Amici Amici in Berlin

I’m Italian and I do not recommend this place. The staff is extremely rude, and I didn’t feel welcomed. It took more than 20 minutes to get two Cokes, and on top of that, the food isn’t even authentic. I do not recommend it!

Amishi visited Amishi Italian restaurant in the evening, we had dinner together on Pani and we ordered some pizza and some pasta, it really tasted so good and I have tasted Italian food for the first time in my life in Berlin, Germany which was very authentic and the food was delicious and again, I will visit with my friends and I will recommend it to all my friends who know it, if you want to taste any Italian food then please visit Ammi, it was really wonderful wonderful experience

I’m upset to share this experience because during my four month in Berlin I have visited this restaurant about once every week or twice a month. I usually sit on the balcony, but one cold day I sat inside near the kitchen. While eating my pizza I saw a small kitchen cockroach. The staff killed it quickly and I really tried to forget it, but then I saw another one walking on the ground. At that point I asked for the check. When the waiter asked if everything was okay, I just said “yes” to be polite and not to make a scene, and I even took my food to go for the same reason. But honestly, it was not okay. I am not a sensitive person. I never complain about service or small mistakes. But hygiene is a red line. This was a terrible experience and unfortunately I will not return to what used to be one of my favorite places.

The spaghetti carbonara is delicious, with plenty of Parmesan and real guanciale, no cream sauce. The pizza is also good. It's right on the main street, so it's quite noisy outside, but it's nicely decorated and the terrace upstairs is much quieter. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. There's no wine on the menu, but there are good house wines available.

Overall, a very good restaurant with great food. The ambiance is very pleasant, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. You can sit comfortably here during the day (it can get very crowded in the evenings). However, on our last visit, the pizzas were a bit burnt.

If we could, we'd give the service even more stars. We've rarely experienced such attentive, charming, and fast service. Top notch! The food was also delicious! We'll definitely go back when we're in Berlin again!

Pizza Salame Milano: okay, not crispy enough for my taste, so solid. The service was friendly, attentive, and visibly professional. The street ambiance—a choice of our own, mind you—may be authentic for tourists, but for a local, it's the usual annoying noise level of Kreuzberg. As I said: it's our own fault; there's seating inside, too! All in all, I expected a bit more from Amici Amici; perhaps the review would be more positive on a Sunday inside.

"Amici amici" is the perfect name for this restaurant, because that's how they make you feel—a friend—and as such, they treat you with respect and in the best possible way. The welcome is familiar but not excessive, the cuisine is surprising and hasn't adapted to the host country (to take it to the extreme, for example: no Kartoffeln in the amatriciana to make the Germans happy), but has retained its Italian essence. Every dish tastes of Italy, but of the kind that knows how to cook and showcase our territory in every single course, from pasta to fish, from burrata to meat. A restaurant that prides itself on Italy in Berlin, promoting Italian food with dishes worthy of a top-notch restaurant. Thank you, because I felt at home. I will return every time I come to Berlin.

Hands down the best pizza in Berlin. The crust is perfect, the ingredients are top quality, and the flavors are unforgettable. I highly recommend the Pizza Bronte (with pistachio cream and mortadella) and the Pizza Monteverna, both are next-level. Friendly staff and a great vibe. A must-visit!

We had an excellent first course (spaghetti with clams and a cacio e pepe). It's a shame we waited over an hour for it. The wine list was unreliable, and the waiter was empathetic. The wine was chilled on the spot by immersing it in an ice bucket.

The waiter of the restaurant first mentioned that the tip was expected, then shared a negative comment when we chose 5% saying "it's just a bit more than a euro" and then was very rude with us. Dear waiter, the tip is not mandatory in Germany and don't be surprised if you get low ones.

Good Italian restaurant by Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg serving pizza and pasta.

