Quite cozy, but a little noisy. The food was excellent; we were very satisfied. The price/performance ratio was definitely right. A culinary delight. We'd be happy to come back.

Very friendly service. The three kitchen heroes are bustling about, serving excellent dishes. If you don't want to leave with your ears drooping, it's best to make a reservation.

One of the top restaurants on Heligoland, Mokkastuben: Excellent food, whether it's spaghetti or fried fish, is a must-visit. Reservations are recommended.

We had a Wiener schnitzel that was very poorly cooked; the breading was crumbly and somewhat soggy. The salad was good, the shrimp too, and the spaghetti with pesto was nothing special. The service wasn't exactly friendly, and the entire restaurant smelled of food. We were glad to leave.

The food is super delicious. The sauces for the fish and the schnitzel are ridiculously delicious. The dynamo mayo and the cucumber salad are incomparable.

Very good food and friendly service. If you want to eat Labskaus or good fish on Heligoland, this is the place to go.

Going out to eat during this time means you want to experience an "event." We're doing quite well and are looking forward to a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and tasty, perhaps even high-quality food. Antje from the Mocca-Stuben went out of her way and was friendly. The other employees were stressed and made all the guests feel it. The food was okay. But don't look for more.

Excellent food and very attentive staff!

We have rarely experienced such disrespectful and unprofessional treatment in a restaurant. Upon entering, we were ignored, spoken to unkindly, and treated as if we were a burden. The service was simply rude. We asked if we could have fried potatoes instead of croquettes – which was rudely refused, even though fried potatoes are perfectly normal on the menu. We were told we could only choose between croquettes or fries. When my father expressed his suspicion that this was odd, the waitress said something in a language other than German. We don't know what she said, but her tone was clearly derogatory. We felt completely unwelcome and eventually got up and left. This had nothing to do with hospitality – it was pure indifference.

We've enjoyed visiting this restaurant many times over the past few years – especially because of the cozy atmosphere and the excellent food. This time, we were even more disappointed. Unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the food as much as we used to. The Knieper portion, in particular, was significantly smaller, even though the price remained the same. Overall, we also had the impression that the service was no longer as attentive and warm as usual. It's a shame, because we've always been happy to recommend this restaurant. Maybe it was just a bad day, but compared to our previous visits, we simply didn't enjoy it as much this time.

On our first evening of vacation on Heligoland on June 18, 2025, we were really looking forward to a cozy evening with delicious food, good drinks, and friendly service, but unfortunately, we were bitterly disappointed! The food was tasty, but it was served lukewarm, and the mustard sauce had spread all over the plate. Our service was very hectic, unfriendly, and incompetent, and the overall atmosphere was rather tense, in our opinion. It's a shame, because in previous years we've always been completely thrilled!

I ate the best lobster of my life here. The Heligoland lobster is truly something special. The plaice and cod were also a taste experience. I recommend it to everyone! The staff was so friendly. Despite (or because of) its dated name, this is a real insider tip on the island! Honest, no-nonsense dishes, excellent quality, and robust, yet always friendly and, above all, competent service! We'll be back! (Make reservations early!)

An incredibly good fillet steak with a very good pepper sauce. Before that, a cream of asparagus soup that was delicious. The service from "Antje" was refreshingly tart and friendly. That's how I like it! Normal is fine, but this was not normal. This was truly fantastic. Thanks to the team at Mocca Stuben.

The Mocca was recommended by a photographer friend. My plaice was amazing, the service was excellent. I followed it with a lovely Helbing. I'd happily recommend it.

Highly recommended, so it's best to make a reservation in advance. My brother and I were there on a Saturday evening and received a friendly welcome and were quickly seated. The main courses, panfish and gourmet salad, were delicious and beautifully presented, as well as filling enough. The appetizer, bread, aioli, and olives were very fresh and tasty, but rather sparsely presented. The ambiance is tasteful and the noise level is pleasant. We'll be back on our next visit to Heligoland.

Very tasty and fresh food, everything went very quickly. Unfortunately the service is lacking. The menus were simply placed on the table without eye contact. Then we wanted a menu for a dessert, unfortunately no one came to order.

Fresh lobster, even without pre-ordering, good service, slightly sagging chairs, no cozy lighting. The staff is very friendly, patient and helpful.

In the evening the best place to go if you're hungry, big or small. Great ambience, nice staff and the best seasonal cuisine. Tip: Shrimp pan, gourmet plaice and of course the Helgoland lobster.

5min. Waited without being assigned a seat, and bye. Never here again. Very strong kitchen smells in the restaurant.

New Year's Eve on Heligoland is great, celebrating in the Mocca Stuben makes the whole thing perfect! We had a superbly prepared menu in which our individual wishes were professionally addressed. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great. A very nice gesture was that the “magicians” from the kitchen also came to us and toasted with us. In summary, I can say that it was a successful evening with a fair price-performance ratio. Thank you for that!!

Food was great, and the food was served at pleasant intervals! However, the waiters lacked some coordination. Even what was not ordered was served! You can still work on it a bit! Reservations recommended!!

I would like to share our experience at Mocca Stuben with you. We recently went to the restaurant for dinner with a large group. It was the second time for us because we had already eaten here last year. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed on this visit. We had a reservation in the evening and were guaranteed a time slot of 2 hours. We arrived about 15 minutes early and got our table straight away. Unfortunately, it took a very long time until we received the menu and drinks menu and were then able to order drinks and food. We finally had the food 1.5 hours later and were able to eat. After a quarter of an hour, while we were still eating, we were told to hurry up because the table would be reserved again. We have all fallen away from the faith! We pay a lot of money for the food even though 2 orders were wrong and we didn't want to wait any longer and it wasn't our fault that it took so long until we could order drinks and food. Like last year, we wanted a dessert, coffee and digestif after the main course... but the waitress just reacted annoyed and answered rudely. We were served and paid. The tip was accordingly reduced and she was then offended. I myself have worked as a chef de rang in a renowned restaurant and I would never have expected something like that here in this restaurant. But nowadays it is difficult to find and keep good staff. But with so many guests coming and going, you can afford to treat guests like that. Unfortunately it will be the last visit.

