Alpensteig in Kempten (Allgäu)

Wir waren samstags, Anfang Juni hier essen. Die Bewertungen haben die Erwartung hoch getrieben. Aber wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Sehr zuvorkommender Service. Sehr gutes regionales Essen. Nettes Ambiente. Wir hatten das Glück einen Tisch draußen zu ergattern. Aktuell würde ich zu einer Reservierung raten, das Alpensteig ist definitiv einen Besuch wert

Vorweg, Service sehr freundlich und schnell. Das Essen war ok. Wir hatten die Triologie. Die Nudeln waren da noch etwas zu al dente und der Speckknödel für meinen Geschmack zu trocken.

Bis auf die Toilettensituation alles Top!

Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich und urig eingerichtet, man fühlt sich gleich wohl. Leider konnte das Essen hier nicht ganz mithalten. Alles war sehr fad und die Schlutzkrapfen sind im Öl geschwommen. Das Beste war noch der Kaiserschmarrn. Reservierung wird empfohlen.

Das Restaurant war voll, wir 3 hatten nicht reserviert, trotzdem durften wir uns an einen schönen Tisch setzen! Das Essen und das Bier waren ausgezeichnet! Das Personal war überaus Freundlich! Das Lokal kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Sehr gutes leckeres Essen, man musste nichts nachwürzen. Großes Lob. Freundlicher und netter Service. Beide Damen waren auf Zack. Wir kommen wieder.

Rustikal und doch irgendwie modern (mit witzigen Sprüchekarten dekoriert). Bedienung super freundlich, Essen hat etwas gedauert - war das Warten absolut wert, da alles frisch und lecker (im Bild Cordon Bleu mit Bratkartoffeln). Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen…

An einem nicht so lauen Aprilabend im Jahre des Herren 2026 hatte ich unverhofft die Gelegenheit diese Gastronomie zu genießen. Ja, die können "Steaks".....Ich durfte ein Peffersteak mit Steakhouse Pommes genießen und mein Gegenüber ein "Steak Pur". Wenn die Küche im gleichen Atemzug sowohl Mediumrare als auch Medium à point kann, dann bin ich als Gast angekommen. Neben dem sehr süffigen Primitivos gab es auch noch Südtiroler Spezialitäten auf der Nachtischkarte, wie zum Beispiel Marillenknödel und Bratkrapferl. Meine Gastgeberin, die Sandra, hat sich alle Mühe geben und war damit sehr erfolgreich. Gerne komme ich wieder wenn ich in Kempten Station machen muss. "Pfiat enk Gott, ihr liabn Leit. Danke fir die schiane Zeit. Pfiati bis zum nächschtn Mol!"

Wir waren das erste Mal hier.Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt.Es war sehr voll und das Essen kam deshalb auch sehr spät.Aber es hat sich gelohnt.Das Essen war eine Wucht.

Der Alpensteig ist für uns immer wieder ein Highlight. Das Team ist aufmerksam und herzlich, das Ambiente angenehm und einladend. Besonders das Cordon Bleu und der Kaiserschmarren sind absolut empfehlenswert. Man hat fast das Gefühl, der Gott des Bieres wacht hier darüber, dass stets das passende Getränk serviert wird. Insgesamt ein rundum stimmiges Erlebnis, bei dem man merkt, wie viel Sorgfalt und Liebe im Detail steckt. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch.

Waren zum wiederholten Male im Alpensteig zu Gast, jedesmal perfekt! Kommen gern wieder!

Traumhaftes Restaurant mit wundervollem Ambiente. Käsespätzle müssen probiert werden genauso wie das leckere eiskalte Bübble Bier.

Zusatz: Wir waren mittlerweile schon zweimal im Alpensteig zum Abendessen, und waren beide Male absolut begeistert - sowohl vom Essen, als auch vom Personal bzw. den Servicekräften und dem Inhaber. Super freundlich, offen und zuvorkommend, so stellen wir uns das vor. Gepaart mit dem wahnsinnig gemütlichen urigen Bergstil ein perfekter und zwangloser Abend. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder!

