Cozy atmosphere, good service and delicious food 😋 😊

I found the food, service, and atmosphere absolutely delightful. A big thank you for the warm welcome I received after a hike, even though I was covered in mud and had brought my large, wet dogs. My only criticism is that I think the prices are about 10 to 20 percent too high.

The food is okay, but unfortunately, there's a lot of ready-made stuff. We didn't like the Leberkäse (meat sausage) (smoky and with a strange consistency). The fried potatoes were quite good. The crust from the deep fryer was probably also a ready-made product and completely overpriced. The service at the table was very good. Unfortunately, the opening hours aren't reliable. They like to close early if it's not worth it... It's probably very nice up there in the summer. Update: I have to retract my statement about the fried crust and apologize. And the accompanying salad was also very good. Other than that, no corrections to my above statements. I always consciously choose to remain anonymous online. My name wouldn't contribute anything helpful here either.

We ate there on Sunday, but unfortunately, the food was at most a chip shop's price, but it was restaurant-style. The schnitzel was already frozen, and the potato salad was out of the bucket. However, I have to say, the service was very good.

What a great location. But otherwise, a mixed crowd, but still recommended. — The salad plate was more raw vegetables than salad, but otherwise we had a great time. The restrooms are outside, which is a bit of a hassle in the cold season. We arrived at the end of the day as the second-to-last table and received friendly and clear instructions on how to order. The food came quickly and was good. Only fresh pepper was missing, and the classic oil and vinegar for the salad. Basically, just nitpicking at a high level, and therefore 4.5 stars with a full overall rating. — But the music was brief and bordering on annoying with lyrics from German Ballermann culture. Very tasty food and generous portions, extremely friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. Not 5 stars because the drink prices seem a bit high to us. But we're always happy to come back with our motorhome.

We sat here for 3 hours, and the atmosphere was excellent, the work was quick and the staff were very nice.

I've known the Almhütte Schanze since my childhood in the early 2000s and have many fond memories of it. Despite many changes over the years, the original charm has been preserved – something few restaurants manage! The food is very good, and even when the place was full, we didn't have to wait long. One thing's for sure: Whenever I'm in the area, I'll always be happy to stop by!

Super delicious food, a great cabin, and very friendly service. The best part, for us, was the RV parking spot with electricity, water, toilets, and a breathtaking sunset. And then there was a nightcap from the owner himself at the camper van after work. THANK YOU so much!

This was our second time eating here, and everything was to our complete satisfaction. You just feel really comfortable here, with a great atmosphere, super friendly staff and owners. The food is fresh, and the portions are very generous and beautifully presented. We will continue to eat here on our vacations because we feel so comfortable. Please stay as you are.

I was out on my motorbike in the beautiful Sauerland region today. I discovered an alpine hut. There were plenty of parking spaces. You can't just sit down in the alpine hut. Signs tell you you have to ask to be seated. So I had to queue and wait. I was lucky. I got a table all to myself. I wasn't seated at a table with strangers. Oh well! It's Sauerland, after all. €5.20 for a pot of coffee on the terrace and €23.90 for Jägerschnitzel (a schnitzel thick as a pencil and cooked in a deep fryer). Fried potatoes from the supermarket. The first and last time. That was just my experience.

Yes, I can recommend this alpine hut to everyone. Whether you have children, young or old, hikers, cyclists, or those traveling by car or motorcycle. I always enjoy coming there!

It was simply fantastic. The breakfast was amazing. Michi and his team are incredibly friendly and everything is under control. The campsite could be a bit more beautifully designed, but that's not a big deal. We'd love to come back.

A very rustic cabin with a fantastic view. We were there with our RV and had a magnificent sunset in the evening. The food was very hearty and plentiful. We thought it was very good value for money. The host is extremely personable, and the staff is also very friendly. You can tell that they enjoy their work. We really enjoyed our two days there. We're already looking forward to seeing you again.

The location and the view this hut offers are truly outstanding. The panorama is impressive and simply invites you to linger. Unfortunately, the one star refers solely to the owner's behavior and the service we received. Even the "welcome" was so rude that we felt uncomfortable from the start. We originally planned to have something to eat and enjoy a beer in peace. However, while browsing the menu, we came across a smug, arrogant comment from the owner on the last page, which, to be honest, put us off staying longer. In times when many restaurateurs are struggling with challenges, one expects empathy and hospitality rather than arrogance. Others definitely manage it more pleasantly. We decided to try the advertised "Helle" beer anyway. Unfortunately, it was so flat and stale that it was barely drinkable. So we left the hut pretty quickly – what a pity for such a beautiful place. The alpine hut will never see us again.

Even though we were a large group without a reservation, we found a nice spot. The service was friendly and quick. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again.

The so-called "bad weather" menu is a real joke, and the prices are exorbitantly high. The fact that the last page of the standard menu lists all the costs the owner has to bear is also quite amusing.

Today was really cool. We had a fantastic bike ride up the hill, perfect weather, and delicious food. What more could you ask for? We'd love to come back.

Nice ski hut, even in summer. Good and more than enough food. Don't order apple strudel with ice and whipped cream at 3 pm if you still want to have dinner at 6 pm. You'll be so full that you'll skip dinner. It will be busier here in winter but now it's full of campers, a nice location for this group.

Two nights there with the motorhome. Everything was perfect. Back there after a year. ...and we enjoyed it again.

