An excellent restaurant, the entire staff was super nice, great service and the food was also very good

Drinks and food were overpriced. For the hefty price, you at least got small portions... only the salt was extremely generous... The salt could then be washed down with ouzo diluted with water... Simply disappointing.

That's really a shame... We were here years ago and everything was great… And now… Small portions, service really bad and unfriendly. We're talking about a Greek here, but there's no tzatziki to eat and the ouzo tastes like it's been adulterated with water. The prices are outrageous. Whether for food or drinks. Apparently they don't need it anymore...

16€ for a children's portion of gyros. Completely salt the gyro meat. 6€ for a 0.5L cola It's cheaper at Schalke. Services super unfriendly. Were kicked out of the bowling alley 15 minutes before closing time. I wouldn't recommend any dish, 11 out of 11 people were angry and disappointed. And in general I would rather go to any other Greek restaurant in Gelsenkirchen than to Zorba's.

Unfriendly service. Food very bad and completely oversalted (€16.50 for a very small portion of gyros without tzatziki, without onions, 10 fries) €6 for a Pepsi also very cheeky. Debit the full price for the bowling alley but cancel 20 minutes beforehand…. No free ouzo. And paid ouzo was put with water. Never had such a bad experience...

We were there on December 25th, 2024. We were served very unfriendly and rude by an employee, special requests such as exchanging side dishes (our grandchildren were there) would not be possible, everything was as on the menu, no changes, that was the message. (However, only one employee was so unfriendly!) Then there was a saying "without us, 1000 people would be without food today". We remained friendly even though we felt different. I can only describe the restaurant itself as a "dirty shop", dirty carpet with leftover food, carelessly set tables, yellowed ceilings and walls, from the days when smoking was allowed in the restaurant. The toilets were extremely unclean, I don't want to see the kitchen. The food was convenience food and not freshly prepared. The salad couldn't be found under all the sauce. After the visit, both my wife, my mother-in-law and I had severe stomach problems, which plagued us throughout the night. Last but not least, the whole crap was unreasonably expensive.

Employees in a bad mood. Food underground. Sent home early. Only dying is more expensive!

Today, on Christmas Day, I was invited to eat with my family and after an hour I was warned that I should leave the restaurant by 10 minutes. I've never experienced anything like that before.

The service is really good, even though the four of us were served by 4 different service staff. Nevertheless, everyone knew what they were doing and no questions arose. The food was excellent! The quality of the meat was really great and cooked to perfection. Slight smoke aroma from the grill. The only thing that bothered me was the cassis sauce. This was really sweet and I would have imagined/wanted a dark sauce with a light cassis flavor. I'd love to come back!

We had an appointment at 5 p.m., it was very cold there...I think the heating was only turned on shortly beforehand. The food was okay, as was the service...

Finding a parking space first on site is a disaster. It's better to look for a parking space outside rather than in front of the restaurant. My companion and I found the food very tasty and the portions are generous and the selection is sufficient. I find the price-performance ratio for the food to be okay, except for the drinks, which I found a bit too expensive. The service is well maintained and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy, typical of a Greek restaurant, and also: clean.

Were there with 5 people. The food was perfectly fine and recommended, even if the portions were quite manageable for a Greek. The service, however, could not be surpassed in terms of unfriendliness. We will not visit again due to the service.

To carry out the stars... Food (5): very tasty without question Service(1): under all guns! The waiter is obsessive about serving drinks with the maxim not to smile. Ambiance(2): normal Conclusion: Greek evening at home is definitely better.

Simply my favorite Greek restaurant!

The restaurant was recommended to us, so we went there for a cozy evening with friends. The staff were very friendly and the drinks came quickly. The food we ordered was also served quite quickly. However, the quality was very poor. I had a plate of beef, lamb and pork tenderloin. Everything was fried to death on the grill. It was neither medium nor did it have the consistency of fillet. The beef fillet was so flat that it couldn't be tasted at all, as was the lamb fillet. The pork tenderloin was also very flat and tasted burnt. My husband had the Poseidon plate. The fish wasn't tasty either. Our friends have also eaten much better. For us it was the first and last visit.

