I've known this grill for over 30 years. Super tasty gyros and an incredible meat sauce. I always enjoy coming here.

About 5 years ago it was simply the best Greek in the area, simply delicious and reliable. But at some point it got worse and worse and was only rarely edible. If you order gyros gratinated, the gyros somehow always taste so chewy and gristly. It used to be so good. Recently we ordered there again for a long time and were even more disappointed. My gyro gratinated wasn't good again. I ate about 1/10 of it and threw 12 euros out the window. But the absolute highlight was that the supplier simply wanted to leave us. We used to be regular customers and then the guy seriously wants to say that we gave him 5 euros too little, even though we knew exactly what we gave him. And then insist so cheekily until he realized that it wasn't...That was it for good! And you (Apostolos) don’t need to say anything about that. Thanks

I've been ordering here for over 10 years. But over the past 1-1.5 years it has been decreasing more and more. But what's going on now is no longer acceptable. I changed because you are hardly different from each other. There is no reason to remain a regular customer anymore. In terms of taste and price.

We always enjoyed eating and ordering there. Unfortunately, over time the food got a little worse - warmed up fries, greasy gyros, bad sauce etc. - but that didn't bother us too much, it can happen sometimes. But this evening, shortly after ordering delivery, we received a call that we couldn't answer immediately. So we tried to call back. Anyone who has ever called there knows that this is very, very difficult. So we thought after 25 minutes we would get in touch again if it was important. Nobody called again from the grill. After 1.5 hours I tried and finally had success after 20 minutes. No, they didn't prepare our food because we couldn't be reached!!! When I pointed out that we weren't quick enough, I was called out, I had finally given the number and they didn't have the time to call after us and they could do that now Preparing food takes time...It was so rude and unfriendly that we won't eat there anymore. Customer-friendly is different... Unfortunately I can't reply to the owner's answer, so I'll write it here: The fact that my words are being twisted here to justify themselves says it all...Again: I was on hold for 25 minutes and yes, then I hung up and I also wrote that we didn't really care about the "worse" food every now and then disturbed. But now, everything together, and then this incredible impudence on the phone and now this brazen answer... What else can you say...

We ordered food for around €65. Waiting time for delivery was ok. Food is really delicious. Unfortunately the service is not. Unfortunately, one French fry wasn't delivered enough, which we only noticed when the driver left. So I called the store (it was still on hold), the staff was very unfriendly. He confirmed that one french fry was under-delivered, but it won't be delivered for another hour. An hour even though we are eating “now”? I asked for immediate delivery. Answer: “You can pick it up yourself.” I pointed out that this was not possible and that I would like to have it delivered as soon as possible. Employee: “Yes, what kind of tips did you give?” What can I say. Customer friendliness is not a priority. And this isn't the first time this has happened. We only order there because it's delicious. But then probably not anymore. Of course the fries didn't come. Legally: Fraud by Apostolos. You can tell that some employees are on a high horse. A pity.

The gyros and especially the meat sauce have been known and very good beyond the borders of Gelsenkirchen for decades. Unfortunately, the generational change has not been good for the company (at least currently). The service is very bad. It rests on its good reputation and is very arrogant towards customers. Ordering online or by phone is not recommended. The crew often seems overwhelmed and the food delivered often does not correspond to the order. Unfortunately, the fries were always very soggy and not really edible. A pity. Unfortunately, the good traditional snack bar no longer lives up to its good reputation. Is this the new generation?

I had ordered pizza party platter 305 for 12 people, it was so delicious, all the guests were totally thrilled, I called the next day and thanked you for the delicious food, I have to say, I had already ordered there before, again and again 👍👍👍

How the rating comes about is a mystery to me, the food that was delivered to me was so oily and drowned in it, the entire box was soaked, disgusting, such a disappointment

Today we ordered a party platter for 15 people for our aunt. First of all, the food was very tasty as usual but the quantity was a joke. There were only 11 of us and not everyone was full even though we ordered for 15 people!!! There were 17 pieces of cevapcici (i.e. just 1 piece per person and 2 pieces in reserve) and a small handful of gyros with sauce for each person. A small salad, fries and Djuvec rice for the equivalent of €11.60 per person. It was very uncomfortable in front of the guests. We called there and there was no response. Unfortunately we won't be ordering again even though we enjoyed it.

