Romero in Berlin

We spent New Year's Eve at Romero - a really successful end to the year! The atmosphere was great, especially the setting under the arches has its own charm. A small point that may not appeal to everyone: the train that runs directly over the restaurant can sometimes be a bit loud. For us, however, this somehow added to the cozy and lively character of the restaurant. The food was excellent, the service attentive and friendly. A must for us every time we visit Berlin!

This is genuinely one of the best restaurants in Berlin. The food is absolutely delicious, mouthwateringly so. The service is absolutely fantastic, me and my family got treated like family. The food comes fast and again, very very good. And the atmosphere makes you feel like you are in a family kitchen. If you come to Berlin, come here!

Bad, bad, bad. Starting with the unfriendly service, the food didn't come at the same time but about 10 and 20 minutes later, was partly lukewarm and had nothing to do with pizza in terms of taste. Despite having reserved a table, the table wasn't ready yet and last but not least, both the men's and women's toilets were flooded and absolutely dirty. Can't recommend it like that.

Delicious spaghettis but had a problem with acidity later on. The Italian waiter is so kind. However, there was a mid age waiter with white hair speaking Albanian (probably from Macedonia based on the accent I heard) was so disrespectful and uncultured as to make a nasty comments about the customer woman's body. Even though it was in Albanian, thinking that nobody can understand this shouldn't happen!

Incredibly full, we were rudely reprimanded upon arrival for being 10 minutes late. The waitress was obviously stressed and remained unfriendly, reducing our reserved seats so that we were crammed together in a corner. We were informed that there was enough space for us. We finally got the table we ordered. The food was good, but the pasta with pesto was too salty. 2 stars for the fact that the other waitresses remained friendly. Never again for me.

:)) Food poisoning/gastrointestinal after truffle pasta on Friday. As of Sunday, I'm still sick to my stomach. In addition, the staff ignored us pretty much the entire time and when paying, they simply charged more tips than wanted (despite fairly clear pronunciation).

El pan estaba un poco rancio. Agito mi lasaña caliente bastante rápido - desafortunadamente parecía consistir principalmente en queso y una salsa. Estaba casi desprovista de carne y la pasta también faltaba. Estaba un poco en el lado salado, pero por lo demás está bien dada la falta de carne. También pedí una crema brûlée - esto también era bastante poco inspirado y carecía de vainilla. La crema era un poco granulada y a veces grumosa. El servicio era áspero y poco inspirado - básicamente parecía que solo querían volver a casa (comprensible dado el tiempo). También el ruido del ferrocarril era molesto.

Very good Italian food. It is located in the S-Bahn arch and is therefore a little louder from time to time. That shouldn't bother you. Otherwise highly recommended. Dogs are allowed and card payment is also possible.

I visit the restaurant every other year during Innotrans, and I eat lasagne! They prepare this meal very well!

Wir haben ca. 30 min vor Schluss nachgefragt, ob die Küche noch geöffnet ist. Das wurde bejaht, aber schon mal mit einem sehr knappen „Ja“. Guten Abend und Tischzuweisung scheint hier unbekannt. Um diese späte Uhrzeit waren noch nicht mal die Hälfte der Tische besetzt. Meine Frau und ich setzten uns nebeneinander auf die Bank an der Wand. Dies wurde vom Kellner ziemlich barsch untersagt, wir hätten uns gefälligst gegenüber hinzusetzen. Auf Nachfrage warum, kamen Antworten wie „das sei Gesetz“ und wir würden ja sonst zwei Tische blockieren. Wie gesagt, es war halbvoll und kurz vor Feierabend. Die Gäste neben uns waren ebenfalls erschüttert über das Verhalten des Kellners. Wie entschieden uns, zu gehen. Niemals zuvor haben wir Ähnliches erlebt.

Very good selection of food and drink. Very good service and very comfortably furnished. Unfortunately there is no toilet for wheelchair users. Otherwise I can highly recommend it. Pasta with truffles, espresso with a scoop of ice cream.😍😍😍

Unfortunately I couldn't get an impression because I immediately left the restaurant. The reception was disrespectful and rude. I went to this restaurant alone and it wasn't very busy. I was immediately offered a table for two people directly at the cloakroom, so the guests all had to hang their jackets next to me or above me. I asked for another table, a little more separate It was immediately made clear to me that I wouldn't get another table because all the other tables were for 4 guests and not for a single person.. to mention again the restaurant was almost empty. So here the guest is definitely not king. I can also recommend a small Italian restaurant a few steps further where you will be welcomed in a friendly and respectful manner, even as a single person, and the food is of high quality.

