A very expensive food, not cheap, but certainly good value for money.

Completely overrated!!! If you want to use the pleasantries of the otherwise friendly waiters to downplay the quality of the food, then you've come to the right place. The gap between the quality of the food and the corresponding prices is enormous.

The food tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. It was convenience food! The food arrived first, and then the cutlery, only after we asked for it. The waiter wore so much perfume that it made us feel sick at the table. Overall, a disappointing evening for a lot of money.

An incredible and genuine Italian restaurant with some of the most high-end ingredients you find nowhere else. Service is extremely attentive to details, which makes the experience a whole delight. I love truffles and I came here exclusively for their tagliolini with white truffles from Alba, a true delicacy. With just truffles, Parmesan cheese and butter sauce, pure delight ! In the Summer months also enjoy all of their fish dishes. Can’t recommend it enough!

My absolute favorite place and Italian restaurant in Berlin

The Mediterranean appetizer platter was very exquisite and delicious, and beautifully presented. I found my truffle pasta a bit bland and the sauce too thin; the other main courses we had were significantly better. Overall, it was an unusual and delicious combination. However, the portions of the main courses were generally a bit too small. The biggest drawback is definitely the service. We had to wait about 30-40 minutes for our appetizers after ordering, and everyone on the staff seemed very stressed and overwhelmed. Despite their generally friendly demeanor, I don't think that should happen in a restaurant of this price range; they need to be much less hectic.

Enoiteca Il Calice is a stylishly decorated restaurant with a truly pleasant atmosphere. Tasteful, elegant, and inviting. The service staff was very attentive, professional, and friendly. There's absolutely nothing to complain about here. The starters were delicious, creatively composed, and served with truly delicious bread. A great start. Unfortunately, the main courses couldn't keep up. My Cappelletti con Ragù alla Bolognese (7 pieces) seemed more like a child's portion, and that for a whopping €27. Sadly disappointing. The same was true of the entrecôte, which was presented solitarily on a white plate, without any fresh garnish or attention to detail. The accompanying side dish was served separately in a small metal bowl. Important: The quality of the food was fine, I would like to emphasize that. But for me, the value for money here was unfortunately not right at all. Therefore, overall, this is not a place I would visit again, despite the lovely ambiance and good service.

Average food. Great vibe and service

First of all, the food was very good but not exactly cheap. The atmosphere was okay, but the service was terrible. We had made a reservation quite early on a weekend. The waiter was extremely hectic and quite rude. We therefore assumed our table might have been reserved for another table. Around 8:15 p.m., we got the bill, and the place wasn't even half full. So our suspicions weren't confirmed. For that price, I don't need to put up with that kind of service again. Berlin has far too many good Italian restaurants to choose from.

Delicious food, a little meat heavy

We chose this restaurant for our visit after the registry office and were more than thrilled. There were nine of us there, we had two fantastic appetizer platters, and then we were able to browse the small but delicious lunch menu. Everything was delicious, the service was truly fantastic, and the value for money was also good. We'll be back!

The restaurant is in a lovely, quiet area, with plenty of outdoor seating. It's an ideal location for dining in pleasant weather. I visited as part of a large group in early September, and it was still nice enough to eat outside. As we were a large group we had a small, set menu. I would have preferred more choice, as veal was a primary meat in at least three out of eight dishes. But for dessert, they did offer more options beyond the one thing that was listed on the menu. I ordered the cacio e pepe main, a simple classic that relies on freshness and precession. Unfortunately, the dish didn't arrive hot and it was a little clumpy. The cheese sauce should have been smoother, the flavour was heavy on the pepper side and it needed a sprinkle of salt. However, with all of that said I enjoyed the dining experience overall. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was decent, just nothing special.

A really lovely place, with excellent food, wine, service and atmosphere! Located in one of Berlin’s most affluent neighborhoods, on a quiet square, surrounded by lots of greens and flowers. Particularly enjoyable on a summer afternoon, for lunch, coffee or dinner. The dishes are all the classics and the wine selection is excellent. The waiters are very attentive and friendly and helpful with the best selection for your wine.

