Antep Gülbaba Köz in Hamburg

Sometimes you should listen to your gut feeling. Or in my case: to the quiet voice that says “Maybe not today, maybe not this place.” Unfortunately, I wasn't the decision maker that evening. One person in our group insisted on going to Köz Antep Gülbaba. I was the only woman in the group and didn't feel particularly welcome as soon as I walked in. But good, new places, new happiness – I thought. I still had a slight stomach upset from the day before and, just to be on the safe side, I ordered a vegetarian dish with eggplant. I like sitting outside, but eating directly at the Reeperbahn is... let's say, special. Noise, smoke and people passing by included. Of course, this isn't the restaurant's fault, but it's something you should know. What happened next, however, was entirely the house's responsibility: the service was slow and everything took far too long, even though there was hardly any activity. My dish came last. Not the end of the world, but when the order was taken there was an inappropriate comment from the waiter in his native language. What he didn't know: I understood him. Condescending and unnecessary, but I saved myself the moment and said nothing. Unfortunately, the food was the low point. I grew up with similar dishes in my culture and know this way of preparation well. I've had eggplant dishes at other Turkish restaurants that were wonderful. Unfortunately it wasn't this one. It was simply inedible. I took two or three bites and then let the other two in my group try it - they all found it equally unpleasant tasting. I returned the dish, which had more than seven-eighths of it left, and politely asked for the menu so I could choose something else. Instead of understanding there was another unfriendly comment. A new card never came. Neither is a new dish. In the meantime, over an hour passed. A fellow guest ordered tea for everyone, I had specifically said beforehand that I didn't want sweet tea because of my stomach problem. Of course I still got one. I passed it on, but I still didn't eat anything. Apparently this was also on the house. I still ended up paying for my dish even though I couldn't eat it nor was a replacement offered. I even rounded up slightly, which came to about a twenty cent tip, out of a bill of about eight euros. And then the unthinkable happened: the waiter started yelling at me. Really loud. I was honestly shocked. He insulted me, threw my money back at me and even tugged at my jacket. He demanded that I pay two euros for the tea, which had previously been announced as “on the house”. I don't know if he was just having a terrible day, if he has a problem with women in general, or if he just didn't know that I understood him. But to be treated like that, in a restaurant, was absolutely shocking to me. The food wasn't good, I didn't eat it, I wasn't given an alternative and ended up getting yelled at. This was by far my worst restaurant experience ever. I will not enter this place again. And I can't recommend him to anyone. If it were possible to give zero stars, that's exactly what I would do.

Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. In particular the price-performance ratio. My biggest criticism, even if it may be individual, is that the dürum was not in the oven if the bread remained raw.

Really fantastic Ottoman cuisine, charming staff, clean shop and well-kept sanitary facilities. 10/10 for the food, ambience… well, it's just on the street, but it's ideal for people watching.

After a night of partying, we returned to the location in a larger, quiet group. None of us have ever had a worse Turkish dish, let alone worse service. Never again, every party guest is recommended to avoid this location

Mass processing. Food came after 3 minutes. Actually nice but I could have just warmed up the food in the microwave. Apart from the food, everything else is great. We weren't even asked about the sauce or other ingredients.

Very nice staff, very warm heating despite the open doors in nasty weather, short waiting time for the food, very tasty. Small kebab - plate of chicken is completely sufficient, strong Turkish tea that keeps you alert.

Mediocre, little sauce & little effort at least on the evening we visited.

Ordered two kebabs without being spicy, one burns everything away, and the other tastes like nothing and has the consistency of a shoe sole. One fell down and I think that was the best thing that could have happened to us. Absolutely much. The service almost beat us when he found out I was writing this review. Absolutely no go

Very tasty food and by far the loveliest and warmest employees ever.

