Delicious schnitzels and pizza in a cozy atmosphere! The restaurant impresses with its rustic charm - lots of wood and warm, inviting furnishings. The schnitzels are huge and taste great! The cooked cheese and Bolognese schnitzel are particularly recommended. Super tender meat and crispy breading. In my opinion, by far the best schnitzels in the area. The portions are large, the prices are fair - here you really get something for your money, which is rarely the case in most restaurants these days. We'll definitely be back!

Were there again yesterday evening, but as others say, not like it used to be with the old tenant. Prices have risen sharply and are not in proportion to the food, which is no longer what it used to be. Sorry, but that doesn't work at all. The staff I have to say are super friendly and comfortable to sit there. What's also new now is that you now have to have an app to get pizza coupons, it's not possible, but it stays the way it used to be.

The Antik-Lokales is an institution in Eberstadt, it has existed for years, the premises and menu have remained stable. I think it's great 😀 Even after the renovation, the charm and flair of this restaurant is still there. The food is delicious, well made, plentiful, down to earth. Price/performance ratio is right, the portions are large. The service is friendly, attentive and fast - no one has to wait long here. All in all, a great visit and certainly not the last one at this restaurant 😀

I have been a guest for decades. Since the change of managing director things have continued to go downhill! The prices are one thing but the quality of the food is no longer good. In the last few weeks, in about 10 visits, the pizza has been completely burned!!! Schnitzel dry, noodles just a cup of cream poured over it and not seasoned or still cold inside. Classic cooking in the microwave! Sorry it's no longer possible, make an effort or change your cook

Really quaint atmosphere! We even got an extra (fireplace) room for our group. Unfortunately the heating was turned on a little too late! But the food was super delicious! Gladly again.

If you like something antique, you're in good hands here. The service was friendly, the food was also completely fine. Can be recommended without hesitation. Very nice restaurant - the name says it all. Cozy corners for 2, but also larger tables. Food and drink really tasty (large portions, be careful 😀). Just test it!

Yesterday at 6:15 p.m. we immediately asked if we had a reservation even though the whole place was almost empty. Local shopping is on the menu at 18.90 for schnitzel with cooked cheese and for Tiki Chicken Pizza at 16.90 chicken breast was bought in strips and paprika bacon and Barbecue sauce and spicy Edam cheese were under the topping and there was too little sauce. The edge of the pizza was baked for too long. The middle was soft so the schnitzel wasn't baked properly Fibers that means poor quality very thin and baked in a deep fryer the schnitzel came out cold when I told her she said we had warmed it up again so in the microwave she added additional sauces sustainable but still very unfriendly the neighboring table with 4 people had all the sauces for example. Ketchup/mayo etc. I only got one of them. The best thing about the food was the drinks. If you go back to the juice shop you get 1 coupon for each meal. If you have 20 you get a pizza for free. The next table with 4 people had 8 pieces so that was it I come here often and would be treated better for this quality. I would rather not go to a snack bar

Pizza dough too thick and limp for my taste. Sat in front of empty glasses for 20 minutes and had to eat my pizza without a drink. Espresso only came after paying...+1 star more because it's Christmas

Unfortunately the garlic sauce is completely dry from baking. It has the consistency and taste of herb quark or cream cheese. It used to be like aioli. Unfortunately, the herb sauce (hardly any garlic taste) didn't taste much more like dill or other herbs. The pizzas were all rather dry (not enough sauce). In addition, canned mushrooms were used, which I find extremely unfortunate and unnecessary, as everywhere else it explicitly says "fresh mushrooms", even with the extras you assume that mushrooms are generally fresh. There were a lot of them, but since I find canned mushrooms absolutely disgusting, they all ended up in the trash. Unfortunately, in the photo you can see the crumbly consistency of the sauce, which was more like herb cream cheese, which has never been so normal before. Unfortunately it's no longer worth it for us.

The shop has been great for years and the food is simply great.

The restaurant is great! The food was really excellent! The hot chocolate brownie rounded off the evening perfectly. The atmosphere is still very cozy and furnished with heart. You can tell that the owners care about the store. We can recommend a visit to everyone!

