I tried to change my grandchild's diaper in the designated toilet and was yelled at by the service staff. I should go to the sanitary facilities opposite, but they don't have a changing table. And even when he knew that I wanted to change the diaper, there was no apology and he was immediately yelled at again (he thought I wanted to use the toilet, even though I tried to explain to him that I just wanted to change my grandchild's diaper) in the store never see me again... Our wedding in the old ferry house was simply wonderful. The team there pampered us and our guests with warm and attentive service throughout the day. The waiters were incredibly friendly and fulfilled every wish immediately. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful terrace with the beautiful pond. Our civil wedding took place there and the atmosphere was simply magical. There were plenty of comfortable seating options, so our guests felt completely comfortable. The food was also a highlight. This was mentioned very often by our guests. We are overjoyed to have chosen the old ferry house and can only recommend it to everyone! Kind regards to the Fährhaus team

Last Sunday we had an appointment with four people to have dinner at the Altes Fährhaus. The ambience, i.e. the gastronomy (the restaurant itself) and the location are very appealing, but our conclusion is: "We won't be coming back!" If we hadn't had a voucher to redeem, we would have got up again after a short time and left: The price/performance ratio was not at all good and the service at the table was very unprofessional and unfriendly! The menu is made from carelessly made individual sheets of paper (at least in the beer garden) with enormously different prices than the menu posted on the Internet! When we asked about the prices and the dishes, we were treated as if we were too stupid to read the menu correctly! We had 2 service staff at the table, one of whom behaved very arrogantly - he couldn't handle criticism at all! It's a shame, we're actually not stingy, but here we all refrained from giving a tip that would normally be appropriate for us, because a tip (at least in our opinion) means friendly service and unfortunately that wasn't the case here. About the food: 2 out of 4 dishes tasted satisfactory (pasta dishes), 2 schnitzel dishes were rather carelessly prepared for the price range and the side salads were very sparse!

It's a shame, nice location but the waiter is not able to serve 3 meters further under the trees...

We are thrilled with our visit to the Old Fährhaus. Both the service and the food were unique.

Ein Restaurantbesuch wie man ihn nicht haben möchte: Insgesamt ein schlechter Service: unglaublich lange Wartezeiten und dazu noch unfreundliches Personal. Das Essen: schlechte Qualität zum völlig überteuerten Preis. Caesar Salad laut Karte mit Cherrytomaten und typischem Parmesankäse, der dem Salat den charakteristischen Geschmack verleiht. Es kam ein für 21€!! Kleiner Salat, von dem niemand satt werden kann. Von Parmesan und Cherrytomaten keine Spur. Dafür Rotkohl und große, wässrige Tomaten. Sehr ärgerlich! Das war kein Caesar Salad!! Auch auf dem bestellten Nudelgericht fehlte der in der Speisekarte versprochene Parmesan - dafür gabs billigen Gratinkäse. Die leichte Pfeffersauce triefte vor Fett. Alles in allem super enttäuschend. Nie wieder!

We went to the beer garden for coffee. There were super delicious waffles with ice cream, cream and fresh strawberries.

The food is very good and comes quite quickly. Unfortunately, I remember the service last time as very negative. When paying, the EC device didn't work until it finally worked and I was asked to pay in a very unfriendly manner with the following words: "Can you finally pay now, I have other things to do after all." It was a very nice afternoon, but unfortunately the behavior left a bad impression on me and my companion.

Nach dem Essen hatten wir beide sofort Bauchschmerzen. Das ganze für einen auch noch für einen Preis der dafür zu hoch ist. Wir können es nicht mehr empfehlen und wollen da auch nicht mehr hin. Die Lokation ist top, der Rest leider nicht.

My experience was highly disappointing. We were made to wait over 30 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff. Our attempts to get someone’s attention were ignored and no one even took our order. We eventually left without being served. The service should be impeccable for a restaurant that charges such high prices. I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this place to others.