For us the tastiest Greek in Gelsenkirchen. Even 10 years ago when I worked in Bulmke I often ate there. You can eat everything, and especially the pizza - better than almost any pizzeria. But I also love the homemade meat sauce, with the Cevapcici for example, it's a real treat.

Simply one of the best tastes I've ever experienced! When I think of Apostolos' pizza, my mouth immediately waters. The dough is perfectly crispy and the tomato sauce has great flavor. Simply a pleasure! I'm a big fan of fresh ingredients and Apostolo's Grill-Pizzeria pays particular attention to this. The topping is always fresh and the combination of flavors is to die for. The store also has a super cozy atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and you immediately feel welcome. This simply rounds off the experience perfectly. I can really recommend everyone to try Apostolos Grill-Pizzeria. If you're looking for a delicious pizza, you'll find it there. It's definitely worth it!

I ordered food on June 2nd, 2024 around 8:30 p.m. This was delivered quite promptly (approx. 30 minutes) later. I don't have to say anything about the food, except great! Only the delivery service left something to be desired. I was supposed to pay €16, gave him a 20 (I usually always give TG voluntarily). He took the money (the 20) and was on his way back downstairs. I asked him that I would still get the rest of the money, and he reluctantly gave it to me. For me it's not about the 4€, I'm about the principle. I didn't say anything about "It's fine" or "the rest is for you", and I think it's outrageous to simply assume that the rest of the money is also TG.

The food is always delicious! Sometimes it takes longer because there is a lot of rush. But there is a reason for that... Everything is still great! The only drawback are the steps in the entrance. But I don't have too many problems with it yet... Today I didn't have to wait long at all, great! The food was good as usual, but what I was most happy about was the price, which has barely increased!

Unfriendly employees, bring the wrong food and don't even see the mistake, food arrives cold, and then they demand that the wrong food be brought there and if they think it's not wrong you have to take the cold food back with you to eat . This is the level of the bottom drawer.

Communicating on the phone is very poor and you soon have to shout out your order. The delivery is good, the food could be a little hotter, but it also tastes very good, especially the onion sausage and sauce.

The food is really delicious and freshly prepared. Prices are also completely reasonable. We'd love to come back again and again. Parking there is a challenge. Even though they're always busy there, you never have to wait long for your food.

Been ordering food there for 20 years. The quality has decreased significantly. Recently ordered food online. Waiting time approx. 45 minutes according to confirmation. Called again after 90 minutes. After 12 minutes on hold they hung up. Called again and asked where the food was. It is on the way. After a total of 2.5 hours it arrived. It was cold. Driver stressed. When I politely declined because I didn't want to eat cold food, he mumbled something in his local language... then offered to order again. No thanks. You can achieve sales through quality or through quantity with dissatisfied customers. If the rush is too high, you should perhaps stop recording to maintain the quality or you will just lose customers. Otherwise, the meat sauce and cheese sauce were always a highlight. Nevertheless, things have slowed down considerably. Very unfortunate.

With a little desire you can achieve more

Haben jahrelang als Gruppe bei Apostolos bestellt. Die Qualität hat rapide abgenommen. Zuletzt waren wir sehr unzufrieden. Hähnchenfleisch roh, überbackenes kaum bis gar nicht überbacken. Es scheint dass man einfach schnell die Speisen zubereitet ohne wirklich zeit dafür investieren zu wollen. Sorry, rohes Hähnchenfleisch abzuliefern geht gar nicht. Sind eine Gruppe von mehr als 10 Personen die regelmäßig bestellen und alle sind sich einig, für das Geld kann man auch super woanders bestellen und bekommt Essen was durchgegart ist und nicht roh.

Leider hat die Qualität nachgelassen, Souvlaki nicht durchgebraten ,Penne überbacken der Käse viel zu hell. Pita Tasche das Fleisch zäh. Sorry was läuft da schief? Wir bestellen seid Jahren fürs Büro und leider wird es in den letzten Monaten immer schlechter. So kenne ich es eigentlich nicht und da müssen wir uns wohl einen anderen guten Grill suchen. Selbst wenn man anruft und Kritik äußert wird es nicht reflektiert. Schade früher immer Top.