A must for pizza and pasta lovers! The Antik Lokales has been our favorite restaurant since it reopened. The schnitzel is excellent and the pasta tastes authentically Italian. The new tenants have beautifully decorated the beer garden, and the sanitary facilities are now modern and clean. You just feel good!

A great experience! The new tenants have really managed to get the best out of the Antik Lokal. Pizza, schnitzel and salads are of the highest quality, and the toilets are newly renovated and modern. The new beer garden is particularly beautiful – a real insider tip in Eberstadt!

UPDATE 10/21/24: A lot has happened in the AL. Newly designed card that looks very good. New dishes on the menu - for example the Fishbox is a recommendation. There is also a selection of sauces, ketchup and mayo delivered directly to the table - all included. There is also a new selection of fresh, homemade lemonades on the drinks menu, which taste very delicious. The largest pizza menu ever can be found at Antik Lokales in the middle of Darmstadt-Eberstadt. The dining room is a bit cluttered, but it's all the more rustic. Just something different and that's a good thing. The waitresses are all very friendly and are happy to give tips when ordering or know the menu almost by heart (which is really a masterpiece when it comes to choosing 😉). Now under new management, the beautiful beer garden has also been completely redesigned and now looks very inviting. The sanitary facilities were also renovated. All in all, you know that you're in good hands at Antik Lokal and, above all, you'll get good food.

An institution in Darmstadt, always an experience with a nice little, cozy beer garden. I particularly like the inexpensive children's options, which are more like an adult portion in terms of portion size. Many restaurants can follow an example!

Always a pleasure. World's best pizza. A variety of pizza creations that are second to none. My tip is... The Neumann Spezial or the Dutch. If you're brave, you should try the zombie pizza. The ambience is right, as is the service. It's also worth traveling further to spend an evening here. Just parking there can be a bit challenging, but somehow it always works.

Very well topped pizza with lots of ingredients, large selection, it's best to look at the menu beforehand as it's very extensive. Ambiance in the front area is very nice and rustic, in the back area there is room for improvement.

Please change the text on your answering machine. We drive an hour to you and called in advance to find out the opening times. Unfortunately, we are now faced with closed doors. It's a shame, we were looking forward to some great pizza.

Cool beer garden behind the house. Recommended.

We went there twice in quick succession over the summer and both times the service was poor. The wrong drinks were brought (beer instead of Äppler) because they forgot to say that Äppler was currently out. Likewise the rosé. A little later we saw Äppler at neighboring tables. When we asked, we were told that the drinks supplier had been there in the meantime. It's amazing that such basic drinks even go out in the summer. The food was brought to us without cutlery with the comment that cutlery would be brought straight away. Of course it wasn't like that, it was forgotten. It's a mystery to me why you don't bring it to the table right away or ideally beforehand and why you don't want to make the guest wait for it. After waiting in vain, we finally had to get up and ask for cutlery. My salad (Italia) was completely swimming in a thick sauce, which, together with the fact that it was completely over-salted, made it barely edible. The homemade bread that came with it can only be described as an accident. It was probably made from pizza dough, but it didn't rise at all, so they were more cookie-like and completely tasteless rolls. The base of the pizzas tastes similarly biscuit-like. All in all, not an experience when it comes to service and food. Unfortunately, the nice atmosphere doesn't help anymore.

Toller Aussenbereich, nette Bedienung, super Essen und tolle Stimmung

We have been there twice this year with friends. On our first visit in spring we got a table inside. Thanks to the comfortable division into smaller areas, you can relax and eat very well with friends or even sit a little longer 😉 On the second visit we sat down in the newly designed beer garden. This visit also turned into a lovely evening with friends, great food, super nice friendly service and “summer feelings” included 😎 🍹 WE'LL LOVE TO COME BACK!!!

One of the worst pizzas I've ever had. The topping was okay, but the dough was absolutely out of the question. It tasted kind of “vomity”, I can’t think of another word to describe it vividly.