Enjoyed a wonderful celebration in the hall and outdoor area last weekend. On the occasion of two big birthdays, it was the right decision to celebrate in this great restaurant. Our guests and we thought the location was great, the food was great and the service was exemplary. An unreserved recommendation from us. Thanks .

Beautiful restaurant for young and old. The food is super tasty, just a little expensive... but still ok for the current situation. Unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the service as the waiter knocked over one of our drinks and didn't bring us a replacement. There was also no replacement for the cutlery. When we asked for a replacement, everything came to the table quite quickly. Unfortunately we still had to pay for the spilled drink.

Disastrous service. On a Sunday with the best weather, orders were hardly possible. Service totally understaffed. Plates weren't cleared away. The boss became cheeky by pointing out the grievances. Absolutely no go. Never again

A nice beer garden near the spa park

We were there with a group of 9 gentlemen after a bike tour. Great atmosphere, service very professional, food tasty and portion size OK. Price/performance, however, is also absolutely in the upper range. It's a shame that you can't get at least a small salad as a side dish given the fairly high prices.

What a great and delicious evening. We sat in the cozy beer garden with a great atmosphere and were greeted very warmly and funny by the service. The starters, main course and dessert were of top quality. The ferry house pan is delicious. Thank you for a nice evening.

Dear Fährhaus team, We celebrated our wedding and our subsequent party with you yesterday. All in all, we can say that we had a wonderful day and would like to thank you very much for it! The service staff on site was simply great. Warm, attentive and we were able to laugh a lot with you. Really great - a huge thanks to the guys who were there last night. The food was also great and everyone ate really well! A huge thank you to the kitchen and the effort you put in. The location was exactly as we had imagined and ordered and was also very well received by our guests! Everyone was happy and beyond excited. Thank you! The only drawback we have to express is actually, and that's why we were so pleasantly surprised, that we didn't feel treated with respect by the managing director. That's actually a bit of a shame because we had a very strange feeling about whether our wedding wouldn't be a failure. Answers were “cheeky” and “arrogant” when questions were asked. She is very demanding but didn't give the impression that she cared about the well-being of the guest but only about the money that you ultimately have to pay. Which I think is really a shame for a managing director. That's why we still give it 5 stars because everything was right and we still had a really great evening.

The food is great. And the team was very friendly, although noticeably understaffed - but I don't see that as a negative in the current situation. When it comes to wine, however, there are big gaps: the map doesn't reveal any vintages or details. Unfortunately, you won't find mature German Rieslings, for example. The Riesling we ordered from Cornelius Dönnhoff that evening was listed as dry on the menu - we got a Lagen-Kabi with 9% alcohol - without a doubt an absolutely great wine, but far from dry and above all not what was on the menu. we had ordered. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he had no real understanding; he would also like to drink a wine and it would not be semi-dry but dry. Besides, I would have chosen it myself - which is true. But as I said, the card said something different. After a bit of back and forth, my wife got a glass of dry Riesling on the house and I took care of the Kabi. Which was fine with us. Nobody made a mistake in their tone, unfortunately the young man simply had no idea about the matter - that's ok, but then please bake small rolls. In the end we had a great evening and a good solution to our "problem". However, since it is also called a wine shop, I expected more here. Please work on training employees. Wine is an important topic for too many guests - at least someone there has to be in the juice and have some idea. To put it in perspective: I'm not a wine nerd. Thank you for the lovely evening - we will definitely come back, but then the wine will be checked and discussed before opening :)

We just parked opposite and then visited the spa park

We were there with a group of about 10 people on a beautiful Sunday and took a seat in the outdoor area, although it was no problem for us to find a nice shady spot for everyone. The service staff was extremely friendly and joked, which further improved the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is really extensive and there are great options for vegetarians too. The dishes were all beautifully arranged and the dessert was also delicious. I think the prices are absolutely appropriate for the ambience and the quality of the food and I look forward to being a guest there again soon.