Apparently it's open from 4 p.m. If you come at 4 p.m., you're happy to send guests away at 4 p.m. if you don't feel like it. I got a delicious pizza somewhere else.

Unfortunately, we were prevented from entering the shop by the waiter right at the entrance. I was in a wheelchair (there is a wheelchair symbol on the front door to indicate accessibility) and the first sentence was that there was no toilet for me. When we asked, we were told that the existing disabled toilet was completely full of cleaning supplies. Complaint follows. The restaurant is very narrow and there would hardly have been a seat. Overall, it was very clearly conveyed that disabled people are undesirable. You have to be able to afford it. 👎🏼

It is amazing calm for the location, the decor is simple and eye catching. Food taste great and it took about 10 minutes to get served which I found surprisingly fast and I loved it.

There were ten of us here, food and drinks came very quickly. We cannot understand the criticism of the service. Pizza was very tasty, pasta dishes were good too.

My partner and I ate here on our vacation in Berlin. We'd had a long, step-filled day and were happy to have pizza in sight. When we came the place wasn't full. We were noticed relatively quickly and were assigned a table - not particularly friendly, but at least. The waiters all seemed listless and none of them were particularly accommodating or friendly. What particularly bothered us was that all the neighboring tables got bread AND olives, we only got olives.. There was no “Hello”, “Thank you very much”, “Enjoy your meal” and “Goodbye”. Our pizzas were very oily and soggy. The ambience is ok, the S-Bahn runs above you, so it's a bit louder. We wouldn't eat here again.

Service was chaotic, drinks were incomplete, food for 6 people didn't come anywhere near the same time, and food was constantly being swapped with other tables. In the end we accidentally got the bill from another table, “luckily” it was twice as high, otherwise we probably wouldn't have noticed with 6 people. But the food was good. However, I wouldn't eat there again.

Two years ago I gave it five stars, see below. Unfortunately, the Romero has deteriorated considerably. Regarding the food, the wine was poorly chilled and the service... Whenever we go to a musical, we eat before the performance and drink something after the performance. Everything tastes good and the wines are delicious. We can only say good things about the service.

We were 6 people. Had reserved a table in advance. The drinks we ordered only came after a long wait and half were missing. When asked, there was a very rude answer. Normally I would have left, but as a group we wanted to eat and drink without stress. So we stayed. The food tasted good, but it came at 3 different times, so some people always had to watch while eating. We would have loved to order more drinks, but no one actually came to ask, we sat with empty glasses for 30 minutes. That's really a pity.

Min man bokade bord och när vi kom dit 20:00 med våra 3 barn- fick vi veta att det fanns ingen plats för oss. Det spelade ingen roll att vi bokade plats- de andra bokade plats för 2 månader sedan. Servitören skrek åt mig att han tänkte väl inte kasta ut människor som bokade bord för 2 månader sedan. Han tom gock efter mig och skrek. Mina barn och vi var väldigt lessna. Ingen ursäkt med förödmjukad framför mina barn. Hemskt!!!!

Overall a good 4 stars. Above average pizza at fair prices. Great interior design when it gets dark in the evening. Directly under a railway crossing. It's like a New York pizzeria. Sitting outside “ok”. Staff not overly friendly, but not unfriendly either. There is more! Still a recommendation

We didn't manage to try this restaurant... Lots of seats available and a rude waiter who wants to force us to a table next to the road. When asked to sit at a more sheltered table, he angrily tells us that we are "destroyers of members" (scassam****oa). Obviously the gentleman was not Italian and did not understand the gravity of such unacceptable behavior.

The food was good and was served quickly. Unfortunately the service was unfriendly and inattentive. When serving the drinks, the glass was touched from above and the edge of the glass was touched with the palm of the hand. You don't have to be a trained restaurant expert to know that this is unhygienic and an absolute no-go. The service felt it was more necessary to chat among themselves rather than take the order. The service staff seemed consistently annoyed and unmotivated. As a guest, this gives me the impression of being unwelcome. When it came time to pay, however, people suddenly tried to be extremely nice and score points with charm.

