Great food takes time. Grandma took that time and that's not a bad thing at all. Food was rich, creamy and spicy. And that for 13,- pp including drink

The food is a 10/10. Extremely cheap and huge portions. Bring a little time. But it's worth it! The furnishings are kept very simple. But after all, you’re here for food. Gladly again!

For the first time in my life, I was here. Incredibly good. Please note that you should have no issue with spicy food. Here it is like eating at home, so you should not expect fast services. A kind woman(owner) manners with all of guests so kindly. Really recommend all of the people who are looking for something spicy and homemade taste.

Such a great restaurant. We usually order lunch there once a week and also eat here in the evenings from time to time, for example with visitors. The Koththu, for example, is simply great, but all the other dishes I have tried so far have also been great. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly and also sells delicious snacks (samosas etc.) out of the window.

Food was very tasty. Price is very nominal. Any drinks is €2, I loved this and enjoyed few beers. Don't expect a top class atmosphere and speedy service. The lady who owns this, does everything from cooking to serving. So don't hesitate to self serve yourself. Big salute to the lady serving yummy food at nominal price.

The fish curry stood out as my favorite, offering an authentic taste that was truly remarkable. Additionally, the lamb kothu is a must-try, bursting with exquisite flavors that should not be missed.

Fantastic food and very reasonably priced. The owner is authentic and serves personally at every table. There were five of us men and we got very full for just 65 euros including starters and drinks. Strong recommendation from me.

Excellent South Indian food! Super kind and patient Aunty/Owner. Family owned and operated. Note that this restaurant is cash only. Don't stress that they don't speak English, curry, butter chicken, naan, samosa are all still the same words in a German Indian restaurant. Can't recommend this place highly enough, one of the best dinners we had in Cologne and the least expensive! Just over €10 per person with 2 beers!

Was at the window for the first time today. I went there with no expectations and what can I say. I have rarely seen such a welcoming shop in Cologne. From the I don't even want to start with the price, but where else can you get naan for EUR 1.50. I will definitely come back!

Food is amazing, service a bit slow, but I guess that's because she wants to do everything herself. She seems lovely, and they will actually make your food properly spicy if you ask 😋 Prices are fantastic for what you get.

Wer hätte gedacht, dass dieses kleine Lokal ein weiteres echtes Highlight in unserem Köln-Besuch ist und einem für einen kurzen Moment vermittelt, in Sri Lanka zu sein. Wir kommen bald wieder nach Köln und wenn es nur für dieses kleine Restaurant ist😀

Kindest woman in the world! Eat there all the time! I'm a huge Sri Lankan fan and this is the only restaurant in the area that offers authentic Sri Lankan cuisine!

Update: unfortunately the waiting time is sometimes far too long. Last time we ordered different dishes, but in the end we all received the same thing - a bit of a shame. The place is more of a bistro than a restaurant. All dishes are actually vegan unless you add something animal. If you can't decide, you'll get good advice. Especially the samosas and all the other fried little things are incredibly tasty! Be sure to try the sweet ones too 🥰 The only disadvantage is that you sometimes have to be prepared for a long waiting time. The owner is so welcoming that we immediately felt like we were at grandma's house. You rarely meet so much humanity. Simple, delicious, protein-rich food to fill you up and inexpensive.

The food tasted authentic and the service was friendly. I can recommend it. However, I have to admit that the restaurant definitely needs to be redecorated. At first glance it looked like the restaurant was under renovation, but that wasn't the case. The chairs and tables are outdated and the walls are pale. The restaurant needs a new look to attract more customers. I wanted to go back to the entrance. There is definitely potential here.

The food was amazing, and very authentic! Idlis were my favorite, but the palak paneer was also very good and home style. The garlic naan, while not traditional, was a very pleasant surprise. The coconut chutney and sambhar were amazing, and the kotthu roti was pretty good! I did not expect to find such good Sri Lankan and South Indian (Tamil) food in Cologne.

Ein einzigartiges indisches Restaurant mit authentischer südindischer Küche. Mein Favorit ist das Masala Dosa, was ich tatsächlich nur hier außerhalb Indiens gefunden habe. Auch das Ambiente ist authentisch und das sollte auch so sein 😄 Die anderen Gerichte sind auch sehr lecker, ohne das ich etwas hervorheben wollte.

