Feels like home. I haven't eaten Chinese food in a foreign place for a long time. It's rare to find a Chinese restaurant. The dishes are good, with a wide variety and delicious. The waiter is very hospitable.

Disappointing visit - never again! I have rarely been so disappointed by a visit to a restaurant. According to the internet, the restaurant was open until 3 p.m., we arrived around 1:45 p.m. for a quick lunch break. As soon as we got a table (the waiter was probably the boss), we were immediately asked what we would like to eat - before we were even seated or had a chance to look at the menu. Not a minute later he came back and asked again. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, after a few minutes we were asked to move to another table as “this table is needed”. Very strange. We ordered two starters - they came within two minutes, which was suspiciously quick. Before we could even start, the main course arrived - also after about two minutes. We had to eat everything so quickly that my girlfriend even burned her mouth. For the main course we had lamb for €25 and chicken for €15.50 - both dishes tasted absolutely identical: same dark (soy) sauce, identical vegetables, no difference whatsoever. Simply disappointing for the price. Conclusion: If you like to be processed quickly, want little quality for a lot of money and want to leave disappointed in the end, this is the right place for you. Otherwise: stay away!

An absolute failure – disappointing and rude! We were looking forward to a relaxing lunch, but this visit to the restaurant was just frustrating. As soon as it was on the table, the main course arrived. We had to eat everything at the same time, like we were at a fast food joint. It happened so quickly that my lips were burned by the still steaming hot food. The food itself was also disappointing. Two main courses - one with lamb (€25) and one with chicken (€15.50) - tasted absolutely identical. Both were covered in the same dark sauce and the same vegetables. No difference, no discernible taste that justifies the price. In short: If you want to be treated badly and have to dig deep into your pockets, this is the right place for you. For everyone else: leave it alone - absolutely no recommendation!

We entered the restaurant at 2 p.m. We were told in a very rude manner by a member of staff that the kitchen would close in 5 minutes. We could sit down, but we would have to decide within 5 minutes, otherwise we would be out of luck. We chose to leave the restaurant and will never visit it again. Lunch is offered until 3 p.m. One star is too many.

This Chinese restaurant we visited in Germany had great-tasting food. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the cooking was meticulous. It was originally a memorable place. However, it ended on an unpleasant note. Today, six of us were having a meal, chatting, and still had some beer left in our glasses when the staff started clearing our table.They didn’t ask if we were finished, or if we wanted dessert. They just directly cleared everything, making us feel like they were rushing us out, eager to finish their shift. Yet, when we left, many tables were still slowly enjoying their desserts and drinks. I noticed that all these people were white, with not a single Chinese person among them. I decided to share this feeling with the staff member, but he didn’t accept the feedback. Two days ago, the same waiter served us when we paid the bill of 172.5 euros. We gave him 200 euros in cash, and he directly asked if we could accept just 20 euros in change, keeping the rest as a tip. This method of requesting a tip was the first time I’ve experienced in my 20 years living in Europe, where a waiter decided for us how much to leave as a tip. Both situations involved the same waiter. (Asian man with black haire, not tall)His actions made my experience at the restaurant feel uncomfortable. If he doesn’t take this feedback seriously and continues to treat Chinese customers this way, then no matter how good the food is, Chinese people will stop supporting this restaurant. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

All I can say is that as a Chinese I am very disappointed. Why are we from the same country, but your employees are more patient and friendly with German customers than with Chinese ones? I grew up in Hong Kong and I have to say that the dishes were just average - rather salty and the portions were quite small. We paid 100 euros for just a few dishes. Next time we won't come back.

There were four of us at lunch. Everyone enjoyed the food very much.

We were there on a Monday at lunchtime and ordered from the lunch menu. The food was tasty, but didn't stand out from other Asian restaurants for us. The ambience was dignified and pleasant. Unfortunately, the service wasn't that convincing; you barely had time to finish the order and the plates were served very ruthlessly. It's just nicer. The service didn't match the ambience. The price/performance was okay.