I've been going to restaurants and beer gardens for so long and have always loved it. Yesterday, however, I had the worst pizza I've ever eaten there. I always thought the pizza was delicious and never had anything to complain about. After I noticed that the pizza prices had increased immensely and the pizza had also become a little smaller, it was unfortunately the case that the pizza no longer met my expectations at all (my friend didn't like it just as much). The dough was cookie-dry and no longer had the good taste. I always liked the thin dough, which to my dismay has now become thicker with a higher edge. After the first bite I asked if the day was different than usual, but was immediately told no. When I said that the dough was extremely dry, I saw from the waitress's reaction that it wasn't the first time he had heard that. We both ate about half of the pizza and gave the rest back. When we mocked the taste, we were offered a drink on the house, but we weren't interested in that anymore. Very, very unfortunate. There were still tips, but nothing had changed in the friendliness of the waitresses and the lovely ambience. However, we don't yet know whether we will come back again so quickly. In principle, we are happy to pay a euro or two more if the food is worth it. Unfortunately, in this case it wasn't the case the first time.

Worst pizza ever. With squid rings with soggy breading, partly gray prawns and a salad with horseradish sauce. 30€ for that. Never again!

Great pizzas, better toppings than before, lots of different types of beer, great beer garden, friendly service. Everything was great.

For as long as I can remember, we have enjoyed going to the Antik Lokal. The menu has changed slightly. Unfortunately, the rustic, cozy atmosphere was taken away from the beer garden. We noticed that the pizzas have become much greasier and the pizza dough is no longer the same. This was soggy due to all the fat. Unfortunately, this was the case for everyone. But the taste is okay and if you soak up the fat with a napkin. Praise that there are more salad dressings now. But unfortunately the honey mustard wasn't really flavorful. Cucumber slices were roughly chopped. But the chicken on it wasn't freshly cooked. In this price range, I don't expect dry snippets warmed up in the micro. Sorry but I probably won't come anymore.

Gladly again :) This was our first time at Antik Lokales. We didn't want to go in at first because one or two reviews said the pizza was dry. But we thought that couldn't be the case given all the good reviews. All we can say is that we ate a very airy, perhaps somewhat unusual tall pizza. What is absolutely unique is how generous the toppings are on the pizza. Unlike the Italian restaurant, where I get two slices of ham and three tomatoes on the pizza, here there is really something in the pizza and you definitely won't go home hungry. The quaint interior of the store is certainly more suitable for winter. But the green beer garden is even more beautiful. We were certainly not there for the last time.

Wir hatten gestern einen entspannten Abend im wunderschön neu gestalteten Biergarten im Antik Lokales. Obwohl es gestern sehr warm war, hat es sich im Biergarten gut aushalten lassen. Die große Linde spendet angenehmen Schatten. Die Speisekarte hat äußerlich nach wie vor die gleiche traditionelle Erscheinungsform. Auch die vielen verschiedenen typischen Pizzasorten sind geblieben. Es gibt aber auch ein paar neue Gerichte zu entdecken, wie verschieden Pasta al forno, verschiedenes Pinsa's und viele leckere Salate mit verschiedenen Dressing's. Sogar 2 Desserts gibt es auf der neuen Karte. Die Preise sind komplett angemessen. Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!

After a few years the prices were increased again, sometimes a little more. But: yesterday I ate a (huge) pizza and drank two beers and left the store with less than €25. Yes, five or ten years ago that would have been unthinkable. But eating out is just expensive and it is everywhere. Here, however, this is absolutely limited and you still get a great ambience. We'd love to come back

After initial difficulties, everything was fine We were there last Monday. Unfortunately the pizza wasn't really good. We let them go back, but someone who might have been a restaurant manager or something like that promptly came to our table. He apologized and explained that the pizza baker was unfortunately sick and that the helper probably didn't get the dough right that day. You can understand that. In any case, we were offered something alternative and even something on the house. That's exactly how it has to be when something goes wrong. All we can say is that we are extremely satisfied! The human thing was right.

Just something completely different. Antik Lokales makes pizza like no one else. The pizza here is not like an Italian restaurant, but rather properly topped and with an airy, high dough similar to a pan pizza 🍕. It may look strange at first, but it tastes incredibly delicious. And there really is something here. The pizza feels like it weighs 1 kg. I can't understand why some people write in the comments that 12 euros is too expensive. You sit in a very beautiful garden with music, which is very rare, if at all, in Darmstadt. The wine selection has also really improved massively. We have always been very satisfied and if something went wrong, a solution was always found

I rarely write reviews, but now that my favorite in Eberstadt has a new menu, I have to share my opinion here - delicious schnitzels, fresh salads and by far the best pizza in the area! You're happy to pay a few thalers more for high-quality, regional products. The new beer garden is very cozy, but the restaurant also has an antique flair inside.

