Alte Gastwirtschaft in Plauen

Please don't go there! We happened to be passing by and were very hungry – a huge mistake. We waited over an hour, and our child's soup never arrived. The server was rude and started arguing with us about a small discount. Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. Read the reviews before you go in here!

Judging by previous opinions, it really depends on which staff are on duty. Unfortunately, we were unlucky. Since we had tickets to an event at the Parktheater that evening, we reserved a table for four for 4 p.m. The reservation worked, but then disaster struck. After about 10 minutes, the waitress took our drinks order. After another 10 minutes, she told us there would be a 10-minute delay due to a shift change. After 30 minutes, we had our drinks. A few minutes later, the waitress came and wanted to charge us for the shift change. This included the food that hadn't been delivered yet. We asked how long it would take for the food to arrive. When we asked the kitchen, she told us it would take about 30 minutes. By then it was 5 p.m. We paid for our drinks and left this disorganized place. What a shame, because based on the outside appearance alone, you'd want to linger in this restaurant. No blame to the young waitress, who was visibly embarrassed to give us this bad news

We stopped for one night in Plauen on our way up from Italy to Rostock and found this restaurant. We had two, what we think were, local dishes, Rinderroulade and Fleischberg, and these were amazingly good!

Incompetent and helpless. Salad without sauce ('ran out') Caffe Latte with cloudy milk: full price was due.

Located on Plauen's town hall square. Very friendly service. Ideal for beer drinkers. They even serve several different types of dark beer.

If I could, I wouldn't even give this restaurant a star. My husband and I arrived in Plauen today after a 60 km bike ride from Rehau. We were looking for a cozy place to eat this evening. We ended up at the "Alte Gastwirtschaft." We waited a long time for our food. No wonder, the chef there is absolutely terrible. The underside of my farmer's breakfast omelet was completely charred. Unfortunately, the server couldn't be blamed for this; she apologized to me several times. The chef got out of it by saying it wasn't black, but brown. However, he would have been willing to try to make me a new one. I didn't want to wait that long again. Instead, I was offered an ice cream on the house. I insisted on leaving it as it was and deducting the price of the dish, €13.90, from my bill. Ultimately, I didn't have to pay. What made me very dissatisfied with this place, however, was the lack of any response from the chef himself. That's a sure way to scare away customers. Thank you for this wonderful evening. We'll definitely be back when there's a new chef.

My partner and I were not satisfied 😡 the drinks came very late and when I wanted to pay the food was ready. I then went to pay without the food, just paid for the drinks and left 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 a lot of guests left then too

From the moment you enter the Alte Gastwirtschaft, you immediately feel welcome. The lovingly restored ambiance exudes history, coziness, and genuine charm – my photos speak for themselves! The rustic decor with its many small details creates a cozy feeling, almost like visiting good friends. I would particularly like to highlight the exceptionally friendly service – attentive, warm, and always with a smile. You immediately notice that the work here is done with passion. Even small special requests were fulfilled without hesitation. The food? Excellent! Homemade, fresh, and prepared with love – typically Vogtland and simply delicious. The drinks menu also offers something for everyone. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable visit – I will definitely be back and recommend the Alte Gastwirtschaft to anyone who appreciates genuine hospitality and an authentic atmosphere. The food and service were very good. They offer several types of dark beer. 👍 The food, like home-cooked food, was absolutely top-notch. We had chicken liver with onions and tongue. They also constantly asked if we wanted anything else. The service was more than attentive.

The food is very tasty...we are from Aue and have already been there twice...we will be back.....

We went to this restaurant for a family dinner and felt completely at home. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was delicious but might be a bit too spicy for some. The dishes are spicy, but still very tasty. Since everything is freshly prepared, you should plan on waiting a bit.

The old inn is something very special! Quaint! Matching wall painting, very comfortable to linger! I ordered the dish "Friendship of Nations", consisting of 3 specialties from Bohemia (the dumplings), from Bavaria (the liver cheese) and from the Vogtland (the sauerkraut and horseradish sauce). The latter tasted divine and the combination was excellent.!! The waiter tried very hard to fulfill my special request. This small old inn is a gem in Plauen. A Schwäble from the Donaumoos

Very cozy atmosphere! Beer and food are very good and, above all, affordable.

Four of us had a short vacation in Plauen. The first question, where do we go for dinner? We were immediately impressed by the “Alte Gastwirtschaft” with its offer. Everything inside is rustic, just old. The food was great, everyone had something different. The roulade, the fish and the pork knuckle, simply top. Very good price-performance ratio, despite extra charges for the supplements. Eating like your mother's, were very enthusiastic.

The waiter was already heavily intoxicated at 5:30 p.m. and therefore difficult to understand. The food was good, but we won't be coming here again.

