I've been coming here for a very long time. The food is extremely good and always freshly prepared. The menu is very diverse and makes you want to try new things. The service is consistently excellent! The atmosphere is rustic and charming; I really like it.

It was simply wonderful again. The service was consistently excellent (no long waits, and they asked if we needed anything else when our glass was almost empty). The food is delicious, and you can taste that it's homemade. This time we tried the new Fantasy Burrata (highly recommended).

Update 2: New tenant - it's all over. This has nothing to do with the old local place. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste good anymore. Recipes have changed completely. Cheap ready-made sauces, hard pizza. Very unsympathetic staff. I mean the young ladies. Very high prices for inferior quality and poor service. That's it for me. Update: After a few years, I unfortunately have to correct my previous rating (5 stars). The quality of the food has declined significantly while the prices have risen. Some pizzas cost over €3 more than before. The staff seem listless and disinterested. The answer to the question whether the mozzarella is made from raw milk was: "I have no idea!" How about a quick visit to the kitchen to find out? They continue to quote incorrect prices over the phone. When it comes to paying, they just shrug their shoulders. They just made a mistake. No apology? Not good manners! The way they treat customers has deteriorated. I've experienced such awful things the last three times. Therefore, I'm ending my long-standing loyalty (my first visit was about 20 years ago). Perhaps the shop will see me again if they can find dedicated staff. *** Friendly service, good food, fair prices. I love the Fantasy pizzas. Delicious garlic sauce on crisp salad. The atmosphere is cozy, even if the staff constantly has to zip back and forth between tables. I feel at home there. It's a shame I'm rarely in Eberstadt these days, but when I am, Antik is my first stop. A big LIKE from me.

We've been coming to Antik Lokales for years and love it. The food, atmosphere, and service are excellent.

Since the new owners took over, the restaurant is no longer what it used to be. Another note: they often place their trash cans so carelessly in the middle of the sidewalk that pedestrians, especially those with strollers, have to step out onto the street.

I'm kinda torn about this place ... we have been here twice. The first time was fantastic: Great pizza, great service, quaint location, no complaints at all. The second time, the service was pretty bad, the pizza came after a long wait & burnt, so far from the first experience. The portions & prices are ok, so we'll probably be back to see which way it goes ...

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. The pizza dough was almost raw on one side and rather mediocre on the other. The toppings were okay. Unfortunately, it was recorded as just okay. And a little more cleaning wouldn't hurt.

The menu is anything but ordinary, and of course, everything tastes absolutely delicious 😍. Plus, the entire team is incredibly friendly. You always feel very welcome! We love coming here often 👍🏼.

Everything is new…everything is great!

Unfortunately, it gets worse with every visit. Some pizzas are burnt, others are completely greasy and soggy. And then the service staff. They barely come to the table and forget half of it. Unfortunately, arithmetic isn't really one of the staff's strengths. But what's not acceptable at all is that you order a non-alcoholic shandy and get a regular one with alcohol. That can be fatal for some people 👎🏼 The benches are incredibly uncomfortable.

Labyrinthine wooden interior of endless nooks and crannies. Nice little beer garden hidden out back and toilets are modern. Clientele a good mix of ages and there are cozy two-person tables and larger ones for groups. Despite its pub-like feel, it empties out quite early, and you kind of get moved out by staff! Personnel are all young and not necessarily blessed with customer service skills; you may order some digestifs and suddenly be rushed into paying and bundled out of the door. "Bar needs to close, tram is coming, and the ond after's in an hour." Errr ok, I guess Eberstadt goes to bed early. Guinness well priced at under 6€. Beer range is nothing to write home about; did any Darmstadt pub/bar ever think of offering a selection? This would be the perfect place. Pizzas are decent but a little doughy and maybe too heavy on toppings. Good variety though. They used to have small and large; both seem now subsumed into a medium onesizefitsalls. All in all, good atmospheric old-fashioned place for a fair-priced pizza and drink, but don't bank on a late night!