So I was thrilled! Friendly welcome, great atmosphere, the food was delicious and the waitresses were more than friendly! I can only recommend it!

...we are used to better things from our experiences with Greek cuisine... It's okay - apart from that certain attitude that is perhaps intended to be funny but sounds more like overwork, which comes across from some of the staff... it's good that the people here have a sense of humor and like to celebrate when they treat themselves to something !

Service tip top. Were received very warmly. We'd love to come back. The quality of the food was very good. And it tasted good. One point deducted because the hunter's sauce has a more sweet/sour taste instead of being made with bacon. But that's a matter of personal taste.

The very best, cleanest, friendliest and most beautiful restaurant in all of Gelsenkirchen! Anyone who hasn't eaten there is to be regretted. I have been a loyal guest of this unique restaurant for 23 years, which is always fully booked and you should definitely book a table in advance. Guests come from Frankfurt, Krefeld and Düsseldorf who are completely convinced by Zorba. So not just Gelsenkirchen residents! I hope that they will continue to run this incredibly great restaurant for a long time, otherwise we won't know where we should celebrate our birthdays in the future, because this unique restaurant also has a bowling alley! We love Zorbas and can only warmly recommend it!!! Testing is above studying ;-)

The meat could be a bit juicier. But otherwise it's like coming home to the family. Totally great. I will gladly come again.

Went there on May 1st without a reservation, luckily got a table in the beer garden, very nice atmosphere. The food was very tasty and the waiters were very friendly. This was definitely not our last visit!

Has decreased significantly and is no longer comparable to previous times. They won't see me there anymore. There are Greek joints where they know how to make mataxa sauce. Also very salty or oversalted. It's a shame, but it was the last visit there for me. I'm just wondering why the quality has deteriorated so much?

I actually have nothing to complain about, but when you're asked to leave the location shortly after 10 p.m. with a company of about 25 people, I'm at a loss for words. A waiter came and asked if anyone else would like something to drink - it would then be the last round. There's no more polite way to throw someone out. We ourselves were invited but we also celebrated birthdays there. Would we do it again...

Visited for the first time. Lots of places. Good service team. A bit dark where we sat. Ouzo beforehand and another Ozuo after the meal. Very few parking spaces.

We spent a bowling evening here. Beforehand, we had a delicious meal and then bowled.

Table for 8 people with reservation at 7 p.m. At around 8:30 p.m. we were very rudely informed that it would be closing in half an hour (actually 10:30 p.m.?). There was no more dessert and/or coffee or something similar, the coffee machine was already out. A short time later the bill arrived without being asked, after the remaining glasses had been cheekily cleared away. They definitely won't see us again.

Wir sind - leider nun waren- seit über 20 Jahren dort zu Gast. Haben auch während Corona dort Essen bestellt. Wir hatten die Hoffnung mit dem Sohn und nach Corona wird es wieder besser. Aber nun das Fazit nach 2 Jahren immer mal wieder zum Testen: Ambiente: schmuddelig, altbacken seit min. 20 Jahren nicht renoviert. Am Teppich bleibt man tatsächlich kleben. Essen: Portionen mittlerweile sichtbar kleiner, was nicht schlimm wäre…. Leider aber geschmacklich auch nicht gut. Salat in Soße ertränkt. Vorspeisen für die Qualität zu teuer. Über das Baguette reden wir besser gar nicht. Da gibt es griechische Imbisse, die besser sind! Service: bei Stammkunden zu „übergriffig“ in der Wortwahl und das jammern wie anstrengend ihr Job ist, fehl am Platze. Wir arbeiten alle für unser Geld .. Dies noch als Anmerkung: man schmeckt, wenn der Ouzo „verlängert“ ist und viel gratis Schnaps der teilweise zu aufdringlich angeboten wird, macht das Essen nicht besser. Es ist sehr schade… aber vielleicht wird die Kritik auch als Anregung verstanden.

Very tasty, just a bit small portions.

