ALEX Zwickau in Zwickau

Unfortunately, my last visit to "Alex" in Zwickau was disappointing. Our company spent almost 500 euros, but despite this high bill, we experienced being spoken to because of alleged loudness. I find that very problematic, especially considering that for this price we would have expected a pleasant atmosphere and an undisturbed evening. However, the service should be highlighted positively: the waiter with the cute beard and the friendly blonde employee did a great job. Both were extremely accommodating, polite and chatty. Their commitment and friendliness significantly saved the evening. That's why two out of a total of two stars clearly go to these two employees. Another point of criticism concerns the sanitary facilities: These should be checked regularly. It is unpleasant when hygiene buckets in the women's toilet overflow. Such details are important so as not to spoil the overall impression. However, I deducted one star due to the perceived value for money. For almost 500 euros I expect a lot more than good employees and an average evening. Therefore, I give a total of 2 stars - both exclusively for the excellent employees.

We come here often for brunch and I can highly recommend it to everyone. Absolutely beautiful location, great service and moderate prices. There is also a small play area for children, my daughter likes it and so do we. So everything is fine.

This time I am extremely positively surprised! We had breakfast yesterday and had very friendly and attentive service, who entertained us brilliantly and made us laugh. Rarely have I experienced such a great all-round package, thumbs up! 👍🏻 Food: diverse and very tasty Price performance:👍🏻 Ambience: we really felt very comfortable and will be back soon. 😊

New Year's Eve celebration for the third time was good as always. Price performance was convincing. Staff very friendly.

Schicki and Micki doesn't work in Zwickau, there used to be overpaid line workers who now have to save money.

It's a lot of fun when you're there with friends. The staff are very friendly and funny, the food also tastes very good, definitely recommended ☺️

Went for breakfast spontaneously and it was very tasty and had a large selection and service was very nice. Always my pleasure.

I didn't rate the food like that 3 times this year...I was looking forward to my piece of cake...when I asked, it came right away...after 2 hours of paying...they didn't order!!!...that's it This has happened to me 3 times this year with drinks and food... just incompetent staff and not even an apology... just embarrassing to go there when you have visitors!!!

Great restaurant, it was very full but the two of us still got a seat straight away! Dog-friendliness is also very important here, our dog immediately got his own “bar” and everyone was very friendly! We just went for a quick burger, they were both delicious! Two burgers one fries two large cokes €50 including tip was completely fine for the quality of the burger. I think 5€ for a pair of fries is steep because they were really snack fries. Overall, everything was great, we would love to come back😊

The friendly staff impressed us the most when there was a big rush. The tables are very narrow.

Crispy Mediterranean burger with juicy chicken, but a bit bland despite the Mediterranean spices. Super tasty Alex Deluxe Fries with well-dosed truffle sauce, highly recommended. I wasn't so lucky with the service: my burger came without cutlery - this was only delivered 5 minutes later. I had to get salt and pepper myself. Given the rather impressive tariffs (21 euros for burgers and fries), the service should actually be okay.

Not a bad atmosphere, but no contact with anyone. I could have stayed home alone. That would have been better anyway, because the shock came when paying. €28.30 for breakfast and two small coffees!! You know that everything has become more expensive, but €3.70 for a small coffee!! Are you crazy?? I'll never do that again. For €20.90 you can eat as much as you want, but you can't eat more than that. That really ruined my day. I didn't want to stay at home all Christmas, but that would have been better, what else could I have bought for that money. I think other people think that too, because the restaurant wasn't that well attended.

There were 8 of us at Christmas and we thought we'd have a drink at Alex Zwickau after we were told we still had 1.5 hours before they closed. We ordered a lot and finally after 30 minutes we were told we were closing . We also ordered each draft beer right at the beginning and then had to wait 40 minutes for 4 beers. We didn't get the tea we ordered and we got something wrong with the 2cl Ramazotti we ordered. At the end there was no change so we were forced to give a tip. Absolutely nothing to recommend fortunately

Busy so snapshot? Tomatoes are overripe in the salad, making them mushy and the fries are like rubber. But we got new fries. All in all, well it was better

Modern, casual, friendly, delicious breakfast buffet...

A visit that I would describe as NO-GO. We came to the restaurant at Christmas market time and, as expected, it was full. We wanted coffee and cake, a little something. It took a full 25 minutes before we could place our order and another half hour before it was served. Long story short, the coffee arrived at the table lukewarm. Since a waiter only came by every half hour, paying was the next challenge. 20 minutes after asking for the bill, we finally went to the counter to pay. I then got a stupid comment from the “shift manager”. My impressions during the visit: It was clear that the staff didn't really have the situation in the restaurant under control and that I as a guest didn't see a clear structure, which is why my coffee probably came lukewarm. You are forced to wait. The ambience is fine so far, but that's about it. A serious change would definitely have to be made here before I set foot in here again.