There's something for everyone on the menu. The food is high quality. The excellent wines and the selection are particularly noteworthy.

I didn’t feel welcome by the greeter. The place was visibly half used, and the street bar was unattended, already past peak dinner time. So they wouldn’t have us at the restaurant terrace for the wine bar. We were redirected to wait unknowingly long at the street bar. So enjoying a glass of wine paired with oysters is not an option here.

Many times the Tartare that arrives ready is either too seasoned or tastes of nothing or there is some flavor that is enhanced more. This is perfect! The prices are in line with the quality and quantity of the dishes. Excellent and never intrusive service, simple but elegant.

I was there with my love, and each bight was a delightful adventure. Anna savored the most delicious carbonara in all of Berlin, while I indulged in a perfectly cooked entrecôte that was simply outstanding! Every moment was filled with laughter and joy, making our time together unforgettable.

The food was top-notch again! Service, however, fluctuated considerably. The waiter was completely uninterested in us this time, always giving rude answers. The appetizer plate arrived incomplete without comment. A different bottle of wine was simply brought. When asked, the answer was, "That's delicious too...". Asked about dessert: "Just look at the menu..." The previous visit had a different waiter who was excellent. Even though a few things went wrong, the service was super friendly and enthusiastic. We'll be back, but we'll sit far away from that one waiter!

The wine, especially the wine from the hotel's own vineyard, was also excellent and testifies to great winemaking expertise. The wine selection is simply gigantic and impressive. Here, you'll find the perfect wine for every taste and budget, and the staff offers passionate and knowledgeable advice. The small kiosk "Il Kioski" on the square, which is very busy on nice days, perfectly complements the offerings and also allows for spontaneous, uncomplicated enjoyment of wine and light meals outdoors. A nice restaurant in the middle of Charlottenburg with an excellent selection of wines. Unfortunately the service on this Friday was disappointing. Although there was enough staff on site - around three to four waiters for a few occupied tables around 2 p.m. - the support left a lot to be desired. I was neither asked if I wanted to eat or drink something when I joined the table - nor which white wine exactly should it be when we came through with the order - something that I would have expected to be a given in a restaurant with its own wine office. When, after a few attempts, we finally managed to order two glasses of white wine, they simply didn't come - not even after a long wait, even though the food had already been served. We had to order a second time from a different service person. The staff seemed much more preoccupied with themselves. The restaurant wasn't full, so being overwhelmed can't be an excuse. It wasn't just a one-off oversight, but rather the behavior permeated the entire service team: we had to call after them, we were turned away prematurely, or we were simply ignored. One could certainly accept such a service if the pizza costs €9.50. However, when simple pasta arrabbiata costs €20 and a glass of white wine costs upwards of €15, basic standards such as active listening, asking questions and timely serving should be expected.

The portions were small and the quality left a lot to be desired. For the price I expected much more. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this store and will not go there again.

The tuna ceviche was a poem and the truffle pasta was the best I've eaten so far. There is also a wonderful ambience and great service. I can only recommend Enoiteca Il Calice and I will definitely stop by again on my next visit to Berlin!

I would like to share my experience at the Il Calice restaurant, where I was a guest with my wife on Saturday. As soon as we entered the restaurant we immediately felt welcome. The service was consistently friendly and attentive, which made the entire experience all the more enjoyable. It was nice to see how harmoniously the team worked together - you can tell that they are well coordinated and love their work. The food was simply outstanding. I can say with confidence that I have never tasted such a delicious Ceviche di Tonno. It was fresh, perfectly seasoned and simply a treat! The “Mamma Mia” pasta was another highlight; the flavors were to die for and you didn't want to stop eating. Finally, we treated ourselves to the cheese platter with six different types of cheese, which catapulted us to seventh heaven. Every bite was a delight! The music played by the DJ was the perfect accompaniment to the evening. It wasn't intrusive, but still engaging, which contributed to a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend Il Calice and will definitely tell all my friends about this restaurant. It was an evening full of enjoyment and warmth – we will definitely be back!

