Altes Bierhaus - Spezialitäten vom heissen Stein in Oberhausen

Today was my first time at the Bierhaus, and since I really enjoyed their hot stone dishes before, I wanted to try them in Oberhausen. I can only say it was a real treat. The meat was incredibly delicious and tender, perfectly seasoned beforehand, the service was excellent, the beer was fresh—it was simply a wonderful evening. I'll be back. Thank you!

The meat was absolutely delicious, and the service was very attentive. Prices are on the higher side, but justified if you want a tasty and good meal! Unfortunately, the pepper sauce wasn't to my liking, as it was simply cocktail sauce with peppercorns, but perhaps they will change that in the future.

The meat was wonderfully tender and tasted delicious. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and were even allowed to take a cutting of the lovely mint plant home with us afterwards! The price-performance ratio is absolutely perfect. Recommendation for fries lovers: One portion is enough as a side dish for four people.

Today was our first time eating at this restaurant, and we weren't initially sure if it was suitable for families with children. What can I say? The server was incredibly friendly. I've rarely encountered such a kind and attentive server, especially with children present! The food and drinks arrived at our table very quickly. The prices are definitely more than justified, as the quality is excellent. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back!

Positive: The meat was good, the service very friendly. Negative: The side dishes were far too expensive and poor quality. The salad was a joke, consisting of some coleslaw, a bit of iceberg lettuce, carrot sticks, a slice of cucumber and tomato, all dressed with a ready-made yogurt dressing, and all for €7.90 – a complete rip-off! The fried potatoes were soggy and swimming in grease. The air in the restaurant was smoky, as it was already quite full. We smelled like smoked mackerel afterwards 😅. The real kicker, however, was that we were brought a salad we hadn't ordered. When we pointed this out, we were initially told it was free and we should be happy. Two minutes later, the first waitress came and said her boss had instructed her to add the salad to our order, meaning we were supposed to pay for it. Only after we asked twice to clarify the matter did the manager come and put €7 on the table, presumably as a refund since we had already paid. We had completely lost our appetite! Conclusion: completely overpriced and an attempted rip-off. Never again!

A different way to eat. Great idea, superbly executed. There was one thing I personally didn't like so much. The beef on the house platter was coated with too much garlic. I wish there was an option to season it yourself with oil or powder. Otherwise, everything was great, and it wasn't the only time we were there.

Rustic ambiance and a good selection of dishes. Here, you can decide how the meat is cooked. The meat is served raw, and a hot slate slab is used, so everyone can cook their meat the way they like it. A slightly different restaurant experience.

It was really good. It looks expensive at first, but in the end, it's absolutely worth the money. The service is absolutely commendable. Absolutely top-notch. You don't come along often. The meat was good quality, but I wish they'd known beforehand that it was marinated (but the marinade was fresh, tasty, and well-made, also good). Dips and herb butter were homemade. Bread was good. Salad was fresh. No waiting at all. I really liked it. The ambiance is a bit dated, but I like the old 80s Yugoslavian restaurant charm. It fits well there. The pricing isn't entirely understandable, but in the end, everything was fine.

Anyone who loves meat has to eat here! It's so good, and since you can cook it yourself, it's always cooked to perfection. My personal favorite with the meat is the fried potatoes.

Why 2 stars? The restaurant either needs to be renovated or completely refurbished. It's reminiscent of the 80s, and not in a good way. There was something unidentifiable stuck to the edge of the glass. Everything just wasn't really clean. The meat came seasoned (not described on the menu). There are four sauces. Period. No choice. If you don't like them, you can have ketchup. The side dishes were very generous, but they were also quite expensive at almost €7, and you have to pay extra for mayonnaise and ketchup. The meat quality is okay. But €90 for two people is something. All in all, we probably won't go back, which is a shame.