Went to the breakfast buffet at Alex and was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more choice, I was missing some fresh fruit and the selection of sausage and cheese was also very modest. The price for it is quite steep. The tables are also quite small for two people. The staff is friendly and the food that was offered was delicious.

Despite being asked four times, drinks only came after the meal. The food was cold. Service completely overwhelmed.

We were here spontaneously at 7 p.m. and four of us were assigned a place. The order was taken relatively quickly. However, we waited OVER AN HOUR for the drinks, which definitely weren't complicated to mix. The starter and the main course (both were not particularly warm, but still tasty - we had burgers) came BEFORE the drinks we ordered. We were informed three times that the drinks were still missing and were able to watch several times how our order went to other tables that did not belong to these tables. The waiters had no knowledge of the table numbers at all. Absolutely no recommendation to go here on a Friday evening if you are completely overwhelmed.

The place had a bad smell. The waitress was rude, didn't even say enjoy or thank you or anything.

Rating restaurant visit On Thursday, November 29th, 2024, after visiting the puppet theater, we and our kindergarten group had the opportunity to stop at ALEX for breakfast/brunch. We would like to express our enthusiasm for the visit: • Service: The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. We were really looked after, which is not a given for a group with children. • Ambience: The restaurant offers a very inviting and child-friendly atmosphere in which everyone felt comfortable. • Flexibility: What is particularly worth mentioning is that fried eggs were even prepared especially for the children - a really nice gesture that made us very happy. We would like to thank you very much for the lovely morning and can warmly recommend this restaurant – especially for families or groups with children. Thank you!

I thought "Hello, please, thank you, bon appetit" were important things when serving people and didn't cost anything, but I've found that with Alex, sometimes (two out of three times) appearance matters.

Beautiful and modern restaurant. The chocolate cake is to die for. Extremely delicious. The staff is very friendly and the price is okay too. We'd love to come back.

I was here yesterday and wanted to eat and drink beer after work. After a horde of migrants and small children turned the restaurant into a playground, I fled. You should have a little more assertiveness as an owner.

In the city center, very busy, a bit rustic but cozy, friendly, good food, selection could be larger, even for small appetites, prices are medium

Hello people, I'm visiting Alex 2 times and I want to complain. The service is zero!!!! I waited 30 minutes and notified twice.

Long opening hours. You can still eat warm food late in the evening. The staff is very nice. You will also be served quickly. The cocktails are great. However, the food wasn't great. At Fish and Potatos there could be a bit more fish on the mountain of fries for the price. And not just a few splashes of lime cream either. The toilets should also be checked more often. In one of the lids smashed, in the other no paper.

Good ambience, harmonious service and good service, only non-alcoholic beer more than cold. Coffee is a bit overpriced for a cup, otherwise good music and nice people

We were there for Sunday brunch and were very happy with the selection. Everything tasted delicious. It would be great if drinks (at least coffee/tea) were included in the price. But otherwise everything was great.

The Alex, to this day one of my absolute favorite places to quickly eat something good, where you always know what you're getting, be it the lemonades, the delicious food or the fabulous, always very nice service, you just always feel at home here! The menu is absolutely brilliant, small snacks, nice portions, reasonable prices. Drinks could be a little cheaper but ok. It's super centrally located and you can usually find a parking space after a short time. There are enough spaces but it's still usually very well booked. We always come back, very happy and have always been satisfied so far, hopefully see you soon, all the best and I remain, Best regards

We were incredibly positively surprised. If you're willing to invest €30 for a ribeye, you should definitely do it here. I didn't expect it. Cooked medium it was super tender. Very good meat very well prepared. The sweet potato fries with recommended aioli were great. Superbowl absolutely did what the card promised. Likewise the starters and the perfect Aperol spritz. The fantastic service rounded off the evening. Both young men were very attentive, courteous, and most importantly, both had a very naturally positive attitude and were very polite. We felt very, very comfortable. Thank you. We will come back and recommend. I ate differently at Alex years ago. Ambience one star less because it could be a little quieter at times.

Went there for coffee today and sat under the awning by the window. Then it started to rain and the employees retracted the awning. Of course it wasn't very nice. There was no indication from the employees that we should go inside. You had to walk back and forth several times to get everything from the table inside. The best thing about it was that when everyone was seated inside, the employees extended the awning again. This way you can also inform the guest that he or she is not welcome.

So I ate here regularly, but I had to wait 30 minutes for my waffle and was very disappointed. The waffle was like old, wasn't even warm and tasted like it had been thawed...