This is our first time in Plauen, and we wanted to have a nice meal – and we succeeded! The roulade at the "Alte Gastwirtschaft" was very good, BUT the Sauerbraten was AMAZING (my grandma's recipe, really!) A+T

If you don't have high expectations of the food, this is the place for you. Food very poorly prepared. You wait forever for the food (approx. 2 hours) One (!) waiter is friendly, but completely overwhelmed. If you just want to have a drink, this pub is ok.

The “Alte Gastwirtschaft” lured us with a promising offer: a sign in front of the entrance announced roast pork for 11.90 euros and other meat dishes from 12.90 euros. We entered curious and hungry, expecting to find good value for money. But unfortunately this turned out to be deceptive. As soon as we sat down and browsed the menu, we noticed that the prices weren't as attractive as the sign suggested. The supposedly cheap main courses were marred by an additional cost: the side dishes are not included in the price and have to be ordered separately - at a whopping 4.50 euros per portion. This means that a simple dish quickly becomes much more expensive than you expect. What was particularly irritating was that even with roast pork, a dish that is traditionally served with dumplings, the side dish was charged extra. The fact that you have to pay extra for a full meal leaves a bad aftertaste and makes the offer seem misleading. Although the quality of the food is okay and the ambience of the restaurant is certainly appealing, the price structure and the lack of transparency in pricing significantly cloud the overall picture. Anyone who is lured by the offers on the sign in front of the door should be prepared to end up paying more than they originally thought. Overall, an ambivalent impression remains: While the kitchen offers solid home cooking, the pricing causes dissatisfaction. It's a shame, because with a little more openness the "Alte Gastwirtschaft" would definitely have the potential to make its guests happier.

1. The waitress was constantly out smoking. 2. The fried potatoes tasted charred and the schnitzel tasted like dishwashing liquid. 3. The bill was around 30% higher than what was shown on the card. Never again!!!

I don't think I've ever had such a bad meal... When we arrived there were no chairs... we made a reservation. The waiter was already drunk and very unfriendly. I couldn't cut or eat my food...ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN!

If you can live with the fact that not everything is homemade (dumpling dough, frozen vegetables) you will find down-to-earth food here at a reasonable price. I would particularly like to highlight our experience with the service: a very attentive, friendly young man who brought the drinks as soon as they were ordered and also tried very hard to ensure our well-being. Great praise !

Black beer bar, is quite nice with a view of the market square. Unfortunately we were late for dinner.

Was there today, the waiter was a huge disaster. Only after three quarters of an hour did we have to ask if we could order something to drink. When we asked after two hours of waiting when we would get our food, he became rude and said we can go too. So we definitely won't go there again. The way he treats the guests is terrible.

To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed with this restaurant. We had dinner there with a large number of people yesterday evening (July 19th) and both tables and food had been pre-ordered. Drinks worked reasonably well, the food didn't go so well, we waited almost an hour despite pre-ordering! Then some food wasn't edible, salmon was black (burnt), farmer's breakfast looked more like mush, and my roulade was big, but even after removing 10 wooden skewers it couldn't be cut! Firstly, the knife wasn't sharp or anything and the meat was tough like an old car tire from 1945. I was very disappointed and honestly I don't recommend it, I'm sorry but that's how it is.

Food was good. Price-performance is right. However, if you expect service, you should go somewhere else. You can die of thirst in the economy here. Wiping the table would also be good for the seats outside. You can go somewhere else.

Very nice old atmosphere, in the heart of the city of Plauen. Friendly, considerate staff. Good prices, delicious food.

We give our visit to the old inn 3/5 stars. The food was good, but we were told when we ordered that only a limited selection was available. Unfortunately, we then had to wait quite a long time for the food, for which we apologized several times for the conditions and explained the situation as staff shortages. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. Unfortunately, NO card payment was possible.

So the young waitress is super friendly and does her job very well, but the rest is anything but good. The owner is totally drunk and the man who wants to act as a waiter because he is also drunk and unfriendly to the guests. The waiter forgets to place orders in the kitchen (so that two people didn't get any more food!), tells you when ordering, if two people want a Jägerschnitzel but with different side dishes (fries and the other fried potatoes), he cheekily says no if then please all have the same side dish! The chef can't cook, everything tastes bland, nothing seasoned. Conclusion once and never again I just feel sorry for the friendly waitress because she does a good job and is just very friendly and helpful!

We would like to thank you for the very friendly service, the delicious food and the harmonious ambience. The vaulted cellar is also a real discovery and a great idea for a later visit. The dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty, overall a visit that we will remember fondly.

Basically, this location could be a rustic, cozy and traditional inn. Unfortunately, there is a lack of cleanliness (cobwebs everywhere, musty smell due to mold) and suitable staff. You could eat the food but not with an appetite. Overall not recommended. Once and never again.

