Augustiner Erfurt in Erfurt

I ordered a Thüringer Rosbrätl, and it was swimming in oil. The salad was very limp and tasteless. Plus, I ordered a large beer, and they brought me a small one. The waitress wasn't very friendly or helpful. Shame about the place, but I wouldn't go back or recommend it.

Unfortunately, I encountered the wrong service staff. "They're not serving anymore!" Seems like a very easy excuse on a hot summer evening at 7 p.m. "I don't feel like serving you because you're sitting alone at the table" would have been more realistic. What a shame! Bad staff are easy to find and ruin online reviews.

The important thing here isn't the food. If you ask me, the cooking and serving here isn't done with love; I had a completely different experience in Thuringia. But the ambiance is unbeatable when the weather's nice. So, you should definitely go at least once.

A beautifully located restaurant with a large outdoor dining area, directly across from the Merchants' Bridge. The food (very reasonably priced, by the way) is hearty, regional and very visually appealing. Unfortunately, the Erfurt beer goulash didn't live up to our expectations; the meat was a bit dry, and there wasn't enough sauce for the really good dumplings. However, the beer was tasty, and the service was friendly and attentive.

The location is very nice, and my portion (Hax'n) was decent. The restaurant is very large and offers everything your heart desires. I was very satisfied. Groups should make reservations well in advance.

Quaint location, but we only had pretzels and a cheese platter, so I can't comment on the food. But it's very nicely located behind the Merchants' Bridge.

A really nice beer garden in Erfurt. Everything is very clean. I loved the restroom. It's located in a rustic vaulted ceiling. The decor is perfect. The interplay of old and modern is very well done.

A little more empathy would do some of the service staff good, especially on Ascension Day.

This visit was actually very disappointing... If you go to Augustiner in Munich, Dresden, or Berlin, you get the same exceptional quality everywhere! However, I would still highlight the main location in Munich! But the bottom line is that Augustiner stands for quality in all aspects, from the service to the food, and the beer deserves no further praise. Augustiner Erfurt unfortunately disappointed me a lot here, starting with the service. While the guys here were okay and on the ball, the Asian girls couldn't keep up the standard here. And I'm always willing to turn a blind eye to that. But appetizers come with the main course, with the main course arriving at the table first... here, no one asked, and they just assumed something. In Munich, Dresden, and Berlin, the outfit always matches Augustiner, i.e., lederhosen! In Erfurt, you missed that. It doesn't always have to be Meindl, but it's still part of the package. The food wasn't bad overall; it would be really unfair to say that at this point. The Obazda was completely substandard and truly couldn't be described as such, and an eyesore. It must be said that the Obazda is practically a trademark or flagship of Augustiner. On top of that, the light beer was completely flat and not fresh. When the Edelstoff beer was running again, it did improve, but it still didn't taste the way it should...as if the pipes weren't flushed enough. If you think about it, the beer and the Obazda were bad...at Augustiner!!!!! That doesn't work if you're used to Augustiner's standards and go to the main location in Munich at least three times a year. No, that's not right. Augustiner will definitely keep me as a customer, but it was the first and last time I went to Erfurt, and it left a really bad taste in my mouth. Aside from that, the location is really nice.

Good Bavarian cuisine and a great location with a view of the Krämerbrücke.

We visited you as part of a trade fair. Without a prior reservation and despite the busy restaurant, we were able to get a table for 6 people. Thank you. The service was very friendly, the food was excellent, and the beer was fantastic. We'd be happy to come back!

Very nice location. Near the Krämerbrücke bridge. Outdoor area (beer garden) and quaint, cozy interior. Very friendly staff. Reasonable price/performance ratio. We only had a few beers. 🙂 A must-visit for Erfurt!

We had a reservation for 1 p.m. We ordered two beers, but the order arrived after 20 minutes and was completely wrong, to boot. The food arrived after an hour. With enough imagination and goodwill, you could just call it lukewarm. The grilled meat was disappointing. Paying €23 for the lamb cutlets to be almost entirely bones is at least questionable, if not downright cheeky. (See photo) I've rarely been so disappointed. The sauerbraten was at best a pork roast, so you could spend less and probably get the same. The portion size was also questionable. As a thin woman, not even getting full after a grilled meat – eh. At least the ambiance is classic Bavarian rustic. But that was the only good thing about the visit.