We were there on September 15th. there around 8:00 p.m. Very, very tasty, only the waitress (young woman with glasses) visibly made fun of an overweight guest as she left the restaurant. That's not right. Otherwise everything was tip top 👍🏼

Waited forever, no one came to take an order.

We come from Dresden and were here in Zwickau at Alex on Saturday. We had to wait over half an hour before an order was even taken. The service staff wasn't exactly friendly either. We deliberately decided not to order food because we couldn't estimate how long it would take. I have never experienced such unstructural work. The service staff had no fixed table areas and ran from A to B in complete confusion. As a result, they walked double routes and had no overview of who ordered what, when and who wanted to pay. We also have an Alex on Neumarkt in Dresden, perhaps the staff in Zwickau should exchange ideas with those in Dresden, because the service works for us. After consulting with our manager of the overnight accommodation, we were confirmed that the inadequate service at Alex is known to the locals and cannot be recommended. So it wasn't a one-day problem.

A very nice open, friendly restaurant. You can have a good breakfast and brunch. The choice of food is very diverse, as is the selection of delicious drinks. The prices are a bit too expensive and you are disturbed while eating by a wasp every quarter of an hour. There are lots of hipster drinks too!

I have been a regular guest there since Alex opened. I particularly like the changing menu of dishes. The best is the brunch, which leaves nothing to be desired.

Actually Alex is our first point of contact but this is really not nice. Sticky tables inside. At first we were kept waiting or overlooked, but that lasted until the end. We were probably not upscale guests. And it wasn't that extremely crowded. If you could chat at the bar. Chemnitz Dresden Berlin Hamburg Leipzig much better and friendlier. You are valued as a guest, no matter who you are. They probably weren't good enough or something like that, I have no idea. Our group ordered over €100 between them. But when we realized that we weren't really being served, we ordered the bill. That happened quickly. Nobody liked it or should it be anything. Only when you waved did someone come. The table was only cleared shortly before paying so we couldn't order anything else because there was no more space. Were like air for the employees. Food and drink was OK. Then there were coconut balls with ice cream etc. Asked if you could just get the coconut balls for that price. 2 to 4 pieces and good. No, it doesn't work and it was gone again. So I have no idea, that must be possible. 4 pieces and a bit of cream and then deduct the price based on where there is ice cream etc. Done, no shame. I'm really disappointed at the moment.

A nice location for YOUNG & OLD 😉 ..we always like to come here when we are nearby and we are assigned a nice place. The ambience and musical atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff is young and dynamic and of course very friendly. The food always tastes delicious and, as we know, your eyes eat with you. I personally find unusual creations particularly delicious and tasty 😋. A visit to Alex in Zwickau is definitely recommended 👍🏼

Very good food, reasonably priced. high, but worth the money.

Drinks as well as food are varied and taste very good. If you wait a while for the bill, you will at least have very friendly service staff. Only the men's sanitary area needs urgent renovation. The play area for the children is also rather well-intentioned. I suspect that many small parts (toy trains) found their way to the children's home.

The waitress forgot to book the meal we wanted, so we had to wait 1.5 hours for the food due to the waitress's mistake. And in the end we have We had to pay a total of €8.40 extra for 1 banana juice because we drank 04L but only ordered 02L but you drank the banana juice and that's why you can't even turn a blind eye to the conditions after such a long wait and misbehavior even though it is it was another operator error.

Very friendly staff, freshly prepared dishes but be careful the steps to the toilets are not correct and there is no wheelchair accessible access to the toilet otherwise everything is clean and in keeping with the style of the building

Hi, I was still a regular there until lunchtime yesterday, I think I was always a welcome guest, I even really enjoyed working from there on Fridays, but: yesterday there were 6 of us, not overcrowded. We moved the tables a little "asked beforehand". 1. We waited 45 minutes for someone to come to us 2. Then a waiter who was full of arrogance came by and said that he had to be asked before anything was changed here I have no problem being asked politely, but being treated condescendingly is not my style. I'm happy to give a +20% tip if the service is good, but that now goes to someone else. People better avoid Alex if you don't want to be treated like that. Excellent self-service breakfast at the cold buffet

First the good, the coffee was good. BUT the service was subpar. The coffee spoon had jam on it, after I ordered a new one and it also had red paste on it, I gave up asking for clean cutlery. In the end I almost gave up paying. I wasn't allowed to pay inside, I asked outside, nothing happened, I asked again and nothing again and in the end I had to be rude in order to be allowed to pay for coffee for over 4 euros... In summary, 10 coffee enjoyment and 40 minutes of trying to pay and all without a spoon including an outrageously high additional cost for oat milk...

A visit to "Alex" is always worth it. The visit was an excellent idea for a visit to the old homeland. Delicious food and great service.