The Margherita pizza was for the kids and tasted burnt! Far too expensive for the quality. It's a shame, but I hope it gets better.

We've been coming regularly for decades and always eat the same thing: a Lafayette salad and a Tolarella pizza. Unfortunately, the new menu no longer offers either. We asked if we could still have it, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. Okay, so we tried something new. The arugula pizza came without arugula, and the salad we ordered with extra cheese came without cheese. Everything took quite a long time; I didn't keep checking the clock, but I estimate 50 minutes, even though it was fairly empty and quite late. We arrived around 8:15 p.m., and by 9:15 p.m. the food still wasn't there. The service was friendly, but we got the menu ourselves. The pizza and salad tasted good, but the dough is different, too. For us, this antique restaurant has lost its unique selling point; there are plenty of good pizza and salads in Darmstadt. We were a bit disappointed.

Since the change of ownership, I've unfortunately stopped enjoying the pizza. I really liked the old "original" local pizza; even in a meadow, it was a unique selling point compared to other restaurants.

We were very satisfied for a long time. We've been there twice in the last four months. The first time was a complete disaster. The pizza dough wasn't cooked all the way through. The wait, despite the restaurant being only moderately busy, was over an hour. It was better the second time... The pizza used to be reliably thin and crispy - unfortunately, that's changed. In four pizzas, we've had everything from burnt to way too much dough to being in the oven for too short a time :-( Side note: The effusive 5-star reviews from people who have written very few other reviews, and who, moreover, use a completely different writing style, raise the suspicion that these might be favors.

It was my first time here since switching. The pizza was very crispy and there was way too much tomato sauce, which was essentially just tomato paste. This strong flavor practically overpowered all the other ingredients and their flavors. Maybe just a bad day? Service could have been a bit more attentive.

We've been enthusiastic about Antik Lokales for years. This time we picked up some and were very disappointed. The Giggel Box isn't nearly as extensive as it used to be, and everything was very dry. We feel it's significantly overpriced for the price. Perhaps the owner has changed hands? Unfortunately, this is no longer acceptable for us, and this will be the last time – a shame!

The "new" antique restaurant under new ownership unfortunately can't keep up with the original. Service was (contrary to other reviews) excellent! Very friendly, and the wait time was great. The pizza, however, unfortunately can't keep up with the old one. It was in the oven a bit too long, and the dough and base were quite thick. The new interior isn't as quaint and iconic as before. It's a shame, really; I always loved coming here.

"A place of moderation, dignity – and genuine enjoyment" I've known the Antik Lokales since childhood – my home is less than seven minutes away. Even back then, it was known for hearty schnitzels and authentic pizza – dishes that still impress today. But over the years, the restaurant has changed – not in its essence, but in its offerings. The Mediterranean appetizers, in particular, demonstrate renewed care. The Bruschetta Mediterranea was appealing in appearance, fresh in flavor, and a refreshing treat on a warm day. For my main course, I chose – with rare moderation – not a flatbread or a meat dish, but one of the salads: the Sparta Bowl. And anyone who knows me knows: When I exercise moderation at mealtimes, it's not out of weakness, but out of insight. My request for the salad to be served simply with olive oil and a bowl of herbs was accommodated kindly and naturally – a sign of thoughtfulness that shouldn't go unnoticed. On my next visit, my eyes will fall on the promising "Marktplatte Antik" (Antique Market Plate) – accompanied by one of the Pinse (traditional German pineapple) on offer, which already arouses curiosity and anticipation. The service was attentive, humane, and quietly polite. The restaurant itself impresses with its rustic character, the beer garden with its dignity and moderation – no longer with the boisterous hustle and bustle of years past. Here, the body is nourished without overwhelming the senses. The mind finds peace without falling into emptiness. -A word about getting there: Those expecting a parking space right outside the door might easily become frustrated – spaces there are few. But be advised: The Antik Lokales is less than a minute from the "Kirche" stop. For those coming from further away or stopping in spontaneously and unfamiliar with the area, it's worth taking a look between the Modaubrücke and Kirche stops: Between the Schäfer bakery and the Rewe supermarket, there are two entrances leading to free parking spaces. There aren't many of them, and space is limited—but so far, there's always been room for the modern traveling carriage. This isn't a Roman place. But if it were standing in the shadow of a temple, it would have honor enough to exist there. Laudo opus—et cum honore redeam. "I praise the work—and I will return with dignity."