As a wedding photographer, I always enjoy being at the “Alten Fährhaus” right next to the spa park, the canal and the Lippe. It's a great place to celebrate a wedding: civil wedding ceremonies, champagne receptions and, of course, partying into the night. The options for naturally romantic and classic bride and groom portraits in the entire surrounding area are diverse, the food and the entire service are TOP - what more could you want?

We were there spontaneously on Sunday evening. We were greeted very nicely, the atmosphere is very nice in the old half-timbered building, the food was very tasty, the price was ok, the service was nice, we felt very comfortable!

We celebrated our birthdays there with 5 people. The food and service was good, unfortunately there was no more at the end.

Easter buffet today at 6 p.m., cozy atmosphere, warm tones, you feel comfortable, the friendly lady who served us was very nice and attentive, used plates were cleared away quickly, drinks were there quickly, we asked if everything was OK, price/performance 37.50 for the buffet was justified, soup, starters, warm dishes, dessert. Very nice, old half-timbered building ... rustic, cozy restaurant. Friendly staff. However, if I get "Fertigschnitzel" instead of a real pan-fried schnitzel in this great location and then have to order the side dishes separately, basically paying 30 euros for a schnitzel dish, the quality must be right. Doesn't work at all...

A beautiful half-timbered house. The service is also generally friendly. Inside, however, the furnishings are pretty old-fashioned. Add to that absolutely inappropriate music for the meal and the food was simply impossible, no matter what you ordered. It's best to order a starter when you've already landed there and then keep looking. Overall, an absolute disappointment. Definitely not recommended.

Went to the old ferry house yesterday. My son gave us this evening on the occasion of our 25th wedding anniversary. It should be something very special. We sat with 6 people in a corner where you couldn't read the menu without a cell phone light. We waited 25 minutes for someone to come to our table. The drinks were ordered and the main courses at the same time. There was already enough waiting time. The fact that the glasses that were not used were only removed at our request, so you can ignore it. The food was of good quality. We weren't asked how everyone wanted their meat cooked. The steaks were almost raw. All I would like to say about this restaurant with upscale prices is that it is not worth the money. The team was supposed to have dinner at the Landgasthof Günther in Hörste. You will experience great service and the quality of the food, apart from the price, is twice as good. Maas family.

Very well-kept, large restaurant with a beer garden. Very good food. In the afternoon delicious waffles with ice cream and fruit.

The ambience is really very appealing, especially the candlesticks with real candles on the tables. The service was also attentive and courteous. The starter, a soup, tasted excellent. For the main course we chose fish, namely the two different fish plates from the menu. The fish was okay in both dishes, but not the sauce. In my partner's fish plate, the pieces of fish were swimming in a white, mushy sauce that tasted of nothing. For me it was also pretty tasteless, there was no trace of the lobster. We still want to test whether meat tastes better there.

Had dinner there on Sunday in the company of lovely and friendly ladies. Ambiance, plentiful and good quality food, side dish of fries could have been a little crispier, waiting time and service within the green range, recommended all around. 👍🙂👍

Im Rahmen einer Einladung haben wir wiederholt schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Trotz nicht voll besetztem Restaurant bei Getränken und Essen lange Wartezeiten. Das Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. Z.B. für einen Grillteller mit eher trockenem Fleisch und lediglich Fritten - ohne Gemüse oder Salat - fast 30 Euro. Das freundliche Personal kann das insgesamt nicht ausgleichen. Bei diesen Rahmenbedingungen keine Empfehlung wert.

Ambiente war sehr schön, der Service war nett, sowohl beim Empfang als auch bei der Bedienung, leider war das Essen (warmes Buffet) nur lauwarm.

Wir waren mit der Familie abends zu Gast im ,,Alten Fährhaus''. Die Service Team war freundlich und aufmerksam. Die von uns bestellten Getränke, Vorspeisen und Hauptspeisen wurden schnell und wohl temperiert serviert. Es war ein gelungener Abend.

Wollte eigentlich nie wieder dort Essen. War dieses mal besser ,der Servic hat sehr gut auf mein Anliegen reagiert.

