We rented the apartment above the restaurant last week. The apartment was very, very nice, of course we also ate in the Aquarium restaurant on the last day, ordering in advance is an advantage. From the starter to the dessert, we can only recommend this meal, everything is fresh, tastes great, and the service is very friendly. Conclusion. If you are on holiday on Helgoland and want to have a very good meal, the aquarium is the right place for you. Thank you again for everything.

Our food (crustini, steak, wolffish and creme brulee) was delicious and of excellent quality. Price-performance accordingly appropriate. The varied and lovingly designed range of drinks is also nice. Service and ambience were very good. A reservation seems to make sense! An unreserved recommendation from us.

Echt lecker 😋 Kein Wunder, dass man hier einen Tisch reservieren muss. An zwei Abenden sind wir zu zweit hier gewesen. Von vier Haupteingang waren alle sehr gut. Bei der Vorspeise war vor allem der Ziegenkäse richtig lecker. Ach so, und die Erbsencremesuppe.

Wir waren mit sechs Personen dort und waren alle vom Essen begeistert. Ebenso vom Ambiente und dem sehr freundlichen Service. Wir haben einen Tisch reserviert, da man mit so viel Personen nur schwer spontan einen Tisch bekommt. Der Tisch hatte eine gute Größe, sodass man problemlos sein Tellergericht und alles was dazugehört stellen könnte ohne großartig alles zurechtschieben musste.

Very tasty, great ambience and very attentive staff

The atmosphere was undoubtedly very warm and welcoming, but the majority of the staff seemed quite arrogant and gave very smug answers to questions about allergies. The dish was self-explanatory, but safety first when it came to health. A young lady working as a waitress behaved in an exemplary manner and we praise her for her professional behavior.

Wir haben bei traumhaften Wetter draußen gesessen und das Essen sehr genossen. Allein der Knieper als Probe war toll. Die Senfsauce zum frischen Fisch war ebenfalls hervorragend. Und dann noch der Service. 🤗

Nach Reservierung wurden wir sehr freundlich begrüßt und zum Tisch geführt. Das Steak war perfekt und der vorzügliche Portwein dazu ausgezeichnet. Das vegetarische Chili con Couscous war geschmacklich sehr delikat. Als Abschluss wurde uns von dem Service Heidelbeereis serviert. Wie gewünscht mit zwei Löffel . It's difficult to get a table without a reservation, but luckily we were able to get a seat outside. The starters were fantastic, the main courses were also very tasty and cooked to perfection. The service was very friendly, but sometimes it took a while, which was also due to the full restaurant.

We were here in July and had reserved a table (which is recommended). The food is very good, especially the starter with the baked goat cheese and honey was delicious. The restaurant offers a nice and cozy atmosphere.

I've been coming to Helgoland for a few days for a few years now. For me, a good dinner is part of a perfect day on vacation. A few years ago I got to know the Aquarium Restaurant and from then on I only went there to eat. Everything I've eaten there so far has been so delicious. The ox cheeks and the fish soup are among my favorite dishes. But the fish and steaks that I ate there were also so good and tasty. I have always found the service to be attentive, friendly and accommodating. That's why I can't understand at all the very hurtful and personal criticism from a family, which particularly refers to the supposedly arrogant blonde lady, because I also met this lady, both on the phone when making the reservation and then in the restaurant opposite me , as well as the other guests, have always found me to be very nice and friendly.

It used to be a pleasant place and you felt welcome. Today you are being xxed. You call on Tuesday because you want to book a table for the weekend. Unfortunately everything is fully booked. You would also take a table outside. Sorry, but we don't make reservations outside. On Saturday you arrive in time to possibly get a table and there is a sign “Reserved” on three tables outside. Thank you for nothing!

We had a small soup for lunch and then shared a small appetizer. Everything was extremely tasty and delicious. Great service rounded off our impression. Unfortunately, you can only get a table with a long-term advance reservation, which we thought was a shame. We weren't able to reserve a table in the evening... 3 days in advance.

I would like to expressly mention here that all the dishes were freshly prepared. We cannot in any way understand the concentrated criticism from a family in which a service employee is personally hurt and treated disrespectfully. Anyone who has ever worked with people should be able to recognize that the employees here are very committed and attentive and at some point perhaps at the end of their tether.

We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary there

We made reservations in March for our 20th wedding anniversary today, everything worked out and even the table was beautifully decorated. If we're on the island again we'd love to come back.

We recommend reserving a table as this good restaurant is very busy. Very friendly and attentive staff, very good food. It's definitely worth eating there. We felt very comfortable.

