Wonderful location by the water. Cozy vaulted restaurant with individual glass houses/winter gardens (heated) directly on the wooden planks. Warm, unobtrusive but attentive service (we were able to move outside as soon as it became available). Food was fantastic for us: salmon with avocado cream and vitello tonnato as a starter, seasoned with herbs, both very tasty. Main course spaghetti vongole and gnocci with porcini mushroom filling, both on point. We simply enjoyed it and really enjoyed it!!! Planned for the next visit to Hamburg.

We were here for dinner for two today. Only inside in a kind of vault but very beautiful. Then outside by the river in the pavilion. Very nice place and food was very good. The service in particular was extremely friendly

Very nice location. But most of the staff just stood around. And they didn't see you even if you waved. The bosses greeted everyone but failed to take orders. Food was good, although not great for the price. It took half an hour before we could take the order. Main course again as long as we asked! And the staff came to the table at least three times with drinks and food, asking if it was for us?!? For the price I expect something different. Starters were very nicely prepared

Yesterday we were at Investor 1870. Unfortunately, the food was below average. The noodles were very bland and didn't live up to the price. The beef tartare was fresh but I have eaten much better and more delicious dishes. The ambience was really nice, the service was very nice and accommodating. But it was a birthday, which was stated on the reservation and my daughter also mentioned it. I would have been very happy about a tiny little something. But what annoyed me most was that it was written on the website that there was a minimum consumption of €50 per person. A note at the entrance or verbally would have been very nice. So we spent €250 plus tips with 5 people. I find that very steep and doesn't do the food justice in any way. But ultimately my problem is if you just make a reservation without asking. In any case, we won't visit the restaurant again, there are better restaurants in Hamburg

We were there during the week and were seated in the glass house. The ambiance is really great, the service was excellent. The food was good and suited us. The price is certainly a bit high if you consider just the food. But the overall package, with the ambiance by the water, in one of the beautiful glass houses, is completely justified. We'd love to come back.

The food was fantastic, the service very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is fantastic, right on the canal, and these glass huts are highly recommended, with heating if needed. The price/performance ratio is excellent; you'll pay an average of €20-40 for a meal. We'll be back; it was a lovely evening.

We had to cancel our reservation less than 24 hours in advance due to illness and had to pay a €50 per person cancellation fee! I think it's outrageous to charge such high cancellation fees.

Awesome location, great music, very friendly staff... Food portions are relatively small, but very tasty, but also very expensive.

Great food, nice service at the beginning, but it became very unfriendly towards the end because the tip probably wasn't right. It's a shame - we won't be coming back for that reason.

We were initially seated in the glass houses. After about 10 minutes, we had to move because we'd been taken to the wrong table. Unfortunately, the food was extremely disappointing. The price bears no relation to the food served, neither in terms of quality, quantity, nor presentation. The server was very friendly. €100 for bad pasta and two drinks...

Today we spent our 'anniversary' at Investor 1870. The ambience when we came in was very nice, very romantic and the table was already neatly set. The service was comprehensive and exceptionally good throughout the entire evening we cared. We ate a starter, a main course and a dessert each. There was also water and the very tasty house wine. At no point did we have to wait for the next dish to be served. The food was also very tasty. The portions also filled us up. Thank you! We'll come back when we want to raid our piggy bank again :P But the food was worth every cent!

A simply excellent restaurant! While passing through Hamburg, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The setting is idyllic and warm. The dishes are very tasty and plentiful. So I was really looking forward to the restaurant. The ambience was very nice. Unfortunately, we came to the conclusion that the price was too high for the food sold... The seasoning was completely missing... the starter (Brushetta) was so thick with a cream and things from a jar... Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing! The service was great

We had dinner here a few days ago. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio here is not right at all. Positive things first: The service from the employees is very friendly and accommodating. But that's all. Now for our criticism: If you order the most expensive dish on the menu (fillet steak) for €55, then everything on the plate has to be right. The meat was really tough, the jus was rather bland and the puree was totally boring. Not even tasty. We also complained about that, especially the meat, and the only thing the owner of the shop could think of was to say “We can remake it, but it’ll just take a while”… like that. It doesn't take long to fry a fillet steak medium rare. We come from the catering industry ourselves. So the impression arose that they didn't want to provide a replacement here. I said: everything is fine. And I thought to myself: I'll never eat here again! In addition, it is far too cold in the restaurant. You almost have to keep your jacket on because the door is constantly opening and closing to entertain guests outside. Too bad! In the end we had a bill of €160 and went home dissatisfied and disappointed.

That was super worth it. The waiters were really nice and friendly, also the food is was delicious. We had the truffle pasta and the liver. Okay maybe there are few places that make better pasta but the liver was 10out of 10. Very warm when outside was -2 with a beautiful view. its a unique experience overall

One of the best Italian restaurants in Hamburg

Hello, four of us were guests here for the first time. The ambience was great, location and appearance. The service was relatively good, but could be improved. Now about the food, and especially the price/performance ratio. I have to say that unfortunately it wasn't tasty and it was extremely expensive! Over €50 for a minni steak, pasta with scampie over €30, etc... Almost €300 for four people....great ambience but paid way too high. I haven't had enough yet. Sorry, but we won't be coming back! P.S. As an Italian restaurant you should be able to offer pizza, right? Conclusion from us - not recommended.

I can't say enough good things about the Investor 1870 Restaurant! My visit there was a real taste experience. Every dish we tried was to die for - the flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation of the food was a real feast for the eyes. It's obvious that the cooking here is done with a lot of love and passion! The service was another highlight of our evening. The team were incredibly friendly, attentive and made us feel truly welcome. You can tell that the employees love their job and care about the well-being of the guests. We had the pleasure of sitting in the glass houses and it was just magical! It was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal and spend the evening. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant Investor 1870! It was an unforgettable experience and I can't wait to come back soon. Thank you for this wonderful evening!

The food? A dream! Wonderful Italian cuisine with great attention to detail. The waiters are not only attentive, but also incredibly competent. An all-round special evening – we will definitely be back!

We sat directly on the Alster and had a beautiful glass house just for the two of us. The really tasty and special food and the great service rounded off the overall impression. I am very grateful to have this restaurant in Hamburg. Absolutely recommended.

Beautiful experience for special moments! Highly priced, as expected, but the ambience and the good food are also of high quality! We were there in winter and sat in a private glass hut with a hot fan and beautiful decorations.

Not what it used to be two years ago. There were five of us there at the time and we ate our fill for 250 euros. Today we got just under 450 measly food for six people. 40 for a piece of salmon without any side dishes. On top of that, almost thrown out was probably only reserved for two hours (which we didn't know). They could have at least let us sit until we were picked up. Incredible! Never again! In addition, four other houses were still empty.

Das Restaurant war ungewöhnlich leer. Wir haben einen Tisch innen gebucht, da wir bei den Aussentemperaturen von unter Null nicht riskieren wollten draussen im Glashaus zu sitzen. Durch das bedienen der Glashäuser wurde die Tür ständig geöffnet, was zur Kälte und einen ständigen Zug im Restaurant führte. Das Personal war super.

The second time here and it was wonderful again, the food tastes good and the atmosphere is right. Service was great, you didn't feel forgotten. Were again in one of the glass houses, as a tip long trousers and no free ankles 😂 But that is personal responsibility. The food was super tasty and everything was perfect.
