepasst. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Meine Freundin und ich sind Stammgäste im Ayutthaya und haben uns bereits einmal quer durch die ganze Karte probiert. Man merkt einfach, dass die Inhaberin mit unglaublich viel Leidenschaft kocht und das mit den stets frischesten Zutaten. Selbst in Thailand haben wir nicht besser gegessen als hier, maximal genauso gut. Ihr Mann kennt uns inzwischen und begegnet uns stets mit einer guten Prise Humor und ehrlicher Freundlichkeit. Ob Pad Thai, Tom Kha Gai, Panang oder Massaman Curry, Som Tam oder Sate Gai Spieße - alles schmeckt nach unglaublichen Aromen und wahnsinnig lecker. Saucen zum Dippen werden selbst hergestellt und kommen nicht aus der Flasche. Die Portionen sind sehr großzügig und die Preise mehr als fair. Wir lieben das Ayutthaya und können jedem Thai Fan dieses Lokal nur wärmstens ans Herz legen. Das Ayutthaya kocht das Sila Thai in Düsseldorf unter den Tisch!

Ausgezeichnetes Essen. - So, wie man es haben möchte und in dieser Qualität zum Teil nicht mal in Thailand bekommt. Schön auch, dass Wünsche befolgt werden. So haben wir gebeten, den Som Tom "Thai scharf" zuzubereiten, was prompt und zur Freude aller befolgt wurde. Pad Thai und Tom-Yum-Suppe waren auch sehr gut. Da muss man es fast schade finden, dass das Sitzplatzangebot sehr begrenzt ist. Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder

Hervorragender Geschmack, sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Mir wurde vorab eine Wartezeit von ~40 min angesagt (an einem Samstag Abend). Ich komme gerne wieder.

Wow! Der absolute Knaller. Garnelen in Pad Med Mamuang Nam Prik Pao - Nr. 49 der Karte. Alle Zutaten frisch, kackig und von höchster Qualität. Dazu eine (selbstgemachte!) saugute Erdnusssosse. Das Essen ist vom anderen (Thai)- Stern. Ich bin zufällig dort gelandet und habe zum Mitnehmen bestellt, zumal die Sitzgelegenheiten "knapp" sind. Aber das was man dort bekommt, ist eine einmalige Qualität mit daraus resultierenden Geschmacksexplosionen. Absolute Empfehlung !!! und ich habe schon oft gut thailändisch gegessen. Dazu eine klinisch saubere (offene) Küche. Hier sieht man was man bekommt und es ist unglaublich sauber und hygienisch. Man mag sagen, das "isst man nicht mit", aber doch: diese Sauberkeit erlaubt eine Gaumenfreude der besonderen Art. Leute, geht da hin, alles ein wenig speziell aber einzigartig

Ich war zwar noch nicht in diesem Imbiss zum Essen, aber ich befürworte ausdrücklich das "Hausverbot" für Kinder. Ich als Lehrer und Erzieher bestätige gern, dass sich besonders junge Eltern leider manchmal mehr mit dem Handy beschäftigen als mit der Erziehung. Diese Maßnahme hat nichts mit Diskriminierung zu tun sondern mit Sicherheit, Umgang und Disziplin.

The food is a true explosion of flavors. Absolutely delicious. The couple who run it are very friendly and accommodating. They maintain absolute cleanliness and hygiene. I've been there several times now and I'm always impressed. The selection on the menu leaves nothing to be desired.

It was my first time dining here. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and it certainly won't be my last. There are three tables, each seating up to four people. After 7 p.m., they only serve takeaway food.

We went there because of the good reviews. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. The food was really not good. The Tomka Ghai soup was completely over-seasoned and completely unloved. Our two main courses weren't particularly good either. Unfortunately, the poor quality of the food was immediately noticeable. The mushrooms in the soup were significantly overcooked. We also got diarrhea for free on top of that :/ Absolutely not a recommendation!

Very good, authentic Thai food. Always freshly prepared. Not exactly cheap for a snack bar, but the quality justifies the price.

The shop is pleasantly simple and not at all hip. Instead, it impresses with absolutely insanely good food. Honestly, I haven't had such delicious food in a long time. The prices are reasonable, and the two who run the place are exemplary in terms of friendliness and communication. I'm simply thrilled and sad that the shop isn't in Hamburg.

