Alte Schmiede - Burger & Steaks in Kassel

I didn't like the burger. It was cold but was assured that it was freshly prepared. The fries were cool. The condition was to make the fries fresh, I didn't want that. I'm not coming back. In the other reviews it was also written that the food was cold.

I ordered Jägerschnitzel with fries and salad. Except for the fries, everything else was inedible!!!!! Meat too dark and out of the deep fryer!!!! Salad with dark leaves. 1 time and never again!!!!! Not recommended!!!

More of a delivery service than a restaurant

Rotten soucream, fries that taste like old grease. Service disaster. The toilet and bathroom are completely filthy. Great importance is attached here to ensuring that the quality is subterranean in every area. I'm looking forward to my stomach pain.

Bottomless food! Onion peel on the burger and everything was cold. Fries were carelessly slapped in and not edible and limp from his father. Homemade lemon dressing?! We only taste vinegar...the breaded feta cheese and the salad are simply tasteless. In addition, the frozen feta had freezer burn and burned in places in the deep fryer. Even after an incomprehensible phone call and a wait of almost 2 hours, that was the crowning achievement. Stay away from this restaurant! Pure cheek...See pictures

For my birthday I had a gourmet block. Otherwise we wouldn't have ended up here. The food was delicious! The service was friendly. The atmosphere was absolutely not nice. From holes in the wall to lamps where the shades were missing or the cables simply came out of the ceiling. The tables were beyond dirty and greasy. After we asked for the table to be cleaned again, the waitress came with a cloth and tried to clean the table, but to no avail. There is a lack of detergent here to clean the tables. We tried our luck with a napkin, which turned out to be black. We didn't use the glasses for the water because they were completely dirty and greasy. We had to put our clothes straight into the washing machine because we felt like we had cooked ourselves. We won't be coming back!

We ordered there again and again for a long time and it was always tasty and in good portions. When we ordered and picked it up today, we had to wait almost 10 minutes until the food was given to us, even though we were told that it was already ready when we arrived. When we got home 10 minutes later everything was absolutely cold, muddy and wet. The chilli cheese fries barely had any sauce, the potato wedges were completely soggy and the burger buns were soggy. We won't get here again. Too bad.

We were there shortly before 6 p.m. and were the only ones there for a long time, which gave me a somewhat strange feeling. Cleanliness was unfortunately also poor, only the glasses had stains. How can you prepare so many dishes that are completely disgusting? We ordered: Chicken Burger - Tastes like a frozen burger patty from a deep fryer. 2x fries, even with french fries salt nothing could be saved... Well, when it's delivered, you don't have to expect anything with a fries, but you should know how to salt a fries... Country wedges - the only thing that worked, but the tzatziki sauce was disgusting again... So now my pasta: I ordered tomato cream sauce with chicken breast strips. I got disgusting pasta with tomato paste and disgusting chicken meat... So the whole order for nothing. I don't understand how you can have such good reviews. First time, never again

Unfortunately that was nothing. The sauce from the bag, the burger fried to death until it was dusty and dry. We won't be coming back.

We remembered the Alte Schmiede in the center of Harleshausen as a rustic restaurant with German cuisine. We found a dingy run-of-the-mill store with a delivery service. Not recommended. In addition, most five-star reviews refer to the previous owner.

We ordered two schnitzels with fries and salad. The salad was drowned in vinegar and the schnitzel tasted as disgusting as anything like old shoe soles. Unfortunately, a waste of money!

Very cozy, the owner works with you. Very personable. Food great. A lot of homemade e.g. B. Mayo, burger patties. You notice that. Still reasonable prices, but I would be willing to pay more because it was very good. We will go there more often.

We visited the restaurant on a Monday evening. Unfortunately the food was very bad, the fries were only reheated and the schnitzel was full of gristle and the mushroom sauce was inedible. When we asked the waitress about it, she replied that there was nothing they could do about it, they would just buy it at Metro... We should please complain directly to Metro... We had chicken steaks with mushroom sauce and fries. Unfortunately, the sauce tasted like Knorr out of the bag and the mushrooms weren't fresh either. We were full, but we don't think it's worth a second visit. There is no draft beer, only bottled beer. The waitress accepted the criticism and said that the sauce was homemade. Unfortunately we were the only guests. The kebab snack bar just around the corner was very busy.