Unfortunately, the food was completely cold for everyone at our table. The taste wasn't particularly tasty either. Fried potatoes without onions and bacon and also very tasteless. Too bad.

The rumors are only lukewarm, vegetables are frozen products, even lukewarm without spices, whether goulash, knuckle, sauerkraut or roast pork, always the same sauce. Creepy

Augustiner Bavarian Brauhaus in Erfurt! Classic Munich cuisine 🍻 and good beer. White sausages with sweet mustard, or meat loaf with mashed potatoes and braised onions. Here you can enjoy hearty cuisine, or simply sip a beer and sit at the bar. Service is friendly and attentive, it's a dream to eat here in summer! 😜

Beautifully located beer garden, beer tastes good, waitresses are friendly, good and fast service despite many guests. Unfortunately the potato dumplings were a bit floury on the inside, otherwise everything was good. Prices absolutely justified for the location. Highly recommended.

After a very friendly email contact with Mr. Machnik, we visited the restaurant on Friday. The restaurant was very well attended. We got the seats we ordered at the top with a great side view of the Krämerbrücke. You don't really have to write anything extra about the drinks and food. Everything tasted great, the portions were more than large enough and the prices were completely ok. We felt very comfortable and can only recommend the restaurant

Today we only had a small snack (potato with curd), simple but still a large portion for the normal price. The atmosphere is very nice, inside and outside when the weather is nice! We'd love to come!

The best thing you can do in Erfurt. Off to the Augustiner. Good beer, delicious food, great view of the Krämerbrücke and staff that is on the ball and never keeps you waiting long. Very clean toilets and a spacious outdoor area complete the offer. Even when ordering banana wheat, no one turns up their noses. Actually there should be 10 stars but unfortunately you are only allowed 5.... Absolute must in Erfurt. And all of this at very reasonable prices. So if you're in Erfurt, go to the Augustiner.

Were there at Easter. Had reserved a table. Everything worked without any problems. Rustic, cozy, traditional. You can sit inside or outside. Great view of the Krämerbrücke outside. The food was very tasty, fresh and a lot of regional Thuringian cuisine with a bit of a Bavarian touch. Service was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Price-performance ratio is great in our opinion. Everything was perfect for us and we would love to come back.

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on Easter Sunday. Ambience is good, service is ok, but the food is a disaster! The cauliflower was still almost raw, as were the potatoes. The schnitzel could hardly be cut, it was so tough. It was our last visit there!

We came here for lunch as a family of 12. The ambience and location are great. The service was also quick and friendly. The dishes all came together so that we could eat together. Most people didn't like the veal schnitzel with anchovies and capers. The composition sounded interesting, but the taste was just terrible. This meant that the veal schnitzel only tasted fishy. Half of the accompanying fried potatoes consisted only of onions. Too bad. The salad was missing some dressing and had no taste. Otherwise it was at least well done to the eye. Of course I can't judge the other dishes.

The Augustiner is comparable in style to the Hofbräuhaus. The cold kitchen was good (sausage, cheese, etc.) The warm dishes were rather poor. Several of the group's meals were lukewarm. The taste of the knuckle was below average. The overall ambience, the location and the drinks menu were very good. The service was rather below average. Several orders were forgotten. When asked questions or in conversation, people seemed annoyed or even rude. Overall, we won't be returning, at least not for a warm evening meal.

Delicious food but poor service: - The food tasted good, was warm (unfortunately the sauerkraut wasn't really that good anymore) and was reasonably priced - The beer was also tasty, but not quite poured up to the 0.5 mark. Not a particularly important point, but confirmed the overall impression. - Service: WELL! The waitress (Asian appearance) didn't smile once. After my food was at the table, she never once asked if it was tasty. I wasn't even asked if I wanted something to drink. After I finally asked for the bill, I waited a whopping 20 minutes before I could pay. She apologized and explained that there was a lot going on. Well, you are prepared for that in the catering industry 🤷 Ambience: At first it was quite cold in the dining room. This was criticized and remedied. The ambience itself is appealingly rustic. Conclusion: You can do it, you don't have to. There are better breweries.