Stylish furnishings, good service and excellent food. The desserts (nougat parfait!) in particular are a highlight, but our steaks with various sauces and side dishes were also extremely tasty. Specialties such as Helgoland Knieper (as a starter) were also very well received by many guests. The price is a bit high, but worth every euro. You should definitely reserve a table, ideally several days in advance, as the opening times are typically short in Helgoland and the tables are obviously in demand.

We had a very nice experience at the Aquarium Restaurant. With a bit of luck we got a table for two without a reservation. In addition to a good selection of very good dishes, the restaurant offers the Helgoland specialty "Knieper" as a sample portion for laypeople. We enjoyed these as an appetizer. For the main course we had steak with fried potatoes, bacon beans and a champion sauce and pasta with porcini mushrooms and tender pork loin slices. There's only one thing left to say: it was a pure taste experience. The meat was exactly as desired and the pasta had such a great flavor that my wife is still raving about it days later. For dessert I had a cappuccino parfait, which was served with thickened and fresh berries. Here too I can only repeat myself when it comes to good taste. Everything was beautifully presented and the staff was extremely friendly and gave good advice without being intrusive. Overall it was a very nice atmosphere. We came spontaneously and left as enthusiastic guests. Well, that's what you always want to know: For the quality and service, I have to say that the price-performance ratio is very good, considering being on an island. Yes, it costs money, but it's definitely worth it. If you're hoping for a bargain, you should look for something else. We would definitely like to come back.

Bottomless impudence! Today we ate at the Aquarium restaurant on Heligoland. The food was very good. However, the deputy boss was hard to beat in terms of unfriendliness. We ordered the same menu four times in different variations. When serving, the blonde, unfriendly lady slammed the fish plates onto the table the wrong way and didn't even let us finish. Unfortunately, we no longer enjoyed the delicious food after such poor, disrespectful treatment. Before paying, the other guests at my table left because they could only get upset with this blonde, arrogant lady. So the restaurant is not recommended! Best regards, Dr. Tjaden P. S.: Hopefully the right boss will come back soon! That would also be better for the other nice staff at the restaurant!!!

Disrespectful service! Our visit to the Aquarium restaurant turned out to be an outrageous humiliation on the part of the manager's temporary deputy (blonde lady). Without paying any attention to our order, the food was rudely slammed onto our table. We have never experienced such terrible service. After this experience, every bite stuck in our throats. We have no choice but to question whether my migration background could have contributed to this humiliation...

One more star is still free! When my family and I had dinner at the Aquarium restaurant, everything seemed fine. But after our waitress (temporary chef, blonde-haired) slammed our dishes onto our table in an outrageous manner, didn't even pay attention to our specific explanations and requests and, despite all the unfriendliness, also swapped our dishes, the happiness was over. Such insolence is truly unparalleled. Normally I'm very understanding, but this belittling went too far for me!

A very good restaurant with a varied menu. But you should reserve early, as everywhere on Helgoland, if necessary from home, which is no problem at all, even by email.

Quite a nice restaurant. The food was really excellent. Panfish and fried sea bream were very tasty. The sauces in particular went well with the dishes. I can particularly recommend the starter with the gratinated sheep's cheese. That was really powerful.

We ate at the aquarium for the first time during our short vacation, equipped with vouchers that I had received as a "recommendation". Both times we left the restaurant very satisfied. We were completely impressed by the attentive, friendly and courteous service, the high-quality, delicious dishes prepared with sophistication and the extremely pleasant ambience. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable - we will definitely come back and would be happy to recommend it! The only one star deducted is the generally suitable ambience for the exhaust air that doesn't work so well - the clothes still know that they were in the restaurant the next morning. 😉 But they like to wrap it up there!

My wife and I stayed on Heligoland for 6 days. We ate there twice. The food was very tasty and the staff was very nice and friendly. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. I have known the changing Heligoland gastronomy for over 30 years. For several years now, the Aquarium Restaurant has been our first address on the island for good food. Cozy atmosphere, an excellent culinary selection of dishes, very courteous staff and two super nice “hosts” in Ela and Arne.

Are on Heligoland with friends for a long weekend. The aquarium was recommended to us by long-time travelers to Heligoland. What can I say: the recommendation was spot on. Excellent food, fast and friendly service. Perfect. We will definitely and happily come back. (Don't forget to reserve a table, as many people are obviously aware of the excellent service here...😉)

Das Ambiente ist schön, Personal ist kompetent. Ich hatte einen Krabbenteller, mit Rührei und Bratkartoffeln. Die Krabben waren gut, Rührei und Bratkartoffeln waren okay, geht aber besser.

Bestes Restaurant auf Helgoland. Leckeres Essen, schönes Ambiente und sehr nettes Team, besonders Gabi. Wir waren dort sehr oft essen. Hummer und Knieper werden auf Vorbestellung kredenzt. Beides sehr lecker.