Very courteous service, excellent cuisine.

Reservation from home didn't work. We were very satisfied before the renovation (hotel). Only got a dinner reservation for 8 p.m. After 10 minutes we were informed that the kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m. So we didn't have a pleasant evening there. At 8:50 p.m. we were urged to pay extra because it closed at 9 p.m.

We were served perfectly and extremely friendly in a beautiful atmosphere. Antje is the very best! The food came quickly and the explanations about how to deal with Knieper were very nice!

We went there spontaneously for dinner and got a table outside straight away. Then we had to wait quite a long time for the menu, until we could order it was pretty quick. We waited a long time for our food, which isn't so bad if it's communicated correctly, and when we asked we only got a stroppy answer. Afterwards it turned out that we had probably been forgotten and the order was taken again. After that everything went pretty quickly and the food was very tasty.

It's best to reserve in advance, we were able to spontaneously get a seat at the counter. The food was very tasty, the fish dishes were cooked to perfection and the cordon bleu was also very juicy. The service was quick and friendly.

We went here for dinner with a group. The food was great. The only deduction: Because we were there about 5 minutes early, we were sent out again and had to wait 15 minutes for our table. It's not that bad, but I would have liked to have something to drink while I waited. But that wasn't offered. But price performance is top.

Highly recommend Wiener Schnitzel. On the second day I had the rump steak Land & Meer. This seemed almost raw at first. When asked, the steak was then seared medium. Nice service, but a bit overwhelmed by the many guests. We waited about 30 minutes for the card. After that, however, everything happened very quickly.

Great quality combined with great service! Simply fantastic!!! The garlic soup is particularly recommended (dare - it's worth it).

Very fine food. We had fried cod with chanterelle risotto and beetroot foam. We got a table spontaneously.

Unfortunately we only discovered this place for a drink on our last evening. But we were really excited. Antje’s recommendations were great. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to eat here anymore. The dishes that were served at the other tables made an excellent impression. On our next visit to the island, this will be the first place we will visit.

We spontaneously went to the Mocca Stuben with 2 children and 2 adults without a reservation. With a bit of luck we got a table. The service was friendly and practiced, noticeable in this day and age that nothing is written down but everything is remembered. The food was also good. The prices are comparatively high, but justified by the quality and service. Good alternative especially if you don't want to eat fish. Clear recommendation

Very tasty and one of the best places to eat on Helgoland. The chocolate cake with a liquid center and the panfish are particularly delicious.

Since we liked it so much here on the first evening, we ate again on the second evening. The food is excellent, we had, among other things, asparagus with fish which tasted very good. The service is also excellent, attentive and friendly. So the waiter asked the following evening whether we wanted the same drinks as the previous evening. If you want to eat properly on Heligoland, but are also prepared to pay "a little" for it, this is the place for you.

My personal favorite on the island! Great, very tasty food, friendly staff. The Mocca offers a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere all around. It is definitely recommended to reserve a seat. I really enjoyed being there and will definitely come back.

My favorite restaurant on Heligoland, the cuisine is fantastic and (compared to Hamburg prices) even inexpensive, the service is great, Antje is an original :) The rump steak Cafe de Paris had great meat quality, was cooked medium rare, as requested, and was an attractive size. The sauce is to die for! And the whole thing for under 30! But don't forget to reserve in advance!

I have eaten so well in a very, very long time, or never before. Everything was to the point. People like to give a good tip. After a year we went to the Mocca Stuben again. We left the restaurant with such deep disappointment. We had reserved by email 6 months in advance and also received a positive message regarding the reservation at 7 p.m. The restaurant was full and several people were already standing in the aisle. When I pointed out the reservation, it was not found. After many excuses, we waited and waited. Other people we heard from who had made reservations much later all arrived earlier. Also a table for 2 people. I pointed out that I am diabetic and have already injected. When we finally sat down the menu was missing, then we got our food. But our drinks didn't come. My husband had already eaten the food when the drinks arrived and only after I had to ask for them at the counter. Our 1st wedding anniversary in the Mocca Stuben. 😓.....................Back to your answer....You should see the errors...and be glad that we don't change the process to that of We have reported packing the take-away food at the table next to it...Ask your waitress.

We hadn't booked a table and we were welcomed very nicely and were able to eat dinner even though it was very full. The food is a dream and the service is great, super nice. We'd love to come back.

At this restaurant I ordered a gourmet duck salad for dinner. This was made with fresh ingredients and presented very attractively and was wonderfully complemented with bread. In terms of taste, it was very well put together and coordinated. It tasted very good! The service was very friendly, quick and competent. I can highly recommend this restaurant and would be happy to visit it again myself.

As every time we are on Heligoland, a visit to the Mocca-Stuben is a must. Very nice welcome and service from Ms. Antje and the other girls. We had the garlic and onion soup and then the pan fish and the land and sea. Everything is absolutely delicious and the meat couldn't be fried any better. This was our second time on Heligoland and also our second time in the Moccastuben. A cozy hotel, with nice rooms. In the morning you can have a delicious breakfast and in the evening the food is fantastic here.