I would prefer not to give this a star at all. We weren't properly welcomed at the entrance - the gentleman at the bar was very unfriendly. The soup was simply water with flavor enhancers and chili powder. The rest of the food was tasteless and carelessly prepared. The portions were small, but the prices were adjusted (too high). All in all, I can recommend at least 20 better snacks that taste much better than this “restaurant”. That's why I definitely can't recommend it! Rarely have we had such bad Asian food!

Short version: Unfriendly staff and incapable of criticism. Among other things, we ordered curry and it was way too spicy (I've never had any problems with the spiciness of curry in other restaurants). When I told the staff this, the only reaction they gave was that they were always so harsh without checking to see whether a mistake had happened. I asked for another dish, which was also delicious, but in the end I was charged for both dishes, even though I pointed out the mistake after two bites. This is an absolute no go.

I made reservations for four people for our Christmas party several weeks ago. We were assigned a spot in front of the kitchen and were exposed to the loud hustle and bustle of the kitchen. When I asked to get another seat for the Christmas party, I was offered to choose another restaurant in an unbearably arrogant manner. We had no choice but to escape the loud hustle and bustle of the kitchen and unfortunately move the Christmas party to the neighboring restaurant “Al Dar” at short notice. I can't rate the food, but I can rate the view of the noisy kitchen.

The duck noodles are delicious, the broth is light and the duck is not too fatty. Char siu dumplings have a fragrant crust with a milky smell and a soft, moist filling, but the flavor doesn't stand out. The accompanying spices are also delicious. I will never go to this restaurant again. I ordered stir-fried kale, and at the end of the meal I discovered that there was a long wire inside for wiping the pan. After calling the waiter, he took the wire away. We mentioned this when we were paying, and he said it wouldn't kill anyone. He asked us what we wanted to do without even apologising, which was an extremely bad attitude. I said eating wire is your problem, not ours, right? I heard so many good things and really wanted to go there. However, I have to say that I have never had such bad Chinese food. The duck was gristly and hard. Hard to chew. The food had hardly any taste. Tried once, but for the last time.

I've known the restaurant since I was 15 years old... unfortunately the owner William still doesn't know me or can't really place me among the many Lis...😅 ...unfortunately the friendliness of this restaurant, especially on the phone, has dropped a lot, but the food still tastes very good. Today (03/13/24) I wanted to reserve a table for Friday (03/15/24) for two people at 1:30 p.m. The nice gentleman told me on the phone that he wouldn't have a table available for 1.5 hours and that we should come over like that. Everything at the front is always fully booked anyway. The last time I called, I had no luck at all and they simply hung up on me due to being overcrowded. If I weren't such a dim sum fan and if there were more restaurants like this in Hanover with authentic Cantonese cuisine, I would go somewhere else. A good restaurant should also maintain the tone... Ambience is okay, no particular highlight. We were 14 minutes late when the first comment came from service. You had to order drinks proactively, otherwise you would have left empty-handed. I ordered the number: 31 duck with pineapple, then the waiter... sweet and sour duck, I said no with pineapple, the waiter just said it was the same. I personally don't think so at all. My companion didn't like the main course at all, and the waiter was told that almost nothing was eaten, but it was still on the bill. Starters were good, as was the rice. The highlight was the baked bananas.

Wir sind aufgrund der guten Bewertungen dahin gegangen aber das ist völliger Quatsch. Für Ausländer die einen kräftigen Geschmack haben und es würziger haben wollen ja vielleicht. Aber für uns war es nichts nie wieder so salzig. Ich glaub das Salz dort ist umsonst. Wir konnten es gar nicht essen. Für 90€ zwei Personen viel zu teuer. Da gibt es bessere Imbisse wo man für diesen Preis super essen kann. Außerdem hatten wir eine Zeitbegrenzung! Würde es niemanden empfehlen

Leckerer Chinese, wir hatten unterschiedliche Gerichte die alle eine leicht andere Würzung hatten, was uns gut gefallen hat. Ebenfalls gibt es hier Dim Sum die auch sehr gut waren.

