Very good restaurant, delicious food for young and old!

Super great and cute atmosphere with the lovingly selected decoration. The staff was super friendly, gave us a warm welcome and always paid attention to our wishes. The food is simply wonderful. Beautifully traditional and simply outstanding. Actually already full from the main course (variation of dumplings and side salad with this delicious bacon and raspberry dressing), we had to serve a Kaiserschmarrn - and it was worth it! So all around a great experience. We were all absolutely thrilled with the team and the food! Thanks :)

Unfortunately the food was a real disappointment. The salad seemed to me to have just been thrown out of the bag onto the plate and no regional products whatsoever. In the end I couldn't even pay because no credit cards are accepted. The service, on the other hand, was great, unfortunately that's not enough.

Service really good, but food subpar. You can tell that cheap ingredients are used, spices are hardly used at all - it just didn't taste like anything. But it was brutally oily. And then no credit cards are accepted. I understand you want to save on fees, but in connection with the food you got the impression that it's more about squeezing out every percent of profit. Overall just not a good experience, won't be coming back.

Always a pleasure, great atmosphere and great food. Here you feel very comfortable and at home... If you are looking for regional and good home-style cuisine, then you have come to the right place.

Absolutely beautiful ambience, delicious food, super friendly staff

Stopped in spontaneously for the first time and luckily got a free table. Very rustic and cozy, attentive and friendly service, ordered Schlutzkrapfen and Käsespätzle - the latter were to die for. Definitely again!

During our visit to Kempten we stopped here for lunch. The owners gave us a warm welcome and luckily we were able to get a table even without a reservation. From the inside, the restaurant is rustic, very cozy and yet modernly furnished. The drinks menu has everything your heart desires and the menu also offers something for every taste. Salads, a variation of home cooking and constantly changing dishes such as, in our case, the baked feta from the carnival menu. Excellent price-performance ratio. The service was super warm and accommodating. All the dishes tasted great; we decided on the Kaiserschmarrn, even though we were already full. But it was definitely worth it. We want to come back soon. Paying with an EC card is no problem.

Went to the Alpensteig for the first time today. Excellent food, super tasty, large portions and at fair prices. The service and the owner were very friendly and always attentive. Recommended at any time and best reserved in advance. Thanks for the delicious food and service.

We were there as a group (6 people). We were all so disappointed. Nothing worked. Order was forgotten. Had to wait forever. The meal was then made quickly. Burgers were fried to death and cold so that the cheese hadn't even started to run. Most of the other dishes were not convincing at all. Staff very rude. Apology absolutely not credible. Paying with a card was also not possible. It shouldn't really be a problem these days. I will definitely never go there again.

Even without a reservation and full tables, a place can be easily arranged. Very cozy atmosphere here.

Went there at short notice today and got a table for four people. I'll cut it short...it was simply outstanding!!! From the ambience to the service and the extremely excellent food... you can, no, you simply have to recommend this restaurant!!! Conclusion: If you are in Oberallgäu, you should definitely take advantage of the opportunity and let yourself be pampered or enjoy yourself here. We'll definitely come back.

Wir waren eine Gruppe Mädels und haben uns auf Empfehlung für das Alpensteig entschieden. Ich gebe nur einen Punkt, da die Speisekarte leider fast nur aus mächtigen und fetten Speisen bestand. Deswegen habe ich mich für einen Salat mit Hähnchen und Mais entschieden. Der Salat war, vor allem für den Preis von 16,90€, ok. Als wir zahlen wollten ging das EC-Gerät nicht, so dass meine Freundin für mich zahlen musste. Leider erkrankte ich 2 Tage später an einer massiven Campylobakter-Infektion (meldepflichtig) mit Krankenhausaufenthalt, die durch nicht gut durchgebratenes Geflügelfleisch übertragen wird. Leider kann ich das Lokal nicht weiter empfehlen.

A successful end to a beautiful day

This was our third time eating at the Alpensteig. We were once again warmly welcomed and again received great service! The Cordon Bleu is the best thing I've ever eaten!!! The Kässpätzle and the burger are also simply delicious. The chocolate cake and the Kaiserschmarrn once again blew everyone at the table away. The restaurant is furnished with love and you feel like you are at home or with good friends! We'd love to come back and look forward to the next delicious evening. Many greetings from Isny

We enjoyed it very much. Mostly Tyrolean dishes and some classics such as: Cordon Bleu. Service was very good. Ambiance was simple but cozy. Prices are within normal limits. We didn't have a reservation...but we immediately felt welcome.