Das Positive zuerst: nettes Ambiente, rustikaler Fachwerkhausstil. Die Bedienung ist ebenfalls rustikal, muss man mögen. So jetzt zum Essen, der eigentliche Zweck des Besuches. Dreimal Wildschweinrücken bestellt, dreimal super zäääh uns was macht ein halber Pfirsich zwischen Wildsau und Wirsing? Nach dem obligatorischen : hat es geschmeckt?, wurde die Konsistenz bemängelt .....kein Kommentar seitens der Bedienung. Dann war da noch ein gebackener Camenbert mit Ananas, kann man mögen, muss man aber nicht. Insgesamt ist die Speisekarte an sich schon ein Hinweis auf die Qualität des Essens, viel zu umfangreich. Erinnert alles zusammen an ein jugoslawisches "Restaurant". Nur die Preise nicht. Schade, aber wirklich nicht empfehlenswert.

Freundlicher, sehr aufmerksamer Service, wir hatten einen schönen Abend im Fährhaus

Ich hatte dort meine Standesamtliche Hochzeit . Das Ambiente war wirklich hübsch, schön war das alle Gäste Platz hatten und es auch noch genügend Platz gab . Sehr negativ zu bewerten war das der mittelgang viel zu schmal war und somit der Einzug am Arm meines Vater nicht möglich war. Somit musste ich den Gang alleine durch gehen , habe trotzdem noch die seitlichen am Boden stehenden Windlichter die ich bestellt hatte mit meinem Kleid umgehauen( die mit teelichtern anwaren) . Für mich war es leider ein großes Manko , da ich schon gerne in den Armen meines Vaters zur Trauung gegangen wäre. ( auch wegen den Fotos). Vielleicht nimmt man sich das mal als verbesserungs Vorschlag, den Gang deutlich breiter zumachen .

Wir haben im Alten Fährhaus unsere Hochzeit in Saal gefeiert. Das 2ar die beste Entscheidung. Angefangen bei der Location incl. Deko, übers Essen bis hin zum Service war alles total toll. Die Kellner haben jeden Wunsch erfüllt und waren wirklich den ganzen Abend über super aufmerksam. Wir können nur jedem empfehlen, der nach einer Location für Feste sucht: Fährhaus!

Wir waren mit mehreren Familien ca. 20 Personen an einem Feiertag im Restaurant. Positiv: Das Restaurant ist sehr gut gelegen und das alte Fährhaus ist optisch eine klasse Location. Negativ: Der Service war unterirdisch. Hier muss dringend nachgebessert werden. Ich zähle einige Bsp auf. Wir haben angeblich zu einer anderen Uhrzeit reserviert. Mehrere Personen waren bei dem Telefongespräch dabei und konnten das dementieren. Wir haben erst nach 30 Minuten eine Karte erhalten um Getränke bestellen zu können. Service war zu knapp für die Größe der Location, die Servicekraft hat uns mitgeteilt das wir auf das Essen länger warten müssen. Essen: Wurde gebracht: Zitat Kellner „Leute, Sie müssen wissen was Sie bestellt haben“. Leider wurde ein Gericht falsch gebracht. Ein Gericht wurde mit falschen Zutaten serviert und der Aussage vom Personal „Damit schmeckt es doch auch viel besser“. Schön das er besser weiß was wir mögen. Es wurde ein Gericht serviert und das Essen unter der Nase wieder weggenommen um es anschließend wieder hinzustellen. Da wusste der Service wohl nicht mehr was serviert wurde. Es wurde ein Steak kalt serviert. Das Steak wurde umgehend mitgenommen und wieder aufgewärmt. Hier sprechen wir von einem Steak Medium aufgewärmt. Das geht gar nicht ! Die Entschuldigung war sinngemäß. „Haben Sie Verständnis, es ist viel los“. Es gab ein Kostenlosen Wein zur Entschuldigung dazu. Das waren nur einige Beispiele. Geschmacklich, war das Essen gut. Bezogen auf das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist das ausreichend. Fazit: Lieber woanders hingehen. Wir haben uns über den unverschämt schlechten Service den ganzen Abend unterhalten und uns damit selbst den Abend versaut.

