Artemis in Quedlinburg

Four of us were in Quedlinburg for a city tour with a night watchman and wanted something to eat beforehand. First, the positives: typical Quedlinburg, an old half-timbered house with a rustic interior. The staff were very prompt, and the restrooms were clean. Now for the negatives, unfortunately, there were quite a few. Upon closer inspection, you could see cobwebs on the ceilings; the food was unfortunately not good! My wife ordered garlic bread, which was unfortunately moldy! When I mentioned the moldy bread, there was initially no reaction at all. Tzatziki was unseasoned Greek yogurt with a bit of cucumber. No salt, pepper, or lime juice. The Metaxa sauce was "refined" with Maggi, which was clearly noticeable. The Cretan potatoes had a strong ayran flavor, and the sauce was super runny. I probably wouldn't have written a review if the prices were low, but they aren't! Every main course costs over €20, sometimes considerably more. For that, I expect home-cooked food. When it came to the bill, another waiter apologized to us and refunded us €5 for the garlic bread.

It was a lovely evening at Artemis. The food was delicious and the staff friendly. I'm deducting one star because some of the bread for the appetizer wasn't completely thawed, and ouzo was automatically brought to us at the beginning without asking if we wanted it. Furthermore, the menu, while very extensive, is very confusing. But that's just nitpicking. 😉

Vi fik noget lækkert autentisk græsk mad. Vi fik dog leveret 3 apfelschorle uden brus. Dette blev dog hurtigt fikset. Ok restaurant. Kan anbefales at sidde inde. Virkelig hyggeligt indrettet.

Historic restaurant, the portions were really large and delicious

We've actually been going to this Greek restaurant for several years. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly. We always get the 76 (chicken breast fillet with Metaxa sauce), but the meat isn't as tasty as it seems! The texture of the meat is squeaky and gristly. They probably no longer buy high-quality meat, preferring cheap, processed meat. It's a shame, because the Greek restaurant was really good... Strangely, the same thing happened to us at the other Greek restaurant, Helena (perhaps the same meat supplier).

Everything's just right here. The location is cozy and quirky. The staff is friendly and quick. The food is delicious and plentiful. The prices are completely reasonable, and the food is free. Great, we'll be back.

My family and I spontaneously got a table at 6:30 p.m. on Ascension Day weekend without a prior reservation. After ordering, we waited about 45 minutes without the food being served or being informed of its whereabouts. After we inquired, we waited another 30 minutes for the food. When the food finally arrived, my order was missing side dishes. After I pointed this out to the server, the missing side dishes were placed on the table without a word and from behind, half over my shoulder, which I found unpleasant and rude. In general, the male staff seemed quite brusque; only one young female employee was friendly. The quality of the food was good to very good, and everyone at the table was full. The ambiance and decor in the restaurant were pleasant and comfortable. The overall impression was unfortunately dominated by the very long wait time and the predominantly unfriendly staff.

The food was very good, and we had so much that we had the rest packed up. The waiters were all very friendly, and the restrooms were very clean. We sat outside, and the few passing cars didn't bother us.

Our visit actually started so well! Even though the restaurant was full for a Monday evening, we still managed to get a table. The drinks arrived quickly, the service was friendly, and then the problem arose: our table and the tables immediately next to us were simply forgotten for an hour. No one came, no one asked if we needed anything else. Our food then arrived after over an hour, which is unacceptable! The food was good, but nothing special! I then had to go back to the counter for the bill because there was no service for 15 minutes. Such a shame!

Highly recommended. We were there yesterday and had a delicious meal (lamb shank and gyros). Friendly and attentive staff rounded off the visit. The price/performance ratio is okay, especially since they offer a good salad with the main courses. We wish the owners many more satisfied guests.

Wir standen vor verschlossener Tür, weil Ruhetag war - die App aber offen anzeigte. Das ist extrem ärgerlich, da wir extra durch die halbe Stadt gewandert sind. Auch der Link zur Website funzt nicht. Hoffentlich sind die Köche und Kellner etwas sorgfältiger, als der IT-Mensch!!