Update 2025: I was back after a few years. Not much has changed, except that there's now another employee (a German man) behind the cash register. He seems a bit strict/serious, but he's actually quite nice. The red Thai curry was very good in terms of the sauce, but tasted different than in most Thai restaurants. What bothered me, however, was that there was no small pot of fish oil (Prik Nam Pla) or sambal oelek, which is standard in almost all Thai takeaways. The man said, "Everything tastes so good here, you don't need it here," but as a guest, I would like to decide for myself whether or not I want some chili pasta on my rice. Another negative point: You're not allowed to eat in after 7:00 PM. The man said, "As an exception, you're still allowed to, since it's only 6:55 PM." Original post: It was extremely hyped when it opened. To me, it's a completely normal Thai takeaway, like the ones you find very often. The service and cook were very friendly. The menu was relatively varied, but typical Thai dishes like Laab Ped (duck salad) were not available.

My partner and I went yesterday. It was a safe (child-free) and calm place to eat. We enjoyed our dinner with delicious and authentic flavors. There are many options, from side dishes to meats, and the prices are reasonable. Payment is cash only, which is fine. I also found the interaction between the owners very endearing. The combination of food, experience, and quality left me with a very good impression. I highly recommend it.

Ayutthaya offers an outstanding culinary experience. I had No. 83, duck with red curry and coconut milk. The sauce was slightly creamy and the spiciness was perfectly balanced. You can enjoy a truly delicious meal here in peace and quiet, with very few seats. I would be happy to return.

There’s something deeply satisfying about finding a place that doesn’t try too hard: no gimmicks, no theatrics, just good food that stays with you. This spot is exactly that kind of eatery. Unpretentious to the core, it’s the sort of place you might walk past if you didn’t know better, but once you’ve eaten here, it becomes a favorite.

I lived in Berlin for ten years – certainly a mecca for Vietnamese cuisine. By comparison, Ayunthaya is certainly up there with the best. The culinary skills of the couple who run it – others have yet to hold a candle to them. Pad Thai is unrivaled. In my opinion, the best in the city. I've eaten many other small and large dishes (peanut skewers, spring rolls) there, and I found that the high standards have been maintained throughout. No one who loves Thai cuisine should be impressed by the admittedly sober ambiance. Motto: the best food isn't found where the neat tablecloths beckon, but where a genuine atmosphere prevails. A word about children being kept outside. I know from my own experience how nerves little ones can get when the food has to be perfect. Therefore, the affected people have only themselves to blame if they're asked to leave because they can't keep their children under control. The owners reacted very moderately.

Absolutely delicious and fresh, no canned fruit or anything like that. Homemade sauces. A few tables, dine-in with service until 7:00 PM (no reservation required) and takeout until 8:00 PM. There are varying degrees of spiciness. Reasonable value for money. The "snack bar" is very clean. POSTSCRIPT: We were there firsthand when small children with dirty shoes stood on the chairs and screamed. The parents apparently thought it was normal. We expressly welcome the ban on children!

Those who are ventilating aggressively unobjective reviews here are precisely the parents for whom raising children is a foreign concept. Unfortunately the majority. It's not difficult to encourage children to be considerate, I say as a mother. Now the more polite minority has to suffer. But at least you can eat very well and undisturbed here again.

Although I have never eaten here, I would like to praise the decision "Without Kimder". I have two children of my own and enjoy going to restaurants with them, but from an early age they were taught how to behave in restaurants. Other guests also have the right to eat in peace and not to hear shouting and to have strange children around their feet and under the table, and then have to hear from their parents: "It's just children who don't understand!" If children don't understand and are still so small that they don't understand what you have to/should do where - then you have to go to the playground and let off steam there because that is the perfect place for the children's good development.

The food is very good. It tastes original, just like in the markets in Thailand. Negative comments here are obviously mainly from parents who wanted to eat here with their children. But it's also understandable that instead of assuming something, people are known to prefer to express their frustration in the form of a bad review.

The food is absolutely not up to the usual standard and is highly recommended. The very friendly service is also worth mentioning. When I'm in Düsseldorf, I almost always eat at the Ayutthaya Thai snack bar. Here the food is cooked really fresh and only after ordering; you feel a little bit like you're on holiday in Thailand. Fortunately, you can now have peace and quiet while eating, as small children are no longer allowed to eat directly in the restaurant. Thanks!

As the father of a little boy who I love more than anything, all I can say is that the decision not to allow small children is completely fine and their sole concern. The hate here online comes again from helicopter parents who want to force their opinions on others. Here is a 5 star rating to compensate for some hate ratings.