Klasse 👍 nette Bedienung alles super

Das Essen ist okay, etwas mehr Einfallsreichtum würde nicht schaden, Fleischgerichte z.B. mit etwas Salat oder Gemüse zu ergänzen. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Etwas mehr Zeit zu haben, wäre nicht schlecht: Etwas Ruhe reinbringen in den Service. Erbittet man etwas mehr Zeit vom Oberkellner, scheint der einen dann aber auch trotz Handzeichen und Ansprache noch etwas länger warten zu lassen. Außerdem erscheint er etwas hektisch: auch hier wäre mehr Ruhe/Souveränität, vielleicht auch nur Erfahrung hilfreich. Das Ambiente unschlagbar.

Sehr schönes Ambiente und toll gelegen. Parkplätze sind auch kein Problem. Das Essen ist tatsächlich sehr gut, jedoch preislich gehobener. Es hätten 5 Sterne werden können, wenn das Personal noch etwas aufmerksamer wäre. Für besondere Anlässe auf jedenfall einen Besuch wert.

Eine Runde Sache um feiern zu können.

Wir waren spontan hingefahren und haben trotz fehlender Reservierung einen Tisch für 4 Personen bekommen. Das Restaurant ist wirklich sehr gemütlich und die Karte bietet eine tolle Auswahl: für Kinder, Vegetarier und Veganer finden sich Gerichte. Das Essen war schnell serviert und heiß, was auf eine gut organisierte Küche schließen lässt. Unsere Gerichte waren sehr lecker und das Fleisch wirklich exakt auf den Punkt gegart. Großes Lob an das Team in der Küche. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, hat auch geduldig die Sonderwünsche der Kleinen aufgenommen. Fazit: Ganz klare Empfehlung!

Wir haben sehr leckeres Essen bekommen und sind hoch zufrieden.Bedienung sehr lustig.Hier bekommt man Sitzfleisch und möchte nicht mehr weg.

Das Ambiente im Restaurant ist einfach sehr urig und modern. Der separate Raum für größere feiern ist mit persönlich zu clean

Absolut keine Organisation,Personal ist dem Namen nicht würdig.Erst nach dreimaliger Ansprache bemühte sich jemand nach der Bestellung zu fragen. Nach 30 min. Kommentarlos gegangen.Kann mein Geld auch woanders loswerden.

Sehr schönes Ambiente im alten Fachwerkhaus. Die Plätze am Rand sind allerdings sehr dunkel. Bei der Ankunft mussten wir länger warten, bis uns jemand in Empfang nahm und zu unserem Tisch brachte. Die Speisen waren gut und die Portionen ausreichend. Da abräumen der Gläser und Teller dauerte länger. Es fehlten auch Nachfragen nach neuen Getränken. Wir waren schon häufiger im Alten Fährhaus und dem guten Essen steht ein schlechter Service gegenüber. Sehr schade, da der Gesamteindruck darunter leidet.

Zeker de moeite waard, gekozen voor het verrassing menu, door aanraden van de bediening geen soep genomen wat een goede keus was verschillende soorten steak alle lekker en goed bereid, kip file , gebakken Camembert gebakkene aardappelen kroketjes salade 2 soorten Sous, heeft wat moeite gekost maar het meeste was op, dus nu wel buikpijn , lekker goede bediening goed bier super danke

Absolut Top Essen...aufmerksames Personal Großer Parkplatz vor der Tür Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Location Wir waren das erste Mal im Restaurant und kommen bestimmt wieder Steak,Medaillons und die Vorspeisen waren absolut Klasse

Vor zwei Wochen waren wir mit 4 Erwachsenen im Fährhaus. Bisher haben wir uns dort immer wohl gefühlt. Aber dieses Mal: 18.45 Uhr saßen wir am Tisch. Die erste Bestellung an Getränken kam spät. Gegen 20.45 bekamen wir den ersten Gang serviert: 4 Suppen, 3 davon lauwarm. Später kamen die Hauptgerichte: Ein Filetsteak okay, das 2. mit versalzener Soße, beide Fischpfannen versalzen. Die weiteren Getränkebestellungen wurden angenommen, aber meist nicht ausgeführt.. Die Bedienungen waren recht freundlich, aber offensichtlich überfordert. Die Kommunikation passte nicht. So bekamen Gäste, die viel später kamen, eher etwas zu essen. Als Entschuldigung wurden 4 Heißgetränke spendiert. Fazit: Das war es für uns !

