Relax at the bar with a drink or sit comfortably inside or outside with friends and have a pleasant chat.

A guest isn't really interested in the time in minutes they wait for a drink. Likewise, they aren't responsible for staff mismanagement. You can communicate this to a paying customer in a completely unprofessional tone, but it's tactically unwise. In short, this was my first and last visit. The colleague who runs around the place thinking he's running the Hofbräuhaus during peak hours desperately needs training. Or retraining. The food was partly okay. The ambiance too. I can't comment on the drinks; unfortunately, they didn't ask me if I needed anything else. Why should they? I was out of food after the performance, so I didn't need anything. By the way, we got something to drink at the liquor store across the street, AND the gentleman even had something left for the child. The service was a complete disaster.

We celebrated our wedding Anniversary at Anders Cafe recently, it was a very splendid and sweet experience. The staff at the cafe was very helpful, nice and courteous🥰

Nice atmosphere, delicious food

A breakfast experience that went differently than expected. The five of us spontaneously wanted to have a leisurely breakfast on a Sunday and looked for an option on Google. The ANDERS website was modern and the dishes on the digital menu also appealed to us. We then decided on the DIFFERENT one. The service staff was young and we were happy to get a table as it seemed to be a bit busier on the weekend. Our drink order was received in a friendly manner and from that point on things went DIFFERENT. The drinks took so long that I briefly considered whether I should get them myself - from Brazil. Other guests who arrived after us were served much more quickly. Maybe they had VIP tickets, maybe they were just lucky. Although the service often looked over our empty table, we lacked hospitality and gastronomic know-how. After 30 minutes of waiting, we thought for a moment whether we had landed on the hidden camera. However, this was not the case. When something finally landed on the table - no, not the drinks, but also a few ants, it was clear: everyone is really welcome here. After 45 minutes of waiting, we received our long-awaited hot drinks. A few minutes later, breakfast too. Unfortunately the portions were smaller than my patience. Overall, an experience that did not satisfy our morning hunger and we will decide differently next time.

Very tasty dishes and super friendly staff

Everything was great, great service, great selection of food and drinks, prices very ok. Everything freshly prepared. Stylish and feel-good atmosphere.

Very, very cool restaurant with great seating in the sun and in the heart of the city! Love to grab a bite to eat there or enjoy the sun with a coffee and a book! Food: More expensive, but super tasty and creative and fresh! The portions are sufficiently large and the food selection is limited, but still very broad and light (: Drinks: great selection! Whether coffee, aperitif, Sarti or lemonades! Service: fast, professional, friendly! Card payment is no problem!

Modern hipster cafe for the eco/muesli group. Strange drinks and food options, but tastes are different. Ambiance: You sit like a hen on a perch on high chairs that I only knew as baby chairs. Conclusion: Probably only recommended for people under 25.

All in all, a very nice and friendly team! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We'd love to come back :)

Great ambience, nice service, good food

We are quite disappointed with this place. We made a reservation for my birthday, but since we got there a little later due to a demonstration in the city and traffic problems, the staff was passive aggressive about the arrival time. However, when we made the reservation, we were not told that the reservation would only be valid for exactly 15 minutes (we were 17 minutes late). Then they suggested another table with a very uncomfortable environment, too narrow and with too many people in the same room. So we left. Disappointing.

We held our last Christmas party at ANDERS.Cafe. We were very enthusiastic about the service as part of the organization. Sebastian's friendly manner made the preliminary arrangements for our team event pleasantly uncomplicated. The large proportion of vegetarians and vegans in our company did not pose a hurdle for the ANDERS.Cafe when planning the Christmas menu. The very lovingly put together table buffet suggestions could easily be expanded to include a few meat-free/vegan options, so that everyone was happy with the menu selection. The food was highly praised at the celebration and even in retrospect we often hear that this was the team event with the tastiest menu. Many thanks to the entire ANDERS team! You made our Christmas party a very special day. We'd love to come back! :)

We were visiting Jena over the weekend and were looking for a place to have breakfast on Sundays. Anders was recommended to us and we were more than satisfied! The Anders offers a good selection of breakfast and drinks. Whether it's a "classic" breakfast or something more "unusual", everyone will find what they're looking for here. The plates are beautifully and attractively arranged and the glasses are also beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the location itself is also very nice. Hopefully the Anders will still be open on our next visit to Jena, because we will definitely be back!