The food was great. There is something for everyone and the drinks were just as good, there is a lot to choose from. The equipment and decorations were also very great. Employees were friendly. Just really great. Would recommend it 100%

We always give the Alex team a chance, but today we were disappointed again :( At first we only got the food, they had forgotten drinks. These were only brought when we asked and then the wrong ones too :D At the We were missing half of the food because we were just hungry and thirsty. We had problems with the wrong food and drinks. It was really a shame. We observed that the people at the next table felt no different. They got their food, but no cutlery or drinks. Well...

Was a guest today and experienced how (apparently a former employee) was rudely and brutally thrown out... Despite calling several times, the employee wouldn't let him go... I will never go there again if all guests are treated like this... The food is also too expensive and very tasteless... We were here for brunch on a Sunday and managed to get a seat without a reservation, but that's not common practice. I recommend making reservations in advance! The buffet had a really large selection. There was something for everyone. Freshly prepared and regularly replenished. The breakfast offering was fantastic, the lunch offering was rather poor and not particularly good either. Among other things, there was goulash, which was tough and stringy. The pasta casserole was delicious. My husband ordered a cocoa and when he asked whether it could also be made with lactose-free milk, there were no problems at all. The waitress was very nice, attentive and checked on us regularly. Small deduction at lunch and at the end, when another waitress was supposed to bring us the bill and we were left sitting for half an hour because she forgot to pass it on to her colleague.

Yesterday we took a seat outside... happily expecting to be served. I was wrong, after 20 minutes there was still no one at our table. More staff walked past us without paying attention.....Wow😅 We are in Spain a lot... my suggestion dear ALEX! Why not send your staff to Mallorca for further training....!!! You can learn how to be hospitable there...you can't do it.... We then continued our stay at Dolce Freddo.... nice service, quick and extremely accommodating..... And! there was music in the bar; belongs to summer...

Great menu, great ambience in the city center, delicious food in portions that are a little too small and endless waiting times.

We used to come here often and were always satisfied. But this time disaster. We sat for about 20 minutes, the waiters walked past us a few times with an annoyed expression on their faces and didn't react at all. Then no one showed up anymore. The ambience now looks run down and dingy. We then left without having accomplished anything...because now we were annoyed. A pity.

Asked for tap water on a hot summer day - They are not allowed to give out tap water. So we just got very expensive bottled water in homeopathic doses of 240ml to our cocktails. Food was decent, nothing special. The pulled salmon as a starter was excellent though. Very slow.

Der Sonntagsbrunch ist reichhaltig, die Produkte (Käsesorten, Wurst, Joghurt, etc) allerdings eher aus der Grosspackung als vom Fachgeschäft. Aufmerksamer, wenn auch etwas gestresst wirkender Service.

So we are used to much better things from Alex and his employees. Today's perfect example, a waitress dropped glass in the play area, there is only a rough sweep with a broom and there is no sweeping or mopping under the play table or at our dining table... (it can happen sometimes, but you can clean it with that no one gets hurt) We didn't ask whether there could have been shards in our drinks or food. Now my husband had to ask for new drinks and new bruschetta, actually something like that should have come from the service alone. (I was heavily pregnant) didn't want to eat any more because we didn't know if any shards had fallen in. Shards were even seen a few tables away. We were given new drinks and new bruschetta. Unfortunately it tasted just as mushy as the first one. What I had (was even better) My son 4 wanted to continue playing in the play area but unfortunately it was too dangerous for me with the shards. The waiter we had was very unsympathetic, there was even breakfast from the previous person under our table, which really disgusted me. The waiter was asked for a bill, but he calmly took orders and cleared tables... instead of cashing in first. We actually ordered a table for the evening on Monday (wedding anniversary) but I'm canceling it today. I can't do that to myself twice.

Since it was Pentecost we had a Sunday brunch. The staff was friendly. As always, everything was fully booked and we found a spot outside. The buffet was huge and you were almost overwhelmed by the choice. There is everything your heart desires there From the starter to the main course to the dessert everything was there. Only criticism We thought it was a shame that there was only one drink of our choice. There should be at least one coffee and one orange jus. We would also have liked more fresh fruit...grapes etc. Then we ate the decorations. Otherwise, the price was okay at 20 euros for brunch excluding drinks.

A very nice local, with very friendly service staff and delicious offerings. We really felt very comfortable there and enjoyed the drink and food we ordered. The ambience is very appealing, there is music playing in the background and the service is on point.

Very nice and fast service, schnitzel was unfortunately frozen goods, fried potatoes, on the other hand, were worth 5 stars, the price ratio is completely exaggerated with the chicken karaage for €9.50 for 5 tiny pieces of fried chicken with a dip...quite intense... the salads were fresh and deliciously prepared...