Ich gehe hier schon seit meinen 6 Lebensjahr essen und möchte es auch nicht missen. Ganz selten das mal was nicht so toll war. Ansonsten kann ich nur sagen....einer der besten griechischen pommesbuden

Der mit Abstand beste Laden der Stadt. Von Außen ein sehr unscheinbarer Laden, aber drinnen geht es ordentlich ab. Bestimmt 20 Leute tummeln sich hinter Theke und in der Küche. Bestellungen fliegen von links nach rechts und trotzdem ist es sehr organisiert. Am Wochenende teilweise über eine Stunde Wartezeit, daher empfehle ich Selbstabholung.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal dort Essen. Ein Griechischer Imbiss, aber total lecker. Alles frisch zubereitet, kann ich nicht beschreiben, muss man gegessen haben. Da geh ich demnächst wieder hin, kann ich nur empfehlen. Wir waren heute zum zweiten mal dort Essen, war auch wieder total begeistert, alles frisch zubereitet, schnell, lecker u freundlich. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Wir haben gestern Abend mal wieder telefonisch Essen bestellt. Sind sofort durchgekommen, eine freundliche Stimme hat unsere Bestellung aufgenommen u es wurde pünktlich, heiß u komplett geliefert. 2 mal Chef Teller, super lecker u reichlich. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Macht weiter so. Deshalb kann ich diese anderen Negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen!!

Gyros mit Fleischsosse. Der Hammer und das seit Jahren

Online 60 Minuten vor Abholung bestellt, pünktlich vor Ort gewesen um abzuholen, nach 30 Minuten warten wurde dann 1,5 Stunden nach Bestellung mit dem Zubereiten begonnen. Kein Anruf bekommen. Also 60 Minuten zu Hause gewartet, dann noch mal 45 Minuten vor Ort. Sehr schade. Davor die Bestellung noch schlimmer. Online bestellt. Bestätigungsmail erhalten. Nach 2 Stunden Essen noch nicht da. Angerufen und herausgefunden, dass der Betrieb Urlaub hat.

Ein Gyros so wie ich ihn mag. Alles top. Die Pizza Thunfisch Brötchen sind auch super.

Zügiger Lieferservice, 1 Stunde Wartezeit wurde telefonisch angegeben und tatsächlich in 25 Minuten da. Freundliche Mitarbeiterin am Telefon und auch in den Geschäftsräumen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und keine Mini Portionen

Habe mir heute essen liefern lassen ,und wie immer sehr gut, habe für 5 Leuten bestellt und jeder sagte top top top ,es ist sehr lecker weiter so ,hole immer wieder!

Super Essen. Die leckerste Fleischsoße im ganzen Umkreis NRW ( und ich habe schon einige probiert). Nette Bedienungen und schneller Service.

Wir hatten seit vielen vielen Jahren bei Apostolos gegessen(Bestellt oder vor Ort), sind dann aber aus Gelsenkirchen weggezogen und heute wieder zu Besuch gewesen. Das Gyrosfleisch hat sich qualitativ extrem verschlechtert. Vor ca 2 Jahren war dies noch mager und kaum fettdurchzogen. Mittlerweile ist dort der Fettanteil höher als der Fleischanteil. Sehr schade, da Apostolos wirklich einer der Adressen war, welcher mit Abstand das beste Gyros hatte. (Habe in meiner Ausbildungszeit vor ca 8 Jahren, 1 x die Woche dort gegessen) Die Currywurst ist nach wie vor top. An der falschen Stelle gespart… Werden wir für Gyros nicht mehr aufsuchen😢

Ich muss agen ich bin über die Preiserhöhung nach den Sommerferien schockiert. Im Schnitt wurde alles um 15 - 20 % teurer. Das ist doppelt so hoch wie die Inflation. Dazu gibt es ein Getränk erst ab 50 EUR dazu (bisher 35 EUR). D.h. früher reichten 4 Personen, heute dürften es eher sechs sein. Vier leute zahlen nun nicht nur 15-20 % mehr, sondern kriegen auch kein Getränk mehr. Die 3 EUR dafür steckt sich der Laden zusätzlich ein. Das Essen selber ist gut, aber die Portionen sind kleiner geworden, bzw. beim überbackenen Gyros ist der Fleischanteil geringer, dafür mehr Käse oben drauf.

Essen absolut Top ! Ambiente ist ausbaufähig.

Wir haben für unsere Geburtstagsfeier dort Essen bestellt,und waren persönlich vor Ort .Um 11:30 Uhr war dort schon reichlich Betrieb.Der Imbiss sieht sehr gepflegt aus,und das Personal ist sehr freundlich.Wir wurden dort von einer sehr netten jungen Frau bedient und beraten.Das Essen kam pünktlich wie besprochen,war heiß,und die Kreta-Platte für 6 Personen war reichlich und sehr lecker.Auch der Salat,der Reis,die Pommes sowie das Salatdressing und vor allem der Tzatziki waren mega lecker.Wir empfehlen den Apostolos- Grill weiter,und haben mit Sicherheit nicht das letzte mal dort bestellt .Danke nochmal für den tollen Service und das leckere Essen.