We've been there several times, the seating is comfortable and the food is delicious. My friend didn't think the spicy oil was spicy enough, but that's probably a matter of taste. If you sit outside, an S-Bahn comes by every few minutes, so it's a little louder. You should know if it bothers you.

This is my beloved restaurant in this area. Here they are always happy to serve you great food and wine. Nice staff speaks German, English and, of course, Italian.

The restaurant tempted us with its nice location, but the food was terrible. We ordered lasagna, which turned out to be completely inedible. I have been struggling with stomach pain for two days, it was not fresh and tasted as if it was made of powder. Besides, there was no meat in it at all, only cheese and noodles.

Unfortunately that was nothing. We were there for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The reception was rather abrupt, then the service opened a tablecloth at the neighboring table and all the crumbs fell onto our table. Well, well meant but not well executed. The food came before the drinks, bread came at the end. The cutlery was hastily placed/thrown roughly at our table. Sorry, but as a guest I notice something like that, whether you lovingly put it down or throw it down. The pizza was ok, the table was good. But the service and cleanliness spoiled the overall impression.

Unfortunately, our visit to Romero was an absolute disappointment. The three of us had dinner on a Saturday evening. Since the weather was nice, we wanted to sit outside and there were still a few tables available. We asked politely, then we were ignored for ages and were then allowed to sit at a table and organize a third chair ourselves. The waiters seemed very annoyed the whole time, even though it wasn't very busy. As if they were forcing them to work there. Nobody said bon appetit, thank you, etc. I haven't experienced such annoyed, unfriendly staff in a long time. The food was only lukewarm and the chicken wasn't cooked through. And then we also asked for parmesan, which was too much for the waiter. You can save the money and invest in a restaurant where the waiters are friendly and the food is tasty.

The waitress makes mistakes (alcoholic wheat instead of non-alcoholic), reacts aggressively to feedback and blames a colleague and then returns the 5 euro change in small coins despite the tip. We don't have to have it again

Nice place between the S-Bahn and the main street. The service should be happy to smile and be nice to the customers. The cabonara was made with cream sauce, cooked ham and some parmesan. Overall extremely unsatisfactory for an Italian restaurant.

It was absolutely delicious and the calm atmosphere was simply perfect for arriving in Berlin. The service was super good and the food was on the table quickly. I tried a calzone for the first time and I think about the taste and can't say anything about it. Again and again.

Good lunch offer. Apart from the occasional S-Bahn rushing past, you sit in a nice, quiet and sunny location in the immediate vicinity of the Zoo train station. Service very friendly. Good value for money.

We like the restaurant, we have been there several times in the past. I have to join many guests. The service is unfriendly and overwhelmed. The waiter argued with me because I asked for medium water. We had the same unnecessary discussion about the wine. The wind blew the napkins off the table, but we didn't get any new ones. The food we always had has also diminished. 6.90 for a small I also think glass of cheap Frizzantino is excessive.

The waiters have been very rude and have started eating next to us while we were waiting for the pizzas, they have made a mistake with the order and they have made a mess of it for us.

Birthday ruined! My cousin wanted to celebrate her birthday in this restaurant because it's supposed to be open until 1 a.m., complete nonsense! The kitchen closes at 11 p.m., you could tell that on the phone because we reserved a table shortly before 11 p.m. How at the end they cursed and said that we should leave because we didn't want to put up with their nonsense. Never again!!! This has never happened to us. Better go somewhere else!

I've never experienced anything like that before. As soon as we sit down they tell us to hurry up. Impudence! We assumed they would be open until 1am. When we reserved a table at 10:45 p.m. and were hoping for a relaxing evening, that apparently wasn't the case! When we got up and wanted to leave, they were already cursing, never again!!!

Waiter completely overwhelmed....Waited 45 minutes until we were allowed to place an order and the food was nothing!!Penne with strips of beef fillet...I had 3 lumps of meat between the noodles that you couldn't bite...maybe something wrong located in a fillet. You couldn't stand on the table because it was completely soaked and swollen under the tablecloth. Prices are getting higher and higher but then you should also rely on a certain quality.

The service was so bad. When our table was suddenly no longer in the shade, we wanted to move around at the very end of our meal for dessert time, and were simply complained about several times. Anyway, the service was completely lacking in politeness. Combined with the high prices, it just wasn't a nice experience! I can't recommend it.
