Ate very tasty. You have to be a little careful with the spiciness (medium hot can be very hot) it's just a matter of taste. Very courteous employees. I can highly recommend it.

So I'm impressed! However, right at the beginning I have to say that the parking situation is difficult and you have to plan a time buffer for it. I should also add that you should definitely make a reservation because when I was there all the tables were reserved and without a reservation you wouldn't have had a chance. However, the reservation is worth it at any price. When you arrived at the restaurant you were greeted warmly and shown to the table. Afterwards you had enough time to read the menu and in between the drinks were ordered. I had ordered the spring rolls as a starter and for my main course (sweet and sour chicken with rice) I wanted the chicken to be fried, which was no problem at all. However, it came with an additional charge, which I personally don't find dramatic. The food was brought out one by one, starters of course before starting. The food was very hot and tasted incredibly delicious! When the main course is served, a portion of rice is placed directly on your plate. The staff was consistently friendly and attentive throughout our stay. I'm really excited because the food was delicious and the staff made it possible to have a great time. It's definitely not the last time I've eaten here and I can only recommend the restaurant!

Very good restaurant!! FOOD very tasty! ABEEEEERRR! Paid an extra €5 for a portion of rice! For the small extra portion of crusty chicken (two small fillets! Really very thin and small!) Paid €12.90!!!! Too EXPENSIVE! Outrageous prices for side dishes, as unfortunately the main courses are served small, so you are forced to ORDER EXTRA SIDE DISHES! It's a shame it was still incredibly tasty but the portions/prices were outrageous.

I had high expectations based on the good reviews, but unfortunately they were not met at all. The dishes are by no means bad, just very boring and run of the mill. In terms of feeling, a cheap Asian snack bar doesn't make a worse curry. Service was very friendly and quick. (visited mid-09/2024)

Beautiful ambience, courteous and friendly service, dishes taste very good, but there is no price-performance ratio. I chose a glass noodle salad as my main course, but it corresponded to the portion of a starter. Since this couldn't satisfy my relatively small appetite, I had to order more, which made the visit disproportionately expensive for two people.

Apart from the fact that there were difficulties in communicating when making the reservation (we were blocked for 4 instead of 14), we were helped immediately. We got a table and had a nice evening with really tasty food and nice service. Clear recommendation

The service is always attentive and friendly. Good price/performance ratio. Absolute recommendation! Attention: always busy, so reserve in advance.

I spontaneously tried to reserve a table for the same day. According to online booking only possible very late. Called and was put off but I should try again. I was called and told that I was lucky and could come at the time I wanted Restaurant very appropriately decorated The waiters were really great. Whenever you needed something they were there and very accommodating, not intrusive. The meals were very good. Although the soups or my curry (had two different curries) I expected more in terms of taste, but that's complaining on a high level. Everything was very good. I would love to come back because everything was very good all around.

Wir haben unsere Freunde zu ihrem ersten Thai-Essen mitgenommen, weil uns das Restaurant im August so gut gefallen hat und sie es einfach ausprobieren sollten. Sie waren, wie wir auch wieder, absolut begeistert: vom super-freundichen Service, von dem wunderschönen Ambiente, von den Geschmacksexplosionen der äußerst leckeren und frischen Gerichte und den Getränken. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

The restaurant is thoroughly recommended. The service is attentive, competent and keeps an overview even when it is full. The food is of very good quality and tastes excellent. The sharpness can be adjusted upon request. We will definitely go there again when we are in Düsseldorf again.

C’est le seul restaurant que nous faisons quand nous venons pour des thermes à Düsseldorf.. Troisième visite et nous aimons toujours autant…tout est parfait…l’accueil, les saveurs dans les plats, l’endroit chaleureux, …on se croirait en Thaïlande quand les plats arrivent. On a envie de tout goûter…

We had a lovely dinner here. Full points for the ambience and service. The food was good but packed the punch, vibrance and spice of Thai cuisine. They seemed to have dialed it down to match the local palette, which is a pity. Especially the curries and soups. Very good Phad Thai.

