Ankara Kebap Tantuni in Hamburg

I've been going there regularly for three years, but unfortunately, the quality continues to decline each time. The biggest problem is that the portions have gotten smaller while the prices have increased. Given the economic situation, price increases are understandable, but reducing portions at the same time is really not right. Secondly, the staff constantly seem dissatisfied, listless, and unmotivated. They work very slowly, orders aren't taken properly, and what you say is simply ignored—instead, they send you whatever they want. I've left disappointed every time I've visited, so I've decided to stop going there.

Honestly, I've been a customer here for years, and I understand everyone's general financial situation, but how can you raise prices and halve the price of meat at Tanuni at the same time? I'm sorry, but you're unfortunately on the verge of not reaching 50, even though you've been here for 48 years.

We ordered tantuni. The bread was spoiled. I asked for it to be replaced, but it was the same as before. The worst tantuni I've ever had; I couldn't even eat one bite. The owners are also extremely indifferent. This place is a waste of time and money.

A woman at the cooking counter is trying to keep up with everything on her own. The food is delicious, but the staff is fed up. The business needs to do something to ensure customer satisfaction.

It takes hours to be served. Unfriendly service. Zero customer service.

The lamb skewer was incredibly good, as was the Adana kebab. However, the tantuni wasn't as satisfying. I would definitely recommend this place!

They've been completely overwhelmed lately. Ordering by phone doesn't work. You order, arrive 20 minutes later, and they don't know anything. It's a shame, I loved eating there.

It is preferred by passengers because it is close to the central train station and almost opposite the Central Mosque. However, there is zero service, no craftsmanship, no respect. Also, it is not clear what meat it is. Especially for Muslims, it is not clear whether it is Halal or not. You regret asking anything about the food. The men snub you in such a way. They tell you not to ask any more questions and to eat or not to eat. After all, there are many customers. In short, I don't recommend it at all. I think it's better to buy dry bread from the market and eat it.

The employee there is disrespectful and has no cooking experience. I've been to the restaurant three times. The first two times, I had problems with the customer, and the third time, she had problems with me because she's clueless, inexperienced, and a terrible cook. I wish I could choose a better employee than her.

I've only been there once. I ate a liver skewer, and it was so dry it almost stuck in my throat. Maybe that was just an exception. Hopefully, it's better normally. You can eat outside, the opening hours are very extended, and the place is popular with its neighbors. That's my impression.

This is a place I definitely stop by every time I come to Hamburg from Turkey, their tantuni and fish are delicious, many thanks to Chef Zeki and his team.

I was a customer for years and it used to be really good, but unfortunately it's gone bad for a while now. The food doesn't taste good anymore. The store smells like something's rotten! I've had diarrhea for three days!

Unfortunately, our visit today was very disappointing. We waited over 45 minutes for our food, even though we had already ordered. After we informed the waiter that we had been waiting for a long time, our request was acknowledged, but nothing changed. Instead, other guests who had arrived significantly later than us continued to be served and served their food – while we continued to be ignored. This kind of treatment of guests is absolutely unacceptable. A simple update or apology would have helped, but even that didn't come. It's a shame – we were looking forward to a pleasant visit, but we were bitterly disappointed. Of course, we still had to pay for the drinks.

I absolutely loved my visit to Tantuni Restaurant! My tantuni was incredibly juicy, perfectly seasoned and freshly made. I would particularly like to highlight the super nice lady in service – she was very warm and attentive. You immediately feel welcome. All around a great experience – I’ll definitely be back! 🥰

Unfortunately, I went to their place and their food was very disgusting because I noticed in their restaurant that a female worker was removing peppers from customers’ plates to eat, washing them and using them again for new customers. The same thing applies to sours and bread. They do not care about the health of their customers, which is very disgusting.

Liver skewers of lamb in an extra-thin yufka bread with salad. Without cocktail sauces and other nonsense. The fact that something like this still exists today and is still affordable is nothing short of a miracle. All stars!

The food was very tasty, but the lady behind the counter was more than unfriendly and also wore the same gloves that she used to prepare the food during her smoking break and when changing cash. Afterwards I lost my appetite, that's really not possible!

It's a place we heard about upon recommendation and decided to go in and try it even though we were full while passing by. We waited outside because it was small and smelled like food. We waited a bit because it was crowded, but it was definitely worth it. Adana wrap was very delicious. IT WAS A LEGEND. It was very close to the flavors in Turkey. Tomatoes and parsley were on point and good. We went again the following week. We opened it this time 😂

Small portion for a small price. I regularly eat at Ankara Tantuni, the portions here are small but big enough to fill you up and are particularly tasty and fresh. The lack of space in the store is annoying - you usually sit pretty tight (if you can get a free seat). What's also a bit annoying is how slowly the employees work. You often wait over half an hour for the food, especially if you order with several people, it can take a really long time. The shop was often packed and the pace behind the counter was the same as when there was only one open order, so people like to take their time here. As long as the food is good I can ignore it. When it comes to eating, I have to say that it is not advisable to eat sweets such as baklava etc. as they are not really tasty. Funnily enough, the Tantuni is also rather mediocre even though it is a Tantuni store. The rest of the kebab dishes taste really delicious! The Adana skewer and chicken skewer are particularly special. The chicken soup is also quite good. And offal like heart, kidney and liver are also great (they just need a little more seasoning). Price performance here is top you really can't complain about the prices. Conclusion: if you want to eat delicious meat alone or as a couple during the week where there is not much going on and you don't care about the surroundings, the shop is the spot. I'd love to go there.

