I was there today for the Christmas party and was absolutely thrilled!! The service was very friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious!! I also really liked the atmosphere; despite the large number of people, it was easy to have a conversation... The price/performance ratio was more than fair! I can definitely recommend it and I'll definitely be back!!

The restaurant impresses with its friendly and professional service. The host is charming and humorous without sacrificing professionalism. However, this pleasant atmosphere isn't fully complemented by the ambiance. While the space is stylishly designed, the overall impression is somewhat reminiscent of a cafeteria, which detracts from the desired coziness. Appetizer: Beef Carpaccio The beef carpaccio boasted excellent meat quality, but the composition left room for improvement. The pesto wasn't optimally distributed, making the flavor somewhat one-dimensional. A bit of crunch or additional flavors—such as arugula or pine nuts—would have given the dish more depth. The accompanying garlic baguette was disappointing in both quantity (only two small pieces) and quality, which was more reminiscent of a supermarket product. Potential was missed here, making the appetizer a solid, but not outstanding, experience. Main Course: Zurich-Style Sliced ​​Veal The Zurich-style sliced ​​veal was unfortunately disappointing. While the veal was tender and of excellent quality, the preparation was unbalanced in terms of flavor. The strong wine flavor dominated the dish, making it seem heavy and bland. The two thin potato pancakes that accompanied the dish lacked character and offered no exciting texture or complementary flavors. The added bacon slices did provide some saltiness, but would have been better integrated into the potato pancakes for a more harmonious overall composition. Visually, the plate appeared rustic and uninspired. A lighter-colored plate would have made the presentation more appealing and modern. At €26.50, the dish was disappointing and lacked culinary finesse. Dessert: Chocolate Cake The dessert was the highlight of the evening. The chocolate cake with a molten center was expertly crafted and delicious. The accompanying wild berry compote provided a pleasant acidity, but the balance between the cake and the ice cream was off – the acidity was too overpowering. Overall, the dessert, at €8.50, was a satisfying finale, although the balance of flavors was slightly lacking. Conclusion The restaurant scores points with its attentive service and high-quality ingredients, but falls short in the execution of the dishes. The main course, in particular, disappoints both in taste and presentation. The value for money could be improved, especially given the higher prices. For a relaxed evening with good service and decent food, the restaurant is an option, but it lacks the refinement and attention to detail to truly impress.

Since I was visiting from the north, we went to this small, lovely, and very cozy restaurant after visiting the Christmas market, because my friend had already raved about it. Going without a reservation was naive, but we got lucky. The wine (Lugana) was truly excellent. The food was superb and fresh. My friend, himself a chef, praised the quality and preparation of the meat, as well as the sauce. The atmosphere was quiet but very welcoming, and the Ruhr area charm was very apparent to me, a northerner. I felt like I was among really good friends, and what could be better? The delicious, mild Hierbas warmed us up for the journey home. Highly recommended!

This is no way to treat guests. We were seated at a so-called "cat table" even though several tables at the front were unreserved. When we were finally allowed to sit at the front—so graciously—we were practically thrown out after two minutes. Such unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable, utterly disgraceful. I will never go there again!

I stayed overnight in Bochum on business on Monday evening and discovered this excellent restaurant. The regional and hearty cuisine on the menu convinced me to stop here. But then I had the Spanitzel (stuffed with cherizo, onions, chili and honey) with veal, and I experienced an explosion of flavor – simply fantastic and highly recommended! The service (the chef himself) was very friendly and attentive, and the beer was well-tapped and well-chilled. Unfortunately, they only serve 5 – otherwise, it would have been 8 🌟 🤗 For vegetarians, there's salad, savoy cabbage rolls, and tagliatelle. The prices are reasonable. Very good 👍

Monday evening in Bochum on business and had no idea where to go. Then I discovered this rather unassuming restaurant near the main train station. I have to say, the service was top-notch and the food was top-notch. Excellent value for money. For this quality, the restaurant should be packed every night. This was our second time here, and I'm glad I reserved a table—this restaurant is an absolute insider tip! A small but fine menu, super friendly staff, and very, very deliciously prepared dishes. In our case, we had one Sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings, and two Schnitzel with mushroom sauce, fries, and a side salad. And while in other restaurants you feel like you wait forever for drinks and food, at Emma's we were once again surprised by the speed. Thank you for the lovely evening, we would love to come back!