This place definitely doesn't adhere to the motto "The customer is king" – even the waiter himself confirmed this. I specifically asked for my pizza to be sliced, but my request was ignored. When I politely asked again, I was rudely told that there wasn't time. Instead of a solution, they started a discussion. Unfortunately, this was disappointing service for me.

I had a Pizza which tasted good but was way too soggy and greazy. The knife was dull so it was hard to cut trough the pizza. There was many flies and it was quite warm. It was annoying to sit next to the kitchen, because it was quite load. The Staff was annoyed when they were unclear which pizza was ready when we did not instantly remember our order, and then audibly sighed loud in my ear when he presented the pizza. Ok prize

Unfortunately, my visit to this restaurant was anything but pleasant. The staff seemed stressed and unfriendly—there was no smile to be found anywhere. When I asked for my pizza to be cut into eight slices, I was curtly told that there was "no time." A small request, which could have easily been accommodated with a minimum of service, was simply ignored. Overall, a disappointing experience—they clearly don't put the customer first. I would not recommend it.

Rude service, very unpleasant, the person serving guests after placing an order turned out to be a boor without manners and human reflexes ... lack of key products such as olive oil or any sauce. The toilet cries out to heaven for vengeance, no paper, towels. I advise visitors against it if they do not want to lose money and ruin their day.

Good to excellent cuisine, very good service, cozy atmosphere, slightly higher prices for Berlin, rather cheap compared to other countries. Very central location on the corner of Yorckstrasse and Mehringdamm. Overall, highly recommended. Maybe combine it with a visit to the Yorckkino, BKA or Mehringhof Theater...

We spontaneously stopped by Amici Amici today with four people, and despite the restaurant being busy, we were able to get a table. Service was spot-on, helpful, and friendly. We had spaghetti carbonara, pomodoro, and an antipasti plate, which could be prepared vegan upon request. All the dishes were delicious.

Essen war sehr lecker und Preis Leistung Verhältnis passte. Wir würden jederzeit wieder hier lecker essen gehen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl im Restaurant gefühlt. Der Chef wie auch die Mitarbeiter war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

It started when I was sitting in the Amici Amici restaurant (Yorkstrasse!) and then was told rather rudely that I should go around the corner to the snack bar (Mehringdamm!) if I wanted an arancini plus a drink as part of "72 Hours of True Italian Food"... Definitely looked different in the internet photos! I received a much nicer welcome at the snack bar, but I sat at a dirty table, got the Aperol from a plastic cup and finally my fried one with ragout? Bolognese? filled rice balls - without cutlery, as a large, unwieldy, hot finger food... rice and breading ok, the meat very strange and really not tasty! I left half of it and am still disappointed - what a shame about the 9 euros for three bites and the wrong aperitif! (It should actually be a new, hip Sarti Spritz instead of the well-known Aperol Spritz)!!! Definitely not again!

The food was okay, atmosphere was nice. The waiter was weird when it came to paying the bill, which made us feel uncomfortable because he was trying to push for a big tip immediately before we could really figure out how much our actual bill was.

Real Italian restaurant in Berlin centre. We've been welcomed by lovely jolly waiter, with smile and in Italian ❤️. The atmosphere in the restaurant is simply beautiful and intimate (Ideal for evening date). The food is homemade and you can tell by the delicious taste I didn't eat such a delicious pasta in years I wish I could eat some dessert when I was eating here, but I was full after my main meal. Service was excellent, all of them speak 3 languages (German, Italian and English) so you don't have to feel afraid if you're not fluent in Italian or German. I loved the family pictures on the walls and the fact it's a family run business it's my preferred type of restaurants. I will be going again when I'm back in Berlin.

Nice food with good service but it always is too crowded and not that cozy if you want to eat in peace. It is also a tad more expensive than a regular Italian restaurant.