The irritation began at reception when we were called by our first name without being asked. Not that I have anything against being on first name terms in principle. But for people almost twice as old, unasked means disrespectful. On the few meter walk to the table we were asked if we wanted a bottle of water. After sitting at the table for a few seconds, waitress number two came and asked, even before we had seen a menu, if we wanted a bottle of water. Is this attentive or intrusive? I call it the pusher mentality. As a starter my wife chose Insalata Ceasar alla IL Calice for €11.50. The salad essentially consisted of halved romaine lettuce and coarsely shaved parmesan. The sourdough croutons advertised on the menu, like the Caesar dressing, were only available in homeopathic doses and were therefore difficult to find. The criticism that my wife expressed to her friend (“The salad was dry and uninspired.”) was dismissed with the unreasonable objection that this dish had been one of the top sellers for years. As if it would change anything about the poor quality. For the main course, due to the lack of acceptable vegetarian alternatives, we opted for Spaghettini Putanesca Style at a price of €22 each. The poorly cooked pasta (advertised on the homepage as “delicious home-made pasta”) gave the impression that the chef had taken it from a pasta package from Ja! poured into the water and taken out too soon. Background information: We have been making pasta at home for more than 40 years and know about taste and consistency. Conclusion: In my life, while traveling as a specialist editor, I have gotten to know countless exclusive restaurants in more than 20 countries on three continents. Il Calice is clearly not one of them.

Tiramisu was the best I've ever eaten.

Nice atmosphere, cozy. I cut back on the service because the waiter wanted to have completely unnecessary discussions about the "uncorked" wine... He then stopped serving us and there was no reason to complain anymore. The aperitif platter was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was also good. It's a shame that the toilets could only be reached via a steep staircase. All in all, a nice evening.

We go to Italy every year and go to the best Italian restaurants in Berlin - unfortunately this is far from it and the food tastes bland. CONCLUSION: The only Italian thing about the shop is the name. Unfortunately the staff and food were both tasteless. Definitely not a repeat!

The two of us were in the restaurant yesterday evening. We had 3 courses, which were very nicely presented and also tasted good. Now, unfortunately, the criticism, when we got the bill, we realized that the bread basket that had come with us in advance Olive oil was put on the table and was charged at 5.50. The guest should already get this information, because in the many restaurants we were in, this service was never charged extra. We had only ordered a glass of wine and water and had the impression that this was the reason why we didn't were asked more about what they wanted to drink and sat in front of empty glasses for the last 45 minutes.

We were under the impression from the summer terrace with the wine kiosk outside and decided to visit the main place. The food was okay, not disappointing but also not something extremely special for the price. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the service, not only did we feel unwelcomed, which is a subjective thing, but we also asked two different waiters twice to bring another glass of wine, which they didn't bring. Just want to underline that this is a wine bar. I'm not complaining about pricing policy, but for this budget it is easily possible to find something more satisfying

When we visited for Saturday lunch, we had to wait 1h15 for our food with hardly any service in between. There were 2 apprentices who had no idea what they were doing, and 1 long time employee serving a few tables. They forgot our wine order, and there was no bread on the table... ignored us the whole time while waiting for our food and when we complained, we received rude answers back and the waitor just walked off! In the end the bill was wrong, counting 1 extra water that we did not order. Pity, this was one of my favourite restaurants in Berlin, but for whatever reason, I'm not rushing back any time soon....

Fancy, small portions, long wait time for food, even on a weekday. Food was exceptionally good.