Ordering was very easy and convenient. Order came right on time. Great, that's how it should be. Unfortunately, the food (burgers, fries, chicken wings) flew around in the transport box or the packaging was opened. So acceptance refused. Driver was very friendly and apologized. No broken leg can happen. After a short and friendly phone call with the restaurant, a new delivery was arranged. The new delivery arrived again after just 30 minutes. Now about the food. Unfortunately everything was only lukewarm at most. If it happens with other suppliers too, it's not a knockout criterion for me, I can live with it. However, the food overall was below average. 1. Chicken wings: incredibly dry and felt unseasoned. I threw half of them away because they were just too dry and fried. 2. Fries: felt like they were twice fried. Also dry and hard. Here, too, unfortunately half went into the trash. 3. Burger: what can I say. The patty was also dry. Little sauce on the burger, luckily I have barbecue sauce at home, that worked. Nothing special in terms of taste. CONCLUSION: Maybe I was just unlucky today. However, this bad luck cost me around €25. I was hoping to discover a new, great burger shop for myself. That doesn't seem to be the case. For me it's more of a store like the ones we have many times in Kassel. For me there will be no repeat.

After the review was deleted: Absolute crap shop, food was ordered there twice (paid via Lieferando) and simply not delivered, despite it being paid for. Calls were ignored, called the following day and the woman on the phone was absolutely disrespectful and demanded that my husband, who was disabled, could still come over.

We went there spontaneously for dinner today. The food was fresh and super tasty. The fries were really a hit. I just say outdoor pool fries.😋 The boss was extremely nice and we really had a lot of fun together. That definitely wasn't the last time we came here. Thanks! 😁

I like to write good reviews, but the locations must also meet the relevant requirements. Unfortunately, despite my generally positive attitude, it is not possible here. I have a voucher book in which the restaurant advertises itself. I went there with my family and was a bit suspicious as soon as I entered - absolute emptiness. We were shown to a table outside by a friendly waitress. This was not cleaned properly beforehand. My wife actually wanted to leave, but decided to give the store a chance. There we sat and waited, waited and waited. After about 20 minutes I went to the counter and said that we would like to order something. It took another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive - the restaurant was empty. We ordered chicken schnitzel and citizens. The poultry schnitzel reminded me more of a breaded chicken breast, came from the deep fryer and was quite small compared to what is known as a schnitzel portion. The citizens were plain, tasteless and not crispy. The “Alte Schmiede” sounds great at first, but still has a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant.

Price-performance ratio is 5 stars. Good honest burgers, Very nice service. We would love to come back with our friends

By far the tastiest burger I've ever eaten. Went there with the voucher book and it was really great. Very friendly, very tasty. Prices are completely reasonable and even the small portions are enough to fill you up.

We have ordered burgers at the Alte Schmiede several times. It was always very tasty and the portions were generous. My favorites are the 'Nutcracker' and the 'Bluebear'.

Unfortunately the food wasn't really recommended! Unfortunately, the schnitzels were very dry and tough, the “starter” offered (sweet potato fries with peanut-pepperoni sauce) came with the main course and was therefore already cold after a short time. Communication with the service staff was somewhat difficult due to language barriers, but friendly nonetheless. The restaurant itself was a bit old and there were defects in the toilet. Overall, for me personally, it's not a location that I would necessarily go to again!

One of the best addresses for delivered burgers in the whole city. I've been ordering my burgers here for almost 5 years now and have been satisfied every time. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. There is a wide range of burgers and other things on the menu. I would particularly like to point out that the Alte Schmiede is one of the few restaurants where you can get fresh, crispy fries delivered. The portions are also very generous. Eating on site is also worth it as it tastes a little fresher and better. The service is also very friendly. As far as the ambience is concerned, the restaurant is rather rustic and a bit old, but cozy and clean. Clear recommendation from me, I will continue to eat or order here!

You can get good burgers with tasty homemade sauces and various other dishes - including vegetarian ones - at fair prices here. Plus a nice beer.

The two of us had dinner in the evening. To start, we were treated to crispy sweet potato fries, which were accompanied by two first-class homemade dips. Followed by a fresh, lovingly prepared salad with fried minced meat rolls and a burger. The fresh burger buns were also great; all in all very consistent. Big cinema for little money. The burgers were okay and were delivered quickly. However, there was far too little sauce on the burgers, so they were pretty dry. The background is probably that a delivery service is mainly offered there. So use a little sauce so that the burgers don't get soggy. I thought it was good that another guest had more sauce on the burger because of my comment, which the guest also liked. The atmosphere is rustic and not necessarily made for long stays.

