Unfortunately we didn't have a great visit today. I've been to Alex a few times and it usually took a long time before I could place an order. But this lunchtime visit was definitely the last. It took some time for the waitress to notice us. She didn't really seem like she was happy about extra work either. I got a ginger tea with two mini slices of ginger for a whopping €4.60!!! My request to put a little more in there was granted, but no more hot water was added. The glass was also extremely scratched - I wouldn't offer it to anyone. One of three meals came 10 minutes later... Well, okay. I later ordered ketchup and mayo, but they never arrived. You really have to make an effort for every (extra) order and the payment process, otherwise you won't be noticed here at all. And it was only moderately full. The drinks menu is overall overpriced. The food was ok. Potatoes with curd - well, the dollop of curd wasn't enough. But reordering again wasn't really an option either. I'll never come back and won't recommend it to anyone.

We ordered the Pornstar Martini one evening during the week and were asked to wipe down the table, which was very sticky. The service took everything very friendly. Martin came and oh horror, what is that 🧐? Look at the menu, quick taste test 🙄... It explicitly said "with protein". Well, that's what we were looking for. The taste of the drink was also more disgusting to us than anything else. We drew the waiter's attention to us again and then it was time to wait, wait, wait.... 6 employees behind the counter but only one condition 🤔? Well, at some point my colleague came (without a rag, of course). Then the discussion began... It would just be protein syrup... Mmm ok. It's still missing... Everything else on the menu is also labeled as syrup, but here it explicitly says egg white, so as a guest you assume that there is egg white on the cocktail and not syrup. They have their specifications and that's fine. The waitress then waited around forever and took it Gritting your teeth the cocktails back. Then it took forever again. Wait, wait, wait... Well: quality instead of quantity... Expectations rose... New cocktails were delivered with a freshly cleaned table. But... These were even worse than the first and the egg white? Still wasn't visible. Sorry Alex, but from the service to the quality, it was a complete failure. Better stay away!

The Alex is conveniently located and easily accessible. However, the service mars the visit significantly. After we were seated it took 15 minutes for the order to be taken. It wasn't full though. We sat a little apart near the toilets, where service staff rarely looked or came. We ordered three drinks and cake at the same time. Unfortunately, not everything came together. After 5 minutes the tea and cake came, the beer came after 10 minutes. The apple spritzer that I ordered at the same time arrived after 25 minutes. In the meantime the beer was empty, so we wanted to order another beer. Difficult when no service person comes or at least looks in our direction for 15 minutes. The apple pie, which actually tasted good, was inedible because it was covered all over with a salty caramel sauce. Noticeable - there were still cups and glasses on two unoccupied neighboring tables, which were ignored for quite a while by the service staff who served us. We first expressed our desire to pay to service worker No. 1 and then to service worker No. 2. Then service worker No. 3 came and asked how we wanted to pay. No. 3 then had to go back and get the card reader. Why this question wasn't asked immediately #1 or #2 remains a mystery. In summary, the restaurant is a total failure after the experience.

Very bad food and service, waiting and noises

We went to Alex with a group on Friday just to drink. The service was very friendly and everything worked wonderfully. That's why we reserved a table for dinner on Saturday. The waitress was very busy, so there were waiting times, which weren't a problem for us, but she was still very friendly. However, my food wasn't really great. I got a Chicken Teryaki, which is shown on the menu and was supposed to consist of a tender chicken breast fillet. Mine was cut lengthways so that it consisted of two very thin slices that were also fried until crispy. Hard to bite at times. There's nothing subtle about it. A friend also had chicken teriyaki. Hers was a little bit thicker and not quite as crispy. Her husband had chicken schnitzel with fried potatoes and egg, which was a reasonable thickness. If there had been at least a few more vegetables, it might have saved my mood. But just 2 varieties of onions, a bunch of flat-leaf parsley, a tiny bit of pepper and a pod of peas weren't enough.

Best tarte flambée I've ever eaten! Fennel Salsicia, highly recommended :) Friendly and quick service. It was quite restless at lunchtime because the breakfast buffet was still being cleared away, but that didn't bother us.

I went to Alex for the first time today. Right from the first drink I wanted to order, the service was extremely unfriendly and I am very dissatisfied with the service here. I won't come here again and I definitely can't recommend this place.

We were here on a Saturday in August. It was full and the service staff were obviously completely overwhelmed. No glance at the newly arrived guests and we and those at the next table waited for 20 to 30 minutes until - after asking for service at the counter - someone finally appeared to take our order. Then the orange juices for breakfast were delayed and we had to ask for assistance again at the counter. If there is a lack of wait staff, perhaps you should make coffee, tea and juices part of the buffet so that everyone can help themselves. But unfortunately it wasn't like that.