Bei der Buchung hier bei OpenTable wurde gefragt, ob es einen besonderen Anlass gäbe und ich habe Jahrestag angeklickt. Wenn ich das schon mache, gehe ich davon aus, dass die Location wenigstens den Tisch etwas schön deckt oder ähnliches. Aber dies war nicht der Fall, wir wurden einfach ganz normal platziert. Als ich den Kellner darauf ansprach, dass wir extra angegeben haben, dass wir Jahrestag haben (24. Hochzeitstag) und es nicht schön ist, dass darauf gar nicht eingegangen wird, wenn man schon gefragt wird, meinte er, ich hätte recht. Das war es weiter kam nichts. Und insgesamt hat man im il Calice mittlerweile das Gefühl, dass sie es nicht mehr nötig haben, sie sind zwar freundlich, aber nicht ehrlich freundlich. Man wird schnell abgefertigt, unser Essen kam schon fast zu schnell und für uns war es keinesfalls gemütlich.

Es gibt Küchen, wo es fast egal ist, wie das sonstige Restauranterlebnis aussieht, weil das Essen grandios für sich selbst spricht. Aber wenn das nicht der Fall ist - wie hier -, kann der Service immer noch viel herausreißen oder es eben grundsätzlich verderben. Letzteres war leider bei unserem Besuch im Il Calice der Fall. Es ist toll, wenn ein Kellner nicht zum Block greifen muss, um sich Bestellungen zu notieren. Aber wenn er es nicht macht und dann einen Teil vergisst und einen anderen Teil durcheinander bringt, wird es etwas peinlich. Und wenn dann die hilflose Fehlerkorrektur dazu führt, dass die Vorspeise nach dem Hauptgang serviert wird, kann man nur noch die Stirn runzeln. Oder wenn die Weinempfehlung so weit weg ist von dem, was man eigentlich haben wollte ("Wir haben leider keinen Primitivo, aber Primitivo heißt für mich wenig Tannine, also empfehle ich ihnen einen Valpolicella..."). Das Essen war nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht bemerkenswert. Wenn schon Oktopus mit Gurken kombiniert wird, erwartet man irgendetwas Außergewöhnliches, aber beide Dinge verbinden sich nicht. Beim angekündigten Lamm in Pistazienkruste erwartet man mehr als ein paar Pistaziensprenkel auf dem Filet. Wenn der Kellner beim wilden Brokkoli schon selber sagt "die Soße würde ich weglassen", fragt man sich auch, was los ist. Sowohl Burrata als auch Cesar's Salad waren eher profan, genau wie die Trüffelspagetti. "Handwerklich sauber" wäre unser maximales Kompliment, aber von diesem Restaurant mit all seinen Vorschusslorbeeren hätten wir mehr erwartet.

I will never eat here again!!!!! I felt very uncomfortable as a woman. The service person was extremely pushy and asked me very personal questions. First he asked me if I was Iranian, then he asked me why I was eating alone, then he asked me where I lived, whether I lived in the area, he said he would see me often. That statement alone was very frightening. Then he asked me again what my nationality was. After I answered him twice that I was German, he still didn't accept it. How can you employ someone like that in the catering industry? Extremely out of place, the behavior was so unpleasant and inappropriate. The food was good, but if you're bothered and can't enjoy the food, unfortunately it's no use. And to be honest, my parents are also from Turkey, but that doesn't give him the right to grill me like that!! Distance please!

A very nice restaurant that is very centrally located. Super nice staff with a warm smile on their faces. No matter what we ate (starter, entrée, main dish and deserts), everything was very tasteful and prepared with love. The white wine is very aromatic and absolutely well tempered. Attentive staff. All in all a very nice evening in the center of Berlin. We would like to come again.

Beautifully located restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere. We were “just” there for a wine. Some waiters are really too arrogant for me. We definitely didn't like the service. I just want to feel welcome as a guest. It doesn't matter to me whether I eat sumptuously or drink a good glass of wine.

I've been to Il Calice several times. I haven't been disappointed in the past either. Now I had ordered lamb. It was just greasy. My objection to the service was commented on by saying that they had just changed the card. Is that a reason for poor quality? No further accommodation. Even though the two of us had eaten for well over €200. There are also other good restaurants in the future.