Great food, nice service and a lot of effort despite a lot of traffic and a small team. Rustic atmosphere and behind you smell like the fries you ate before. Still absolutely recommended. Price-performance tip-top! You won't find burgers for around €10 anywhere else anymore.

Ordered food 2.5 hours ago. When you call after 1.5 hours you find out that the driver has just left. After 2 hours we call the driver, at first he doesn't answer, then he just hangs up! No food, miserable service!

We ordered a Viennese chicken schnitzel and a Caesar salad on November 20th, 2023. The schnitzel had probably been sizzling for a bit too long, and the fries were neither good in terms of taste nor consistency. The salad made me sad, too little and too watery dressing, no croutons and the chicken was dry. My wife's side salad was probably okay, hence 2 stars. Please improve the quality.

We discovered the "Alte Schmiede" through the voucher book and after reading the reviews here we were a bit conflicted about what we should expect. We were positively surprised by very friendly staff and really good food! We had two vegetarian burgers - one with shepherd's cheese, one with oat cheese, two brownies, sweet potato fries, classic fries and still water. The burgers were really great! The peanut chili sauce was absolutely great and the brownies were a poem! Salt and pepper were right at the table and there were decent steak knives. The portions were large and the food was fresh. We had our food within 20 minutes, which was really quick! The service was very friendly and very attentive. Our table was near one of the speakers of the music system and we were asked directly whether the volume was comfortable for us or not. We were asked whether everything was OK with our food or whether we would like anything else, very attentive and not intrusive - great! But you have to say clearly: the shop is getting old - very visible. The ambience doesn't really fit together, the music and the menu don't really match. You can't pay with a card, parking spaces nearby are difficult to get and the restaurant can only be entered via a side entrance, which you quickly miss when the delivery car is in front of it, then you first have to go past the kitchen to get into the dining room get. At some point it no longer makes sense to reuse a beer mat many times. The menus urgently need to be renewed, not only because the covers have been through many, many hands and look the same, but also because the cards are full of typos. Some of it is very funny and makes you smile - I wanted to share the "Geglügel Bürger" here because it made me laugh so much - but with the overall impression around it, there are clear doubts as to whether the restaurant is really a good choice was. But neither the service nor the food deserved that. We hope that necessary renovations and renovations can be made to the restaurant, because there are still a few burgers that really appealed to us.

Phew, I would really like to write something positive but that is very difficult. Card payment not possible - but we were not informed of this. We (unfortunately) ignored the spelling errors in the map. The burger descriptions were so incredibly good! What we got is the direct opposite. I had a tiny dollop of 'chilli cheese sauce' so it was super dry. 2 chunks of bacon hardly worth mentioning and a whole red onion simply stacked in slices to make the burger look bigger. No wonder we were the only guests on Saturday evening.

Das Brötchen war etwas trocken.

Essen war ok, Brötchen hat keine angenehme Konsistenz, Geschmack war sehr eintönig, aber nicht schlecht. Was mich mehr gestört hat war die Lieferzeit von knapp 3 Stunden (an einem Sonntag Abend, aber trotzdem viel zu lang)

Ein sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Restaurant. Es ist war nur eine nette ältere Frau da, die Service und Küche machte. Da wir die einzigen Gäste im Lokal waren, wurden wir schnell bedient. Das Essen kam innerhalb 9 Minuten. Leider schmeckte es so, als sei es nur schnell erwärmt worden. Nochmal kommen wir nicht wieder, meinem Magen ging es danach leider gar nicht gut.

Der vielleicht beste Burger, den ich je gegessen habe! Einsame Spitze! Großartige Qualität der Zutaten, top Brötchen, hervorragendes Fleisch, perfekt abgestimmter Geschmack. Die Süßkartoffelpommes waren der Hammer! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Das Essen ist topp. Nette Leute, leider durch "Bring Dienst" Kisten im Restaurant nicht mehr so schön. Auch der Biergarten wäre topp, müsste aber wieder etwas "Liebe" investiert werden. Muss hier leide eine schlecht Bewertung geben… habe ein Schnitzel mit Pommes bestellt. Die Pommes waren komplett wabblig und nicht ganz durch, das Schnitzel war meiner Vermutung nach eindeutig Tk Wahre und nicht mal die “gute“😅. Der dazu gelieferte Salat war einfach lieblos, echt schade da das Restaurant auf den ersten Blick echt einen vernünftigen Eindruck machte. Für mich von der Küche her leider nur ne zweitklassige Pommessbude.