We were there last Friday. The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

We were at the restaurant here at 6 p.m. Table was reserved. We only had drinks at 6:40 p.m. Food was served at 7:45 p.m., both definitely too long and there was sparse conversation with the staff about the long wait times. The guests at the next table who were there later than us got their food and drinks before us. It always said it would come soon. Service looks different when you consider that an average person pays €35-€40. Since all meat products are previously covered with spices, the problem is that the spices burn on the stone and black residue is created. Not good. There is also no functioning exhaust system, the whole room is full of smoke. Only after we opened a window was cross ventilation created, which eliminated this problem. A change of linen after the visit was appropriate. We were here for the first and unfortunately also for the last time. Too bad

The food is very tasty and fresh. The portions are reasonable for the price. The staff is very friendly and helpful, if the hot stone gets too cold, you get a new one straight away. I can only recommend it. I'll be back soon.

If I want to eat really good meat, I go to the Altes Bierhaus. The quality of the meat is excellent, the service is very friendly and quick and customer requests are taken into account. However, you should know that you will carry the smell of the roast meat home with you. 😉 So it's best to put the clothes straight into the washing machine at home!

It stays at 5 stars. We dined here again today. Like last time, extremely good. Bread with great homemade sauces is served as a starter. Makes you want more. The meat was great. We had dinner there with a group on Friday evening. The food was really excellent, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, opinions differ when it comes to the ambience. But the service was all the better - the two twins in particular were extremely friendly, quick and clearly enjoyed their work. Another waitress unfortunately seemed a bit grim, but the two girls balanced it out brilliantly. One small criticism: What we missed is something that is common in many other restaurants - be it a small shot or similar attention, especially if you are a regular or come in a larger group. For us, this is simply part of gastronomy.

Hello, you should always sleep one night before writing something negative. Sorry, we come from Hamm and should be an event. Only if you have to wear a jacket while eating like yesterday, sorry. Eating is no fun. The windows were opened again and again, something that never happened before! It was very cold within minutes. The result is that I have a sore throat today and unfortunately I will no longer make the journey from Hamm to Oberhausen, which we actually did often. We paid over 200 euros for this, sorry, but that's not an ambience.

Restaurant with an idyllic beer garden, the food is something completely different: you prepare the marinated meat yourself on a hot stone. I had lamb fillet (nice and tender), with 4 delicious dips/herb butter, salad and bread. A very friendly and charming waitress (Samira) was very attentive and gave me good advice. Gladly again

So the food (it's raw meat that you prepare yourself) is always of great quality. You get bread with delicious sauces to prepare for the meal, great. The service, as well as the owners, are extremely friendly and always strive to guarantee a good experience. You will be recognized when you come back and you will also be asked about your personal well-being. All things that are no longer commonplace these days. The ambience is just 'old-fashioned', but in this case that's what the name says. Conclusion: Definitely see you next time 😃👍🏻

Hello everyone, we were at the "Altes Bierhaus" many years ago and now we remembered why we haven't been there for many years. 1. Pre-seasoned meat, with the spices burning on the hot stone, is definitely not that great. 2. No exhaust system to get the terrible air out of the restaurant. 3. I waited there for 20-30 minutes for service because I wanted a second beer. In vain, I paid without the second beer and we left. 4. 5.90 euros for fries?! This is really incredible. I know what I'm talking about because I've eaten several times in several restaurants that were awarded one or two Michelin stars, and even there, fries didn't cost 5.90 euros. 5. The clothes you wore to the restaurant can definitely be put in the laundry afterwards. Smells like smoke, very unpleasant. 6. Suffice it to say, the quality of the meat was really good. 7. If you order large still water (bottle), the water is served in a 0.5 liter beer glass, although we have no idea what kind of water was in it. It is clear to us that everyone has to gain their own experiences. The statements are based on our personal experiences on site.

What can I say ? It's my favorite restaurant after all 🥰 As a resident of Oberhausen, I see it as a MUST to have visited this restaurant at least once. I also always recommend friends, acquaintances and family to eat there. In fact, me and my partner love it so much that we eat there every month on our "monthly day." The atmosphere has something of an old palace/castle cellar, the food is served quickly so that you are served quickly even when the seats are full and the waitresses are always very friendly and quick. A taste explosion in our opinion - starting with the sauces for the bread, through the side dishes from fries to fried potatoes, right up to the fantastic meat. Of course, nothing in life is perfect and even the best restaurant has a small disadvantage - your clothes naturally smell like they've been freshly grilled after your visit. A small evil that we are always happy to accept!

