I had lunch at ALEX Zwickau today and ordered the Grilled Asian Chicken Burger with fries. Just looking at it made my mouth water—and it tasted as delicious as it looked. I've never had a burger like it before! A huge thank you to the kitchen and the team—keep up the great work! I give it a definite recommendation: 10 out of 10 ⭐️.

It's a joy to see a café maintain its standards and pay attention to quality, even in the smallest details. Especially at breakfast, you quickly notice the difference: fresh ingredients, genuine craftsmanship, and honest preparation are irreplaceable. Of course, it would be easier to rely on packaged products – but that's exactly what many others do. Those who consciously choose the more difficult path stand out. And their guests sense it: they don't feel fobbed off with a standard product, but rather valued. A good café demonstrates that it's not just about function, but about attitude. You don't just serve food; you treat your customers with respect. That's the difference you can taste – and that gives them a reason to come back.

The food was cold, and I had to wait over a quarter of an hour for my Coke!!! And when I complained about the cold food, they asked the kitchen about it. The answer was that the food was okay. The service was also very unfriendly. The ALEX in Potsdam and also at Frankfurt Airport are far better.

I love coming here often with my partner, and I have to say I'm always incredibly happy with the food and service. Whether it's the breakfast buffet or the chicken teriyaki in the evening 🤤 (the most delicious dish we've ever eaten), we simply love it. Please never take it off the menu 😄 Keep up the good work, you're amazing 💚

Unfortunately, it's very unsuitable for people with disabilities and those with babies/children in diapers! The accessible restroom isn't lockable, it's blocked, and the "changing table" is made of hard plastic and completely unsafe. It's unhygienic and close to the toilet, and the light flickers. On the plus side, you can sit outside, and the service was quick and friendly this time. It really depends on the person. The food is delicious and the brunch is very good, but the portion prices are expensive, depending on the size.

The ALEX in Zwickau boasts a beautiful location right on the market and friendly service. We ordered an Espresso Martini and a Pornstar Martini. The Espresso Martini was visually eye-catching and tasted okay, although a bit too sweet for our taste. The Pornstar Martini, unfortunately, had significant drawbacks: It bore little resemblance to the original – no fresh passion fruit, no Prosecco shot, and no foamed egg white. Upon inquiry, we were told that the Prosecco was already included in the cocktail, which, however, was neither convincing in terms of quantity nor taste. The alleged egg white appeared to be in syrup form, but it was undetectable in taste and completely missing visually. Overall: Very nice atmosphere and friendly service, but the cocktails clearly have a lot of room for improvement.

The service was an absolute disaster. I ordered a waffle and after 40 minutes (!) asked where it was. The server's response was rude and unprofessional: "It's taking a while today." Another 30 minutes later, I asked again – and suddenly they said they were checking with the kitchen NOW. The result: The order had been lost. The apology was only halfhearted – no genuine regret or effort to make amends. I then decided not to eat. My companion's dish was cold by then, and the whole experience was ruined. Such a blatant service error – and not a hint of customer service. Deeply disappointing. I will definitely not be coming back.

We wanted to have breakfast yesterday. They asked us for a reservation. We didn't have one. We were then somewhat rudely shown to a table and waited in vain for service. Nothing came. It was very loud all around. At the next table, we asked for service and were rudely turned away. We then went somewhere else for breakfast, where everything was perfect.

The breakfast selection is unfortunately very limited: a buffet for €15! Or a croissant with a small amount of butter, jam, and coffee for €6.50, with nothing in between, including a roll. A second croissant costs almost €4 more each, totaling €20.50, which is pretty steep! Next time we'll go a bit further, where there are more people sitting.

I went to this ALEX with my mother in the afternoon. It wasn't that busy at the time. Both the lemonade and the rösti with salmon were really delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much salmon there was on the plate. It was also beautifully presented. The service was always friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long. We really enjoyed it.

Once again, it was delicious and fun. Stefan from the service team always has cool sayings and still manages to make something tasty for you with ease. Orders are processed in a flash and are always a feast for the eyes and, above all, a feast for the eyes. Thank you for the lovely and entertaining afternoon. Keep up the good work.