The Alpensteig restaurant is exactly what I imagine a guest-oriented, well-run establishment to be: Unfortunately, we underestimated the popularity and didn't make a reservation. When we entered the dining room everything seemed full. Nevertheless, a waitress came immediately, took care of us and a few minutes later we were sitting comfortably. Even though there was so much going on, it was never hectic or too loud. The interior is a very good silencer. In addition to the staff, the hospitality and the location, I am also very impressed by the food. There is a good selection and the chef knows his craft. Excellent! With so much positive experience in a short time, you'll be happy to tip a little more!

We went there without a reservation and although nothing was actually available, a solution was found. The restaurant is very nicely and comfortably furnished. Delicious food, the steak was cooked to perfection, the Gröstl tasted good and both portions were plentiful, we were full. Nice service. Top!

Wir haben ein fantastisches Rumpsteak mit Kässpätzle gegessen. Eine sehr aufmerksame und äusserst freundliche Bedienung durch Sandra & Joe sowie ihr Team. Es ist ein richtig gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtetes Lokal - unbedingt reinschauen und verwöhnen lassen.

We were lucky enough to get a table at short notice today. Very nice phone call. We received a very friendly welcome. We had the table by the door to the toilet. It didn't smell and didn't bother me either. The best thing, however, was the food. I can only recommend everyone to try it out, get a table and enjoy the food. Thanks for the hospitality.

Das Restaurant war komplett ausgebucht, dennoch hat uns der Bett einen Platz zugeordnet. Der dezente Hinweis wir müssten in circa 1,5 Stunden fertig sein. Da wir nur zur Durchreise angekommen sind, war das für uns perfekt. Nicht nur der wird auch das Essen und der Service haben uns begeistert. Sehr zu empfehlen Spaghetti mit Schrimps, aber auch das Cordon bleu.

Sehr schönes Lokal und ein Super Service mit richtig freundlichem Personal . Das Essen war extrem lecker. Wir hatten Steak, Salat mit Rinderstreifen, Schnitzel, Zwiebelrostbraten und als Highlight Kaiserschmarrn.. alles absolut lecker! Ein muss für jeden der in Kempten Essen gehen möchte. Danke 🙏

Spontaner Besuch. Wir wählten die Knödelsuppe und Puten- und Rindfleissalat. Man kan wählen aus Südtiroler und Allgáuer Schmankerln zu sehr freundlichen Preisen. Das Essen war frisch und geschmackvoll. Die Ambiente war gemütlich und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir kennzeichnen diesen Besuch als ein Hit.

Rustic restaurant with Allgäu and South Tyrolean dishes. Very friendly and good service. We (4 people) were all very satisfied with the food. When the restaurant is full, the noise level due to conversations is relatively high, but still within the limits of being able to understand each other well at the table.

This restaurant is an absolute insider tip in Kempten! The food is excellent and every meal is a pleasure. The innkeepers are incredibly warm and make you feel completely comfortable.

Zu meinem Rumpsteak wollte ich etwas anderes als die üblichen Beilagen essen und es wurde mir auch wie gewünscht serviert. Die Atmosphäre war locker, die Location toll, sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service. Preis/Leistung stimmen auf jeden Fall.

Das Allgäu und Kempten sind eine Reise wert. Abgerundet wird das alles durch einen Aufenthalt im Alpensteig. Eine feine kleine Karte, die Speisen handgemacht und einfach nur lecker. Und wer bereits dort war und die Marillenknödel hatte, weiß wovon ich schreibe. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist urig und einfach so, dass man sich sofort zuhause und willkommen fühlt. Es war nun unser dritter Besuch im Alpensteig und es wird nicht unser letzter gewesen sein.

Obviously, in such a case, people think it is legitimate to “put off” the guests in a very rude and loud manner. So you've described the context, so why should I attach importance to it? Obviously you don't know the meaning of the word at all. No surprise, after all, you lack any manners or politeness. Now you are also discriminatory towards people who express themselves in a chosen way. It's strange, however, that they then treat people with a migrant background badly because of their lack of German language skills, according to the reviews here. Very inconspicuous from the outside, we didn't notice the restaurant. Friends sold this to us as an insider tip and what can I say – you have to eat here. The interior is very lovingly furnished and radiates warmth. We had a seat outside, the chairs are very comfortable, and we got the tickets quickly. A great selection of food and very attractively priced. The portions are a nice size and were served quickly. In terms of drinks, I can warmly recommend the Aperol, it has a very good mixing ratio! Had the trilogy (the cheese dumplings and bacon dumplings were excellent), the cordon bleu and the steak. There was also bread soup (fortunately not the typical bread soup) and a salad. Very, very tasty and very delicately seasoned. The employees all tried very hard and kept checking that everything was going well. From our side, we are more than surprised and think it's a shame that we didn't "find" the restaurant earlier. Definitely worth a visit!