Unfortunately a huge disappointment. The wine was ok. The food was bad.. we had a carbonara with no taste and soggy guanciale. The white asparagus we had as a starter were raw. I can’t recommend this place at all.

Food was good but main waitresses were super weird 😅 super uninterested, barely kind. You don’t expect such an attitude in this kind of environment …

On the plus side: Very friendly staff. Ok outdoor seating. Very good wine, which it ought to be, at those prices… but ok, we make our own selection. The food, on the other hand… fancy descriptions and nive presentation, but the baccalá was two spoonfuls of no-fish-taste-puré, the spaghetti alle vongole had only six tiny Venusmuscheln, the paniertes pork (Euro 28,50) was «whatever» and came without anything (ok, yes, Italyan style, I know, but the spuds cost another 10 Euro). Not impressed! All in all: I’m very glad that our friend was such delightful company… and that he paid, bless him.

What a wonderful evening. Once again. Time flies - with "Bragato" my journey through time of enjoyment began; Back then it was still on Giesebrechtstrasse. Back then, it was the 90s. We tried many great wines again and took them with us. The owner of Il Calice/Fam. Bragato also makes remarkable wines. At this point it should be noted that the food was also quite good 😅. No, it was absolutely wonderful - from the beginning to the flower pot that contained one of the best tiramisu in the city. Authentic Italian cuisine is constantly reinterpreted using the best ingredients and simply good. It's a great place to sit here, both in summer and winter, and let the friendly and attentive staff accompany you through the evening. Summer is a special highlight because Walter-Benjamin-Platz is simply incredibly beautiful to sit on. Warm summer nights are sometimes made unforgettable by live music at Il Calice. Anyone who likes good wine should definitely stop by the wine bar at Il Calice. Many wines, including absolute top wines, are served on a regular basis. It goes without saying that the wines here are at the right temperature - including the red ones. But don't be surprised if your stay lasts until late in the evening, because people simply like to linger here. Cin Cin!

Durch eine Einladung das 1. Mal im Il Calice. Mit der Bewertung aus dem Restaurantführer "Speisekarte" vom Stadtmagazin TIP kam auch Vorfreude auf. Laut Restaurantführer einer der besten Italiener der Stadt. Um es vorweg zu nehmen: Das ist er definitiv nicht ! Das Ambiente und die Servicedichte passen auf alle Fälle zu einem Edelitaliener, das Essen leider nicht. Alle Gerichte waren gut, aber hatten keine überraschende, eigene Handschrift. Und ein ganzes Stück weg von "fine dining". Gegrillter Wirsing kam mit einigen Gewürzen trocken auf den Teller. (Wahlweise als Beilage oder Vorspeise) Der grüne Spargel war perfekt gegart, aber die Soße ohne Pfiff. Laut "Speisekarte" sollte die Carbonara tiefaromatisch und begeisternd sein. Geschmacklich gut, aber nichts dergleichen war wieder zu erkennen. Der Service war nett, aber hätte in einem solchen Ambiente doch etwas aufmerksamer sein können, zumal das Restaurant nur zur Hälfte gefüllt war. Große Aufmerksamkeit wird auf die Musik gelegt. Zwar Geschmackssache, aber von der Lautstärke eher zu der angrenzenden Bar passend, für das Restaurant zu laut. Unser Fazit: Zum Glück sind wir in Berlin ausreichend mit wirklich erstklassigen Restaurants bestückt und brauchen hier nicht noch einmal essen zu gehen.

(Choice as a side dish or starter) The green asparagus was perfectly cooked, but the sauce had no kick. According to the menu, the carbonara should be deeply aromatic and exciting. The taste was good, but nothing like that was recognizable. The service was nice, but could have been a little more attentive in such an atmosphere, especially since the restaurant was only half full. Great attention is paid to the music. It's a matter of taste, but the volume is more in line with the adjacent bar, but too loud for the restaurant. Our conclusion: Fortunately, we have enough really first-class restaurants in Berlin and don't need to eat out here again.