Essen ist und Ambiente ist wirklich super, ABER der Service etwas durcheinander und dass Getränke (Bier) länger dauern, als das Essen ist nicht zu verstehen. Wir hätten gerne mehr getrunken aber 15 Minuten auf nen Bier warten bei normaler Frequentierung ist einfach zu lange.

Very good food. Just a little “different”. Even though it is more expensive than some restaurants in the neighborhood, we think the price-performance ratio is good. We'll be back.

The food was really delicious. But the highlights were others. Got a table on Saturday with a lot of swapping (6:00 p.m.). The bartender saw the thirst and poured a beer in front of the table. Then the recommendation from the staff BBQ of the beef brisket. The hammer. With a staff like that you are on the right track. We'll come by now and then. Thank you

Hello! To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about the food at first. I'm more of a type for well-known dishes, especially schnitzel. The chef (on the evening of January 15, 2025) was very ambitious and my chicken curry was excellent. Really very well seasoned and put together. Then a crème brûlée, which was anything but run-of-the-mill. All in all, a truly outstanding taste experience! Best regards!

Weekdays, 9:15 a.m. The café is still empty except for one table. The welcome is reserved and friendly. We are assigned a table, which I find a bit strange given the number of free tables. The waiter then waits a while and brings the menu, which includes an international spectrum of dishes. We opt for a French breakfast for €7.50, consisting of a fluffy baguette, a small bowl of strawberry jam, a coffee and a bowl of butter. When it comes to the butter, I doubt whether it really is butter in the traditional sense, because to my tongue it tastes like hydrogenated palm fat, snow-white and greasy. But that is of course a matter of taste. Conclusion: you can do it for a small breakfast, but you don't have to.

We had reserved a table for two on Friday evening (2nd Advent weekend). At first the drinks, food and service were excellent, but as time went on the service deteriorated, i.e. we sat there for a good hour and a half with our last drink ordered, every attempt to draw attention to us was skillfully ignored, when they finally came back to us again We stopped by and asked for the bill and left. What really stands out positively is the quality of the food.

Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our breakfast. After we asked an hour after ordering whether we could at least get our coffee, all we got back was a flippant answer from the waitress. The food was ultimately good, but due to the rude and extremely annoyed service, coupled with the extremely long waiting time, I would rather choose another restaurant in the future.

Went there with colleagues and reserved tables in advance. Waitress asks for drinks, everyone has placed their orders. Then the 4 waiters were busy pouring 8 beers and making 3 cocktails for more than 30 minutes. Service is therefore at least overwhelmed. The Christmas menu (specified by the restaurant) was varied and quite tasty. "Sushi" is a rather misleading name for a rice roll with carrots and mayo.

Very nice restaurant in Jena. During the week there is a lunch special that is always a bit different. I'm now getting full from the portions and that's why I can now give it full stars. The coffee is also very tasty, although in the upper price segment for Jena. The cake is also recommended! Modern and nice interior and pleasant relaxed atmosphere.

If you want to go there for breakfast on the weekend: a definite no. Apparently absolutely understaffed. 20 minutes until you are served. Then only half the table has to be taken care of and only after repeated requests does the rest. The rolls are rock hard, the food isn't complete, and you then wait another 20 minutes until the rest comes, although of course it's a slightly different meal if you can't eat certain combinations because you're waiting. But ok, mistakes happen. But no apology, let alone compensation. As I said, of course there is more going on on Sunday morning, but you have to expect that and hire more staff, you also make more sales. As a guest you just feel ripped off. The food, which was otherwise delicious but so much of a nuisance, would have to make up for excellent food, and unfortunately it really isn't...

A real highlight for breakfast lovers! Café Anders impresses with fresh, crispy rolls from the stone oven that are simply irresistible. I was particularly impressed by the “Montreal” avocado slices with salmon – perfectly balanced and a real treat. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is friendly and attentive. Definitely a place I can recommend. I'd love to come back!

Great, delicious food with good service.