Oh well. Food was inedible and we had to give almost everything back. Everything greasy, frozen goods and from the same deep fryer

Tolle kleine Kneipe mit sehr gutem Essen.

Nach langer Suche, wurde wir freundlich empfangen und man hatte für uns Platz für einen schönen Abend mit guten Essen.

Sehr schönes Ambiente. Deftiges und gutes Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Tolles regionales Essen, frisches Bier. Wer auch mal Einheimische treffen will, ist hier richtig.

Nette Bierbar. Leider war das Bier zu warm. Ansonsten hatten wir eine schöne Zeit.

Leckere Gerichte im Bereich Hausmannskost zu sehr angemessenen Preisen.

Essen kann man hier gut. Der Aussengarten zum Altmarkt ist sehr schön angelegt. Preis /Leistung ist im oberen Segment anzufinden ( Aber heute fast überall) Trotzdem allem zu empfehlen

Haben einen schönen Abend mit Freunden hier verbracht 🥳 Cocktails sind lecker. Service sehr nett. Unsere Freude waren hier schon öfters essen und immer zufrieden, das werden wir bei Gelegenheit nachholen.

Pro Person umgerechnet ca.20€ mit trinken.Unsere.Bedienung (die eigentlich nur eingesprungen ist durch viel.Puplikumsverkehr auf dem.Marktplatz)war wirklich sehr sehr freundlich!!10 🌟 Die eigentliche Servicekraft jedoch machte einen gestresten eindruck und schaute auch so.Auf der suche nach der Toilette(da leider nicht ausgeschildert und auch nach rufen keinerlei reaktion kahm)ging meine Tochter eine Treppe.runter wo jedoch nicht die Toilette war!Daraufhin.die.Servicekraft sehr ungehalten und unfreundlich reagierte! Ambiente.von innen klein.aber fein!

Das Essen war einfach perfekt.😊😋🥰 Ich hatte Sülze mit Bratkartoffeln und Remoulade( denke selbstgemacht) und meine Freundin Bambes mit Quark( auch selbstgemachte) und Pfannengemüse. Weder das Eine noch das Andere, war mit Fett durchzogen, noch war es fad im Geschmack und alles absolut frisch zubereitet. Die Bedienung war immer da, aber nicht aufdringlich. Essen kam schnell, aber eben nicht zu schnell, weil gute Küche auch etwas Zeit braucht. Also ich persönlich bin absolut positiv überrascht und würde fast sagen, dass es ein kleiner Geheimtipp ist. Preise auch absolut in Ordnung, Ambiente auch sehr sehr schön... die Liebe zum Detail ist in jedem Zentimeter spürbar. Der einzige Minuspunkt ist die Lautstärke, aber das spricht doch irgendwie auch für die Gaststätte, weil sehr gut besucht.🥰🥰🥰 "Alte Gastwirtschaft" wir sehen uns gerne wieder.😋🤗😋🤗🥰😘

Lecker Essen, freundliches Personal

Urige Kneipe mit Kupferbier Ausschank. Lecker 😋

Wir wollten uns außen auf die Stühle setzen, wobei die Bedienung, die draußen am rauchen war zu uns meinte, dass die Stühle sehr wackeln und beinahe zusammenbrechen. Daraufhin berührte er einen Stuhl, bei dem dann die armlehne zur seite kippte und wir haben uns deswegen lieber nach innen gesetzt. 2 Tage später steht der gleiche Tisch mit den gleichen kaputten Stühlen vor dem Lokal. Dies finde ich sehr fahrlässig, da es nur eine Frage der Zeit ist bis sich hier jemand verletzt. Vor allem verstehe ich es nicht, wenn das Problem bei den angestellten bekannt ist. Das Bier war sehr gut.

Alte urige Gastwirtschaft mit sehr gutem vogtländischen Essen, egal ob Fisch oder Fleisch, zu moderaten Preisen. Hier kann mann sich noch wohl fühlen. Schnelle und freundliche Bedienung.

Von außen sehr einladend aber von innen etwas sanierungsbedürftig. Ansonsten sehr freundliches Personal und das Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis völlig in Ordnung.

Leider gab es kein einziges Fassbier, keine Speisen mit Ei- es waren keine da. Essen gut, Service bei Rechnung überfordert.

Wir hatten gestern für 4 Personen reserviert.Tolles Lokal,Nette Bedienung und das Essen war sehr lecker.Nur die Gesellschaft neben an war zu laut,man hat sein eigenes Wort nicht mehr verstanden.Die dachten bestimmt sie sind alleine in der Gaststätte.Sonst ist das Lokal sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, war mal was neues in unseren Augen. Wenn man mal ein mega guten Schwarzbier trinken möchte , sollte es mal besuchen gehen.

Personal ist freundlich, war aber leicht überfordert, da zu viele Gäste.
