I can confirm the reviews that were satisfied with the taste, but complained about the small portions (burrata, vitello tonnato). The homemade dessert, on the other hand, was great and sufficient in quantity. And I have never come across an Italian restaurant in Berlin that doesn't offer schnapps on the house! We found value for money to be rather poor. We used to like the restaurant much better. Mehringdamm is now hip, tourists are coming and business is just that way. Very unfortunate.

Il cameriere piemontese (non gli abbiamo chiesto il nome, peccato) è stato davvero simpatico, professionale e gentilissimo nel rispondere alle domande di mio figlio sulla sua situazione di italiano a Berlino. Dimenticavo: il prezzo a pranzo è onestissimo e le porzioni abbondanti (pizza, due primi, due coca cola e un acqua: meno di 59€) Consigliatissimo per chi ha nostalgia dei sapori italiani!

The atmosphere is wonderfully Italian. Amici Amici is located directly on Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg, unpretentious and with a pretty little terrace. We ate very well and were looked after with great attention. Good service has become rare and therefore even more valuable.

I would really like to give a better review. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is pleasant, the prices are fair and the location is very convenient for me. I have been a guest here again and again over the years. Unfortunately, there have been unpleasant incidents on my last three visits, so I no longer want to come here. 1) My partner at the time and I wanted to meet here for dinner after work. She unexpectedly finished earlier, went to the restaurant earlier, ordered and ate, but unfortunately I didn't make it until the agreed time. Several times during our visit I had to listen to people telling me how I could keep a pretty woman waiting for so long. If we had blocked a table for too long in a full restaurant, I could have easily understood a complaint about that (and only that). The restaurant was pretty empty that evening and had many free tables. I have a thick skin when it comes to inappropriate comments made against me. My partner found the comments really unpleasant and the evening was ruined. 2) Nevertheless, after a few weeks we gave the restaurant a second chance. My partner ordered pasta and got grated cheese with it. The waiter theatrically sprinkled it over the noodles. As the evening progressed, he came by several times and kept throwing more cheese onto her plate unexpectedly and without being asked. My partner is peace personified. I have never seen her so angry, she even complained. The waiter apologized profusely when he realized that his joke wasn't well received. In that sense: don't worry about this specific incident. Nevertheless, it spoiled the evening and my overall impression of the restaurant. 3) A few months later I reserved a table here again with my parents. Unfortunately, the restaurant recorded the reservation incorrectly, so there was no table available. The mistake was the restaurant's fault, which was clearly clarified and undisputed. We were told to stand at the bar and wait until a table became available. There was no space here either, guests and staff were constantly jostling or being shooed out of the way. We couldn't be told how long it would take before we could be accommodated. When I asked politely after 15 minutes, I was scolded harshly. After more than half an hour we finally got a table. Unfortunately, the mood had suffered at that point. Over the last few months I've been thinking about whether I should give the restaurant another chance. Taken individually, I don't think each of the three incidents was so bad that I would no longer visit the restaurant. All in all, after the last three visits, I no longer feel like it. Maybe the review will help get these problems under control. Then it would actually be a nice restaurant that I could recommend without reservation.

Hello, Yesterday, we visited your restaurant. We were looking for something Italian and quick before our evening program. I had spaghetti, and my friend had risotto. We were served by a nice young lady who was very kind and pleasant to look at. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about your food. The risotto was terrible and not good at all. It cost almost 18 euros, and on the plate, it looked like someone had, well... it was disgusting. My spaghetti was also not good. We ate something because we didn't have time and we were hungry. However, we didn't feel well in the evening. I didn't want to deal with it there because we are on vacation and I didn't want to ruin our evening. The Aperol was probably the best thing we had there. So please tell the chefs to improve because I haven't had such bad food in a long time. I give the food 1 star because, both in taste and appearance, you have a lot to learn. For service and atmosphere, I give 5 stars since the young lady and the other employees treated us nicely. Mark

Food, ambience and service A1. You really can't complain about anything. Central location, with outdoor area in summer, delicious pizza and pasta dishes. Best Italian restaurant in Berlin! Plus real traditional Italian cuisine.