The problem is not the children, but the parents, whose incompetence cannot be surpassed. The children can't help it because they aren't/weren't raised properly and they annoy all the uninvolved guests. They still think it's ok and don't do anything. Finally someone to put an end to parents!

Very good food and despite it being absolutely full, it was very relaxed and quiet. This is due to the ban on children in the snack bar, which I think is a good thing, even though I have 2 kids myself.

Everything is always excellent! Anyone who complains because children are no longer wanted: The snack bar will have had a hard time with this decision and will certainly not have chosen such a step for no reason! These days it often feels like kids can do whatever they want in restaurants. Many parents simply don't care. I'm glad that I can now always dine here in peace and quiet! :-)

We had a very tasty meal there. Incidentally, there are plenty of shops where the kids can and are allowed to play/eat while running and screaming, even in their socks. The lack of education, often presented as super tolerant and hip, means that there are more and more restaurants and hotels that simply don't have the nerve anymore.

I think the “child ban” is great! Finally eat in peace without the constant noise. But the problem is not the children, but the parents with their oh-so-loose upbringing, which is no upbringing at all. Keep it up, we'll come back more often now!

Just 5 stars for someone daring to do that in this day and age. In a way, I really understand that. It's not the children who are the problem, it's simply the parents. Raising children is part of having children. No kindergarten or school is responsible for this, only the parents. So take responsibility for your children and take care of them, then no one has anything against children in a restaurant.

If restless children who don't stay seated have caused unpleasant situations, the operators have the right to say that their snack bar will no longer serve that kind of thing in the future. Nobody gets upset about Berghain or posh restaurants on Sylt, and they don't let everyone in either. So relax people :)

Dear parents, all of you who are upset about the fact that a "ban on staying with children" has now been announced: You alone are responsible for ensuring that the owners no longer put up with this anti-authoritarian and disinterested self-image of an egomaniacal "Me First Generation". Finally start actively looking after your children again and keeping them busy. Put your smartphones away and take an interest in the little people you obviously fathered, instead of vehemently enforcing your me-time at the expense of everyone else. Stop giving restaurateurs bad reviews just because they enforce the peace and quiet that you actually want. And by the way: The owners/tenants have the right to the property and can decide entirely who they want to serve - and who is better at driving the wheeled carriage to the nearest oat milk gas station.

My wife and I always enjoy coming here and, in addition to the very good food, we also enjoy the very good service and the peace and quiet. We are not against children, but their upbringing very often leaves a lot to be desired. There are now a lot of companies where children are not welcome. This is also the case in the thermal baths in Burg Spreewald. Here, too, there were more and more problems with the “kids”. For families with children who give their offspring a “free” upbringing, there are also opportunities to entertain themselves. There certainly won't be any problems there!! Our favorite Thai snack bar by far for several years now. The chef and her husband manage to bring real Thai cuisine to Düsseldorf. It tastes like Thailand, which is probably because the owner grinds and mixes the spices herself. There is no canned fruit in the food here, but fresh fruit, such as in my favorite dish (29): pineapple, lychees, grapes, etc. I can only say high praise to the cook. For a few months now, families with children have only been able to order takeaway. The owners are child-friendly and have children themselves. Unfortunately, in recent years I too have felt that parents don't show their children enough boundaries. Especially in Germany. I don't notice this abroad. My parents were also self-employed and some of them had problems with parents who didn't provide any control. I can therefore understand the decision well.

Best Thai snack in Düsseldorf. Chef with a rough exterior, but very good food. Whatever we think is good, we finally eat in peace. Without parents what their children cannot raise. Of course not everyone is like that, but no dogs in the restaurant is the same. Some are well behaved, some are miserable. So as a boss, I don't see how the child/dog is raised. Then a ban is written at the entrance. YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO IN.

Deserved 5 stars. It tastes good, the service was incredibly nice and, to be honest, I find the innovation that you can eat in peace without children very pleasant. There are also hotels that are only for adults for precisely this reason. Nobody escalates with bad reviews and outrage. When I was young I had to behave or there would be trouble. Today parents think that they have to be the children's best friend and be "cool" (of course this doesn't apply to everyone, but in my opinion it applies to the majority). Families cannot expect limitless tolerance everywhere. I really like being in this restaurant and enjoying the peace and quiet.

There are numerous reviews here from people who have never been here and who want to destroy the existence of the operators through reviews due to tendentious reporting by inflammatory journalists. Everything is good here. Terrible what has become of humanity and digitally participate in this mob! People have no conscience and act like they are the good guys. These “imbeciles” should all be sued for defamation!