Well, not every day is the same. We were very unlucky. The meat was cooked very dry and we couldn't eat it. We then told the waiter at the table. He left without a word and came back later with the explanation that we should have said that we don't like dry meat, then they would have made it juicy too. Whoever believes it will be saved and everyone else will also go to heaven. Speaking of juicy..., the bill was succulent and full, without any concessions, no ouzo, no honey balls and no attempt to soften us up for this miserable meal. When we wanted to have a substantive conversation again, the waiter became rude, insulted us and said we had better leave (to put it politely). We have been to many Greek restaurants and it was nice, filling, friendly and tasty, but We never want to go there again. LG

Very cozy restaurant and very friendly service. Eater is very tasty and large portions. Unfortunately, the starter salad was forgotten and 1 ouzo was only at the start. What's not possible is if you order a meal without gluten, you get flatbread with it and the waitress can't tell you what ingredients it contains. Toilets are clean, but you shouldn't necessarily look at the ceiling there. This could happily be cleaned. Otherwise, gladly again.

A huge thank you to all the Artemis employees! A reservation for half an hour before the kitchen closed, then we were still too late. Nevertheless, we were still able to eat and drink comfortably. Thank you for this extraordinary goodwill on an evening of the Quedlinburg Volleyball City Tournament!

Normally this is my favorite Greek in QLB. I was really looking forward to the mushroom soup, cappuccino and nut ice cream today. Unfortunately I am very disappointed. The mushroom soup was hot, but didn't taste like what I know from this Greek restaurant. Another cook in the kitchen? The cappuccino? Well, I've actually had a lot of delicious drinks and the nut ice cream? Didn't find a nut in it. Too bad for the restaurant. The waiters were also friendlier. We had pre-booked the table. I visited Artemis during my vacation and had an overall positive experience. The food was very tasty, fresh and authentically prepared. I particularly liked the spices and the preparation of the dishes. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting - perfect for enjoying your holiday in pleasant surroundings. The staff was also extremely friendly and accommodating, which made you feel right at home. Overall, a great restaurant with delicious food, pleasant atmosphere and nice service. I can only recommend it

Satisfactory, nothing more, nothing less. It used to be the best Greek in Quedlinburg, but that's gone. Bad wines (in terms of taste), worst mocha I've ever been served (water with taste). Food was good, but didn't blow everyone away. For the price we expected something different.

The atmosphere is pleasant and the food tasty. Care could improve. All tables say “reserved” even if there is an hour left before closing. That way they seat you where it is most comfortable for them, not for the client.

Solid Greek restaurant in Quedlinburg. I had a starter salad, followed by baked calamari with rice and steamed vegetables. The calamari was really good, as was the rice. Unfortunately, the vegetables were mixed frozen foods, cooked too soft for my taste and not well seasoned. The big BUT: The prices are really steep. The calamari costs €23, the salad costs €2.50 extra. Maybe that's because of the area (Harz, tourist region), but it's still a lot of money for average performance. In addition, we were very firmly asked to leave shortly before (not at or after) 10 p.m. Well, it was during the week, but still too early for my taste. For the vegetarians among us: find another restaurant. Vegetables here are almost only available in converted versions, i.e. as meat. The list of dishes there is really long (too long). The vegetarian alternatives, on the other hand, can be overlooked if you squint unfavorably. Conclusion: food ok, prices really high.

We've eaten there countless times and the atmosphere is every time just as beautiful and harmonious as we're used to from previous visits there. We therefore highly recommend the restaurant, as the staff always greets us warmly and attentively and implements our constant special requests with a friendly smile. 😌👌🏽

Excellent food, I can't get such a great Metaxa sauce anywhere. The rest of the dishes are also very good. There is a wide selection. Unfortunately, things are becoming more and more expensive here too. I would still like to come back.

Beautiful, cozy restaurant with plenty of space. We were warmly welcomed and had a delicious meal. The prices are reasonable and not too expensive. The team is super nice.

It's a shame that there's no salad for free, but otherwise good Greek food in a very nice city. That also forgives the prices somewhat. There are little things that are just not OK but are bearable. (The beer wasn't exactly 0.5L) But the ambience is really nice so we forgive that too. 4 stars. Next time, despite the stress, maybe give the guest (me) a little more special.

I went out to eat here for the first time with my wife 17 years ago when we fell in love, she was 17 and I was 21. Those were good times. It tasted very good back then and the service was very, very nice. I was constantly given more ouzo. I have no idea why they did that, but I didn't have to pay anything for it, it was on the house. We will be visiting Quedlinburg again soon and will eat there again this time as a family. It's hard to believe how time flies.