Das Lokal war nicht allzu voll. Wir waren eine Gruppe von ca. 20 Personen und ein a la carte Essen sei nicht möglich. (Also am Vortag in einem anderen Lokal ohne Probleme, aber hier ist alles anders) Also mussten wir ein teures Tischmenü nehmen. Eigentlich eine nette Idee, nur war es den meisten zu viel; egal - Gruppenzwang. Freundlich war der Empfang schon. Der Hinweis auf Allergien gegen Haselnuss und Rucola wurde teilweise beachtet. Die kleine Vorspeisensuppe war noch heiß, der Vorspeisensalat noch lecker (hier gab es eine Portion ohne Rucola). Nach über einer Stunde im Lokal gab es dann auch das Essen: Sauerbraten, Roulade und Wirsingkohl-Roulade mit Knödel und Rotkohl / Rosenkohl und Möhren. ES WAR ALLES KALT. Und froh überhaupt etwas auf den Teller zu bekommen waren wir auch: Zunächst gab es für 7 Personen an unserem Tisch 4 halbe Rouladen und 4 halbe Stücke Sauerbraten. „Das müsse schon reichen“ wurde uns erwidert - dann wurde doch noch etwas nachgeliefert - AUCH KALT. Zudem war das Fleisch hart. Der Rosenkohl war wenigstens bissfest, die Möhren aber verkocht und die Klöße wässrig. Der Nachtisch (nach über 2 Stunden im Lokal) mit Stücken von Apfelstrudel mit dünnflüssiger Vanillesoße und Stücken von Brownies war ganz nett, aber hat das Ganze nicht mehr gerettet. Nach dem Nachtisch dann schnell weg… Für den Preis war unser Tisch sehr sehr enttäuscht und wir werden nicht wieder kommen (und es auch nicht empfehlen)

Schönes Restaurant. Freundlicher Service. Das Essen, Chicken Curry mit Blumenkohlwings, fanden wir leider nicht so gut. Es war fad, wenig gewürzt. Zudem würden wir uns wünschen dass in der Speisekarte der Hauptbestandteil des Currys, nämlich Linsen, Erwähnung findet.

It was really great with you. Spontaneously came for breakfast and had extremely tasty food. Had 2 breads, one with egg Benedict, avocado cream, salmon and a herb cream, one with bacon. Both on point, crispy, fresh, very, very tasty. And we indulged in a sumptuous scrambled egg. The children each had the pancakes, also great. Service was very attentive, friendly and kind to the children and always there. We would love to come back!

Leider haben wir ( 2 Personen) trotz Reservierung einen schlechten Tisch erwischt. Einen Hochtisch mit 2 Barhocker in einer Ecke. Ich bin mit 1,58m kaum auf den Stuhl gekommen. Es war sehr eng und laut. Der Service war sehr freundlich und gut. Essen war auch gut. Weine zu teuer.

Schönes Restaurant in einer sehr beliebten und belebten Gasse in Jena. Drinnen und draußen gibt es gemütliche Nischen zum sitzen und ungestört unterhalten. Speisen und Getränke sehr lecker und teilweise sehr ausgefallen, halt einfach mal was „Anders“ ;), aber genau deswegen bin ich dort nochmal hin, um es meinen Freundinnen zu zeigen! Wir freuen uns aufs nächste Mal!

One of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. We waited a very long time for two breakfasts. I ordered avocado with feta and when breakfast arrived the egg was hard boiled instead of poached. I asked and they changed the egg after 10 minutes but brought me a plate of soggy bread as the plate was water. The salad had no dressing and the egg smelled unpleasant.

Maybe we had a bad day, but employees were unfriendly and the food was missing ingredients listed on the menu. These were submitted later, but there was no apology.

Werden leider nicht mehr dort essen. Erst war alles schön und zuvorkommend. Eine Bestellung war dann nicht richtig. Es hieß erst von der Bedienung, ich hätte das aber auf jeden Fall so bestellt, doch es wäre kein Problem, es geht aufs Haus. Mein Freund hat mir beigepflichtet, er hat auch gehört, dass ich was anderes bestellt habe. Am Ende hat man es doch abkassiert. Es ärgerte uns masslos und hat uns den Abend versaut. Man fühlt sich echt verarscht.