A true Eberstadt gem! The owners have preserved the rustic charm and created a modern beer garden with a new concept – fantastic. You can tell from the service that the people here are passionate about their work.

Big praise to the kitchen for the new pizza. Crispy dough and no pan shape, a real improvement. And the delicious non-alcoholic apple wine, delicious.

Since the new owners took over, it's been our absolute favorite restaurant in the Darmstadt area. The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are even larger! In the summer, it's ideal for sitting outside in the lovely beer garden with plenty of shade. Great service, always friendly, and, above all, very child-friendly! Some friends of ours had a piece of glass in their pizza on Friday. Unbelievable. They even had to pay for the pizza. That's unacceptable.

We've been coming to the antik lokales for at least 10 years and wanted to try it again after a long break. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great evening. Overall, the beer garden is still nice after the renovations, but the seating isn't as comfortable anymore, partly because they've set up more tables and chairs. Unfortunately, we waited 60 minutes for the pizza. The pizza itself was okay, although the bottom was borderline black and generally quite dense and a bit dry. The service was unfortunately very slow and inattentive. During the entire wait and even afterward, we weren't even asked if we wanted a drink. Last but not least, cutting the pizza was really hard work, so I'd gladly buy new knives :)

For my birthday, I decided to go to this restaurant with my family because I was particularly impressed by the selection of whole-wheat pizzas. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. When we arrived at 6 p.m., we immediately learned that they were out of Parmesan, chicken breast, and whole-wheat crust that day. Instead, we ordered a pinsa for our diabetic friend, which turned out to be a better alternative to regular pizza. While the pizzas and pinsas were well-topped, they were also quite doughy. The service also seemed a bit uncoordinated (the wrong pinsa), and the rhubarb spritzer was sold out before 7 p.m. I used to enjoy visiting this restaurant when the pizzas were still round and the crust thin. But after this experience, I probably won't be coming back for a while.

A definite recommendation for anyone who loves good pizza. And let's be honest—everyone loves a good pizza! We sat in the garden with a large group. Extremely friendly staff! Great drinks! We'll be back. Many thanks to the local team!

The pizza is no longer local-like. The new base is too dry, and the edges look more like bread. Some of the pizzas were burnt, and you could taste the burnt bits. When I asked about the burnt bits, I was told that was normal. The knives are unusable for pizza, so I'd like the old ones back. The cutlery in baskets in the beer garden isn't ideal either. When you take out cutlery, you have to grab the cutting edge or the prongs, and the napkins aren't individual. The cutlery wasn't clean either, even at the neighboring tables. I don't know if the plates have gotten bigger or the pizzas smaller. Unfortunately, we won't be eating pizza there anymore, which is a shame because we often used the street transport.

I wanted to try the new pizza, and it was worth it! It's also delicious as a takeaway!

Honestly: The food at Antik used to be solid, but not something I would have come specifically for the pizza. Now it's completely different: The new pizza is a real eye-catcher – irregularly shaped, which shows that the pizza is made by hand. In terms of taste, it's a whole new level. Not a typical Italian pizza, but rustic, large, generously topped, and simply filling. Perfectly fitting for the character of the restaurant. You can tell that a lot of effort is put into quality here – and not just in the pizza. For me, this is a very harmonious development that shows how the Antik restaurant is forging its own path. I hope it can continue on this path successfully – they deserve it.