Immer gerne wieder... Preise sehr angemessen uns das essen ist immer sehr gut...

Gehen jetzt seid über einem Jahr wöchentlich dort essen. Es gibt bisher nichts was wir uns bestellt haben was nicht ausgezeichnet war. Zum lieferservice kann ich leider nichts sagen. Preise sind nicht die günstigsten, aber für mich aufgrund der Qualität das Geld auf jeden fall wert.

Wenn man sich einfach mal diese Bewertungen hier durchliest dann wird man schnell feststellen, dass diese Beschwerden auf ganz hohem Niveau sind. Einfach quatsch....jetzt zu meiner Bewertung: Das Essen, die Hygiene, und auch der Service sind wirklich Top. Niemals schlecht gelaunt, machen mit Spaß und Motivation ihren Job. Das Essen wird wirklich mit Liebe zubereitet und es tut das was es tun muss: Schmecken. Auch die Preise durch die Inflation und anderen derzeitigen Faktoren sind nicht ins unermessliche Geschossen, sondern in einem wirklich guten Rahmen geblieben. Das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis ist angebracht und man kann sich nicht beschweren. LG und guten Hunger

Normalerweise war ich mit Apostolos immer super zufrieden. Heute hat sich das aber geändert. Habe das Essen um ca 16 Uhr für 19:15 bestellt (also ca 3!! Stunden im Voraus). Mir kann also keiner verkaufen, dass zu viel zu tun war. Als das Essen dann da war, war es kalt. Nichtmal mehr lauwarm. Fleisch komplett kalt, Pommes komplett kalt und wabbelig (kann schonmal passieren, wenn man sich Pommes bestellt). Als ich dann angerufen habe, wurde mir gesagt, dass es nicht sein könnte, dass das Essen kalt sei, da das Küchenteam die Bestellung rechtzeitig zubereitet hat. Kann ja gut sein aber dann stand es mit Sicherheit noch 30 Minuten in der Küche bevor es geliefert worden ist. Ich wurde am Telefon für blöd verkauft und es kam nichtmals ein einziges entgegenkommen sondern es wurd immer weiter darauf beharrt, dass das Küchenteam das Essen pünktlich zubereitet hätte. Naja, wie dem auch sei. Dieser Schuppen ist total überbewertet und sieht mich in der nächsten Zeit nicht mehr so schnell wieder. Schade um das Geld.

Jahrelang waren wir Kunde bei "Apostolos", dass die griechische Institution in GE darstellte. Leider hat seit einiger Zeit die Qualität dermaßen abgenommen, dass wir hier nichts mehr bestellen werden. Trockenes, kaum gewürztes Fleisch, Gummipommes ohne Salz, selbst das Tsatsiki schmeckt nach nix mehr. Dazu die immer länger werden Lieferzeiten von bis zu 90 Minuten. Uns reicht´s! Fazit: Kann mich der Meinung von Hans D nur anschließen. Genügend Alternativen in der Umgebung sind besser (geworden).

Habe nun zum zweiten Mal ein muffiges Schnitzel gehabt. Daher kann ich leider nicht gut bewerten. Aber mal der Reihe nach: Der Imbiss liegt in einem der übelsten Ghettos im Ruhrgebiet, schön ist (wo)anders. Aber in der Regel holt man ja Essen und nimmt es mit. Sitzen kann man dort auch, ist aber eher weniger gemütlich. Schnellimbiss halt. Die Bedienung war immer nett und zuvorkommend - deutlicher Pluspunkt. Beim diesmaligen Essen war der Salat gut und frisch. Pommes und Zigeunersauce schmecken durchaus gut. Von einem der letzten Male die Bemerkung: Der Gyros ist fettig und fade, den kann ich leider nicht empfehlen. Heute wie erwähnt habe ich zum zweiten Mal ein (Zigeuner)Schnitzel gehabt, dass muffig war und das ich echt nicht zuende essen konnte. Mangelhaft! Auch ordentliche Beilagen drumherum können das nicht mehr herausreißen. Werde hier nicht mehr hingehen.