I have been wanting to come to this restaurant for some time after reading all the positive reviews, so I organized a small gathering to celebrate my birthday here when I came back to Hannover this time. The place is easy to reach, and the décor is very oriental, a middle-aged waiter who came to seat us in looked like we were a great burden to him. I know a lot of overseas Chinese restaurant are infamous for their service and lack of smile, but I can overlook it as long as the food lives up to its reputation. We kicked the evening off with a bottle of prosecco, but they didn’t even bother to put the bottle in a cooling bucket until I asked them twice. We ordered several dishes from their a la carte as well as from their dim sum menus. Most of the food tasted ok, nothing to write home about. The fish we ordered was the worst among all. The whole dinner cost 190 euros for 5 people and it was very average. Unless they improve their cooking skills and service style, I will not be coming back to this restaurant, and I don’t recommend it to anyone who wants some decent Chinese food. There have got to be a better option in and around Hannover.

扬州炒饭味道极其不错，可以说是我在德国吃过最惊艳的炒饭！炸凤尾虾比较普通，炸的比较好，但酱一般。但不推荐姜葱蟹，蟹不新鲜，肉不紧致大部分比较烂，并且并不入味。

Very authentic Cantonese cuisine. Every dish we ordered was truly delicious, prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. The staff were welcoming and friendly, even though we had to wait for about 20 minutes to get a big table for a group during a busy period. The wait was completely worth it, and we even noticed that lots of celebrities were dinning here including Jack Ma. I would definitely recommend those who want to explore authentic Chinese cuisine in Hannover to come here.

La nourriture est au top... mais le service est une calamité. Quand je suis arrivée et que j'ai annoncé 1 personne, on voyait bien qu'ils n'étaient pas enchantés. J'ai bien dû attendre 5 bonnes minutes debout au milieu de l'entrée jusqu'à ce qu'on m'installe. Pour un peu, on m'aurait jeté la carte tout comme ensuite le plat que j'avais commandé. Et un sourire serait probablement beaucoup trop cher.

Tolles asiatisches Restaurant mit chinesischer, kantonesischer, thailändischer Küche. Besonders dort: es schmeckt alles einfach „authentischer“ als anderswo. Große Bandbreite an Gerichten, auch Spezialitäten die man in Hannover sonst nicht anderswo bekommt. Sehr freundlicher Service. Einziger Wermutstropfen: Leider kann man nicht draußen sitzen.