There were three of us for Sunday brunch - a table reservation is essential here. 🤓 There was an orange juice for everyone as a welcome. 👍The selection of brunch seems to be large, but is unfortunately marred by the poor quality. 😕 The melon was already fermented, the scrambled eggs were very bland, the mini pancakes had a very good consistency, but didn't taste like anything, neither sweet nor savory. Next to it was agave syrup - yes, I also like to use it for salad dressing or for cooking - but where was the maple syrup that should go with pancakes? 🥞😉 The matcha latte was extremely sweet and in my opinion made with some sweetened matcha thing and not the classic matcha. Nobody in our group liked the croissants. Unfortunately the chicken was still raw in some places. The refilling worked well, so that the buffet was always well filled at all times. The price for the buffet including an orange juice is €20, which I find clearly too expensive for this quality. The service was very good, nice, not too intrusive, but still very considerate. Praise to the service team... Addendum - Thank you, dear Alex team, for your quick and detailed feedback. Of course, a buffet doesn't always suit every guest's taste. But little things can make a big difference (adding maple syrup to the pancakes, testing a small piece of melon from the kitchen beforehand to see if it's already "over it", etc.). I'm excited to see what my next breakfast with you will be like. 😉

A review is always a personal matter. For me, the noise level is too high due to the design, although there are different dishes to eat, there isn't really anything there that you can't get at a snack bar.

We showed up just as the fire alarm was going off - the staff appeared immediately and informed us that they could not accept the order until the alarm ended - a big plus for their speed and honesty. A minute after the alarm ended, the waiter was already there and took our orders. 10 minutes later we were able to enjoy our ordered dishes. It was fresh and tasty. The service after the meal was also quick, we didn't have to wait long to settle the bill. I recommend.

I've been there a few times and I must admit that every time everything tastes good and is worth the price, breakfast which costs 15 euros is worth the price because you can eat as much as you want until 12 o'clock. They also have options for children up to 4 years old for free, which I like because children obviously don't eat very much. Nice atmosphere and not far from the center, good access, everything is great.

On Sunday the two of us were there and had a delicious meal and a good drink. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants. The portions could have been larger!

We wanted to have a leisurely breakfast here. So it definitely wasn't comfortable at 10 a.m. When I asked the employee at the bar whether you would be served or self-service, I was rudely told that I had to sit down and the service came, you pay for the buffet and can then serve itself. OK so far so good, then you pay but coffee is not included, you have to pay extra. The one glass of O juice (included in the price) was horrible, definitely from the box from the discount store (no wait, Lidl sells fresh O juice which tastes much better) The buffet was not worth the price, "floppy" rolls, cold cuts, cheese and fruit were not overwhelming. Will never come again. The Waiter was friendly.

The vegan version of the gyoza bowl (with vegetable filling instead of shrimp) saved me through the day. Centrally located in the Wilhelmgalerie. Anyone sitting outside can enjoy the view of the Unity Square. The waitress was remarkably friendly, but wasn't willing to take the lunch order even five minutes before twelve, hence the slight point deduction. Otherwise completely satisfied to thrilled.

Unfortunately the food was very bland, there was hardly any taste in the noodles and the burger patty. Unfortunately, the meat with the pasta is frozen. Staff friendly, food and drinks came quickly, but unfortunately a bit expensive for not enough taste.

I've been here several times over the last 10 years, but I feel like the portions are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher and higher. That's a shame because the quality is no longer what it used to be. Nevertheless, you can eat here and enjoy one or two cocktails. We met today for a belated birthday at Alex for Sunday brunch. We have been here several times and think the buffet is good. Price performance is right. We'd love to come back.

The taste of the food is good, but it is very expensive and not very expensive for the price. The breakfast is delicious and there is a good selection. The tables are very small for breakfast. The staff is very disorganized and since the music is too loud here, a young waitress can't even understand whether we wanted still or sparkling water. If we had said that we wanted sparkling water instead of still water, it would have taken another 30 minutes until we got new water. Well, I really don't like coming here anymore and as long as nothing changes in the staff here, I won't be coming here anymore! Friends and family also pass on the fact that things here are no longer the same as they “used to be”. It's actually a shame because only this restaurant from the “ALEX” chain doesn't manage to hire proper staff.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right Ordered Piccata Milanese. According to the menu with breaded chicken breast fillet. What I got were two quickly fried lumps of molded meat with the consistency of cheap chicken nuggets. The spagetti was very al dente and the Parmigiano Reggiano was exactly 4 small, thin strips. And all for 17€. Yes, everything is becoming more expensive, but the price-performance ratio is simply no longer right. You don't have to go there anymore. The only highlight was the service. They were really very attentive and quick.

There is delicious food here and a great atmosphere inside. There is a children's play area in the outside area and you can let the kids run around the foyer while you wait for the food. Highly recommend the lemonades and iced teas.

Ein sehr gut besuchtes Restaurant. Die Bedienung ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Hat uns die voraussichtliche längere Zubereitungszeit von 30 min mitgeteilt ( ist völlig ok ) Nach 15 min war alles da . Die Limonaden sind zu empfehlen. Alles sehr lecker und professionell zubereitet und seviert. Jederzeit gern wieder.