Super Ambiente , super Essen , sehr aufmerksamer Service . Was will man mehr. Ganz klare Empfehlung . Im Sommer gibt es sogar eine Beachparty .

Wie immer top. Wir hatten Steak und Lammrücken, perfekt auf den Punkt gegart. Als Vorspeise gab es Duett vom Lachs und Carpaccio, beides klasse. Die Soßen sind äußerst schmackhaft, und die Nachtische (Fondant au chocolate, Apfelbeignets und Panna Cotta) ebenfalls. Sehr zuvorkommende und aufmerksame Bedienung...jederzeit und immer wieder gerne.

Wir hatten mittags angerufen und uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass für die Terrasse keine Reservierungen angenommen werden, wir aber um 19.30h bestimmt einen Tisch bekommen würden. Als wir um 19.45h ankamen waren auch ca die Hälfte der Tische draußen frei. Als wir nach einem Tisch fragten fuhr uns die Bedienung schon fast unverschämt an, ob wir denn keine Reservierung hätten. Ohne Reservierung würde es keinen Sinn machen. Sie hätte viel zu tun, wir könnten uns hinsetzen, aber sie könnte uns nicht bedienen, weil sie jetzt andere Dinge zu tun hätte und so viel los sei. Wir müssten warten und daraufhin ließ sie uns am Eingang einfach stehen und ging weg. Nach der unfreundlichen Ansagen haben wir das Lokal lieber direkt wieder verlassen. Viele andere Gästen wirkten auch sehr unzufrieden und versuchten durch deutliche Handzeichen eine Chance auf Service zu bekommen.

Nachdem wir in der Vergangenheit mehrmals hinsichtlich der Leistungen der Service-Mitarbeiter enttäuscht worden sind, haben wir es am vergangenen Wochenende mit "to go" versucht. Überaus freundliche Annahme der Bestellung am Telefon (Sonnabend), Rückruf zwecks Bestätigung am Sonntag. Bereitstellung der gem. Platte zum vereinbarten Zeitpunkt. Das war perfekt. Die Speisen waren auf einer grossen Platte ansehnlich angerichtet, das Fleisch (Steaks, Puten- und Schweinefilet) für uns optimal gebraten. Die Beilagen (Fritten, Kroketten und Salat) waren ausreichend und ok (die Küche ist eben gut). Der junge, freundliche Mitarbeiter hat angeboten, die Platte zum Auto zu bringen. Wir überlegen, beim nächsten Mal wieder auf den Service im Restaurant zu verzichten und die Speisen "to go" zu bestellen und abzuholen. Ok., wir wohnen nur wenige Autominuten vom Restaurant entfernt.

Heute mit 4 Personen 4 verschiedene Gerichte bestellt. Alle Top. Service mittlerweile auch Top. Weiter so. Kommen natürlich nach Corona wieder !!

Très bien bon accueil cuisine excellente prix corrects resto sympa en été on peut manger dehors et chaleureux en hiver avec poêle au bois ' puis faire une promenade le long de la Sarre toujours bien en toute saison

Der Service wirkt leider überfordert, teilweise echt unfreundlich gegenüber Kunden.. das Essen ist gut.

Ich war schon mehrfach im Alten Fährhaus - mit dem Essen Warschau immer zufrieden. DerService war eher schlecht. Heute ein neuer Versuch und eine positive Überraschung. Die freundliche Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam, nett und zuverlässig. Steak und Filetspitzen waren sehr gut. Jederzeit wieder.
