If you like Franconian cuisine, this is one of the best and most beautiful places. Here, the cooking is like Grandma's. Fresh and honest. As a guest, you feel like part of the family.

Very tasty food, friendly (Franconian-friendly 😉) staff. There aren't any luxury rooms, but we enjoy going there; the outdoor area is nice too. There's no playground. You can take a lovely walk in the forest right next door.

A cozy garden colony restaurant. I was there for the second time today, and it was delicious again. This time I had a catfish fillet; last time it was Cordon Bleu. The owner just left, drinks come quickly, everything is clean, and you can park right in front of the door. We'll be back!!!

The food is okay, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The wait for the food was extremely long, which made the visit quite unpleasant. The waiter, who is also the owner, comes across as very peculiar—at times unfriendly and even rude. You have to like his manner, otherwise you'd better stay away from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience for me. @google: I was informed that friends' negative reviews of the restaurant have been deleted.

We had the Cordon Bleu and the Gypsy Cordon Bleu. Both were incredibly delicious and huge. Juicy and well-filled. You can taste that it was freshly cooked in a pan. It's amazing; you don't get something like this very often.

Located in the middle of the allotments on the edge of a small town/village. It tastes like Grandma's when she used to prepare everything fresh. You can taste the passion and love for good food. Bring your appetite, as the portions are above average! Perso is attentive and friendly. You can also engage in good conversation. It's a shame we were only passing through. Pictured are Cordon Bleu, Jäger (hunter), and Gypsy (gypsy) dishes! Heavenly delicious!

We've been there several times and enjoyed it, but yesterday, after I ordered a schnitzel with an extra fork for myself and my daughter, I was told that that wasn't possible anymore and that we should order two portions otherwise it wouldn't be worth it! They did give us the fork "for the last time" after asking, but they were unfriendly and told us to go somewhere else next time. We'll do that!

Peter is a wonderful, friendly and welcoming host, and the typical Franconian cuisine is all freshly prepared and homemade. We'd love to come back.

The food is mediocre, and that's about the best I can say about this place. The so-called "pan schnitzel" is of frozen quality at best, the service is unfriendly, and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired.

Good food but steep price compared to the portion

Peter is a Franconian original and that's a good thing. Warm, authentic and the heart on the tongue. Speaking of tongue - the food was very tasty - I had gypsy cordon bleu - and it was freshly cooked. It was nice and warm and, in my opinion, its opening times are second to none. We'd love to come back.

The service was very nice to start on a positive note. The restaurant is shabby, dirty, with cobwebs on the ceilings and corners. Some of the food was inedible, the rest was difficult to digest. Salad from glasses, the dressing mixed with instant. Only the prices were decent. I wouldn't go there anymore.

Great host. Straightforward, honest and direct. Especially the sauerbraten, it is divine! Schnitzel is good, fried potatoes are good. Beer is ok too.

There were four of us in this restaurant today. That was the first and last time. After I cut into my cordon bleu twice, I noticed that it was completely raw. The same was with my girlfriend. I asked the extremely unstressed and loving innkeeper what we were going to do now... he took it away without comment and brought it back after 3 minutes, completely demolished and invisible... unfortunately it was still raw... then we said we didn't want it anymore and... whether he comes towards us... He said he can't do anything about it. Instead of 20 euros we only have to pay 18... absolutely ridiculous. When we paid, my friend said she wouldn't come back... he replied cheekily: Do you cook better and are perfect? ​​You're on top and with you everything is always perfect, incredibly easy! The ambience takes some getting used to, but on a sunny day it's easy to live in the beer garden. I found the food cart clattering over the paving stones to bring the food annoying. The schnitzel, currywurst and fries tasted very good. Unfortunately, the homemade sauce for the currywurst didn't suit our taste at all and in our opinion had nothing to do with a currywurst sauce. Unfortunately, the dumpling with sauce was also relatively bland. We were totally perplexed when we asked for ketchup and mayo and the answer we got was, “Well, it’s a pan schnitzel and it’s not a schnitzel from the fryer, we’ve done away with that a long time ago! There is none here!” - I would like such opinionated statements from our German politicians, but not from the landlord who tells me how I should eat my schnitzel with French fries. At least there should be ketchup and mayo with the fries, especially if you are traveling with children. So to everyone who plans to go: don't forget ketchup and mayo! It was emphasized several times that the food took longer because everything was freshly prepared - and that was the case, but there are also many other restaurants where the food is freshly prepared and delivered quickly. Finally, you'll occasionally be greeted with Franconian charm when you ask for another drink while the plates are being cleared. "I can't do anything more than bear!"