Warmest recommendation! Even if there may not be a spot available for solo uno on a Friday evening, you will first be politely directed to the bar and then taken to a seat a few minutes later. I chose a wonderful tagliatelle. Beforehand, I got the best ciabatta I've ever eaten outside of Sicily, along with a plate of the finest olive oil... In addition to the excellent cuisine, there was excellent service. Always happy!

Well, the pizza was good. Mixed starter not bad but overpriced at €15 (value of goods max €4). Spaghetti Vongole - lots of pasta, few and tiny mussels... the price/performance ratio wasn't right here either. Wines (bottles) not available on the menu. But at least the courteous boss provided a pleasant alternative. Conclusion: good pizzeria - but unfortunately not anymore.

There were two of us in the restaurant. The originally prepared spaghetti carbonara was great. The waiter was super friendly and asked directly if the two of us (athletes) would like a bottle of water. Great service, very good ambience. An absolute recommendation.

Unfriendly, arrogant waiters and overpriced. The only open wine comes from the tap. And: everything at the counter is full of fruit flies (in February).

Good food and Italian flair. It's just that it's a bit cramped everywhere and I can't easily be seated. In the lower part the smell of food is very strong due to the open kitchen. All in all, only conditionally recommended.

The food was very tasty (e.g. the raviolacci with pumpkin filling in cheese cream and the tiramisu) and the service was excellent. We were looked after very well from the first minute and the door was even held open for us when we left. Great!

I can easily ignore the fact that the food is barely seasoned and sparse. But when the guests at the next table before you are served, even though they arrived and ordered after you, and there is also no eye contact during almost every short service, you feel anything but welcome. The dough is excellent but the pizzas are tasteless unfortunately, the service is excellent. It's a shame that the ingredients put on the pizzas are not of quality, at least as good as the dough which is crispy and soft. I don't recommend it if you're looking for a good, tasty pizza.

Wir waren zu fünft mit der gesamten Familie hier. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und flink. Die Karte ist übersichtlich, aber ausreichend. Alle Speisen wurden nach kurzer Zeit serviert. Die Pasta war auf den Punkt gegart und lecker. Lediglich die Carbonara war zu heiß geworden und etwas Ei gestockt. Dafür war das Wildschwein-Ragout von der Tageskarte perfekt, intensiv und vielschichtig im Geschmack mit zarten Fleischstücken. Die Pizza war knusprig und schmackhaft. Insgesamt ein wirklich empfehlenswertes kleines Restaurant am Mehringdamm ohne viel Chichi, dafür umso mehr Flair und gute Küche.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner during our stay in Berlin. We didn’t have a reservation but the wait staff were able to seat us within a few minutes. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the amici amici pizza. The food itself was great - good portions, the pasta was perfect and the pizza dough was delicious. However, the service was not so good, in fact, the wait staff were quite rude. Tables around us were provided with complementary bread which we didn’t receive, our candle wasn’t lit, difficult to get their attention for another drink, long time to get the bill etc. Small things but really affect the overall atmosphere and comfort of our dining experience.

The two of us were there on a Sunday after the theater around 11 p.m. and got something to eat! Anyone who now knows the largest provincial city in Europe: Berlin, knows that in the "global metropolis" of Berlin, even on Friday or Saturday evening at 11 p.m., apart from numerous kebab stalls, you can hardly find a restaurant where you can sit down, have a drink and have a meal You can order from a friendly, attentive waiter! I had pinsa and arrancini balls delivered to me via Wolt. The meat in the balls was disgusting. The pinsa arrived cold and didn't taste good. That was my last time ordering in this restaurant