A little bit of Munich in Erfurt in a centrally located restaurant. The ambience is very appropriate right on the Krämerbrücke.

You can forget about pretzels. Fresh from the microwave but warm. But the beer tastes good.

Very quaint restaurant. We had dinner here with a business group of 35 people. Everyone completely satisfied. The Augustiner has 3 floors, all of which were fully occupied on a Wednesday evening. Accordingly, it was a bit loud. The small drawback was that there was only one waiter responsible for our floor. He did his best, but it is in the nature of things that everything took a while. But we were in no hurry. The prices were fair for today's times. We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately, the mediocre service drowns out everything else

I recently went to the class reunion at the Augustiner in Erfurt - the location itself definitely has something to offer, especially the small terrace directly above the river is really nice and invites you to linger. Unfortunately, the rest was rather mixed. The vegetarian offering is really poor - there's still a lot possible! Especially these days you just expect a little more variety on the menu. The staff were visibly at their limit, but still friendly and tried hard - I really give them credit for that. Unfortunately, it was quite loud inside, so longer conversations sometimes became really tiring. All in all, a rather "mediocre" experience, but with potential for improvement if you tackle a few things. Maybe I'll try it again in six months - you should never give up until you've been there twice.

Shoutout to the nice colleague who was on the phone and simply hung up when I asked for a table. Yes, things can certainly be stressful and chaotic on a Friday... but simply hanging up is completely unacceptable. When I called back and asked why he hung up, he explained that it was a Friday and they were a Bavarian restaurant, blah blah blah. No excuse for such an action!

My potato soup tasted a bit like Maggi, the rump steak was gratinated with an interesting topping... it was quite ok... Augustiner beer is a matter of taste... and the East German cuisine classics... ok... you don't know that, but it went... the waiter was great and very attentive

I'm currently at the Augustiner Bräu. Restaurant with Bavarian, Thuringian and Ostalgie dishes. Located over several floors directly on the Krämerbrücke. Very well attended. Also the outside area. I had the beer goulash with 2 different classes. Very tasty and enough to fill you up. Delicious too 😋 Augustiner light. Had a lovely evening.

And 6 stars for Günni... Don't eat until tomorrow.

The Augustiner is located in a beautiful historic building. The guest rooms are spread over several floors, are not that big and are very comfortable. The menu includes Bavarian classics and Thuringian dishes. We received a friendly welcome, the service was quick and the food - Rostbrätel and farmer's breakfast - plentiful and tasty. If we are in Erfurt again, we would like to come back.

An Augustiner in Erfurt, expecting Bavarian cuisine here is somehow wrong. It's more or less a kind of interpretation of Bavarian cuisine and not necessarily a good one either. I can't speak for the "Ostalgie" menu, which features all kinds of specialties from the East. The portions are relatively large and I thought the table service was very good. It wasn't a problem getting a table for two people. I honestly thought the location was very good, it was quaint and cozy. I can also imagine that there is a great terrace in summer. Nevertheless, I still have a mixed overall impression here, as I associate Augustiner with something quintessentially Bavarian that you can't find here. But you also have to say that this is not the typical "tourist" economy. Somehow it feels like a place with an identity crisis. Well, there are certainly people who like it that way, after all it was well attended.

Augustiner speaks for itself. Go, enjoy, pay, leave and then come back. But please don't order any white sausages after 12 noon, that won't go down well ;)…

Dined in the restaurant once again and tried different dishes (steak with spiced meat, Rostbrätel, roast pork and barbecue areas) and once again let the enjoyment of the dish melt on your palate. It's not just the appealing, humorous depiction of the season ticket (DDR ticket) that invites you to eat, but the product itself. Here you can see that cooking is still done with attention to detail. This is rounded off with motivated and friendly service. Here you can only feel good

Very tasty food, very nice and attentive waiter and the best price-performance ratio in a restaurant for a long time. Great, can only be recommended! The location of the restaurant is of course also absolute on the Krämerbrücke.