Der Service war sehr nett und das Personal sprach sehr fließend Kantonesisch. Die Bestellung ging schnell und gab uns auch seine persönliche Empfehlungen ab. Update 2023-06-06 Wie immer alles lecker und frisch zubereitet. Update 2022-10-15 Nach diesen ganzen Corona Einschränkungen war es mal wieder nötig zu schmecken ob das Arc en Ciel noch immer so authentisch, lecker und frisch kocht. Auch jetzt ist die Location weiterhin ein Hotspot für Chinesen mit Heimweh nach traditioneller Küche. Als Tipp gebe ich dem geneigten Leser folgenden mit. Die deutsche Karte besteht aus einem beidseitigen DINA3 Druck wo nicht alles an Gerichten draufsteht. Also Nachfragen was es z.B. noch so an Menüs gibt. Man kann die Original Chinese Speisekarte lesen und sollte das tun oder man liest die Speisekarte von der Internetseite. Preise sind dort aber nicht aktuell! Bestellt wurde das Arc en Ciel Menü! Mein persönlicher Geheimtipp weil alles dabei ist was man gerne ißt. Das Essen kam schnell und heiß. Lecker, dezent gewürzt und frisch. Das Lokal ist leider nicht ganz Barrierefrei. D.h. für Rollstuhlfahrer überhaupt nicht geeignet. Mit Gehilfen dürfte es auch nicht schwer fallen die Toiletten im Kellergeschoss aufzusuchen. Vorgeschichte Es war ein Tipp eines chinesischen Mediziners, als wir uns über die chinesische Küche und deren Umgang mit Fetten/Ölen unterhalten hatten. Er selber, seines Zeichens über 80 Jahre jung, gehe sehr gerne hierher weil es eine authentische Küche ist, die auch Leckereien aus Hongkong 🇭🇰 zubereitet, die Dim Sum. Das sind gedämpfte Nudeltaschen mit unterschiedlichen diversen Füllungen. Ein Träumchen! I.d.R. werden verschiedene Dim Sum bestellt und reihum probiert. Das fördert den zwischenmenschlichen Kontakt. Wir haben den heutigen (und ersten) Abend das Arc en Ciel Menü für zwei Personen geordert (siehe Bild). Vorweg eine Wantan Suppe. Eine der beste Wantans die ich jemals gegessen habe. Fettaugen konnte man an einer Hand abzählen. Halt so wie die traditionelle chinesische Küche is(s)t. Egal was bestellt wurde, es war natürlich gebraten, gekocht, frittiert, gedämpft. So schmeckt das Essen wie in China 🇨🇳. Der Laden wurde den Abend regelrecht überrannt von Chinesen. Das lag daran das in Hannover eine Messe zu dem Zeitpunkt statt fand. Hat sich also bis China rum gesprochen wie gut das Essen hier ist. Ohne Reservierung läuft hier nichts. Hier gilt auch der Spruch, wo die "Einheimischen" essen gehen, muss es gut sein. Absolute Empfehlung! ☝🏻 So und nicht anders schmeckt die traditionelle chinesische Küche! Woher ich das weiß und so sicher bin? Ich war dort! Komme ich nun zu meiner Einschätzung. Über einen Daumen hoch würde ich mich freuen.

Tolles authentisches Kantonesisches Essen. Preise vollkommen in Ordnung. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Familiäre Atmosphäre Aufmerksamer Service und phänomenal leckeres Essen was jeden Cent wert ist. Kommen immer wieder sehr gerne zu William und seinem Team ❤️

Die Sauce war phänomenal gut gewürzt, scharf wie auf der Karte beschrieben. Das in feine Scheibchen geschnittene Rindfleisch wurde meiner Meinung nach mit sehr viel Fleischzartmacher behandelt, trotzdem waren Haut und Sehnen noch gut wahrnehmbar. Der Geschmack des Fleischs war auch nicht mehr typisch für Rindfleisch, hätte jedes andere rote Fleisch auch sein können. Die gebackene Banane zum Dessert hatte einen herrlich krossen Teigmantel und mundete bestens. Das gleiche gilt für die gebackenen Garnelen von der Vorspeisenkarte. Der Service ist ausgesprochen freundlich und flott

Wir sind hier mittlerweile Stammkunden. Ich bin beruflich recht viel in Asien unterwegs. Ich schließe mich den Bewertungen an, dass dies wirklich mit das originalste asiatische Essen ist, dass man in der Region bekommen kann. Eindeutiger Daumen nach oben. 👍🏼

Auch am frühen Montagabend ist das Lokal gut besucht. Der freundliche Service parkt mich zunächst in einer Ecke, findet aber 5 Minuten später einen schönen Tisch in dem zurückhaltend stilvoll eingerichteten Lokal. Ab 20 Uhr müssen bereits Gäste abgewiesen werden, eine Reservierung ist daher auch für Alleinreisende zu empfehlen. Wer die bereits auf der Vorderseite umfangreiche Karte (rein auf Deutsch, was beiden Seiten peinliche Aussprache-Experimente erspart) im Format A3 umdreht, entdeckt eine breite Palette an Dim Sum. Ich entscheide mich für "Gedämpfte Rippchen in schwarzer Bohnen Sauce", "Gedämpfte Hühnerfüße mit schwarzer Bohnen Sauce", sowie "Gedämpfte Krabbentasche mit Koriander". Ein genussvoller Abend nimmt seinen Lauf. Gesättigt bin ich längst, aber für "Bohnenrolle aus gemischtem Fleisch und Oystersauce" ist noch Platz. Die Füllung ist gut, die Austernsauce ist leider kaum wahrzunehmen. Ich bin Fan, aber definitiv kein Experte für chinesische Küche. Die Karte des Arc en Ciel erscheint mir jedoch deutlich variantenreicher und weniger an den deutschen Geschmack angepasst.