My wife and I are regular customers at Lakshmi. We love to go here for lunch or dinner thanks to its welcoming and warmhearted atmosphere. More importantly, the hospitality of the owner, aka the chef, makes us feel like home. With 2 years of experiences in India, I must admit the food here is exceptionally delicious and authentic. The prices are unbelievably cheap compared to the quality and quantity of the food which tells me how generous the owner is. I would highly recommend you to come and enjoy the food, especially Thali, and have a little chitchat with the owner you will appreciate every moment at the restaurant.

Anna Lakshami ist so authentisch und lecker. Hier wird wert auf Herzlichkeit und Geschmack gesetzt. Man fühlt sich wie in Sri Lanka in einem kleinem Restaurant. Wer also nicht auf Fancy steht sondern echte Küche im echten Flair möchte mit einer unglaublichen Herzlichkeit ist hier zu 100% richtig .

Wir waren heute das erste Mal bei Anna.l.Restaurant etwas essen! Das Essen war super lecker und authentisch! Die Portionen waren wirklich groß und man wird satt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! In Anbetracht der steigenden Inflationsrate ,sollte eine Preisanpassung der Gerichte in Erwägung gezogen werden. Wir kommen wieder :) Vielen Dank für das tolle Essen :)

Leckeres und besonderes Essen, top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und sehr sympathische Bedienung. Wir haben pro Person 10 Euro für eine große Portion + 2 Euro für ein Getränk gezahlt. Dazu gab es einen leckeren Dip zum teilen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sehr gutes, frisch zubereitetes und authentisches südindisches Essen. Durch die Herzlichkeit und Freundlichkeit der Inhaberin in Kombination mit dem Ambiete, welches an einen kleinen indischen Dhaba erinnert, haben wir uns direkt zurück nach Indien versetzt gefühlt. Die Portionen sind ausreichend groß und die Preise mehr als fair. Wir werden hier zukünftig öfter einkehren.

La comida es cien por cien auténtica, no hay ningún otro restaurante en Colonia donde probar las mismas recetas. La mujer que lo lleva es súper atenta, amable y siempre está de buen humor, lo que hace que la estancia sea súper agradable. En la parte de la entrada tienen platos pequeños que hacen frescos. Son súper baratos y súper ricos, totalmente recomendable pedir por lo menos uno de cada.

Wie bei Muttern zu Hause, nur im Süden Indiens. Anfängliche Fragezeichen in meinem Kopf, ob wir hier richtig sind, sind durch die herzliche Begrüßung von Anna (nehme an, dass das ihr Name ist, frage aber beim nächsten Besuch) direkt verflogen. Soulfood! Sehr große Auswahl, super lecker, tolle individuelle Beratung, einfach sensationell. Ganz anders als die nordindische Küche, die man ja sehr gut kennt. Ich stelle mir jetzt selber ein Bein, dass ich das hier schreibe, aber Anna hat es mehr als verdient!

Authentisches, köstliches Essen und super herzlicher Service, man fühlt sich als Gast wirklich willkommen. Wir kommen auch noch nach Jahren gerne zu Lakshmi.

Really didn't like anything about this restaurant other than the old kind lady serving each customer with a smile and diligently taking orders and feedback. The dosa seemed bit too thick and soggy and chicken kotthu tasted quite dry. The medu vada looked like it had been fried long time back and just re-heated, which gave it a very peculiar smell

Für die Preise vollkommen in Ordnung, es ist ja keine Haute Cuisine zu erwarten. Jedoch sind die Wartezeiten recht lange. Ich musste mit meinem Freund über 1 Stunde warten, aber ich hatte Geduld und konnte die anderen Leute beim essen und reden beobachten, was durchaus sehr spannend sein kann. Die Dame, die den Laden führt ist sehr nett und herzlich, aber auch sehr langsam... die Sympatie dieses Menschen macht es aber auch eigentlich egal, ob sie langsam oder schnell ist. Vielleicht komme ich mal wieder... Ich bin wiedergekommen. Alles war super und sogar schneller. Gerne wieder und dann nochmal wieder...

We do understand, however, that the establishment, by virtue of its location (Germany), has to cater to the western European palate.We requested real punjabi-spiced dishes, and were informed that they would do their utmost to accommodate us, which they did!