Amici Amici is truly a wonderful restaurant. As soon as you enter, you notice the pleasant atmosphere and the lovingly designed furnishings. The waiters are friendly and authentic - you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. The food is a real highlight. Not only does it taste great, but it is also of the best quality. You can tell that a lot of emphasis is placed on fresh and high-quality ingredients here. Another great detail is the open kitchen. It's fun to watch the chefs prepare the dishes and experience the fresh ingredients directly on site. The restaurant's balcony is a little paradise. With its lush plants, it offers a green, relaxing oasis that makes the enjoyment of eating even more enjoyable. A little tip: On weekends or evenings it is advisable to reserve in advance as the restaurant fills up quickly. Overall, I highly recommend Amici Amici. It offers a perfect combination of great service, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere in the middle of Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Good food and the dishes are plentiful

Been coming here since it started as a small corner shop in 2006. I was at Amici Amici very regularly until 2015 because I lived in Berlin and now I live in Hamburg and come over occasionally. But I can truly say that almost every dish is perfect every time. It starts with the fact that the bread with a Sicilian welcome is super delicious. The pasta is always prepared al dente. The burata tastes good. The pizzas are classic. The Pecorino wine is super delicious. All of this at Berlin prices. In Hamburg, where I live, you can only dream of something like this in this location and price range. Renato's team is always authentic, typically Italian and the atmosphere at the infamous intersection in the really beautiful, historic house is fantastic. X-berg at its best. A must for me on my Berlin trip.

Stumbled on this place for an earley tea before the madness of the football quarter final Holland v turkey big bowl of penne Arabata washed down with a big beer. Waiters were very obliging and food tasty with a big portion

The food was rather average. The pasta was partly more hard than al dente and the rice in the risotto would have benefited from 5 more minutes (I know it's supposed to still have some bite but it was definitely too firm). Overall, the dishes lacked a bit of spice and character. The space outside on the far corner of the intersection was of course extremely loud, it's just our city 🙃 The ambience in the interior is very nicely designed, with warm colors and images. The service was friendly and attentive. If I came back, I would just sit inside and try the pizza, maybe that would work better.

You felt unwanted, tables were packed very tightly together, acoustics were impossible because the noise from Mehringdamm had to be drowned out first. The waiter formally urged you to order, not to choose anything in peace. Portions were ridiculously small and just a swoon-worthy snack at prices that were really exorbitant. BUT IT WAS VERY GOOD IN TASTE (the kitchen gets the star) the rest would be minus. It was never asked if anything else was wanted and plates/glasses were cleared away rudely and without eye contact (confirming that it was undesirable). It's amazing that a restaurant operator can afford something like that in today's times. Regular guests are not wanted or necessary for the business (cheers to tourism) NEVER AGAIN Answer: Friday We had a soup ladle of smooth "shrimp" risotto with 1 shrimp and this in two parts, half in the shell (impossible) for an impressive 18.90 euros and 8 beetroot gnocchi for 16.90, really utopian and both should pass as a starter and cost at most half as much. An expensive treat for an empty stomach.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Berlin, even before it was renovated and expanded.

We had lunch here on a Sunday. The food was quite good. The restaurant was very full, with all tables inside and outside being completely occupied, which overwhelmed the staff. We waited a long time to get drinks and then the food. Apart from that, the staff was friendly and tried their best. We sat outside by the street, which was extremely loud as the restaurant is located on the cross section of main roads. Police cars, cars horning, etc. tainted the atmosphere.

I was there yesterday and it was a wonderful atmosphere, right on Mehringdamm. The waiter came immediately, very courteous and personable. We ordered pizzas and we didn't have to wait long for them. You immediately notice that fresh products are used and are excellently prepared. I can only warmly recommend the Bresaoula Pizza!!

No hello, no goodbye. We brought the wrong things several times and aggressively asked what we wanted even though we had already ordered. Weird shop. I'm not so sure whether they even like people or are oversaturated and are now unloading their frustration on their customers. But it will definitely work with walk-in customers.

