Simply a gem for sushi. Love it!

First, the ambiance. Simply furnished but clean. The service is really good. The staff was friendly and attentive to the guests' needs. The food was really good. The dishes were served at a very good temperature and beautifully presented on the plates. The taste was impeccable. The price-performance ratio is good. For my part, I can highly recommend this restaurant.

It's busy, so reservations are essential. Parking is a bit hit and miss. But the owner is super nice and has the place under control.

Here at Aroma, you can really enjoy a good meal. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and tastes truly exceptional. I certainly wasn't expecting that. The ambiance is rather simple. But aside from that, that doesn't necessarily make for good food. Everything looks clean and well-organized. The staff is polite and attentive to their guests. All in all, I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. Besides, the prices are reasonable for what you get.

Sushi is the best in Essen. But the man who served us was quite rude. First, he argued with us that I had forgotten to give him a number. It's not a problem if you forget an order; we just wanted to point it out and reorder it, very politely. But he immediately went on the defensive, even though we weren't at all interested in finding someone to blame, and he started arguing with us. Then he asked us if we wanted another drink. I thanked him for looking again, not at the moment, and he cheekily said: "I didn't mean her, I meant the young lady" (by which he meant my friend). I was shocked. Afterwards, he came back to me and wanted to explain that my glass was still a third full and my friend's glass was empty. Totally unnecessary. With him, the customer is not king. I'm seriously considering not eating there again, despite how delicious the food is. I don't think you should start an argument and then blame the customer.

Always impressed! I usually get the curry – this time I tried the udon noodles for the first time: also incredibly delicious! Fair prices, generous portions, and top-notch service and ambiance.

We went there because of the good reviews...Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine. Aside from the pho, nothing was particularly delicious. Perhaps we should stick to Vietnamese. We were looking forward to fried spring rolls, but we didn't get them. Then we reordered later...but then you're not supposed to order the dishes listed directly under the picture of the spring rolls. Then we were disappointed, of course...but nobody cared. We had to take the incorrectly ordered food with us; we didn't order the spring rolls either; they didn't care that they had been forgotten.

The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. We were there on a Friday evening and it wasn't too crowded. There was a lot of choice on the menu - also vegan and vegetarian. The food was incredibly tasty and didn't take long to arrive. The atmosphere here was very pleasant and calm. Relaxing music was playing in the background. If I lived near here, I would definitely be here more often.

The most important thing first: it was delicious! I had grilled tuna on salad, well seasoned, well cooked, nothing to complain about. The fear that there might be too little didn't come true; I was definitely full even without starter and dessert. Service was attentive and friendly, although I had to wait a bit because the order was lost, the waitress was obviously more unpleasant than I was. Minor point deduction for the ambience. Sitting on the terrace at the back of the station isn't very romantic; inside there's a pan-Asian eclecticism that doesn't quite suit my taste. Still five stars because the food and service completely suited my taste.

Unfortunately, from my point of view, only mediocre. Neither the summer rolls impressed me (quite dry), nor the glass noodle salad “with vegetables” in which I had to look for the vegetables with a magnifying glass. Too expensive for what you get. Too bad. Service friendly.

We ordered sushi and it was delicious! The rolls are lovingly prepared and served on a slate platter. There are no long waiting times here, the starter was at the table within a few minutes. Conclusion: Super delicious food. A clear recommendation! 🤩

The food was absolutely fantastic! It would be a real shame if you only ordered one dish. We had a starter (vegetarian coconut soup), main course (spring rolls on rice noodles) and dessert (baked banana). All dishes are phenomenally seasoned, fresh and extremely tasty!!!

Accidental discovery! Luckily :-) we were very positively surprised. The selection, food and service were great. The ingredients for both dishes were fresh and selected. I really had the impression that someone had thought about it and was bringing authentic Vietnamese cuisine with quality standards to Germany. I had V21 with marinated tofu in betel leaves, which was aromatic, fresh and very sufficient in quantity. The price of just under €17 is absolutely appropriate. Special mention should be made of the warm service, all the employees were courteous and really friendly! We'd love to come back when we're in Essen!

Good food at a reasonable price

Delicious. Staff is also very friendly. What I also highly recommend is the local Pho soup. We said that we would like to try typical Vietnamese and the waitress recommended the Pho soup. The boss brought the recipe herself from Vietnam. We were very pleasantly surprised that something so watery tasted so delicious and aromatic. We never imagined that something so watery would taste so delicious and aromatic. For everyone who (like us) is only fixated on sushi, I would definitely recommend trying this Pho soup.