The goulash and soup are NOT recommended! They have no flavor, are very watery, and the meat is very dry. Unfortunately... :( The pilsner, however, is delicious and the staff very friendly :)

Stopped there for lunch today on the way to the Starlight Express. A small schnitzel, fries, salad, and a mushroom cream sauce. Truly delicious, haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The meat was tender and juicy, the fries crispy and juicy inside. Nothing over-seasoned.

Today we had veal schnitzel and Königsberger meatballs here. We were very late, but we were still able to order. The service was very open, friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The ambiance was very pleasant and cozy, the food was delicious, and the value for money was excellent! We'd be happy to go back anytime!

Nicely decorated, but the setting outside on the terrace was a bit lacking in comfort. The food was good; I think the preparation of the asparagus is a matter of taste, so it was okay, and the amount of sauce was very meager considering the price. Nevertheless, everything was delicious, the service attentive, and the ingredients fresh. Based on many great reviews, I had hoped for something more.

Very friendly and accommodating, we've been here again. The food is excellent, just like last time, and they're very accommodating. If you want a cozy, delicious meal, this is a good place. Another nice thing is that the music plays in the background, so you can have a great conversation.

It wasn't the standard "I'm going to smile in a friendly way so I can get a tip" - no! Absolutely authentic. Here and there a casual saying but still something warm and open. Came out great! The food was really good too. The schnitzel and salmon were really good. Also just different than the same old salmon with a few ribbon noodles on the side. We were very pleased. Particularly noteworthy are the seasonal dishes, which perfectly combine freshness and quality. Every detail of the dishes ordered was thought out and reflected the chef's love of craftsmanship. The service was also first class. The staff and the owner personally were attentive without being intrusive and were always available with a smile. We particularly liked that they took the time to explain the dishes and even drinks in detail, which made the whole experience even more personal. The crowning glory was the desserts. a treat for the palate and also a feast for the eyes – a perfect end to a perfect evening. Overall, this restaurant not only offers fantastic food, but also an ambience and service that make the visit an unforgettable experience. Eating on a side street in Bochum city center. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Were there with children, who were also greeted positively. The food was very tasty. We had versions of schnitzel and pork fillet. Everyone was excited. We had to wait a bit for the food, but in my opinion that said it was freshly prepared. All in all, a lovely evening and literally worth the price.

A very attentive restaurateur welcomed us (June 22, 2024) in a timely and friendly manner and our desired dishes were served perfectly. I rarely have the feeling that I can feel “homely” after just two visits. This impression is also due to the friendly service of our service specialist. I will continue to study the lunch menu and am sure that I/we will be guests at the Emma's restaurant more often. With culinary greetings See you soon...:-)

Emma's in Bochum's city center offers home-style cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere. We ate sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings, beef carpaccio and salad and the spanitzel with potato gratin. Unfortunately, the sauerbraten was very dry, the pumpernickel sauce was too dominant and the dumplings didn't taste homemade. Unfortunately, the salad that was draped on the beef carpaccio was not dressed. The Spanitzel tasted good, as did the potato gratin. The service was friendly and prompt. The guest room is modern and inviting. Overall, in our opinion, the food is not above average. For the price you would expect better quality. That's why only two stars for the food.

We looked for a decent restaurant in the evening so we could get a decent meal. It was already 8 p.m. and we asked at short notice whether it would still be possible to come over. 15 minutes later we were sitting in a very nice restaurant. The salad was beautifully prepared with a delicious dressing. The children loved the schnitzel, it was super tasty and absolutely perfect.