My wife and I visited the restaurant for the first time late one afternoon. The reception at the entrance was very friendly. Since we had reserved, we got a table for 2 people by the window. The starter for two and the two main courses chosen were very tasty. The service in between and when paying was very courteous. We'd love to come back.

Great dining locations in Dusseldorf! Relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, caring staff, delicious food. Usually I order a red curry with crispy duck, it is served with a cute bowl of rice. The portions of main dishes are quite big, it makes sense also considering sharing. This time we tried also two appetisers: a soup and a chicken satay. Unfortunately, there was no space left to try a coconut rice with mango, but next I am excited to try. Booking of the table in advance is recommended.

I was there on Saturday evening with my wife and we had a wonderful meal. We chose the chicken and duck, and both were extremely tasty. What was particularly positive was that our request for mild spice was implemented perfectly. The service was not only friendly but also very professional. The price-performance ratio was also right - we were completely satisfied!

By far the best Thai food in Düsseldorf, at absolutely fair prices.

Upscale ambience, great service, slightly smaller portions but the taste is exceptionally good. A little “house liqueur” at the end would have rounded the whole thing off even better.

The food and the ambience were good! The service was very friendly - too friendly for my taste! Personally, I find it annoying when someone asks every 5 minutes whether everything is still OK! After 2 hours (from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.) a gentleman (managing director?) came and kindly asked us to leave! Our table was still allocated, even though two long rows of tables in the background were unused!??I found that to be outrageous! We only received an interim invoice! Unusual! This experience makes me never want to go there again!

We really ate as great a meal here as we did in real Thailand. The food is incredibly tasty, the service is super friendly and the restaurant atmosphere is cozy and familiar. The coconut soup and Pad Thai were incredibly delicious! We'll definitely be back.

We had been looking forward to enjoy authentic Thai food for a while after booking a table at Lay Thai. The place was fairly busy already at 6:30pm. We chose a green papaya salad to share and two main courses. Grapao beef and Grapao squid. All three dishes were far from exciting. Green Papaya salad lacked chili, shrimp powder and so much taste. For the price the portion was tiny. The "crispy squid" was battered and stir fried, which was not described in the German part of the menu. Only in the English part which I didn't see. In the center of each squid there was batter which was not cooked. An unpleasant feeling. The beef Kra Pao was OK, but far from Thai spicy. The fried egg which I would expect to follow a dish like this was missing. 80€ for an experience like this is way overpriced. Service was very friendly and efficient. However I don't like to have rice put on my plate when I might start out with eating the salad. It's meant as a gesture of service and kindness, but it's just not necessary.

Everything was very tasty, fresh and the portion sizes were right. The service was super friendly, helpful and quick and so it definitely won't be the last time we eat here... we're already planning a visit with friends so that they too can enjoy this 'insider tip' in the north of Düsseldorf! Grade: 1+ As far as the price goes, we hit the jackpot...cocktails, drinks, appetizers, main course and desserts!!

Super friendly service, great ambience and delicious food. The homemade mango iced tea was very tasty. I can also highly recommend the pangasius. Be sure to make a reservation before your visit, as the restaurant is very busy.

Be careful if you want to eat there with your dog!!! We had reserved a table in the restaurant for a large group to celebrate a birthday. We also had a small, calm dog with us. It started with the drinks that I would have liked to drink a lychee spritzer, which wasn't possible because they only have lychee juice (I mixed my spritzer myself at the table, but I wasn't even offered a glass for it). For starters we ordered several starter platters. Things then became really outrageous when they suddenly said that the dog had to go out immediately and that they weren't allowed to allow dogs in the restaurant. Who says that?! I know other restaurants in Düsseldorf that are allowed to do that! The dog was sleeping under the table and didn't bother anyone. We were not informed of this when we made the reservation, when we went in or when we ordered. It was then suggested that I could go out alone with the dog. Great idea!! I then said that I would take the dog home. When I brought the dog home (it took about 15 minutes), they served the appetizer shortly after I left!!! Couldn't we have waited then?! I came back, the food was cold, there was no quick thank you for taking the dog away, nothing! Only cold leftover appetizers!!! Unfortunately, the main courses didn't arrive at the same time, even though the shop was almost empty. The food itself was okay, nothing special, the starter would certainly have tasted better warm, but the way the guests were treated there was appalling.

