The Altstadt Keller in Bergen is a real find! The schnitzel was so good that we briefly considered giving it a name. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside – that's how it should be! 😍 The ambiance is wonderfully rustic – wood, coziness, and that touch of "The world is still in order here." You immediately feel at home, as if you're visiting someone who really knows how to cook. And the service? Super friendly, attentive, and with a genuine smile – no "I have to pretend" service, but genuine passion. In conclusion: If you don't leave here feeling full and happy, you're probably after salad bars. We'll definitely be back – the schnitzel is already calling us! 😋

Today, while looking for a special place, we happened upon the Altstadtkeller. As we walked in, the question came up: "Have you seen the daily specials? ...yes, cabbage rolls. And something to drink with them? Yes." And that was it. There were only two dishes: the aforementioned cabbage rolls or pancakes. An interesting concept. But we were absolutely thrilled. It tasted great and was a small price. Highly recommended. The Altstadtkeller is tucked away and accessible via a narrow entrance. Cozy and rustic. 😎👍

We were in Bergen, and although the reason for our visit was rather unpleasant—I had to go to the dentist—it was a pleasant experience to find the inconspicuous entrance to the "Altstadtkeller"! Inside, the restaurant surprises with a wonderfully cozy atmosphere and very friendly service! The food was very good, and the prices were almost guilty! We'll definitely be back if we ever find ourselves in Bergen again! Hopefully without a toothache!

I haven't had such a good schnitzel in a long time, and of course the potatoes, vegetables, and cucumber salad were also very good. The prices are unbeatable, and the service was very friendly. There was almost no wait. Highly recommended.

Around noon, it turned out there wasn't much open for lunch in Bergen auf Rügen. By chance, we spotted a board with weekly specials. For €9.50 per person, we couldn't go wrong. It was Wednesday – apparently schnitzel day – and we decided to go for it. No regrets! A generous portion, quick service, and everything was delicious. The interior was somewhat reminiscent of a traditional pub: a colorful collection of decorations, but precisely because of that, cozy and atmospheric. ------- Around midday, we noticed that not much was open for lunch in Bergen auf Rügen. By chance, we spotted a sign with the weekly specials. At €9.50, there wasn't much to lose. It was Wednesday – apparently schnitzel day – so we decided to give it a try. No regrets! A generous portion, quick service, and everything was really tasty. The interior reminded us a bit of a traditional pub: a quirky mix of decorations that somehow made the place feel warm and inviting.

Yesterday I went to the Altstadtkeller in Bergen for lunch again, and I'm always amazed at how delicious the food is. Every day of the week, they serve a variety of delicious dishes at reasonable prices. Thanks for your good work, and see you soon (:

A restaurant with an unassuming entrance, but anyone who ventures in will definitely be rewarded. The Altstadtkeller is a very cozy place with friendly service, and the food is simply fantastic. We ordered from the lunch menu. Both of us had smoked pork with potatoes, sauerkraut, and dark sauce. The food was delicious, the portions were more than generous, and the price was unbelievable. We paid €20 for everything shown in the photos, including drinks. For both dishes together, we definitely recommend it. 👍👍👍

A truly iconic restaurant, delicious home-style cooking at great prices, fresh and tasty. It's a place you'll love stopping by. The service and waitresses are super friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately, we're closed today, Friday May 16, 2025, at 5:10 p.m.! Although the opening hours say otherwise. No notice! Nothing! A real shame!

Anyone on vacation on Rügen and passing through Bergen MUST stop by the Altstadtkeller. Very cozy, family-friendly, and delicious! Hidden at the end of a staircase, the cellar is located—who would have guessed it?—in the basement. An absolute insider tip that I highly recommend to anyone who wants a cool draft beer and a delicious meal at a very reasonable price. Bravo! I'll be back.

I've been coming here regularly for about 2 years. Often for lunch but also in the evening. The food is super tasty, fresh and the portions are more than generous. I find the atmosphere very pleasant and rustic and the service is always friendly and courteous. Always happy.

Here's what happened. When the waitress wanted to hand me the plate of pasta across the table, the plate fell out of her hand and half of the food was on the table and on my pants. Instead of apologizing, I was given a small portion and said that I had already eaten the other half. When I asked in surprise whether I would get a new portion, which would have been a given, the boss came and told us to leave the restaurant immediately. I find that outrageous and advise everyone not to go to this restaurant.

The food is delicious, the service is friendly and it's definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back!

We were looking for lunch in Bergen auf Rügen on our summer vacation (end of July 2024). We found what we were looking for in the Alstadtkeller. There was delicious rice pudding for our daughter and wife and the daily special (a burger) for me. The lady in service was very friendly and took our order quickly and had a nice conversation with us. The food came after just a few minutes. It was very tasty and the prices were cheap for Rügen. I found the atmosphere really successful and inviting. We'd love to come back :) Greetings from Berlin

Es war total schön. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich. Das Essen war sehr gut und üppig. Die Preise waren sehr günstig. Ich würde dort jederzeit wieder gerne essen gehen!!!