Es lohnt sich, hier zu essen. Exzellente Speisen, vielfältig und gut. Dim Sum erstklassig, aber auch Ente, Lamm und alles andere auch

Ein Traum. Von der Vielfalt der Vorspeisen, über die Zubereitung der Hauptspeisen, einfach ein Erlebnis. Die Qualität der verwendeten Produkte sucht seines Gleichen. Freundlicher Empfang und freundliche Bedienung. All unsere Fragen zur Speisekarte wurden geduldig beantwortet. Danke dafür. Wir waren zu fünft und kannten dieses Restaurant noch nicht. Aufgrund der durchweg positiven Bewertungen sind wir dort Essen gegangen. Das beste asiatische Essen, was jemals vor uns auf den Tellern lag, wirklich. Geht dort Essen und überzeugt Euch selbst.

Wir hatten anlässlich eines Geburtstags für mittags reserviert. Das Restaurant betritt man vorbei an einem mit Fischen völlig überbesetzten Aquarium. Das Essen war wenig schmackhaft und nur lauwarm. Stövchen oder Rechauds wurden nicht angeboten. Die Kellner verhielten sich deutlich gelangweilt. Der Gipfel war dann nach dem Verzehr mein erster Glutamatschock. Nicht empfehlenswert. Möglich, dass hier im Service und in der Darreichung ein Unterschied gemacht wird zwischen der Mittagskarte und der teureren Abendkarte, aber auch das ist nicht empfehlenswert.

Klein aber top.. der beste Chinese für die Sum in Hannover. Der Service ist freundlich und die Bilder an der Wand zeugen von prominenten Besuchen.

Das Arc En Ciel ist ein sehr gutes chinesisches Restaurant, welches sich meiner Meinung nach gerade in der Qualität des Fleisches und dem Service von vielen anderen, auch guten, Chinesen abhebt.

My family and I ate at this restaurant whilst visiting Hannover recently Menu was provided for us in English (thank you) and our waiter also spoke to us in English, which certainly helped! Menu is very varied indeed and all of our meals were absolutely delicious. Service was fast and very friendly and we were really made to feel welcome. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant on our next visit to Hannover.

Im vergangen Monat haben mein Mann und ich uns wiederholt entschieden die lange Strecke von Hamburg nach Hannover in Kauf zu nehmen, um unseren Lieblingsasiaten einen Besuch abzustatten. Die exklusiven Speisen, das ästhetische Ambiente und die äußerst gastfreundliche Bedienung sind jeden Aufwand wert! Wir sind beide Lebensmitteltester und haben explizit die asiatische Küche im europäischen Raum ordentlich inspiziert und können mit vollster Überzeugung sagen, dass Arc en ciel mit Abstand der wahrhaftigster Asiate ist! Ein süß- sauer Gericht schmeckt nicht wie bei allen anderen asiatischen Küchen hier, die sich den europäischen Geschmäckern in jeder Hinsicht angeglichen haben- Nein! Das Gericht schmeckt authentisch und ist reich an asiatischen Aroma- bzw. der unwiderstehlichen asiatischen Geschmacksnote! Unsere Erwartungen wurden jedesmal saldiert, gar jedesmal aufs neue übertroffen. Wir würden für das Restaurant -wohlverdient, unsere wärmste Empfehlung aussprechen! Einfach nur excellent!