We were there for lunch and got a table without any problems. The food was okay, there is Bavarian and Thuringian home cooking. The dark beer on tap was very tasty. The service worked and the waiter was nice. Thoroughly recommended, even if it’s right at the tourist hotspot of the Krämerbrücke.

Nice atmosphere, very rustic and cozy. Located in the middle of the old town. Service friendly and quick. Despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy, we were served quickly. Delicious cask soda and beer. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment!!! And the volume was unbearable, like in a train station. We wouldn't visit this restaurant again, despite the rustic atmosphere, which we liked.

It's always an absolute culinary delight, and the Hax'n is particularly recommended! We've eaten here so many times now and have never been disappointed, be it with the food or the service. All wishes are fulfilled without any problems and the rustic ambience without intrusive music is very pleasant. Our tip for Erfurt.

Unfortunately, the quality of the knuckle did not meet expectations, as did that of the baked potato. The kitchen needs to improve significantly here. The service was very friendly and attentive.

However, there was one small point of criticism - we had ordered a sauerbraten, which unfortunately was not edible because it had most likely been in the oven for too long - we informed the very nice waitress and she brought us a completely new dish! The restaurant is very nicely located. The interior is quaint and nice. The staff is friendly but not really interested in making the guest happy. After ordering an espresso macchiato, I asked what it was supposed to be? (it was warm water without milk) The waitress's shoulder-shrugging answer: “Yes, our coffee machine does it that way, ... people have complained about it several times...?!” 😳 The food wasn't perfect either. My duck was dry and tough... the red cabbage wasn't really soft and the pieces of cabbage were as big as if you had ordered a salad?! Too bad! I think it can only get better?! 😑

My wife and I just enjoyed a few good beers at the bar and were very entertained. Despite the full reservations, we were allowed to sit at the regulars' table. We'll come back to reserve a table to try the food.

Hello, we went to the Christmas market in Erfurt and ended up there by chance. The house was nicely finished with the Christmas outside area. Unfortunately, the female service inside was unfriendly or overwhelmed. To rate the food, which was the grill plate with fries, with one star is way too much. Fries tasted like everything but fries. Chicken meat not very creamy due to the meat, all in all about 30€ in the sand. But the beer tasted good

We visited the Augustiner at lunchtime and were looking forward to rustic tavern classics in a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant was moderately busy with around 25 guests; at the beginning we were almost alone. Unfortunately, the overall quality of the food and service was disappointing. The starter soups were all served lukewarm and the service seemed overwhelmed. The main course was also served on cold plates, which further detracted from the dining experience. Unfortunately, the grill plate with fries (around €30) was particularly negative: the meat patties and the neck steak had a noticeably sour note, although the neck was already very tender. The lamb chops were cooked through, the turkey was stringy and dry. Only the small Thuringian bratwursts stood out positively. After this meal we went to the Erfurt Christmas market full of hope, but the day was overshadowed by repeated visits to various ceramics departments in the city.

Always a real pleasure here with delicious food with very little waiting time despite the full restaurant and fast service staff.

We went to Augustiner for our Christmas party as a team and it was the best choice we could have made. Even beforehand, the organization was uncomplicated and professional. All wishes were taken into account. We felt comfortable from the start. The food was a real highlight. It was prepared with love, visually a pleasure and tasted very tasty. You could tell that people cook with heart here. Special praise goes to the service. The team was consistently friendly, attentive and accommodating. We were well looked after the whole time, without it seeming intrusive. Drinks were brought quickly, questions and requests were fulfilled immediately - we felt completely taken care of. Many thanks to the entire team!

We wanted Thuringian food so we stopped here. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The knuckle was very tasty and the dumplings were great. Unfortunately, the sauerbraten was a bit tough and had to be chewed well. Unfortunately the beans were too soft. The dumplings with mushroom cream were delicious.

Anyone who prefers dry pork loin, good beer, mediocre service and a good location is welcome here. The food in general was mediocre