Food from the hot stone? Then definitely go to the Altes Bierhaus - here the food doesn't get cold, no matter how slowly you eat ;-) The meat was great and the marinade for the meat was great. There is also a small selection of side dishes. The service staff were in a good mood and always had an eye on the guests, so no one had to wait long. We had a lovely evening and it wasn't the last time here.

Food from a hot stone, great idea and well implemented. Unfortunately, all of the meat is already marinated beforehand, I would prefer to get the meat plain and season it to my liking. The service could be more attentive, we often sat in front of empty glasses for a very long time and had to accept long waiting times despite reporting and drawing attention to ourselves.

Sehr schönes Restaurant. Leckere Gerichte. Interessant, weil man sich sein Essen am Tisch, auf einem heißen Stein, selber zubereiten muss. Fand ich toll, weil Geselligkeitsfaktor hoch ist.

Waren schon mehrfach hier und immer sehr gute Qualität vom Fleisch. Nichts für Vegetarier 😉

Wie immer gleichbleibend hohe Qualität beim Fleisch! Es schmeckt einfach super! Das Ambiente passt und der Service ist ebenfalls 1a! Und das zu absolut fairen Preisen! Weiter so! Bis zum nächsten mal.

An sich hat es uns ganz gut gefallen das Essen war auch soweit gut. Aber was gar nicht ging waren die Servicekräfte manche der „Kellnerinnen“ haben lautstark über eine Kollegin gelästert und das wirklich so das wir jedes Wort verstehen konnten man merkte eine direkte Ausgrenzung und so etwas vor Kunden zu tun ist echt schon sehr traurig. Das Ambiente wurde dadurch total gestört und man hat sich richtig unwohl gefühlt oder gut aufgehoben wer weiß ob diese nicht als Nächstes über uns als Gast reden sehr mieses Gefühl.

Ausschließlich Essen vom Heissen Stein, extrem lecker und nicht zu teuer. Gilt auch jetzt noch.

Ich war heute das erste,und sicherlich nicht das letzte mal in diesem Lokal. Das Essen (Feuertopf) und Grillteller vom heißen Stein waren einfach genial. Das Fleisch war spitze und echt hochwertig. Optimal gewürzt und abgestimmt. Die 4 verschiedenen Dips sehr passend zum Menü. Das Personal nett und zuvorkommend. Besser kann es nicht gehen. Der Preis ist angemessen.

It was a very unique experience as it was my first time eating at a restaurant with such a concept. The food quantity to price ratio can be definitely improved more. Everyone in the group enjoyed the evening and the food. I ordered Chicken in feuertopfsaus and the taste was not something i would recommend to someone for trying(does not taste bad, but it wasn’t the best). The schweinfleisch is a much better option compared to it. Beef options were very good and the meat quality was the best amongst the whole menu.

Leider gibt der Biergarten nicht viel her alte Holztische und Stühle. Keine Blumen nur Wiese und Hecke. Der Salat war sehr einfach gehalten Eisbergsalat,Krautsalat Möhren eine Scheibe Tomaten und einfache Joghurtsoße die warscheinlich Fertigsoße war. Der Service war gut

Perfektes Essen in einem tollen Ambiente. Ich war zum dritten Mal jetzt im "Heißen Stein" und bin jedes Mal begeistert wieder herausgegangen. Sehr leckeres Essen zum "Selberbruzzeln", schönes Ambiente und nette Bedienung. Wie sagt man so schön: Jederzeit gerne wieder :-)

Beste Zutaten in lockerer Atmosphäre - ein Genuss!

Meine verlobte und ich waren gestern das erste mal in diesem Restaurant. Ich muss gleich sagen auch nicht zum letzten Mal. Das Konzept dreht sich rein um den heißen Stein, für jemanden der sein Fleisch nicht selbst garen möchte ist es vermutlich nichts . Für mich war es super . Das Fleisch war von hervorragender Qualität. Der Stein wurde getauscht als er zu kalt wurde. Der Preis ist schon nicht günstig aber für ein gutes Stück Fleisch bezahle ich gern etwas mehr .