Wir machen jährlich ein Familientreffen, diesmal war Potsdam angesagt. Der Abend sollte mit einer vorab Reservierung im Alex seinen krönenden Abschluss finden. Jedoch was ich da erlebt habe sucht in meinem langen und erfolgreichen Leben als Globetrotter seines gleichen. Es stimmt „ Reisen bildet“.Bestellaufnahme erfolgte flott, da die Speisekarte sehr übersichtlich war und die angebotenen Gerichte kein Hexenwerk erfordern, mit dem Hinweiß es könnte 30 bis 40 Minuten dauern, okay dachten wir. Dann erlaubte sich meine Nichte nach 1 Stunde mal zu fragen wo die Vorspeisen bleiben, außer Ignoranz und böse Blicke kam nichts. Das Stimmungsbild verschlechterte sich zusehends, nach 1 Stunde und 50 Minuten haben wir beschlossen die Getränke zu zahlen und sind hungrig gegangen. Es kam weder eine Entschuldigung noch ein Wort des bedauerns, dann entdeckten wir die PiPaSa Pizza 150 Meter entfernt, toller Service, Tolles Essen, schnell und gut, so geht Gastronomie und unser Abend war gerettet .

Wir waren mit der Familie zu 7. am Abend in der Gaststätte. Nach 1,5 Stunden haben wir gefragt, wann unsere 2 Vorspeisen kommen. Nach wiederum 15 Minuten kamen die Vorspeisen auch endlich. Unser Essen haben wir dann wiederum nach insgesamt 2,25 Stunden bekommen. Das Servicepersonal hat versucht zu beschwichtigen und blieb freundlich aber für uns war es das letzte mal, dass wir hier essen waren.

The food is quite good, especially if you can't agree on a specific cuisine. There is a wide variety of things on the standard menu, from burgers and fries to schnitzel, tarte flambée and curry dishes. Personally, I particularly love the seasonal menu, where the range of desserts usually changes depending on the season (summer & winter). The staff is mostly very, very friendly. However, sometimes we don't really understand the concept because you don't get a dedicated service person per table per visit. (So ​​one person takes the order, another brings drinks, a third brings the food and a fourth takes the payment.) The size of the place is really cool because you can still get a seat even when it's relatively full because there are enough tables. In addition, the location is really ideal.

Wir waren zu acht am Abend im Alex Essen. Wir hatten reserviert, dies hat schon mal sehr gut geklappt. Das Angebot war sehr gut und vor allen das Essen hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Das größte Lob bekommt unser Kellner Fritz. Er belebte den Abend mit Freundlichkeit, Witz und guter Laune. Der Service ist lobenswert.

Delicious food, finally a restaurant that actually serves a large / mega-sized portion of coffee alongside a pot of coffee. Very tasty cakes and friendly staff. The only thing that took a long time was that when we wanted to pay, we were made to wait for a long time, although there were several times when we had to collect our table. But that wasn't a big deal, just inconvenient at the time. :-), great atmosphere and the toilets are clean, very important for me.

The monthly salsa parties there are legendary, mega!! I'm driving across Berlin to Potsdsm for it. Great music, ideal location with lots of space and super friendly service. The entire salsa scene from Potsdam, Berlin and the surrounding area meets there for hot Caribbean dance evenings.

I always had the feeling that there were a lot of interns behind the counter trying to make each other's profile. I sat across from the counter, I kept trying to make eye contact with the service staff. Unfortunately unsuccessful. So I had to wait 30 minutes before I could pay. My cappuccino came long after the waffles. These waffles for just under €8 were simply slapped carelessly onto the plate, at that price you can expect a better presentation of the goods! Unfortunately the dough tasted disappointing and was very stiff. If these waffles were actually freshly prepared, you should think about improving the preparation in the kitchen.

So far I've only ever been there for the breakfast buffet and it's always delicious. The selection is large, the quality is good and the drinks we ordered were always tasty, only once a lemonade was a bit thin, but otherwise we were always satisfied. It is very child-friendly there, there are high chairs and even a play area in the gallery. Dogs are also welcome there. All in all a great meeting place 👍

We were a family of 4 for breakfast at Alex for Men's Day. Very rich, very nice and accommodating from the staff. Any time again and highly recommended!

First of all, the good things. The waiter who served us that evening (Friday) was absolutely adorable! He was super accommodating and just refreshing with his manner! I really hope he stays longer because unfortunately you see different faces every few months. Now for the worse. The food. The red curry was lovingly prepared, but tasted exactly like a well-known ready meal manufacturer. I was really speechless. The number of chicken pieces was also identical. To be exact, four pieces!! When I asked the waiter about it, I was assured that it was not the ready-made meal that I know from the supermarket, but that it was a system gastro and the things were cooked beforehand. I wasn't aware of that and yet it really disappointed me. The whole thing for a price of just under €16! For a pre-cooked meal that is simply warmed up! (Warm, not hot) We're used to different things there and I think we won't eat there anymore.