The first impression was promising: friendly service and good seating create a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the kebab couldn't maintain these positive aspects - a disappointment across the board. I had ordered “salad and sauces everything”, but the only thing that ended up on my kebab was a kind of tzatziki sauce. Hot, herb or garlic sauce? None. The salad was also disappointing: instead of the usual mixture of red cabbage, onions and tomatoes, there was only iceberg lettuce. Overall, this felt more like a meat sandwich than a real kebab. The bread was good, the meat was okay, but the lack of sauces and side dishes left the taste extremely flat. The fries and the bread served with a mild and spicy dip should be positively highlighted - it was delicious. Conclusion: I definitely wouldn't come here again for a kebab.

From the outside it looks like a large kebab shop, but inside it turns out to be a pleasant, well-kept restaurant. Extremely plentiful, tasty and cheap. The service was great and everything was clean.

Enttäuschendes Erlebnis – nicht zu empfehlen Leider war unser Besuch in diesem Restaurant eine große Enttäuschung. Das Essen war völlig geschmacklos, und wir mussten ganze eineinhalb Stunden darauf warten! Die Kellner waren sichtlich überfordert, unorganisiert und schienen keine Ahnung zu haben, welche Bestellungen wohin gehörten. Insgesamt ein frustrierendes Erlebnis – definitiv nicht das, was man sich für einen schönen Abend vorstellt. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Disappointing experience - not recommended Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The food was completely tasteless and we had to wait an entire hour and a half for it! The waiters were visibly overwhelmed, disorganized and seemed to have no idea which orders went where. Overall, a frustrating experience - definitely not what you would expect for a nice evening. We won't be coming back.

I don't like kebab, but this is the second time I've eaten a kebab plate and I think it's delicious. Everyone is very friendly and it is clean. When we are back in Hamburg we will eat here again.

While I was going down the Reeperbahn during my trip to Hamburg, as a native of Antep, when I saw the sign saying Antep on the sign, I immediately entered. I'm glad I entered. Worst kebab plate of my life so far, the whole thing was topped by the behavior of the waitress: The kebab plate tasted bland and the quality didn't match the high price. My friend ordered tzatziki, but it was just an indefinable white sauce. The best thing was cashing in: I wanted to pay with a card, which he didn't like at all. When I didn't give a tip, the good gentleman was finally through with us (no thanks, no goodbyes and extremely pissy/evil looks that he gave you as we walked out). With 28€ I could have eaten better at other places.

Actually, I would rather give zero stars. We have never been treated so condescendingly. We ordered 2 durum and 2 menus. We were initially told that this was part of the menu, dips, bread and salad on the table. When we started to eat, a second waiter came and literally insulted us about why we were about to eat that and that he now had to charge for it. It became clear to us that we had just been deceived. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was absolutely below average. The meat was very fatty, the fries were undercooked, and the sauce had hardly any taste. While clearing the table, the waiter complained to us that we had “eaten like pigs”. For me it was an absolute nonsense that wasn't even true. This impudence and disrespectful behavior continued until we paid, where we actually had to pay for bread and dip. In summary: This store cannot be surpassed in terms of unprofessionalism and audacity. There are really better places to go here in the neighborhood. How so many positive reviews come together here is an absolute mystery.

I think paying €24 for 2 kebabs and 2 drinks is too much on the Reeperbahn. Doner kebab also relatively small for the price. The shop also looks more like a real restaurant than a fast kebab shop. The taste of the kebab was okay, but not a highlight.

What could be better than eating a kebab at midnight. Being in the middle of the Reeperbahn is quite an experience. The kebab itself is fresh and delicious. Prices normally around 7 euros

Steak is dry. Rude server that does not want to speak to you, yet happily adds tip to the total and acts like they do not understand English to avoid removing the tip.

After a long time, I drank kellepaca outside Türkiye and it was not bad. But they made pita with terrible pizza dough, it was bad.

In one word, it's disgusting, stay away, it's not the head and legs they call it, the shop is dirty, flies are crawling everywhere, the staff are unorganized and careless.