Vor 3 Monaten das erste Mal dort gewesen und nur durch Zufall entdeckt... gestern waren wir erneut dort um einfach zu schauen ob es noch genauso gut geblieben ist wie damals. Und ja es war genauso gut wie vor 3 Monaten...Preis Leistung ist mehr als fair... soviel frisches essen auf dem Teller. Man schmeckt das es mit Liebe gekocht wird. Vom Chef selbst bedient worden und Hammermässig nett. Wir kommen im Oktober gerne wieder ..

Also,wir waren heute zum ersten Mal drin in diesem Altstadtkeller und muss sagen top, essen toll,alles frisch..wir haben alles aufgegessen und war lecker, und für den preis,kann sich das jeder leisten...sowas in stralsund..😉 würden wir jedentag hin..also probiert es bitte mal,wenn ihr in der nähe seit, oder Hunger habt...man denkt erst,was ist das, aber geht einfach rein und die Gastfreundlichkeit reicht schon...uns hat es gefallen..macht bitte weiter so 👍👍👍👍👍5 mal daumen hoch 👌👌👌👌👌

Urige Keller Location (Restaurant), Gutes Essen, vom Burger, Schnitzel 😋Fisch etc.. Durch Zufall entdeckt, erst unscheinbar und dann positiv überrascht. Auf jeden Fall mal die Treppe hinabsteigen und sich von der Küche und Co. überzeugen 😋😋😋. THX 💪😉👍☀️☀️☀️P.S. draußen fehlt noch ein großer "Restaurant Hinweis"...😉.

Excellent restaurant, very tasty and big Schnitzels. Prices were also reasonable. The restaurant is in the cellar, so don't miss a narrow alley, where are the stairs. The bathroom was ok. You can pay by card. Menu is only in German.

Tolles leckeres Essen. Große Portionen. Sehr fairer Preis. Auch der Wunsch, vor der Öffnungszeit Essen kommen zu können, wurde erfüllt. Wirklich super Kundenfreundlich. Wir waren 3 Pärchen und jeder hat was gefunden, allen hat es geschmeckt. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal.

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Von außen ganz unscheinbar, aber es lohnt sich sowas von. Wir waren eine große Gruppe und das Essen war bei jedem von uns sowas von lecker und frisch zubereitet. Hab lange nicht so super Schnitzel, Spargel, Bratkartoffeln, Pommes gesehen und gegessen. Die Portionen für den Preis echt top. Die Kellnerin war auch super nett. Koch und Kellnerin waren alleine und hatten mit uns allein schon echt zutun. Standingovations für die beiden. Ganz ganz toll 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏆

Kneipe / Restaurant der ganz ehrlichen Art. Wir waren sehr gerne dort! Entspannte Atmosphäre, absolut faire Preise und eine Karte, die auf das Wesentliche reduziert ist. Besonders die Panade vom Schnitzel war dermaßen gut, dafür ein Sonderlob. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und hoffen sehr, dass sich solche bodenständigen Lokalitäten noch ganz lange halten.

Der Altstadtkeller in Bergen auf Rügen ist ein uriges Restaurant direkt in der Altstadt von Bergen auf Rügen. Man kann hier auch Dart spielen. Es gibt eine ausgewogene Speisekarte auch mit saisonalen Gerichte. Die Portionen sind groß. Ich habe das Hamburger Schnitzel mit Spiegelei und Bratkartoffeln und Salatbeilage bestellt und es hat mir sehr geschmeckt.

Von den Preisen her mit das günstigste Restaurant in der Stadt Bergen. Das schlägt sich leider aber auch teils in der Leistung nieder: - Von der Restaurant-Atmosphäre her und der Serviceorientierung des Wirts(?) kommt man der 1980er Atmosphäre nahe. Beim Bedienen wird der Kunde als König betrachtet - und der Wirt sieht sich als Kaiser. - Pommes waren aufgebacken u. fettig. Beim Bezahlen darauf höflich angesprochen, kam Erklärung, sie seien „frisch“ und keine weitere Entschuldigung. Aha. Wie er es halt vor 40 Jahren im Umgang mit Gästen so gewohnt war und verinnerlicht hat. Also: Besuch mit Vorsicht bitte zu genießen.

Die Gasstätte Stadt Bergen bietet schon lt. Speisekarte deutsche Küche zu normalen Preisen. Das Essen war schmackhaft, gut gemacht – aber ich hatte den Eindruck, dass viel Convenience-Produkten verwendet wurden. Das gesamte Ambiente ist nicht einladend und etwa im Stil der früheren DDR-Mitropa. Die Speisen und Getränke wurden von einem Herrn in Hauspantoffeln, richtigen Schlurf-Latschen, serviert und die Tischdecke hatte mehrere unansehnliche Flecke. Ich werde dort nicht mehr einkehren.