Typical Greek restaurant, the good one is open Monday - Tuesday. Where most of the restaurants are. So get in straight away and get a seat. There was also an ouzo as a welcome 🖖 Small salad first, had gyros in Metaxa sauce with cheese gratinated and tomato rice. And bifteki filled with sheep's cheese and potato wedges, the tzatziki tasted very good with it. Super tasty and good portions, good value for money! Very friendly hospitality and service. I can recommend going!

Wir waren zu 7. zum Abendessen. Das Restaurant war komplett gefüllt. Der Service am Tisch war recht ordentlich. Aber das Essen kann mit anderen Griechen in Quedlinburg nicht mithalten. Preis Leistung war aber soweit in Ordnung. Wir haben nur knapp über 200 Euro für 4 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder bezahlt. (Vorspeise, Hauptgang und 2mal Dessert) Aber das Essen an sich ist keine Empfehlung wert. Es war nicht heiß, die Metaxasauce hat wie eine Fertigsauce geschmeckt und auf den kleinen Salat vor dem Essen wurde komplett verzichtet. Und der Ouzo war auch mehr Wasser als alles Andere.

Incredibly bad service! For 45 minutes - with the restaurant almost empty - no waitress came to the table to ask if there were any more drinks you wanted! Then at 9:45 p.m. the bill was brought without asking. When we asked why we were asked to leave the restaurant well before it closed, we were forced to listen to the waiter's outrageous statement: "After all, he's been working all day and has a family." Unbelievable but true. By far the worst and rudest service...

Very nice and friendly staff, there was always someone within reach to watch the outside terrace. Extra requests were no problems and the location was very nice.

Despite the unoccupied tables, you are forced to eat outside, otherwise you won't be greeted in a very friendly manner inside. Very bad style - I left again.

I'm sorry, but I can't really recommend this place. But the service was really very friendly!!! We had grilled sheep's cheese... but it wasn't grilled, it was just served warm in a casserole dish... served with peppers... no idea why... The mixed vegetable platter was, above all, very clear! 5 wafer-thin slices each, breaded eggplant and zucchini slices. Free of spices and salt. The "Cretan potatoes" were drowned in an indefinable, incredible, fatty, pink sauce and then baked. Since I was there with a Greek friend, they both suspected that neither the chef nor the owner could be Greek. This really has NOTHING to do with Greek cuisine. Plus...it wasn't exactly cheap now.

The table outside was ok. I swapped the dried flower with one from another table. The food was good. I had the stuffed pork tenderloin and my husband had gyros. Since neither of us is consuming any carbohydrates at the moment, we skipped the fries and the tomato rice. My husband took a small salad instead. I used green beans instead. When the bill came, the tourist scam also came. Both meals were charged in full and my meal was charged full price, plus the beans. When I explained to the waiter that I didn't have any rice AND no fries, he said I should have said that instead. Ridiculous behavior with a bill of 72 euros for two. I do NOT recommend it!!!!

We just had dinner there and it was very nice. You're sitting in the middle of the old town of Quedlinburg and it's a special feeling when you sit outside and can admire it. The food was very good, and typically Greek a bit too much. The service was great and very friendly. I highly recommend it!

Phew, it had a real pub feel when we walked in. Loud, dark, stuffy. The service was quick, but that was it. The dishes are boring and have snack quality. There was no side salad, you could order it separately for a lot of money. We spent 55 euros for the two of us on mediocre food in a dark hole. Price-performance ratio is not right, not a recommendation.

Since we only arrived that day, we had to find a restaurant that still had seats available and that's how we ended up there. Ambiance was typically kitschy, crowded and very dark. The light was so bad that you could hardly read the map properly. As a starter I had stuffed grape leaves, which came to the table in a warm tomato sauce, which wasn't on the menu. The taste was OK but not outstanding. For the main course I had pork fillet with cheese gratin. It wasn't easy to get something on the menu that didn't have Metaxa sauce on it, which I found annoying. I would definitely have preferred a regular suflaki or a grilled squid. There wasn't even a side salad with the meal, just chips or rice. The rice was lukewarm and bland and the meat and cheese were far too fatty. We were all very disappointed and the price wasn't exactly cheap either.

I often come here with my friends and have often been to this restaurant as a child. I've always felt comfortable there and that's why I gave it 5 stars. However, I only gave 4 stars for the food/service/ambience because everything has become very expensive since then, the quality has deteriorated somewhat and despite everything, we always like to come back.
