Unfortunately, the opening hours on the website and on Google don't match the actual opening hours on site. The woman simply said that they couldn't do anything about it and that the hours change regularly. Thanks for nothing! We're leaving on an empty stomach.

You should come hungry, the portions are really big. No card payments accepted.

The food was very good 👍. The service was very fast and the value for money unbeatable. One small drawback is the requirement to pay in cash. Card payment should really be possible these days. PS: The half stuffed duck would certainly have cost us 10 euros more.

We've driven past the restaurant a thousand times and finally tried it. And we weren't disappointed. Quite the opposite. The food was delicious. The menu isn't extensive, but everything is freshly prepared and of good quality. Large portions, neither oversalted nor bland. Everything is spot on. Excellent value for money.

Where the batter wraps around the schnitzel – and doesn't let go. An inn like from the old days – rustic furnishings steeped in history, and a heartfelt smile from the service. That's a good start. Then comes the food: The schnitzel – let's just say – seemed to be a bit overindulgent. A substantial slice of meat in a batter wrap, unfortunately lacking that golden crunch you'd expect to hear at first bite. The fried potatoes looked as if they'd only been briefly pan-fried before being returned to the plate. Nevertheless: You'll be filling, and the prices remain reasonable. In a time when many restaurants serve only decoration and meagerness, this is at least honest, home-style cooking – with room for improvement. It's a shame about the potential – but anyone who simply wants to eat down-to-earth food won't be unhappy here.

The food was very, very delicious. Unfortunately, we learned too late that we could have had smaller portions. My wife couldn't finish hers, so we had to send some back. It was freshly prepared and truly delicious. The service was very friendly and competent. My only complaint is the water. It was a cheap brand (but still tasty), but charging €6 for it is really steep. We would eat there again, though 😃

Very cozy restaurant with very friendly staff. We had gypsy schnitzel and mushroom cream schnitzel. The portions were quite large and very tasty. The drinks are a bit expensive. I noticed the selection of "kids' entertainment." It's nice that they also thought of the little ones. (We didn't have any with us.) Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely come back.

After a really long time at the Alter Dragoner, I was always impressed. Not today... because of the lukewarm red cabbage... and the baked chicken breast. No go... cheese. Not baked properly, the cheese was wobbly... I have to get that off my chest...

We were there for dinner today. The ambiance is nice, though at times it seems a bit gloomy...the staff is super friendly and attentive. The food came quickly, but unfortunately, the fried potatoes weren't great, and my schnitzel was way too tough and dry. My companion's food was a little better. There's definitely room for improvement here.

We were here again after over a year, and the food was once again absolutely delicious. The service was fast and friendly; the prices were a bit surprising, but the portions were generous and the quality was good.

We stopped by unexpectedly and managed to get a table despite the short notice. The roast is super delicious, and the service is very friendly and accommodating. What we consider a rather major drawback is that they only accept cash payments. Unfortunately, this wasn't clearly stated and came as quite a surprise when we paid. This should have been communicated more clearly in advance, as it's rather unusual.

The snitzel wasn't bad, but it had several colors inside. They used everything. They told us they were no longer serving in the dining room and then seated a family inside. They wouldn't accept our card payments and kept 60 cents. Unpleasant staff.

Our child, of course, really enjoyed the "robbers' plate" dish. The portions are so large that you can take something from the parents' plate for the child, and everyone is full. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are friendly.

A restaurant with a winter garden and good home-cooked meals. The portions are generously sized. The food is very tasty, so a visit is highly recommended. The restaurant staff is very friendly, and you feel welcome. Unfortunately, one star is lost for the fact that currently (July 2025) only cash payments are accepted. Something needs to change as soon as possible. So, bring enough cash and try the delicious home-cooked meals for yourself.

We stopped at the Alter Dragoner for lunch twice, both on our way from Berlin to Hamburg. The restaurant is quaint and serves solid German cuisine that not only tastes good but is also filling. The service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but the entrance is easy to miss. There's also a large public parking lot next door.

We went there twice during our vacation. No matter where you sit: whether in the outdoor seating area, the conservatory, or the dining room, everything feels cozy. The menu is clear, but there's something for everyone. Here, less is definitely more! The portions are more than sufficient (you should come very hungry) and very tasty. All I can say about the staff is: incredibly friendly, they're happy to tip and sometimes even give an extra euro or two. Thank you!!!!! Conclusion: We definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!!

The worst thing I've ever experienced.

Last year, we spent a weekend in the area. After touring the castle park, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were absolutely thrilled, both with the food and with the friendly and attentive service. The restaurant has a rustic decor, which we also really liked.

What a feast! Upon entering the restaurant, we felt like gourmets on a secret mission—only with less spying and more good food. The service was faster than our appetites and so friendly that we briefly considered adopting. The food? A poem! If taste could be put into words, Shakespeare would need an extra notebook. Everything was fresh, lovingly prepared, and simply melt-in-the-mouth. In short: If you leave hungry, you've come to the wrong building!

