Athos in Siegen

We were there as a couple. The waiter came very quickly and asked what we wanted to drink—we needed a moment. Generally, I like to look at the menu first to see what drinks are offered. The food was ordered quickly and brought to the table just as quickly. The food was good, but not special—sufficient, but nothing to write home about. The gyros in Metaxa sauce tasted very much like a convenience product. The fries were okay, but the gyro salad was swimming in oil. The gyros was just sort of piled on top, with a little tomato, cucumber, and a tiny bit of bell pepper... and a green salad. The only good thing was the bread, which was warm. We weren't offered any more drinks after we finished ours, so we left quickly. The price-performance ratio wasn't really right, and we won't be coming back. The tables are very close together, so you could easily hear the conversations at the other tables; it was too cramped for us. The restaurant is very cozy, and it must be lovely to sit outside in the summer. There was plenty of parking available.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say. The food has always been excellent. The atmosphere is great. The service is friendly and always quick. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. It's not too loud. And Steinbachs always has a lot of fun with the team and the guests we bring. Again and again. I would give even more stars if I could. 💪💪💪💪

The seasoning was good, though it could have been a bit more robust in some places. But that's a matter of personal taste. As I said, the food was good. The ambiance was quite special, and you feel like you're on holiday in a Greek restaurant. Great. Our conclusion. We'd be happy to go back anytime.

A Greek restaurant that doesn't look particularly inviting from the outside. BUT, the interior is very rustic, with a Mediterranean feel to it, thanks to the decor. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired grill, which really stands out in terms of flavor. The meat dishes are also delicious – although the pork fillet was a bit dry. Otherwise, a solid Greek restaurant!

We met up with friends at Athos in Siegen. It was a lovely evening with delicious food. The service was very friendly and attentive. It was busy, but our orders were delivered promptly. The Athos platter is highly recommended. The various meat variations were delicious, as were the salad and fries. The dessert was also excellent. I highly recommend going there.

The food itself wasn't bad, but was unfortunately overshadowed by the poor service. We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks and had to ask four times whether we could pay. In total, we waited 45 minutes to get the bill. Therefore, we won't be coming back.

A beautifully decorated restaurant with excellent parking. Friendly staff showed us to our reserved table. We were the first guests, so the Chef's and Mykonos plates were brought promptly. Both were delicious, and I would particularly like to highlight the fried potatoes from the Chef's plate. Excellent value for money; we'll be back.

The restaurant is beautifully and lovingly furnished and super cozy, at least the part on the right when you come in the door. The large room on the left appealed to us less. The beer garden in particular looks very inviting for warmer days, also lovingly designed in Greek style. Our service was also very nice and prompt. There was also an ouzo on the house at the end. Unfortunately, the food didn't really blow us away. Gyros were okay, but you can get better in almost every snack bar. But we found the Bifteki in particular disappointing. The meat was very, very dry and crumbly, unfortunately not as juicy as one would have liked. If you order bifteki individually, there isn't even tzatziki included, which makes the whole thing a very dry affair. The feta in the filling was also very flavorless and didn't contribute anything to the overall taste. We didn't like the fact that you have to pay extra for mayo. The fact that only one of two packages was eaten, but both were still accounted for, is not necessarily correct either. Overall, we had a nice evening, but we wouldn't come back again just because of the food.

Unfortunately, salad dressing and some meat taste like Covienience products. Sometimes very over-seasoned. I work in the catering industry myself and recognize when “homemade” is offered. This simply means that a convenience product is modified and not completely manufactured in-house.

Overall, a very positive impression, which you wouldn't initially expect from the street side. The outdoor area/beer garden is as you would imagine. Certainly a great atmosphere in summer. The entrance and interior areas also implement the Greek theme very well. The dishes are very tasty and extensive, so that everyone gets their money's worth and, above all, is full. Card payment only possible by EC card, not Mastercard (but there is no deduction for this due to the otherwise exclusively positive points).

My husband and I took a break near Granted victories. Since we had wanted to eat Greek for a long time, my husband googled a restaurant and came across Athos. When we got there, the restaurant opened shortly beforehand. We ordered gyro plates twice. Since I put down fries, salad and even the tzatziki (I know that's incomprehensible to many people), I wanted to eat Greek noodles with the gyro. The waiter told me he had to charge the full price plus the pasta (a whopping €6.90!) extra. Since I didn't want to cause a fuss, I accepted it. When the food came, the gyro meat was very dried out and looked like it had been reheated from the day before. There was no meat, just dry, crispy pieces of gyro. My husband hardly ate anything and was of course disappointed because we finally wanted to enjoy Greek food. When the waiter cleared away we asked for the bill, he asked if everything was OK. Then I said not really, because the meat was very dry and it was more like chips. The waiter's answer was, "I can't do anything about it now." I then told him that he didn't have to ask if everything was okay!!! When he offered us an ouzo, we refused because it wasn't appropriate at all at that moment! We would have preferred our complaint to have been taken seriously!!!! We will definitely not be able to recommend this restaurant and will never go there again!!! I rarely write reviews and, if at all, I prefer positive ones!!! But here I just had to express my opinion because it wasn't of interest locally

The four of us had a lovely evening in this restaurant yesterday. The ambience is very Greek right from the entrance and you also feel very comfortable inside. We had a very friendly and humorous waiter. The wait for drinks and food was perfectly fine (the restaurant was busy [on a Saturday]). The quality and preparation of the food was top, we enjoyed it very much. The portions were generous. Prices for food and drinks are also fair. All in all, a visit to Athos is worth it! It's best to call and reserve in advance.

Zusammenfassung nichts besonderes. Der Standart-Grieche innen mit dem üblichen Ambiente und Musik. Außen der Hof sieht sehr gut aus. Gestört hat mich der Kellner der ein Auftreten hat als ob wir verwand sind.... mag ich nicht. Ich muss mich vor ihm auch nicht erklären warum ich dies und das nicht gegessen7 aufgegessen habe.

Ein Stück Griechenland in Siegen. Lammkeule mit Bratkartoffeln und Feta - einfach lecker. Oder einfach mal den frischen Fisch probieren. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Das Essen der Service einfach perfekt die Portionen waren reichhaltig und hat alles super geschmeckt das Tzatziki war selbst gemacht und hat super lecker geschmeckt wir waren auf jeden Fall nicht das letzte Mal dort und kommen gerne wieder. Das Personal ist zudem sehr freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Für uns war diese Portion zu viel man kann es aber auf Wunsch dort einpacken lassen für zu Hause.