One of the best Korean cuisine I have ever eaten. I discovered the shop by chance because I still had time for my train. I was so excited, I went there a second time today. The homemade tagliatelle, as well as the shrimp and the salad, all perfect and high quality. Clear photos and good reviews attracted us to the Aroma restaurant. We were welcomed so warmly and warmly, as if we were the most expected and valued guests. The ambience and atmosphere were a delight for the eyes and ears. A glowing aquarium with rare fish sits in the middle of the restaurant and constantly attracts attention. The guests come in groups and some may find it loud, but we actually liked it, it seems celebratory. I ordered salmon and my husband ordered beef with rice and salad - it was delicious and beautifully presented. A novelty for us was the Vietnamese coffee, which was strained and filtered directly into the cup and the cup already contains condensed milk. We were passing through Essen and will definitely come back next time.

I am visiting from Bulgaria this place and i should totally recommend it because even the beer tastes like home. There is this waitress named Jo Escobar- she is the best waitress till now Im meeting. If i decide to visit Essen again I will come here just because of her!

Very tasty food and friendly staff in a pleasant atmosphere.

The taste was good, but it gets loud very quickly when it's full. The dumplings were still frozen inside and my friend got duck instead of chicken. To be fair, it has to be said that we could have complained about this and would certainly have received the correct response. But then the food would probably have ended up in the trash and that was too bad for us.

The day before yesterday we ate at Aroma in Essen. We really enjoyed everything: the cuisine, the atmosphere, the service. Thank you for the lovely time.

A lovely Vietnamese restaurant with friendly and quick service. The summer rolls were fresh and delicious, and the mango salad actually had a lot of mango and was very tasty. The sushi was good—nothing extraordinary, but fresh and tasty. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but the quality of the food justifies them. Overall, a successful visit, and I'd be happy to come back!

The AROMA Vietnamese Kitchen & Sushi Bar offers acceptable food, but the price-performance ratio is not quite right. The beer was too warm for my taste, which spoiled the experience a bit. Overall there is room for improvement, but the atmosphere is pleasant.

Everything is fresh, served well and suitable for me as an allergy sufferer (to wheat). The sweet waitress who called me “Schatzi” rounded it off. We'll be back 🫶🏼

Went there in the evening and just wanted something quick to eat. We got the card quickly, but were simply ignored for over 10 minutes afterwards. Who knows how long we would have waited there. Apparently they have enough customers here and don't care about their guests. Other guests next to us wanted to pay and had been waiting for a long time. Thanks for nothing, we'll go somewhere else. A culinary experience at the highest level – this is how my visit to Aroma in Essen can be accurately described. As soon as I entered the stylishly furnished restaurant, I noticed the warm, inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent from the start - attentive, friendly and at the same time unobtrusive. The food selection was impressive and every dish we ordered turned out to be a masterpiece. The crispy fried sushi with its perfect balance of creaminess and crunch was a delight. The spicy Tom Kha Gai was a true taste explosion - a harmonious combination of coconut milk, lemongrass and subtle spiciness. The juicy teriyaki chicken, artfully served with sesame seeds and crunchy vegetables, was another highlight. Not to forget: the coffee – an aromatic composition with a velvety crema that was the perfect conclusion to the menu. The presentation of all dishes was not only visually appealing, but also reflected the high quality and freshness of the ingredients. A restaurant that impresses with exquisite cuisine, outstanding service and a welcoming atmosphere. A visit to Aroma is more than just a meal – it's an experience not to be missed.

This restaurant had a great ambiance. The food was excellent and well-prepared. The only small issue was the cola—the first one I received was completely flat, lacking any fizz. However, when I pointed it out, the staff quickly replaced it with a fresh one, which was much better. Would definitely recommend!

We were seduced by the good reviews and were then very disappointed. It's very loud. The map is very large and diverse. We then had the red Thai curry and peanut sauce with crispy duck. Both were very nicely prepared but unfortunately really bland and without any pizzazz. The duck was also absolutely not crispy. The toilet was absolutely unkempt and dirty, someone here has perfected the cleaning and quick wiping over.

Unfortunately, the ratings are significantly too high for the food. This was simply boring in terms of taste and ultimately disappointing, it lacked the AROMA. There are better alternatives in the Ruhr area for eating Vietnamese. Service was okay, atmosphere loud and a bit stuffy, prices too high for the quality of the food.