Sorry, unfortunately this shop has been dismantled with 3 men there, the food comes irregularly, the meat is thin as paper, it's a shame that people prefer their compatriots. Preferably 0 stars last time I was there

For €4.5 you get 3cm bread with 20g meat. Bad service. You shouldn't assume that the customer is king here. Was there twice, the first time the billing was wrong (realized too late) and the second time it was such an experience. Bad!

Very small shop where you have to queue in the evening. Although everything is freshly prepared, I was extremely disappointed with the size of the shawarma (large!) for €6.50. Never had such a small shawarma before. Through the grill and apparently not. If the ventilation doesn't work, it's mostly foggy here due to the smoke. That's probably why many guests prefer to wait outside. Hygiene? Not available, because money and food are handled with the same gloves.

Unfortunately, I discovered that people here often receive preferential treatment - they get their food first, even if they arrive later, and not just once. When I mentioned this, the owner insulted me in Turkish (which my friend unfortunately only told me later). I even gave her a tip, which she then cheekily snatched out of my hand without even saying 'thank you' or 'bye'. Disrespectful and rude – I will definitely not leave any more money here!

I ate a Tantuni there once. When I took a bite, I bit into something hard and hurt my tooth. When I took the solid out of my mouth, I was holding a staple. I mentioned this and they apologized reluctantly and said that it had happened when the goods were unpacked and that something like that could happen. Finally, as a courtesy, when I asked what I owed, I expected them to say it was on the house. They actually said that I should give what I think is right. I gave 5 euros and walked out without comment. Never again!!!!

I ordered Tantuni here and the taste was relatively good, although compared to the ones in Turkey, not that great :) If you want to try something different or missed eating tantuni, I can recommend this place.

The food is prepared fresh and delicious! The food, whether Adana, the legendary Tantuni or others, is always something special and very tasty. Great store and great recommendation. We were in Hamburg for 4 days and I was there for 4 days, it was always very crowded. But you get your food within 5 minutes.

We had ordered and there were 2 customers in front of us. Our own compatriots kept coming in after us and were immediately given their food. We were left sitting for 30 minutes and when after 30 minutes two compatriots came in again and were only given a sample of food within 1 minute and then served their food within 3 minutes, we were out gone. Nobody has to be taken for a ride!! Disrespectful

We happened to be there just in time to break the fast and it was - as usual - well attended, but there was also a lot of activity outside. Traditionally, there was a delicious free soup, bread, dates and mineral water for everyone. Even we were offered it - since we don't fast, we politely declined. What was noticeable was how closely everyone followed the rules and really paid attention to the second not to break their fast too early. We started talking and listened with interest to a short Ramadan crash course. The food, whether Adana, the legendary Tantuni or something else, is always something special, very tasty and, above all, prepared from the heart in a family business. Thank you for this little culinary and cultural journey. We had 2 large Tantuni and 2 Adana plus a side dish and Ayran.

This is my favorite shop. I have known the owner for 40 years. Really tasty and the employees are nice and polite. Sometimes full but still a great atmosphere. In summer you can also eat outside the door. During Ramadan, the owner has a great tradition that I highly praise. Those in need can come to eat there and pay nothing. The man and his sons are not only good at cooking but also have a noble character for helping those in need. Adana Dürüm is my favorite dish there. Nowhere is it as delicious as here. Highly recommended.

Very nice and small Tantuni shop have been coming here for over 15 years not only the Tantuni wraps are awesome but also the homemade skewers are first class and super tasty everyone who is ever in Hamburg or lives in Hamburg should have eaten there and you you will be amazed and go back again and again

The place is too small, not enough places to sit, the staff is too busy to listen to customers, and even though we changed our order before it started preparing, we still received what we originally ordered instead. The food felt dry.

Don't be put off by the narrowness and the somewhat shabby-looking furniture. The prices are unbeatable (€4 for Mercimek, €6 for Dürüm with skewered meat, €8-9 for a plate with 2-3 skewers, salad and bread) and the food is delicious. There are also skewers with lamb liver and kidneys, not exactly available everywhere in HH. St. Georg has really been a house number for 45 years 👍👍👍

Ich bin auf Empfehlung eines Freundes hier essen gegangen und wurde vollkommen überzeugt. Schöne Grillaromen an den Spießen, saftiges und aromatisches Tantuni und klassisch dargereichte Dürüms, diese sind nicht mit Eisbergsalat und co vollgestopft sondern stellen die Qualität des Produktes und den Geschmack des Fleischs in den Vordergrund durch dezente Unterstützung von Zwiebel, Tomate und Petersilie. Der Laden war als wir da waren, dauerhaft gut besucht, also scheint die Qualität nicht nur mich zu überzeugen.

Ich war vor Ort hatte vier bestellt wollten mit Freunde essen Bestellung wurde angenommen und daraufhin wurde nur die Hälfte gebracht. Hatte ihn höflich daraufhin angesprochen wo das andere Essen bleibt meinte er das es noch dauern wurde da er noch nicht angefangen hat und er mir meint das er alles ab arbeitet und ich gesehen habe das er denn Zettel übersprungen ist leider werde ich den Laden nicht mehr betreten und somit woanders gehen schade aber mit so einem Unprofessionalen Mitarbeiter wird der Laden kein guten Ruf bekommen !