We first went there for coffee. A latte, the well-filled cup of which could easily pass for a child's hat :-) Later, we returned for some super-delicious bowls. Absolutely fantastic in terms of taste and choice of ingredients. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We were on a day trip to the August Horch Museum and were incredibly hungry afterward. We quickly found Alex on Maps and headed there straight away. Parking is readily available, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant immediately impressed us with its ambiance and friendly staff. The menu is very extensive, so there's something for everyone. The food arrived very quickly and tasted great. High praise! Another really cool feature is the open kitchen, where you can practically watch your food being prepared. The only downside: the music was a bit too loud at times, as we were sitting directly under a speaker, and the men's restroom sounded like a techno party, given the flickering lights 😂 But all in all, a very inviting and delicious restaurant!

Today was the first time I've had the all-you-can-eat breakfast with a friend. Personally, I didn't like it. My Black Forest ham was way too salty, and I would have expected a bit more from your rolls, considering we were there at 9 a.m. My friend also said the cornflakes tasted sticky. Finally, my fruit salad was way too acidic and didn't have any sweetener in it.

We've been coming to Alex regularly since last summer and really enjoy it. The food is delicious, there's a great selection of sodas and other drinks, and the staff is super friendly. Today we were served by Aisha, Chris, and Mario, and we were completely satisfied. This is what makes eating out fun! Many thanks also to Bryan, Stefan, and Tony, who seem to have become regulars and serve us often. Keep up the good work!

2023: Not very pleasant experience here. The wait was very long, the coffee with milk that I got was very big, not necessarily a coffee. I ordered after that espresso macchiato in order to have the taste of a real coffee. I had a chicken teriyaki which was pretty decent. But also the fact that the tables were near one another, and there was no umbrella for the sun, it was a bit uncomfortable. Update 2025: I had a caesar wrap which was delicious. And the espresso machiatto is good 😊 The experience inside is much better than on the terrace as the tables are not so crowded.

A well-known restaurant chain from other cities was just disappointing. We went there on a Friday afternoon and got a table quickly. I ordered a spritzer and burrata with tomato salad. The burrata with tomato salad was even pictured on the menu. The drinks came very quickly. Unfortunately, it took over 45 minutes for the food to arrive. I can imagine people on a lunch break from work who have a 30-minute break. Not feasible at Alex. The service also gave no indication that the food would take longer to prepare. I got the salad last. Unfortunately, it was more of an arugula and onion salad with a few tomatoes and burrata. It didn't come close to the picture on the menu. So don't trust the pictures on the menu. The few tomatoes in the salad were also hard. I was very disappointed this time.

Very well located in the city center. A great place to have breakfast with friends or family. Large outdoor area, but parking is a bit limited nearby. Not the first choice for a good lunch, but they do offer a variety of small dishes and cocktails. So, better in the evening.

My favorite bar, restaurant, pub, café, breakfast spot for many years... the perfect place to spend time with my friends and favorite people. And apart from the many delicacies and cocktails, there is one (favorite) waiter who is always laughing (the others are great too, but he is special).

Very tasty food itself, but unfortunately we got the wrong food. Or rather, it wasn't that wrong, but the meat sandwich was simply missing all the meat 😅 After we asked about it, a baked potato was kindly added to our bill instead of the sandwich. Since the meat was the most expensive part of the whole dish. All in all, tasty and friendly service.

We had brunch there with the family. The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied. Coffee and drinks (sodas) were also very good. The service was ok, could have been a little more frequent. Lunch was ok, but not as varied.

We were at Alex with 5 people and chose this location because we have always been very satisfied. BUT this time it was different. The service was an absolute disaster! No organization, no plan, complete chaos. After half an hour of sitting and waiting unnoticed, we asked a waitress that we would like to order a few drinks. These came after a quarter of an hour. So we had our first drinks after 45 minutes, but only because they drew attention to it. Our food came after 90 minutes. Throughout the entire evening, 6 different service staff served us...