Das Essen war top.Bei den heutigen Preisen,kann es sich leider nicht mehr jeder leisten,ein hohes Trinkgeld zugeben. 2 € waren wohl leider nicht genug(was für uns viel Geld ist und sehr schwer verdient wird ).Die Bedienung guckte bei dem Trinkgeld sehr unzufrieden und sagte weder auf Wiedersehen noch einen schönen Tag.

Small but fine restaurant, I think the boss and the boss were our hosts. Both super friendly and authentic. We were spontaneously nearby and wanted to eat something. My wife had the matjes with fried potatoes, I had the spicy pork steak with a mustard herb crust that was gratinated with cheese and cucumber salad. Both tasted good, the only thing that could be noted is that the fried potatoes could have been a little crispier but everything tasted good, the cucumber salad was really great like grandma's 😊 Thank you for letting us be guests😊

Ok in itself, but the cook...... Steamed brokoli with a hollondaise from the Tetea pack. The steak ou for thin like a veal schnitzel, died twice. Really loveless and the cook... definitely a trained bricklayer

Food was okay. You should show the cook how to make fried potatoes. The schnitzel is from pork, and that is an animal. You should treat the meat with respect and not fry it to death.

I was there with my husband and was completely satisfied. The service was top, a piece of plastic found in the food was immediately forwarded to the kitchen and a drink was canceled accompanied by an apology to us. The food is what you would imagine good home cooking to be. Portion sizes great for the price, gladly again.

Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were soggy, the rump steak was not done to the degree ordered and there was hardly any beef taste. The onions were almost raw and fatty but unseasoned. Then prefer a kebab or a bockwurst at the gas station. The restaurant had a lot of good reviews so we stopped there. Maybe the real chef was sick and the cleaning lady stepped in at short notice?

Very nice service and accommodating :) the food was also good so far. The peas were finished with a dollop of hollandaise, a bit of a shame... I would have liked a homemade one, maybe next time ;) the seasoned meat (ragout fin) was very good, I would definitely eat it again :) The restaurant was very clean and well maintained and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch during the week with 6 people. Despite the house being very well attended, a plaque was easily created for us, great! Our group ate various schnitzel dishes and the large farmer's breakfast. Quality was top and portions were more than adequately sized even for our good eaters. Conclusion: Gladly again!

So I have to say, we were very dissatisfied! The food bordered on outrageous, as did the prices! I'm happy to pay €18 for a schnitzel, but then I also demand that it be good and fresh meat! The sauce tasted like some kind of ready-made stuff and it was €5.60!!! Spezi was stale and anything but edible. The waitresses were still very friendly, and the atmosphere itself was very inviting.

We sat in the glass veranda in front of the restaurant, where the ambience is rather simple, but inside it is rustic and nicer. My paprika schnitzel was very tasty and large. The price at €13.90 is more than OK. Unfortunately there are only 2 vegetarian dishes, but the vegetable platter with fried eggs and French fries was also very tasty and also cheap at €11.90. The restaurant was busy on Saturday lunchtime and we had to wait a little for the food, but the service was very friendly. The toilets are clean.

The staff is very friendly and has a good eye for the guests. No matter what you order, the food is always a treat. You can also visit the restaurant with children. I enjoy coming here with my family.

Showed up there at lunchtime with 11 motorcyclists. I asked beforehand by phone whether the opening times were still correct, but didn't make a reservation straight away. Nevertheless, they had taken precautions and set a large table that was very inviting. No Exuberant menu, but delicious “home cooking+”. Particularly recommended: sour meat with fried potatoes, goulash with dumplings and farmer's breakfast. Freshly made, fried potatoes even a little crispy. Very nice and quick working staff. Opening hours: really 7 days, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., small but understandable restriction: 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. only 2 dishes to choose from, as preparatory work in the kitchen takes place during this time. We were so excited that we stopped there again for lunch four days later on the way back. Marked locally in my maps. From us overall or 5+

The farmer's breakfast for €12.90 was huge and tasted okay. I had wished for a little more flavor, salt and pepper were available on the table so all was well. Something was wrong with the colas. Little carbon dioxide and somehow watered down taste despite the original Coca Cola bottles on the counter. The toilets could use an update. Very nice and courteous service. Great outdoor seating in the winter garden and very beautiful green sheltered garden.

Actually, I've always been a big fan of this restaurant. But today they didn't even want to serve us or prepare anything at 7:30 p.m., even though it's open until 10 p.m. It's a shame, but some people seem to be doing too well these days.

We arrived before opening time, but were greeted very friendly and were able to take a seat. The food was very good and very plentiful. It was a good end to our day trip.

They come in shortly before 2 p.m. The child is hungry and they don't get anything anymore and it's also unfriendly