I have had several visits to these good bourgeois restaurants. Family celebrations are always very happy too. You have to like the ambience but no one can say anything against the food. The schnitzels are freshly cut and prepared. The prices and the price/performance ratio are unparalleled!

There were two of us there, the food was very tasty, roulade (super tender) 2 dumplings and salad as well as Jäger Cordon Bleu with fries and salad, huge portions, but there are plates for seniors, great value for money, rustic host... I really liked it , hope places like this are supported, great beer garden, I'll stop here again when I get the chance!

Food was ok, large portion. The staff was mostly friendly. You have to bring your own mayo and ketchup for the schnitzel with fries, as they say they don't carry any on purpose. In addition, people made jokes about our son because he was just crying, which we didn't find funny. Our daughter's high chair was totally dirty, it could easily be cleaned, especially with children who put everything in their mouths anyway.

A huge Schäufala with 2 dumplings (with Breckala inside) and a side salad like grandma's. Meat buttery soft and the crust perfect! Nice hosts! We recommend!

Ich habe heute, bei meinem Geburtstag, mit Familie dort gegessen. Ich habe vorher natürlich Bewertungen im Internet gegoogelt und ehrlich gesagt werde ich das nie mehr tun. Lieber werde ich es vorher selbst probieren. " Auf der Hut" hatte nämlich negative Bewertungen, was ich aber nicht verstehe denn: Chef Peter is halt a voller Färder und das passt a so....die Bedienung auch nett. Das Essen hat mir und meiner Familie super geschmeckt. Lecker! Die " auf der Hut Kneipe" ist vom Aussehen halt kein 5 Sterne Restaurant, aber als Färder will man das nicht. Da will man natürliches und lockeres Klima dort wo man in Ruhe sitzen kann. Und wenn dann am Fenster auch noch weiss/grün Greuther Fürther Fussallfahnen hängen, dann ist ein richtiger "Färder" zufrieden.

Essen ist OK! Soßen ist alles fertig Pulver. Portion ist groß. Sehr sehr einfach alles gehalten. Preise aber dennoch Restaurant Niveau…. Positiv, bis 1 Uhr nachts geöffnet. Speisekarten sind stark verschmutzt .

Chef ist ein echter fränkischer Aboriginal. Kleine Gartengastätte mit Vereinsheimatmosphäre. Offen von 11 bis 1h. Farnbacher Nächte sind lange. Preise wie ein großer, macht aber die Schnitzel in der Pfanne und die Klöße frisch. Ins Hofmann Bier kannst Dich nur langsam rein trinken. Passt scho würde man fränkisch zu dem Lokal sagen.

Optisch zwar einfacher gehalten, aber sehr gute fränkische Küche alles wird frisch gekocht. Überragendes Schäuferle und Cordon bleu. Die Pommes extrem lecker 😋 Auch endlich mal genug Sosse beim Schäuferle, der Beilagensalat auch nicht 08/15 und superlecker angemacht. Portionen sind sehr reichhaltig und daher den Preisen entsprechend. Preise sind im Bezug auf Qualität der Speisen absolut gerechtfertigt. Flotter Service und sehr nette Gespräche inklusive! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ambiente sehr urrig aber gemütlich. Der Service einfach toll lustig unterhaltsam. Das Essen für den Preis bekommt man mehr als ausreichend. Man sollte auf jeden Fall sich Tupper Schüsseln mitnehmen. Die Potzionen sind mehr als ausreichend.

Essen war zwar super reichlich und auch schmackhaft doch leider ist das Ambiente nicht super einladend gewesen. Sehr lieblos. Schade eigentlich.

Nicht von aussen täuschen lassen. Unscheinbar. Aber sehr gutes und frisches Essen und zusätzlich sehr große Portionen. Wirt freundlich und immer nen lockeren Spruch drauf. Kann man echt weiter empfehlen.