The staff seemed particularly attentive or friendly. We had to ask for our orders multiple times and it took a long time to even get any attention. The atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't particularly inviting either, which made the long wait even more frustrating. All in all, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. In addition to the slow service and unpleasant atmosphere, the quality of the food was also disappointing. The dishes were carelessly prepared and tasted bland and boring. It lacked freshness and the portions were rather small. For the price we paid we definitely expected more. All in all, visiting this restaurant was a disappointment and I would not recommend it.

I'm a typical "country bumpkin" and very enthusiastic! Top service, very accommodating. Pizza tastes great! Even the large crust without toppings is very tasty, great dough! We sat outside and it's basically a cinema at the big intersection :D great restaurant, looks authentic!

The Italian restaurant Amici Amici is located in the middle of the nightlife zone. We were lucky and spontaneously got a place outside. The Calamaretti with salad as a starter was superb, the Taglionlino Tartu had plenty of truffles. In addition to good food and good service, there is also a lot going on next to the table and around the street intersection. See and be seen. If you're lucky, you might even meet TV celebrities in the restaurant from time to time.

The food is amazing (we had the pizza). Very fresh, and real classic Italian pizza. The table covers and the light on the tables look a bit cheap and didn't really represent the classic Italian environment, that's the only reason I would prefer to give it 4.5 if I could.

I visited the restaurant twice and thought maybe the first time was an isolated incident, but I encountered the same waiter (short and southern looking) who displayed the same attitude and even increased his rudeness. My guest felt so uncomfortable that she started crying! He completely ruined our evening and we had to leave immediately. Unfortunately I have to say he has no respect for human decency! Save your time and go somewhere else! DEFINITELY AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!! Rude, unprofessional, and shameful! I have never experienced such arrogance, rudeness, and unprofessional behavior from a waiter before. I visited the establishment twice, thinking perhaps the first time was an isolated incident, but encountered the same waiter (short with a Mediterranean appearance) displaying the same attitude, and even doubling down on his rudeness. Pizza too small in size for my taste. Way too much dough that isn't topped. Most of the pizza is missing cheese. Hole in the tablecloth. Topping spread carelessly. No pepper on the table for steaks. There are also not enough side dishes for the steak dish. Nothing on the house when you go. Overall disappointing and not good value for money. It looked so cute from the outside but I won't look at it again from the inside for now.

the pizza is to die for and they sprinkle on some olive oil which really brings out the taste 10/10 pizza could not recommend more! the staff are incredibly lovely and they slice portion in the amici amici shop next door is perfect for on the go :)

Der klassische italienische Flair des Restaurants hat unseren Abend zu zweit romantisch und gemütlich gemacht. Wir wurden äußerst freundlich und professionell empfangen und die Atmosphäre war sehr nett, gewitzt und ein bisschen familiär. Die Pizza ist super lecker und schmeckt original italienisch. Der Salat hat leider nur aus Blattgrün und zwei traurigen halben Tomaten bestanden - für 7€ leider völlig überteuert. Leider wurde unsere Reservierung vergessen, sodass wir nicht an einem von uns extra gewünschten ruhigen Platz sitzen konnten - schade an einem runden Geburtstag. Für dieses Missgeschick hätten wir uns wenigstens über einen Grappa aufs Haus gefreut. Insgesamt können wir die Pizzeria trotzdem sehr empfehlen!

A friend and I called in for dinner on a Friday evening without a reservation. The place was very busy but the manager offered us seats at the bar. The service ( prompt and friendly) and food were excellent and great value. I would definitely recommend but would book in advance next time!

Italian approved!! I was in Berlin at the weekend and was looking for a good Italian restaurant near me. The food was excellent, authentic and the staff was very friendly. Pizza from the stone oven, homemade fresh bread and fantastic olive oil - you can get it all here. When asked, it was actually confirmed that a large part of the staff was Sicilian, which made me very happy as a Sardinian. The atmosphere was also nice, the store was full, that speaks for itself. Great recommendation!