The entire restaurant is now getting old. Still the same facility and the same employees. That doesn't have to mean a bad thing, but why, given the number of newer restaurants, this one is always full is unbelievable. The food was definitely not nearly as good as in the past. The quantities have decreased and the price has increased significantly. To charge over 3 euros for 2 mini bags of mayo alone is bordering on cheeky. But luckily everyone can decide for themselves whether and where they go out to eat. We won't visit Zorbas again, that's for sure.

Wir kommen seit Jahren in unregelmäßigen Abständen ins Restaurant Sorbas. Das Essen war immer lecker und frisch zubereitet. Das gesamte Team ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat gelegentlich einen lockeren Spruch auf den Lippen. Vor dem Essen und als Absacker gibts ein Schnäpschen aufs Haus. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Es hat mir früher ( vor 3 Jahren) immer sehr gut gefallen. Als wir jetzt zum Weihnachtsessen mit den Kollegen dort waren, fand ich es nicht so toll. Mir hat diesmal das Essen nicht so gut geschmeckt. Und ich hatte mir ein Getränk nachbestellt. Es ist nicht gekommen. Ich vermute, das es zu voll war, und das Personal warscheinlich überlastet war. Sonst war ich dort immer sehr zufrieden.

Der Service war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist zwar nicht schlecht aber eher nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Essen war lecker und auch sehr preiswert. Wir hatten uns für ein Menü Angebot entschieden das lecker und sehr günstig war.

Immer wieder zufrieden mit Personal und Essen. Gehe schon seit Jahrzehnten hin und wurde noch nie enttäuscht. Auch jeden anderen, den ich mitnahm, war sehr zufrieden.

Geschmackvoll zubereitete Akropolis - Platte ; Schweinefilet, Lammkotelett, Souflaki, Gyros, dazu Reis, Pommes und Bauernsalat mit leckerer Vorspeise und Nachtisch ; Eis mit heißen Kirschen verzehrt.

Waren mit 9 Personen zum Familienessen. Krabbencoktail mit gefrierbrannten Krabben serviert. 3x den Kellner angesprochen und keine Kulanz gegeben. Essen beim Servieren vertauscht. Länger auf Getränke gewartet. Schweinemedaillons So dünn wie Schnitzel und 10 cm Durchmesser. Noch nie so gesehen und gegessen! Ansonsten war es ok. Wir werden nicht mehr dorthin gehen. Schade.....

Ordentlicher Griechen mit akzeptablen Preisen. Allerdings wurde das Gyros ohne Tzaziki gereicht. Es war auch ebenso wie die Pommes etwas zu salzig

Das Essen ist überteuert und nicht besonders gut. das Personal ist teilweise unverschämt . Nicht noch einmal.

Meine Bewertung ist als ein Feedback gedacht. Ouso war Wasserring. Bifteki klein und mit viel Salz. Wir lieben griechisches essen, hier wünsche ich Besserung und dadurch viele Gäste.

Wir waren am Samstag mit Freunden hier zum Essen. Bedienung war schnell und freundlich. Das Essen ausgezeichnet!

Wir waren zum ersten Mal seit Corona wieder dort. Service und Essen sind so gut wie früher. Daumen hoch! Nachtrag vom 12.03.2022: Gestern waren wir nach mehreren Monaten coronabedingter Pause wieder dort. Wir sind wiedererkannt und freundlich begrüßt worden, was uns sehr gefreut hat. Im Übigen gilt das oben Geschriebene uneingeschränkt fort.

Das Essen war früher mal interessant, griechisch, jugoslawisch, serbisch ... Nicht lecker, Abfüllstation. Besser nicht hingehen. Service nonchalant.

Tolles Restaurant mit Biergarten. Die Karte hat alles was schmeckt. Eine Kinderkarte gibt es auch. Die Portionen waren reichlich und alles war sehr lecker. Vorab und nach dem Essen gab es einen Gratis Ouzo, toll! Der Service war sehr nett, es hat nie an etwas gefehlt. Die Preise gehen auch in Ordnung. Alles war super!!!