The second time there was nothing....waited 35 minutes for the first drink. The meal took 1½ hours. Our neighboring table, which was present before us, only received the drinks after us. Our table (5 people) was served by 4 different waiters. One didn't know what the other was doing. Another neighboring table went without any service because there was simply no drink. A dessert arrived after 20 minutes, with changes without request as certain ice cream flavors were no longer available. The other dessert was served 40 minutes later. That's not possible, and I've already worked in the catering industry, so I know what I'm talking about. Nothing organized, everything a mess. The response to my first review was: “we can do better.” We didn't notice anything about it today either. That's it for us. 👋🏻

Went for breakfast yesterday. Although the place was quite busy, we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The friendly service staff was extremely personable and made us more than just “satisfied”. Simply class. The food was delicious, but unfortunately the drinks took a while to arrive. But it's OK. Because the store was also well stocked. We have nothing to complain about. Apart from leaving the store, we overheard the young counter worker (with glasses) complaining to an employee about our friendly service and how tiring and annoying she was. (and that's putting it mildly) I find this behavior absolutely unfair and unacceptable! Especially since your service only shines very rarely and sporadically! Such negative forces should stay at home, because that doesn't attract guests! A big compliment to the service staff, we felt very comfortable, thank you.

Unfortunately, price/performance is now very poor. We used to always enjoy eating at Alex, but now it gets worse after every visit. The three of us had dinner today. Two burgers and a child's portion of fries. The burgers were lukewarm, the toppings were very poor, in the basket were a handful of fries (€5.20) totaling €19.80, + 250 ml (bottle of water) for €3.90. The four of us ate at the Italian restaurant around the corner the day before. The food was hot and the service and quality were unbeatable. The water only cost €2.50 (just an example). The bill showed a good €10 less. This was our last visit to Alex Zwickau. Too bad.

We were here in the afternoon, the tables that were not occupied were reserved. But everyone who asked got a place, albeit with a time limit. We only had a drink, so no rating.

Yesterday there were eight of us at Alex. Ambience nice. Waiter top. Food mixed. The Kaiserschmarren really didn't taste good. Cocktails very tasty 🤤 Ice cream sundae also nice. Coffee with milk is absolutely delicious 😂more like a soup bowl 😆a second handle would have been good. 😂 Tastes great.

My visit to Alex has so far only been limited to a coffee outside. We were invited and were thrilled by the selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. It tasted great and the drinks were surprisingly tasty too. We will definitely come back.

Went to Alex yesterday at lunchtime... We spent about 1.5 hours there, but not to eat comfortably...no...we had to wait 10 minutes until we were registered. After a successful order, cola, beer, cake, cafe and small. We waited for food again for almost 20 minutes. The beer had no head...so it was cola and beer served...after another 10 minutes the cake arrived without a cafe, when asked they were told the cafe would be coming soon...actually. Then came after just a few minutes. Cafe and the small ones. Food, cafe hot, food cold. Some tables complained about the long wait. There were enough staff there, but there were three or four of them standing around and chatting. I found this very rude and disrespectful to the guests... In the interests of the company, I hope that this ignorance towards the guests does not prevail. We have already spent lovely hours here...and with very polite and attentive service staff.

Even though the hut was full, we were able to organize a table for two people. The selection is simply outstanding and the service is super attentive.

Waren heute im Alex. Wurden erst nach 10 min beachtet und nach Bestellung gefragt. Nach weiteren 15 min wurde dann das Bier und die Cola gebracht. Wir hatten auch einen Kaffee und ein Stück Torte bestellt. Das dauerte dann nochmals 10 min. Das Bier kam ohne Schaumkrone. Wir hatten ja viel Zeit um zu schauen, bei dieser Arbeitsweise muss es so lange dauern. Die Kellner waren nur mit quatschen beschäftigt und standen sich selbst im Weg. Die Nachbartische haben sich auch beschwert. Fast jeder hat bei bringen des Bestellten bezahlt, da man ja nicht wusste, wie lang man auf seine Rechnung wieder warten muss. Ich hoffe im Interesse des Unternehmens, dass sich Arbeitsmoral wieder ändern wird