I visited Antik Lokales in Eberstadt for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I had the cooked cheese schnitzel with fries – absolutely delicious! The schnitzel was nice and crispy, the cooked cheese on top was creamy and flavorful. The fries were golden brown and crispy, just as they should be. The service was friendly and attentive, and I immediately felt like I was in good hands. The wait was also perfectly acceptable – the food arrived hot and fresh. This is definitely a great value for money. I'd love to come back – next time I'll probably try the hunter's schnitzel, which looked really good at the table next door.

Favorite place! Simply a special place – the beer garden is like a little secret garden in the middle of the city, quaint and cozy inside with lots of little nooks and crannies. The pizza is amazing, the dough is handmade and super delicious. There are countless beers, plus a small but really good selection of wines and cocktails. The wine list is nothing to be ashamed of! The new menu has some great highlights – the chef's cheese board, the appetizer platter with burrata, and the fresh pasta are highly recommended. The pasta has made a huge leap forward compared to the old days. I'd happily go back again!

We (a company group of 12 people) visited for the second time on a Saturday evening because we wanted to give the restaurant another chance after our first visit in February. Today it was worse than the first time. I don't even want to comment on our order! According to Google, the antique restaurant is open until 12:00 PM. We were asked to order the last round around 10:35 PM because they were closing then. (The server's statement was, "because the boss wants it that way.") However, we weren't given a time to leave! At 11:15 PM, the server came over, annoyed, and told us we had to leave. We should have been gone by 11:00 PM. Our glasses were still full. We would have ordered more on both our first and second visits if the waiter had been at the table more often. I'm really not picky and have worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years myself, but this is a real NO GO! I won't recommend it to anyone!!!!

"Simply absolutely amazing." I always love going to Antik. The pizza dough they make here has improved significantly compared to the past. They have homemade fried chicken, cooked cheese, great dips, and a delicious new pasta dish, as well as one of the largest selections of beer and wine in the area. Plus, there's no comparable atmosphere in Darmstadt, neither indoors in the winter nor in the new beer garden in the summer. You won't find anywhere else as relaxed as this.

For decades, Antik Lokales has been our pizza place, even among our friends. But since the change of ownership and the new "pizza dough" (dough is more important than toppings??!), we'll probably refrain from going there. It's a shame, really.

Antik Lokales has been in Darmstadt-Eberstadt for a long time. We visited the restaurant several years ago and were disappointed with the food. Now, after the renovation and new kitchen, we decided to try it again. First, the positives: the staff are exceptionally polite and attentive. The food: There was food for four people, and what can I say? There's definitely room for improvement. Let's start with the cutlery. The knives had a hard time cutting through the crispy pizza, and not just at our table. Now for the food in detail: Starter plate: Good selection of ingredients, very tasty pizza rolls. Unfortunately, the only ham on the platter was cooked ham; a spicy Parma ham would have been better here. Cooked cheese schnitzel: Large portion, but: The schnitzels are deep-fried, and you can taste it. Maybe they could bring themselves to fry them in clarified butter and then charge €2 more (as an alternative). We were unlucky with the cooked cheese; it was unfortunately "crappy." The feta, as an appetizer – oven-baked feta – was very hot with plenty of vegetables. But even that could be a bit better; if they gratinated it a bit more at the end, it would be a dream. No complaints – the brownie was excellent. Drinks arrived promptly, and refills were always promptly refilled. It's actually worth three stars, but four because of the excellent staff.

We visited Frankfurt 2 months ago for a few days and we wanted to explore the areas around! We found Antik Lokales and really liked it! We didn’t make a reservation but the staff were very helpful and found us a table immediately. They came to take our order very quick and the drinks came within the first 10’ , we ordered pizza and our order was ready within about 35-40’ . The pizzas were amazing with a thin (but not the italian paper thin) dough baked in a metal pan which made the dough nice and crunchy! I got a vegetarian pizza and everything was fresh and tasty! My sister tried the schnitzel with the mushrooms and loved it but couldn’t finish it all cause it was too big! Generally we ate and drunk plenty and good and we gave 30€ each ! Pretty good value for money! I will be in Germany next week and honestly i will revisit Antik Lokales as i saw on their instagram profile they changed the pizzas so i want to taste the new menu!