Wir haben kurzfristig an einem Samstag Abend einen Tisch bekommen und wurden sehr fürsorglich und professionell umsorgt. Es gibt traditionelle Gerichte aus der Umgebung in einem sehr guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Wir waren begeistert 🥰 ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Restaurant mit viel Herz. Das Essen ist himmlisch und man genießt jeden einzelnen Bissen (Tiroler Tris und SchweineFilet mit Champions) Dem ganzen hat ein köstlicher Kaiserschmarrn die Krone aufgesetzt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und werden es auch weiter empfehlen. Danke für dieses Highlight am Sonntag.

Mega freundlich und super lecker 😋

Nach unserem ersten Besuch vor ca. 2 Jahren waren wir vergangenes Wochenende wieder einmal im Alpensteig. Vorweg: Der Besuch hat sich voll und ganz gelohnt! Der Gastraum ist urgemütlich und versprüht jede Menge Alpen-Charme. Hier bleibt man auch gerne noch ein wenig länger sitzen. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist klein aber fein, hier sollte wirklich jeder etwas Leckeres für seinen Geschmack finden: Südtiroler und Allgäuer Spezialitäten, so wie man es erwartet. Alle bestellten Gerichte war superlecker und gschmackig… Angefangen vom gemischten Salat und der Vinschgauer Brotsuppe über Hirtenmakkaroni und Rostbraten bis hin zum Kaiserschmarrn. Das hat einfach gepasst. Service war jederzeit höflich und freundlich. Etwas abgefallen ist die Präsenz des Service am Tisch. Wir saßen sehr lange vor leeren Tellern und Gläsern. Und auch beim Abräumen der Teller sollte die Nachfrage nach weiteren Getränken obligatorisch sein. Das ist nicht nur gut für die Zufriedenheit des Gastes, sondern auch für die eigene Kasse 💶 Essen, Ambiente und Preis/Leistung haben voll überzeugt, daher gibt es (trotzdem) eine 5*-Bewertung 🙏🏼

Der Service war sehr gut und zügig. Das Essen war auch für das Auge schön angerichtet und super lecker. Die Portionen sind absolut ausreichend, fast zu viel. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung. Jederzeit wieder!!

Von Außen sehr unscheinbar, innen richtig tolle Atmosphäre und mega tolles Lokal. Sehr schön dekoriert und mit Liebe geführt. Essen war sehr lecker und frisch. War sehr voll, deswegen war die Wartezeit etwas länger und die Aufmerksamkeit der sehr netten Bedienungen nicht auf 100 %. Dafür einen Stern abgezogen aber sonst ein richtig tolles Lokal. Ansonsten echt Top. Lokal war ein Highlight von unserem Urlaub.

Sehr schönes Lokal in Kempten. Das Essen war sehr gut und viel. Die Ambiente ein Mix aus modern, gemütlich, Almhütte und uhrig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Einziges Manko fand ich, war das schließen um 22 Uhr an einem Samstag. Wir wären noch gerne sitzen geblieben und hätte noch was getrunken. Vielleicht war es keine Hauptsaison, keine Ahnung. Ansonsten kann ich das Lokal empfehlen.

Sehr schöner Abend in gemütlicher Atmosphäre in der Mitte der Altstadt von Kempten. Die Allgäuer Spezialitäten sind sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Das Himbeer /Speck Dressing am Salat mega. Gemütliche Atmosphäre im liebevoll gestalteten Gastraum. Leider hat die Küche zugemacht, sonst hätten wir noch mehr gegessen 😊

We ate at Alpensteig for the first time yesterday, and what can I say – we have a new favorite restaurant in Kempten! My roast beef with onions was divine; I've never had better, and my husband's cordon bleu was fantastic! Excellent food, a great atmosphere, and perfect service from staff who clearly love their jobs – and it shows! Thank you so much for the wonderful service! 🥰

Delicious food and very friendly staff with excellent service. This was our fourth visit, and we haven't been disappointed yet. My personal recommendation: Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake). For me, there's hardly a better one than the one served here. Otherwise, the appetizers, main courses, and desserts are all highly recommended. We'll definitely be back.

I think everything is great, the decoration is really nice, it's not boring, there's music in the background, there's enough food and the service is very friendly, it just took a while for the food to be ready because there were restaurants where it was quicker, but it actually didn't take that long at all, the menu was great too, lots of choice, there's something for everyone, so I think the restaurant is really great👏👏👍😀

What a pleasant surprise. Great food, authentic atmosphere, and fantastic staff. We found it on Google and had a wonderful meal. We'll be happy to come back next time we're in Kempten.