Ganz ehrlich, trotz Lieferung knusprige Pommes, Schnitzel wellt sich die Panade wie bei einem echten Wiener Schnitzel, einfach mega!!! Ok die Rahmsosse ist glaube fertig Produkt, aber bei dem guten Essen und Preis kann ich damit leben!!!!

Wir haben gestern das erste Mal bestellt. Lieferung hat eine gute Stunde gedauert, wie angegeben. Wir waren sehr positiv überrascht und sind fast geplatzt. Wir hatten den doppel gemoppelten Burger und den Neuseelandburger und eine Portion Pommes. Die Burger waren der pure Wahnsinn und einfach köstlich. Sehr große, saftige Patties mit leckeren Soßen. Wir werden definitiv wieder etwas vor Ort bestellen!

Sehr professionelle und freundliche Bedienung. Wir hatten ein 250g Rumpsteak in perfekter Ausführung und einen sehr leckeren Burger. Die " Alte Schmiede" bekommt unsere Empfehlung.

echt een verrassing en een aanrader voor liefhebbers. goede burgers (met spinazie erop!), ook veggie, lekker bier en wijn en een super vriendelijke en geintresseerde bediening. En geen muziek op de speaker! wat een verademing, want ook geen k*tmuziek dus! en we konden ons daardoor helemaal concentreren op elkaar, de conversatie en ons gekauw. Prachtig interieur ook: heel schoon en comfortabel.

Super Essen immer lecker, und sehr nette Atmosphäre

Sehr leckere argentinisches Rindfleisch. Gute Preise. Nette Bedienung. Man kann auch im Hinterhof draußen sitzen.

Wir sind über einen Extra-Gutschein vom Schlemmerblock auf das Restaurant aufmerksam geworden und haben es auf unserem Wochenendtrip nach Kassel gleich ausprobiert. Die Alte Schmiede hat gehalten, was auch schon diverse andere Besucher geschrieben haben: Gute Küche, gemütliches Ambiente und sehr nette Bedienung. Wir hatten beide Steaks und beide Steaks waren genau auf den Punkt so zubereitet, wie wir uns das vorgestellt/bestellt haben. Dazu ein leckerer Salat und eine riesige Portion Pommes Frittes - alles perfekt und absolut empfehlenswert! Und nicht abschrecken lassen, wenn evtl. im Restaurant an sich nicht so viel los ist - das Essen ist immer frisch, da viel bestellt und geliefert/abgeholt wird.

Auf der Suche nach einem "Feierabend-Bierchen" sind wir auf der Durchfahrt hier gelandet, zum Glück mit einem Parkplatz auf der anderen Straßenseite. Gemütliches Gasthaus, wenn auch die weißen Tischdecken nicht wirklich zum Rest des Lokals passen... Das gezapfte Bitburger Pils war gut temperiert! Der Preis hierfür (0,5l = 3,60 €) ist in Ordnung. Obwohl wir eigentlich nur etwas trinken wollten, haben wir uns doch noch eine "Dürre Runde - luftgetrocknet" (mit Brot und Butter) für 7,90 € sowie einen Salatteller mit in Knoblauch gebratenen Garnelen (an Balsamico und Baguette) für 8,90 € bestellt. Die Ahle Wurscht wurde geschnitten serviert und war sehr schmackhaft. Die Zusammenstellung des Salates erinnerte leider eher an einzelne Portionen von einem typischen Salat-Buffet (Tomate, helle Bohnen, geraspelte Möhren, Eisberg, Salatgurke), dazu drei Garnelen und drei Scheibchen Baguette. Warum der Salat mit Schmand serviert wurde, ist unverständlich. Man kann den Salat essen, muss man aber kein zweites Mal... Der Service war insgesamt sehr nett. Wir kommen sicher wieder, probieren dann aber mal die Schnitzel :-)

Regionale und gutbürgerliche Küche vom Feinsten. Frisch, mit Liebe zubereitet (das schmeckt man) und absolut lecker.