Here you will be impressed with regional and fresh cuisine. The pizza is typically “local” - a little thicker and with plenty of toppings. You can taste the butcher quality in the schnitzels - all in all a great improvement! The newly designed beer garden also invites you to linger and offers a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The prices are absolutely justified given the freshness, quality and regionality. Anyone who complains about the prices here has probably not been to any other restaurant or bought groceries in the supermarket recently. We'll definitely be back!

I knew the antique restaurant from before. It was a kind of student restaurant and you could eat very cheap and good pizza here. I was here a week ago and I don't think I'll be back any time soon. The prices are absolutely overpriced and, especially for the pizza, you pay like you would at a posh Italian restaurant. Unfortunately the pizza didn't taste good at all. I had a zombie pizza and a 1/2 to 3/4 glass of pepperoni was carelessly poured onto the pizza. The service staff were very friendly, but €15 was just too much for a pizza that wasn't tasty.

Went there for the second time recently. What can I say - simply wonderful. We sat in the really beautiful and newly designed beer garden. My girlfriend had a fantastic pizza and I had a mega schnitzel! The service was incredibly friendly and quick. Our new favorite restaurant! We'll definitely be back!

The prices have increased by a whopping 50 percent. Schnitzel has become 8 euros more expensive and the pizza is totally dry. I will never order there again. I took a menu with me 4 weeks ago and ordered it yesterday with 5 people. They got the pizza from the card and then the call came and now we have paid almost €20 more, that's not possible.

Bye bye, local pizza. I loved it and used to work there myself (Dieburger Straße). Enjoyed as a pizza highlight with the family when it was “pizza day”. That came to an abrupt end today. Why: Price performance is absolutely no longer correct here! A large local restaurant for pick-up for €14.90 (!). Sorry, but that doesn't add up anymore, at least for me. If the quality and taste were still at the same level as before, we could perhaps still tolerate it, but like that? Maybe you'll see me again to redeem my "pizza chips" (for everyone who can't do anything with them: collect 20 pieces and you'll get one for free; as long as the number to redeem them is still there). What a pity..... Note: Service and ambience are of course not included in my rating, so I tried to give a neutral rating here with "☆☆☆" (forced).

Wir kommen seit 20 Jahren immer wieder ins Antik Lokales zurück. Nun waren wir das erste Mal seit dem neuen Besitzer wieder zum Abendessen dort. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht von dem Essen. Die Renovierung ist wirklich schön geworden, wobei wir den kleinen Teich und das Podest vermisst haben. Alles in Allem aber eine schöne Wandlung im Außenbereich und auf den Toiletten. Die bekannte Bedienung war wie immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und gibt einem das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein. Da uns das Essen leider gar nicht geschmeckt hat wir hatten zwei Pizzen, werden wir vorerst nicht mehr ins Antik Lokales gehen. Das schmerzt uns wirklich sehr, da wir sehr gerne hierhergekommen sind.

After a vacation we ordered something to eat at the local place. As usual, a salad and a Neumann Spezial. I've been a fan of this pizza for 40 years. The preparation time of 15 minutes was quick and the service staff was very nice. The bad surprise came with the bill. I should pay 30.80 euros. The employee wasn't particularly surprised by my reaction, but was uncomfortable. As is usual at the time, the “killing argument” was the increased VAT. I find the price of 15.90 euros for the standard salad (called Salad Paris) simply exorbitant. The cost of goods was probably less than 4 euros and consisted mainly of leaf salads. The other ingredients were clear. The soggy bread didn't make it any better. A similar salad (at that time chef's salad or French salad) cost 9.90 euros about 7 months ago. All I can say in conclusion is that I lost customers again. I understand why more and more people are eating at home again. The price/performance ratio is simply no longer right here.