We were absolutely thrilled with the regulars' table of Sauerland camper women in their prime. The food was super delicious and plentiful, the pitches were top-notch, and the location was fantastic. The service in the hut was simply first-class, and the hut owner was very friendly. And the hut dog is simply adorable. We were up there with eight other campers and had a truly wonderful time despite the mixed weather. Thank you for the wonderful time.

We have been coming here for many years. It was always great! Unfortunately, prices have increased dramatically recently. A snack over €20? The wild boar sausage was over €5 more than the last time we were here. The service has also become extremely poor and unfriendly. If you change something in the pricing and get off your high horse again, then we'll be back!

Super nice place in the middle of nature. After a nice walk you can stop here and have delicious food and drinks. I would recommend a reservation on the weekend. Nice terrace and playground for the little ones.

Yesterday we hiked to the Schanze Alpine hut. A really great, inviting hut, great ambience to feel good. The food is super tasty and is worth the price in everything. You get a large quantity. The staff is super nice and accommodating. We would be happy to come back at any time.

Went to the ski jump again. As always, it was very nice and very tasty. Drinks and food came quickly. Staff funny with good sayings. Always my pleasure. The fact that we couldn't find our table reservation over the phone..... found a solution.

We went there specifically because of the opening times shown for the season but unfortunately the shop was closed. It's definitely worth calling beforehand. Addendum to the owner's comment: Thanks for your answer. Even if she's not particularly nice. How I come to a review without having been a guest in the hut that day is very simple. We wanted to visit again because of a great experience in the past. Then we looked online for the opening times and yes, the regular opening times are there (Thursday to Sunday). However, it is not uncommon for many ski huts to open on additional days when there is an expected audience due to the right weather. Especially when there is snow. The note on your homepage “Open until 6 p.m. today” is really misleading. We were a little annoyed after a 37-minute journey. The suggestion that we didn't read correctly is simply wrong! We simply read too closely and took what was there seriously. Short-term extensions of opening times due to snow are not entirely outside of life experience in a ski resort. We will definitely visit you again, sometimes for a hike on a summer day. Until then, all the best! But please keep the homepage a little more up to date. ;)

Man muss hier das Gesamtpaket bewerten. Tolle Lage, zünftig und rustikal wie eine Hütte sein muss. Sehr nettes Personal und trotz gut gefülltem Aussenbereich sehr zügig bedient worden. Heiß Getränk heiß, Bier schön kühl und lecker. Brotzeit und Waffeln waren gut. Preis Leistung ist in Ordnung.

Beautiful rustic hut! Unfortunately the price is off! Schnitzel toast and a bottle of wheat for over €30 is quite expensive. The food was delicious, waiting time was about 40 minutes.

The food is nothing special. No fresh, self-parished schnitzel, but frozen ready-made schnitzel. The boss reprimanded us in a very unfriendly way - we had pulled out a table about 30cm so that we could all sit at the table. Unfortunately, pushing tables really annoys the boss. The first and last time there for us. The waiters were quick and very nice. The hut is beautifully situated on the mountain.

Unfortunately very unfriendly host. You are not allowed to put tables together. Is reprimanded by the host not to do this. The food is overpriced. The schnitzels are frozen goods. The fries were quite good though. But all together 10€ too expensive. We won't go there anymore. Then it's better to eat at the Landschaftsgasthaus Schanze 1. Everyone there is friendly and the food is reasonable for the price.

Stopped at the restaurant on the occasion of a two-day stay at the motorhome parking lot there. The stay leaves mixed feelings. - great parking space with a great view, but a somewhat makeshift outdoor shower with a camera attached above it (!?) The parking space fee of €16 is okay given the location and the included supply and disposal, as well as electricity. - The picture at the restaurant is somewhat more differentiated: - rustic location with fast, friendly and attentive staff. Among other things, we ordered a mushroom cream schnitzel with spaetzle. There was quite a decent portion. Spaetzle and sauce (with plenty of mushrooms) were delicious. The schnitzel presented itself, breaded, in an almost rectangular shape, without the typical bubbles that form in the breading when it is fried. Visually and taste-wise, it reminded me of a convenience product. Sorry, but for the price of just under 24 euros I don't expect any finished products, great location, no matter what. In general, the prices of the food and drinks are at an impressive large-scale level

I can't say much about the service and atmosphere people are talking about here. Upon arrival we had to wait to be assigned to a table??? At a ski hut of all places. Then it takes a long time before someone comes to take orders. First a drink because the waiter didn't have enough time to write down the food. But with the promise that he would be right back. That "so" took a very long time, but he came with the "cheffin" at his side who informed us in loud language that the kitchen would be locked for the time being for the guests currently present because an NRW bus was arriving with 65 guests who had pre-ordered. had. To which our waiter said that he had promised to take our food, but to no avail. (Our appreciation for that!) The chef shouted that her (Mädels) were overloaded by the crowds. Busy that she had accepted and that the waiting staff knew nothing about until then! Conclusion: Madame cheffin therefore believes it is necessary that a busload has priority over all waiting and passing guests. And take it from me, it continued steadily. Nice weather, beautiful place. So a lot of frustration. And incredibly indecent. The staff then got all violent counter complaints. In the future I will look for another beautiful place with a nice view. That has become the Wisent Wildnis a few km away. Beautiful view! And the food was also fine.