... immer wieder gerne hierhergekommen – wir waren zwar maximal einmal im Jahr zu Gast, aber das Essen war immer gut und der Service aufmerksam. Diese Mal war es leider ganz anders. Wir hatten am Nachmittag schon Hinger und Lust auf Nudeln. Da das Amici Amici durchgehend geöffnet hat und wir in der Nähe unterwegs waren, sind wir mit Vorfreude hin. Das Lokal war bis auf zwei Tische unbesetzt. Uns wurde dann jedoch ein eher ungemütlicher Ecktisch an der Treppe zugewiesen. Die weibliche Bedienung hat uns dann kurz und knapp und wenig freundlich die Speisekarte gebracht. Zur Bestellung ist dann einige Zeit niemand gekommen. Schließlich wurde die Bestellung ebenso knapp aufgenommen. Bis unser Essen kam, haben wir mitbekommen, dass die ursprüngliche Bedienung anscheinend in Feierabend oder Pause gegangen ist. Außerdem wurde das Abendgeschäft vorbereitet. Nach einiger Wartezeit wurde uns unser Essen hingestellt. Leider war es mit unserer Erinnerung nicht mehr zu vergleichen. Die einen Nudeln waren hart, das zweite Gericht nicht richtig warm und außerdem waren beide geschmacklich nicht mehr wie bei vorherigen Besuchen. Aufgrund des bisherigen Bedienungsablaufes und der eher unfreundlichen Art haben wir auf eine Reklamation verzichtet. Am Nachbartisch wurde beim Bezahlen noch ein Schnaps oder Espresso angeboten - bei uns nicht. Wir wurden bei dem Besuch sowohl vom unfreundlichen Service als auch vom Essen enttäuscht – und das, obwohl fast keine Gäste anwesend waren. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hat in unserem Fall nicht gepasst.

So far we are... ... always enjoyed coming here - we only visited once a year, but the food was always good and the service was attentive. Unfortunately this time it was completely different. We were already hungry and craving pasta in the afternoon. Since the Amici Amici is open all day and we were traveling nearby, we went there with anticipation. The restaurant was empty except for two tables. However, we were then assigned a rather uncomfortable corner table by the stairs. The female waiter brought us the menu briefly and succinctly and not very friendly. Nobody came to order for a while. Finally, the order was taken just as quickly. By the time our food arrived, we noticed that the original waitress had apparently gone off work or had a break. In addition, the evening business was prepared. After a while of waiting, our food was brought to us. Unfortunately, it was no longer comparable to our memories. One of the noodles was hard, the second dish wasn't really warm and both of them didn't taste the same as on previous visits. Due to the previous operating procedure and the rather unfriendly manner, we decided not to complain. At the neighboring table, a schnapps or espresso was offered when paying - but not with us. During our visit we were disappointed by both the unfriendly service and the food - even though there were almost no guests present. The price-performance ratio was not right in our case.

Do not order to takeout this pizza

For 20 years, whenever I'm in Berlin, I've always gone to Amici Amici (formerly Amici Miei). A culinary delight!

Pasta extremely delicious! Service unfortunately a bit slow, but still nice. Unfortunately the antipasti plate was very bad (cheap mozzarella etc.).

I frequently go to this Italian restaurant, regularly, the food is good but last time I went the RAGÚ dish was not even close to what I expected, it left a lot to be desired... A shame because I am a Chef and I have a delicate but adaptable palate to the new Textures and Flavors but the last dish I ate disappointed me. They will perfuse themselves:...What if I would continue, would I give it a chance or would I come back, you ask? Well, the R. is Yes. Since they generally have Good Dishes, Good Wines, Good Atmosphere and last but NEVER the least IMPORTANT, Good CUSTOMER SERVICE....

Restaurant typique italien avec des serveurs qui parlent italien. Nous avons pris des pâtes qui étaient succulentes et faites maison. Le vin était de très bonne qualité aussi. Pas une fausse note.

Tempering my expectations is a lifetime endeavour. Just back from Torino, I had to judge this place based on Berlin standards. Those who know me will know that's an oxymoron to me. But hey, I came, I ate cleanly and left having eaten hand made, real food. That's an achievement in the par bake capital of the world (no joke, it makes Singapore look like regional France.) So, yeah, if you need a quick carbon fix at a decent price, it fits.