I think the price increase within three months is really a shame and also outrageous. I understand that everything is becoming more expensive due to inflation etc. and that the probably quite expensive renovation has to be recouped somehow. BUT the fact that pizzas and salads (especially this one) are getting a lot smaller and are €5 more expensive is crazy. Three months ago I paid €15 less for the same things and now I paid €43 for two pizzas and a salad.

Unfortunately, our beloved counter pizza has been made worse! Instead of Knofi sauce now dill cream cheese and instead of spicy cheese tasteless white cheese. The dough is now as thick as Mom's plum cake. You get full. But if you consider the complexity of the flavors of the namesake (with real Knofi sauce based on an old local recipe) you are disappointed. Memories of French campsite pizza attempts come back. Maybe it was all just an accident? The dill note makes me look for salmon everywhere. Vain. Oh local. Why did you change the 40-year-old recipe? A sacrilege.

Service seems a bit chaotic at times, otherwise great ambience and really tasty salads and schnitzels. Recommendation the Kochkässchnitzel and a Grohe vom Barrel.

We used to be fans of the antique bar before the renovation. However, this has changed... The beer garden has received a long overdue update. Well done… But the pizza, on the other hand, is not justified in terms of price. Small version of the tuna pizza, for example, for €14, the tuna was apparently added to the pizza with its own juice, so that the base was not just soggy but a soft mass. The beer was almost warm. Very unfortunate. But the service was nice.

Hello, we got the wrong pizza and got the right one 2 minutes later and were allowed to keep the other one. The service was great and everyone was really nice. The atmosphere was also great

The fantasy “salad pizza” was delicious. Not quite as tasty as it was at Mephisto in Dieburg (unsure what that was called) but close. Very nice staff and quite a cozy atmosphere outside. Unfortunately there is only 0.5 liters of water in the glass and no water bottles. Otherwise it was a very nice evening. Thank you

It's simply a classic in Eberstadt. I have the feeling that the food and the staff have unfortunately become a bit worse recently. My friend ordered a Pilsner and the waitress talked to an older couple for an hour. Very unfortunate The Fantasy Vegetarian was actually always delicious but unfortunately a bit subdued last time Hope things get better again. I always love eating there

Op doorreis even wat lekkers gegeten. Van de buitenkant ziet het er niet heel spectaculair uit. Binnen gezellige hoekjes en achter het restaurant een mooi groot terras. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Het was er druk. Maar ondanks dat was de bediening vlot en vriendelijk. Drankjes werden snel geserveerd. Pizza en lasagne waren heel goed van smaak. Pizza beetje dikke bodem maar zoals vermeld, prima van smaak. Bij vertrek was de zaak helemaal vol. Goed adres met leuke en vriendelijke bediening.

I have known the restaurant for over 40 years. I lived in Eberstadt at the time. The pizza selection has at least doubled since then. My favorites: Caruso, Venezia and the local. I can only recommend the local, even if I take the eye of the beholder or the palate into account in this assessment. Kind regards, WERNER

The Antik Lokal has been number 1 for me in Eberstadt for years if you want a pizza that isn't run of the mill. Here you get an unusual pizza of very good quality. The ambience is also very cozy and clocky, thanks to the many winding corners. The new beer garden also invites you to linger.

Rustic atmosphere, nice service and great food (especially the pizzas and salads with the unique local dressing are highly recommended!)

Was there before the change of tenant and found the pizza terrible, should have been warned, but I went back anyway and what can I say, I'm still stunned how you can serve something like that to your GUESTS. Frozen schnitzel mixed with water and powdered champion cream sauce with canned mushrooms. Simply add a dollop of yogurt dressing from the bottle to the salad. It's not even close to being homemade, and as I write this I'm still horrified. Drink a beer in the beer garden in the summer, ok...but eat...never. The star is for the nice and hard-working staff. And to the owners, try your own food... Otherwise a cozy atmosphere beautifully rustic.

The pizza tastes okay, as do the pasta dishes, and I don't think the prices are cheap either. However, I was more than astonished at the price of 4.90 for a Cola 0.4, which almost borders on exorbitant

Very nice, cool restaurant that is bigger on the inside than the outside. I would recommend at any time. The food is good and the location is exceptional. I have extremely fond memories of the service. We'll definitely go there again.