We went to this establishment for brunch on a Sunday because the ambience was very appealing. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed. - It took 15 minutes for the drinks to be ordered... that's still OK... but not so nice - an hour passed until the food arrived. We ordered the breakfast burger without avocado cream and then after an hour the burger with avocado arrived...doubly disappointed. Then it was time to wait again - we also had the “French breakfast” 1 croissant with a small bowl of butter and a small bowl of jam for €8!!! We think the price is really steep. Since it was very carelessly prepared and there wasn't even a little fruit accompaniment (that also took an hour to arrive...) - the waiter was a bit too confident in his demeanor... -The pancakes were delicious In terms of taste, everything was good, but I didn't find anything above average or outstanding All in all we were really disappointed. Price-performance ratio wasn't right.

Das Essen war einfach nur lecker und schön angerichtet. Das ganze Feeling war toll und man hat sich gleich wohlgefühlt.

Im Vorhinein online reserviert, lief problemlos. Auf Wünsche wurden eingegangen, toller aufmerksamer Service. Das Frühstücksangebot ist einmalig und absolut zu empfehlen. Caramel Macchiato richtig lecker.

Great restaurant. Were in Jena again a few months ago. Had reserved breakfast there on Sunday. The atmosphere was great (we were outdoors), the staff was very friendly and quick and the breakfast was just great.

We held our wedding reception there based on a recommendation and we were all thrilled. Especially since we had the upper floor just for ourselves and were even able to bring a cake and desserts from another shop. These were even served to us lovingly. We were allowed to choose a menu in advance with a starter, main course and dessert. Everything was fresh and very tasty. In the end, we are absolutely thrilled and can only recommend everyone to eat there or have a party there. Would love to come back.

Service is great, they take great care. The food was a little different but delicious. Worth a visit again at any time.

I thought the food was okay but unfortunately not as expected. The brisket had some large pieces of fat on it and was also really small. The advertised BBQ sauce tasted more like a gravy. The coleslaw consisted only of red cabbage and mayonaise. The fries were cold. The miso mayo only tasted like soy sauce and was barely edible. It's a shame - and that for the price. The service was nice, but all in all it took a really long time (15 minutes for the first drinks alone, and just over an hour for the food). We probably won't come back.

Hab für meinen Geburtstag einen Tisch für 10:30 reserviert, um im Cafe Anders zu frühstücken. Erstmal vorweg, das Essen war fantastisch und wunderschön angerichtet. Allerdings weiß ich nicht was mit dem “Humor” des Personals an dem Tag loswar. Wenn man reserviert, bekommt man die Information, dass erst wenn man mehr als 10 Minuten zu spät kommt Bescheid sagen muss. 10:36 waren wir dann da, ich sagte auf welchen Namen ich reserviert habe und dass wir ein bisschen zu spät sind. Patzig meinte der Mitarbeiter “ein bisschen?!” Und als ich sagte “naja 5 Minuten” meinte er “6!”. War vlt sein Humor aber ich fands absolut unangenehm und habe überlegt auf dem Absatz kehrt zu machen und woanders hinzugehen, weil ich mir das als Gast an meinem freien Tag und an meinem Geburtstag nicht brauche, mir so einen Stress zu geben. Kann man drüber hinwegsehen aber als die andere Mitarbeiterin dann auch nochmal einen Witz über das zu spät kommen gemacht hat hats mir gereicht und es fiel mir schwer meinen Besuch zu geniessen. Ich selber habe eine 48 Stunden Woche bei der ich mich um Menschen kümmere, ich möchte wenn ich dann mal frei habe, in Ruhe frühstücken und mir nicht 2 mal Sprüche drüber anhören dass wir 6!! Minuten zu spät waren. Das war wirklich total überflüssig und unangenehm und hat meinen ganzen Aufenthalt dort gestört. Falls das einfach der “Humor” war sollte man vlt trotzdem überlegen wie es für die Gäste rüberkommt, und wo die Grenze ist. Ich kam nicht zum Bewerbungsgespräch sondern zum Frühstück, wirklich. Das hab ich in keinem anderen Restaurant je erleb. Ich hasse Renzensionen schreiben aber das war gestern echt doof. Vlt kann man das mal reflektieren und beim nächsten mal ein bisschen weniger Witze machen die den Kunden unwohl fühlen lassen… War schade.