A spontaneous visit late Saturday afternoon. Just caught the last table for two. Service was very accommodating and unhurried. The dishes were very tasty. Everything as it should be. We'll definitely visit them again.

A great address with really good cuisine. The only drawback, which is the case in many restaurants, is that it can get quite loud when they are busy. A good sign, because quality attracts a lot of people. It's just a shame, at least from my personal perspective, to have to deal with the somewhat louder environment. But maybe I'm too sensitive on this point. The guests were all very satisfied, as far as I can tell. Me too, for my part. Gladly again

Would have loved to give the place a better review, since the atmosphere nice and the food affordable and good. Unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes for an antipasti starter and another 60 minutes for two pasta dishes. When we mentioned it to the waiter she said they had a mess in the kitchen. We had the impression the whole team was extremely disorganized. We didn’t ask for and also didn’t receive any compensation. Sadly, we won’t be coming back here.

The service is absolutely gruesome, specially the young waitress. Not ONE smile, not friendly at all, walks of mid order. We left a 5ct tip just to leave a message. Food is good but would be better if the service wasn’t so german.

Wir hatten für 19:30 reserviert, bei Ankunft wurde uns beschieden, wir müssten bis 20 h warten bis der Tisch frei würde. Es wurde dann 20:15. Dann noch mal 10 min, bis uns nach mehrmaliger Nachfrage eine Speisekarte gebracht wurde. Eine halbe Stunde später bekamen wir die Getränke, das Essen kam um 21:30. Salat komplett ohne Dressing. Nudeln lecker. Espresso gut.

Ich mag das Amici Amici eigentlich sehr gerne. Seit einem halben Jahr wird einem allerdings das Leitungswasser verwehrt bzw. nur nach anstrengenden Diskussionen gewährt - was ich unmöglich finde, vor allem, wenn man es, wie ich, nur zur Weinbegleitung trinkt.

I’m only writing this review because the manager/owner(?) bullied us into paying a tip; regardless of the abhorrent service we received all night. If he hadn’t of done that I’d have never left a review. I don’t speak German, I’m aware that is frustrating, but when I entered into the venue only to be ignored by the manager as he charged past me and made physical contact. When he came back I asked if I can sit down, he gestured to a section of the restaurant and I walked over. I asked the bartender where is best for me to sit; he was rude and dismissive and flicked his hand at a waiter. I finally just sat at a dirty spare table. It took 20mins to be acknowledged and given menus. A third waiter came over and gruffly took my drink order but made it clear it was an imposition. The aperol spritz I ordered had barely any aperol and tasted more like aperol inspired soda water, regardless of the price. When we ordered wine we were told there was either a Chardonnay or a Nero d’ovla - nothing else (which is clearly not true). The food is the only good part of this venue. Tasty and well portioned and fresh. The pasta is well cooked and the sauces are very delicious. After having our wine delivered late and being ignored all meal (no offer of desserts) we asked for the bill. The initial manger informed us of the price and made a point to say ‘without tip’ then as we stood waiting to pay he finally says ‘we’ll? How much?’ We leave paying a tip and he fanes false platitudes for leaving a tip like we weren’t just expected to pay it and that he cared how we enjoyed the experience. Go for the food but don’t expect anything from the service and DON’T be a sucker like me and tip when told to.

Freunde unter Freunden - so könnte man den Namen des Restaurants übersetzen. Und so fühlt man sich auch sofort - selbst als erstmaliger Besucher an einem ganz gewöhnlichen Donnerstagabend. Sicher überwiegen die Pärchen und Familien, aber als Solist bekommt man seinen Platz ebenso freundlich zugewiesen - und dann geht's los! Hinterher denkt man: Das gute und Trinken Essen haben tatsächlich die Italiener erfunden.

Naja, eher was als schnelle Nummer und viel Tamtam. Qualität durchschnittlich, viel zu enge Bestuhlung usw.

Classico ristorante italiano all’estero: tanti richiami all’Italia e poca concretezza di ciò che realmente si mangia in Italia. Il cibo era abbastanza buono ma nulla di che. Prezzi esagerati per quanto riguarda la carne, pizza decente per essere all’estero.