Wir bestellten uns 3 Vorspeisen und einen Hauptgang, weil wir uns gerne etwas ausprobieren wollten. Die Getränke und das Essen kam verhältnissmäßig zügig — falls man jedoch nichts mit seinem Partner zu erzählen hat, sollte man es doch lieber lassen, da die Wartezeit nicht nur 10 Minuten beträgt. Die Vorspeisen waren lecker, aber die Pasta war ungenießbar. Wir teilten uns alles und haben jeweils nur 3 Gabeln genommen. Es war viel zu versalzen. Mir meldeten uns daraufhin und uns wurde gesagt, dass wir eine neue Pasta bekommen. Wir teilten mit, dass wir keine neue brauchen und sie gerne erstattet haben wollen. Darauf wurde gesagt, die Pasta wurde jetzt schon frisch gekocht und wir sollen sie nehmen und dafür eine bezahlen. Als wir gesagt hatten, das wir keine brauchen wurde sich empört umgedreht und gesagt es wäre nach 5min fast alles fertig gewesen, aber jetzt wird sie halt wieder abbestellt. Als wir dann zahlen wollten, mussten wir die Pasta zahlen. Nach der Nachfrage, warum das so sei, weil wir sie gar nicht gegessen haben, wurde uns frech mitgeteilt sie hatten eine neue gekocht und diese wurde weggeworfen. Deswegen müssen wir sie zahlen. Wir gaben gesagt, dass wenn wir eine Pasta zahlen, möchten wir auch eine haben die man essen kann. Dann wurden wir angemotzt und angemeckert das jetzt eine zweite gekocht werden kann, aber dann zwei bezahlt werden müssen. Einfach unfähig dieses Lokal

We come here more often for breakfast. The service is good overall, but varies a little in some cases. The buffet is plentiful, good selection, but you shouldn't be late. Around 8:30 - 9:00 is perfect. When it's full, the noise level can get quite loud, but the next room is very cozy with a digital fireplace. Unfortunately, you can rarely choose your seat. Overall, Alex is the perfect address for breakfast in Zwickau. I don't know of any other restaurant that offers such a rich breakfast buffet.

My friend and I had dinner there last Saturday. Even though it was busy, everything went smoothly and we felt really comfortable. Friendly staff and no long waiting times. Food was really good. Any time.!!

I was your guest last week. The service was good. The food was very good. An absolute no-go is when rodents run around under the dining table. That's why only 2 stars.

Two years ago, when we were there for the first time, everything was perfect. Nowadays the service is so bad that you actually feel angry in your stomach. The menu is varied, the food always tastes great, but the service is terrible. You wait at least a quarter of an hour for someone to take an order, then what feels like an eternity for the drinks and when I order coffee and cake, I want it to be brought to the table in one go and not eat the piece of cake until then the coffee is almost gone. There is only one star for the service, at least there were waiters/waitresses present.

A nice location for YOUNG & OLD 😉 ..we always like to come here when we are nearby and we are assigned a nice place. The ambience and musical atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff is young and dynamic and of course very friendly. The food always tastes delicious and, as we know, your eyes eat with you. I personally find unusual creations particularly delicious and tasty 😋. A visit to Alex in Zwickau is definitely recommended 👍🏼 ..every meal is a feast for the eyes and a taste experience, amazing ✨️.

I was a happy guest at Alex for a long time. The employees are always friendly and the food is always tasty. BUT! But after a mouse recently tried to climb up my boot, that was my last visit to this restaurant. From noticing the mouse(s) to paying my bill, I counted at least 20 mice scurrying around. After looking through the reviews, I noticed that the problem has been going on for a long time. For hygienic reasons this is unacceptable and harmful to health. The veterinary office must act urgently.

There for dinner just before Christmas. The noodles I ordered were a poem - really good and incredibly tasty 😋. The service was also very good and attentive and, above all, quick. The price is also worth paying, if the noodles are permanently on offer I'll be happy to come back. I can only recommend this location.

We were there on Thursday to have a coffee, waited 25 minutes for 2 coffees and then waited another 25 minutes so you could pay. But the worst part was that my friend had to pay €8 for a large Baileys latte. Please write the prices exactly on your card, it's just annoying!