Nos encontramos con una joven muy amable que revisó nuestra reserva y nos mostró a nuestra mesa. Quedamos impresionados de lo ordenado y limpio que estaba este restaurante, y a pesar del tamaño restringido del mismo, todavía había suficiente espacio entre las mesas. La tarjeta de menú es bastante transparente, lo que nos facilita la elección. El cóctel Mai Tai era excelente y el vino de Grauburgunde estaba bien frío y cumplió con nuestras expectativas. Los entrantes mixtos Lay Thai para 2 estaban deliciosos. Nuestro curry verde pollo, así como el curry verde langostino sabía fuera de este mundo. El servicio fue un verdadero servicio de 5 estrellas, estábamos bastante mimados a pesar del hecho de que el restaurante estaba lleno y además de la jovencita alegre, había un joven que asistió al bar y ayudó en el piso. Conclusión: Servicio perfecto, personal amable, mantel y cubiertos limpios, baños muy limpios, deliciosa comida recién cocinada, gran vino y precios bastante razonables.

Wir haben spontan hier, hatten aber 45 Minuten vor reserviert. Das war auch gut, denn sonst hätten wir wahrscheinlich keinen Platz bekommen. Das Essen war frisch und geschmacklich sehr gut. Das Personal absolut freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch das Ambiente hat uns sehr gefallen. Asiatisch, modern und gemütlich. Kommen sehr gerne wieder!

We went to LAY THAI for the first time yesterday and were absolutely thrilled as soon as we entered the restaurant. A very nice lady accompanied us to the reserved table and a pleasant evening began... An extraordinary ambience with extremely nice, friendly and also funny and quick-witted staff (which impressed us very positively) completed the overall impression. The selection of food and drinks (including 4 types of homemade ice tea) is plentiful and the “European + Thai spiciness” is also pointed out before preparation, which is very helpful. There were 5 of us there, everyone ordered a different dish (from the soup, the starter plate for 2) and also vegan food. The waiting times are okay, what you get in return is worth seeing and very tasty. Since we are from outside, we had reserved in advance, which is definitely recommended, every table was occupied or reserved... The fact that some Thai guests came to eat in the restaurant and also outside on the small terrace means that the food is very tasty and authentic but also that the hosts did a first-class job due to their cooking skills, their great manner and their great demeanor make. Thank you for the successful evening, we will definitely be back!!!😉🥳

I think the fish dish is too small, I have to say it is too expensive and not worth the high price. The spring rolls are too small. As far as taste goes, I give it 5 stars. The atmosphere of the store is nice and the service is very nice.

The food was tasty but potion was very very small. The prices don't match the quality. The fish wasn't fresh and super ridiculously small. We ordered a soup for 29.9 euros, there were only 6 shrimps and rice had to be ordered separately for 3.9 euros… we reserved tables but because of children we arrived late, we were on the phone and the host was very mean: because you were late If you have come, you are only allowed to have the table in front of the door because others have reservations, but they were free all evening!!! We will never come back!

We have eaten at this restaurant 5 times in the last two weeks, elegant and comfortable surroundings, truly Thai food and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Düsseldorf. Thank you. ขอบคุณ

Lay Thai does everything right that a restaurant should do right. The ambience is nice, everything down to the toilets is clean and equipped with an eye for detail. Although the restaurant is not big, there are four waiters, so the service is very fast. All the employees are extremely friendly. The dishes are delicious and the portion sizes are more than adequate. The price-performance ratio is extremely good. We will be back definitely.