We love going to this restaurant with its cozy atmosphere and music that's perfect for us. The service is always friendly. The pizza dough has been changed and tastes even better to us. We found the fresh, regional ingredients for the salad to be excellent and exactly what we wanted. It's also helpful to be able to read about the origins of these regional products on the back of the menu.

Nice pub atmosphere and pub food. Staff is friendly. Parking situation outside is a no go, as many parking spaces were deliberately removed. So it might take 15-20 minutes to find a free spot...

When you think you've tried every pizza in the world - Antik Lokales comes along and teaches you otherwise! Huge selection, great taste and a base that's crispier than my post-summer vacation budget. Even apart from the pizza, it was a hit: the schnitzel came to the plate golden brown and juicy, the side salad was so fresh that I was almost tempted to water it. The service? Fast, friendly, attentive – but not intrusive. Just the right mix of relaxedness and professionalism. You can tell that gastronomy is done with passion here. Conclusion: If you leave here hungry, it's your own fault. I'll definitely be back - probably more often than I'd like (my scale is already complaining).

We have around 40-50 pizza chips per year. The days in the restaurant at Fantasy had the wrong sauce, horseradish instead of garlic. Took salads home today, they were basically without sauce. The containers were half empty. We actually know it differently. This development is a real shame!

We were there on Friday evening. The place was packed. Service was slow, especially in the back rooms. The menu is overwhelming. You should aggressively simplify all food options. Choose 10-12 of the most popular pizzas - remove the rest. Add a burger or two to the menu. Salads were good. Overall it's very basic pub grub with too much salt and oil. Guinness and Grohe beers were good. Maybe a little more color on the walls for atmosphere. The color scheme and art are very boring and could be modernized. The website and reservation system can also be updated. All in all... The place has great potential under the new management.

Delicious schnitzels and pizza in a cozy atmosphere! The restaurant impresses with its rustic charm - lots of wood and warm, inviting furnishings. The schnitzels are huge and taste great! The cooked cheese and Bolognese schnitzel are particularly recommended. Super tender meat and crispy breading. In my opinion, by far the best schnitzels in the area. The portions are large, the prices are fair - here you really get something for your money, which is rarely the case in most restaurants these days. We'll definitely be back!

Were there again yesterday evening, but as others say, not like it used to be with the old tenant. Prices have risen sharply and are not in proportion to the food, which is no longer what it used to be. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all. The staff I have to say are super friendly and comfortable to sit there. The Antik-Lokales is an institution in Eberstadt, it has existed for years, the premises and menu have remained stable. I think it's great 😀 Even after the renovation, the charm and flair of this restaurant is still there. The food is delicious, well made, plentiful, down to earth. Price/performance ratio is right, the portions are large. The service is friendly, attentive and fast - no one has to wait long here. All in all, a great visit and certainly not the last one at this restaurant 😀

I have been a guest for decades. Since the change of managing director things have continued to go downhill! The prices are one thing but the quality of the food is no longer good. In the last few weeks, in about 10 visits, the pizza has been completely burned!!! Schnitzel dry, noodles just a cup of cream poured over it and not seasoned or still cold inside. Classic cooking in the microwave! Sorry it's no longer possible, make an effort or change your cook

One of the best restaurants with a great ambience and really good, honest food in the region. We really enjoy being there and can only recommend it! PS: The new beer garden is also really nice.

Really quaint atmosphere! We even got an extra (fireplace) room for our group. Unfortunately the heating was turned on a little too late! But the food was super delicious! Gladly again.

Wir hatten unser eigenes (Kamin-)Zimmer mit der Gruppe. Leider war vergessen worden vorher die Heizung hoch zu drehen, war doch etwas frisch. Aber das Essen echt lecker!

If you like something antique, you're in good hands here. The service was friendly, the food was also completely fine. Can be recommended without hesitation. However, you have to look for parking spaces nearby. If my ex-mother-in-law or ex-wife has to stalk me because they have no life… Find a hobby, you victims 😉