Not bad for a quick snack. The food is quite tasty and reasonably priced. The range of drinks is also acceptable. What didn't convince us was the atmosphere, somehow hectic, constantly coming and going, somehow uncomfortable and not suitable for spending a dignified evening. The service was friendly, but we were constantly being served by other cellars. Someone took the order and each food and drink was brought by another person. Of course, this doesn't build a relationship between guest and staff. But maybe the concept isn't aimed at that. All in all, not the worst choice for a quick snack, but not suitable for a cozy evening.

Last night we went to Alex again... and it was the last time we went there. The reservation was for 8 people and nothing was prepared. The individual tables were only pushed together and wiped down when we arrived. Then we waited 20 minutes until we could order the drinks. After another 30 minutes the drinks came and we ordered the food. We waited about 40 minutes for the starter and another hour for the main course. Everyone's food was lukewarm to cold, which the "service staff" wasn't interested in. We left it at that because we were afraid we would have to wait another 60 minutes. For these reasons we decided against further orders. Furthermore, the music was so incredibly loud that you could no longer understand your own words. The store used to be good, but has declined significantly. In summary, the evening was an absolute disgrace.

So, the taste was okay. Unfortunately the service was absolutely unfriendly. No smiles, no asking if everything was okay. Unfortunately, half of the dishes were cold after an hour of waiting (normal operation). That was probably the last time here. Too bad.

Very bad service, waited 25 minutes and no service was given

Unfortunately, my last visit to "Alex" in Zwickau was disappointing. Our company spent almost 500 euros, but despite this high bill, we experienced being spoken to because of alleged loudness. I find that very problematic, especially considering that for this price we would have expected a pleasant atmosphere and an undisturbed evening. However, the service should be highlighted positively: the waiter with the cute beard and the friendly blonde employee did a great job. Both were extremely accommodating, polite and chatty. Their commitment and friendliness significantly saved the evening. That's why two out of a total of two stars clearly go to these two employees. Another point of criticism concerns the sanitary facilities: These should be checked regularly. It is unpleasant when hygiene buckets in the women's toilet overflow. Such details are important so as not to spoil the overall impression. However, I deducted one star due to the perceived value for money. For almost 500 euros I expect a lot more than good employees and an average evening. Therefore, I give a total of 2 stars - both exclusively for the excellent employees.

We come here often for brunch and I can highly recommend it to everyone. Absolutely beautiful location, great service and moderate prices. There is also a small play area for children, my daughter likes it and so do we. So everything is fine.

I didn't rate the food like that 3 times this year...I was looking forward to my piece of cake...when I asked, it came right away...after 2 hours of paying...they didn't order!!!...that's it This has happened to me 3 times this year with drinks and food... just incompetent staff and not even an apology... just embarrassing to go there when you have visitors!!!

Great restaurant, it was very full but the two of us still got a seat straight away! Dog-friendliness is also very important here, our dog immediately got his own “bar” and everyone was very friendly! We just went for a quick burger, they were both delicious! Two burgers one fries two large cokes €50 including tip was completely fine for the quality of the burger. I think 5€ for a pair of fries is steep because they were really snack fries. Overall, everything was great, we would love to come back😊

Crispy Mediterranean burger with juicy chicken, but a bit bland despite the Mediterranean spices. Super tasty Alex Deluxe Fries with well-dosed truffle sauce, highly recommended. I wasn't so lucky with the service: my burger came without cutlery - this was only delivered 5 minutes later. I had to get salt and pepper myself. Given the rather impressive tariffs (21 euros for burgers and fries), the service should actually be okay.

Not a bad atmosphere, but no contact with anyone. I could have stayed home alone. That would have been better anyway, because the shock came when paying. €28.30 for breakfast and two small coffees!! You know that everything has become more expensive, but €3.70 for a small coffee!! Are you crazy?? I'll never do that again. For €20.90 you can eat as much as you want, but you can't eat more than that. That really ruined my day. I didn't want to stay at home all Christmas, but that would have been better, what else could I have bought for that money. I think other people think that too, because the restaurant wasn't that well attended.