We had an excellent meal here. Both the freshly prepared Cordon Bleu and the Schlutzkrapfen were both delicious and reasonably priced. We accompanied them with a wonderful Lagrein from Elena Walch, which was also very reasonably priced. And if we receive a more friendly welcome on our next visit when the restaurant opens at 5 p.m., we'll also give the service 5 stars.

An incredibly beautiful, cozy, little restaurant in the old town. Everything is lovingly designed. The owners were very, very friendly from the very first glance and were incredibly kind to the children. The food was sensational. We had the trilogy, the cordon bleu, and two children's dishes. Everything was soooo delicious and fresh. The fried potatoes were amazing and the salad dressing was divine. We'll always be happy to come back when we're in the area, and keep it up. You're doing a great job!

The "Alpensteig" is a lovingly decorated restaurant in Kempten's old town. We had a very good meal there. Regional cuisine at fair prices – that's what you'd expect! Also worth mentioning are the two friendly waitresses. We felt very comfortable.

We visited Alpensteig on Friday and were absolutely thrilled. Super friendly service, a great atmosphere, and my delicious cream of pumpkin soup (definitely a must-try).

We had the Gröstl (a kind of pork tenderloin) and the pork fillet... unbelievably delicious! And for a quick snack, hazelnut and hay schnapps... highly recommended! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality!

We went there because of the good 4.8 reviews. The ambiance is very pleasant and cozy. The service is friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, the food doesn't quite live up to the good reviews. Overall, everything was fine, but nothing more. We won't remember it.

I don't understand how the average rating of 4.8 came about! Were my expectations too high? In any case, this trip wasn't worth it. It was supposed to be bacon dumpling soup and a trilogy of bacon dumplings, cheese spaetzle, and shepherd's macaroni, with a mixed salad that was overwhelmed by the raspberry dressing, just as carelessly arranged and prepared as the previously mentioned components! What a shame!

First of all, the welcome. The staff is very helpful. We were able to get a table for two people and a dog. They even offered water for our dog (perhaps customary in Germany but not in Belgium). As for the food, it's delicious, traditional cuisine. The prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and the decor is understated, in a positive way. So, thank you for the time spent with you.

The inn is very cozy and quaint, and the staff were very friendly. The food was excellent—I've never had such a good cordon bleu. The price/performance ratio is absolutely reasonable.

Following the server's recommendation, I chose the homemade Cordon Bleu. This, along with the raspberry dressing for the salad, was excellent and very tasty. Vanilla ice cream with roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil for dessert were also a real treat. This inspiration and the creation of dishes are impressive. Definitely recommended.

Last night, five of us dined at this very quaint and cozy restaurant. Point 1: The service staff, including the owners themselves, are exceptionally friendly and very personable. The food is very good and very authentic for Bavarian/Austrian/South Tyrolean cuisine. All in all, an enrichment for the culinary scene in Kempten. We/I will definitely be back.

A very rustic restaurant. The ambiance is very cozy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is incredibly delicious. We had rump steak and roast beef with onions and cheese spaetzle. We've rarely eaten such tender beef. The cheese spaetzle was also very tasty and well-seasoned. Highly recommended. The beer served was Büble. A fantastic 7 out of 5 stars ❤️

Unfortunately the evening was ruined by the fact that you can't pay with a card in this restaurant. In 2025 in Germany this is incomprehensible. We had to go to the bank to withdraw money. And the prices are too high anyway.

Nice place for supper. Walking area around is full of local shops and places to see. The meet salad with yogurt was amazing.

We were here for dinner today and were truly delighted. The food was absolutely delicious, and it's also very cozy. We sat outside. I felt especially comfortable because the two waitresses were super friendly and attentive. I noticed this right away. I've rarely experienced such friendly service. I will definitely be back.

Very, very tasty food. However, the wait times are extremely long. We had to wait about 40 minutes for the main course. The Tyrolean Gröstel was delicious, but far too small for the two people at our table. The other dishes were very generous portions and completely sufficient.
