The seating is very comfortable in lovely armchairs. The staff is very friendly, everything is very clean, and there's a great selection of items such as ice cream and cakes.

As long-time regular customers at various locations, e.g., ALEX at Alexanderplatz in Berlin, Potsdam, Rostock, Magdeburg, etc., I'd like to voice a criticism today. At ALEX at Alexanderplatz and yesterday also in Potsdam, we ordered classic schnitzel with fries. The fries were too hard, the breading was just okay. We have the impression, or rather the experience, that this wasn't the case before the introduction of the new menu. Back then, the fries were thinner and significantly better.

You can always find a seat, whether inside or outside. It's nice to sit together, but if you don't arrive in a large group, the staff doesn't really notice you. There were two of us, and we only received attention after we approached them. However, the staff is very friendly when interacting with each other. We tried the weekly specials. The price-performance ratio was very good, and despite not being freshly prepared, it was very tasty. Since it was only reheated, the meat in the middle was unfortunately cold; it was bitterly tender, so tender you could practically crush it with your tongue.

We were sitting in the atrium of the Wilhelm Galerie and wanted to order a midday snack. The waitress was absolutely friendly, but everything took a very long time. First the drinks order, then the food order, and then more drinks. Each time, we had to wait a long time. It's very noisy in the atrium, and the tables, which are grouped together, are all different heights; unfortunately, this also detracts from the overall impression.

We (3 adults, 1 child) were there for brunch. Very good, varied selection. When something ran out, it was immediately refilled. One orange juice was included in the price. Super friendly service staff. We would gladly go there again.

Great place, and we were lucky with our host. There was even one who was sleeping behind the bar. Even when guests waved an empty wine bottle, he didn't see it 🤣🤭

The breakfast was very good as always.

Like most restaurants, it's very loud, but otherwise relatively cozy. It's absolutely not suitable for vegetarians, however, as the chefs eventually became unwilling to put an existing vegetarian patty on a regular burger. Instead, you have to order the vegetarian burger, which has other ingredients that you don't really need or want on a burger. When this started, even the waiters were surprised by the kitchen's reluctance... who knows what kind of people they are if this is too much for them.

Service and location were good. However, the buffet was very poor. The pickled items and fruit compote were mostly old or spoiled. I've been there twice and had food poisoning and stomach problems both times.

Waiting over an hour for food is simply unacceptable.

The food was excellent, but the service was unfortunately not good at all. We waited 30 minutes before we were even served. The food and drinks came quickly. While we were eating, we ordered some extra quark for our baked potato. After 10 minutes, I went to the counter and got it myself... Then we wanted to pay, and the cashier went out to smoke a cigarette. Another cashier then took the money and apologized for the service, visibly annoyed with his colleagues. We would have understood if the restaurant had been full, but that wasn't the case; maybe 60% of the tables were occupied.

It's a shame you don't get a small glass of water with your espresso. It's actually standard practice; even the staff found it embarrassing.

The Alex in Potsdam has definitely improved significantly since my last visit years ago, both in terms of service and selection and quality. The price/performance ratio is good, and the quality of the food surprised me.

We ordered an espresso, but it was served without a glass of water. Upon asking, we were told: "We're not Italian." That's not going to win any prizes, especially not at €3.30.

Three of us went there for a coffee and were very impressed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and in a great mood. Despite the restaurant being quite full, the service was quite quick. We ordered waffles with cherries, ice cream, and whipped cream, and I can honestly say I've never had such exquisitely prepared waffles anywhere else. The environment is generally fine, but it could be a bit cleaner.

Schnitzel and fish and chips Schnitzel was okay but the portion is quite small and 16 euro for such small is it quite expensive. Not that great too Sweet potato was really nice and the sauce along with too. Fish and chips is more of chips than fish. It felt like chef couldn't catch enougt fish for the day so he loaded with chips lol. But fish chips taste was super! Its quite expensive tbh I find not worth it to eat but great place to hangout with your friend or partner. Calm and cozy

No German-speaking staff. Ordered drinks and waited more than 30 minutes. Staff overwhelmed, will never return.

What I like: Friendly and attentive staff. Selection for everyone. Accessible entrance, central location. What I don't like: If you sit near the restroom, the smell occasionally spills onto your plate. The pricing policy has increased quite a bit. (But that's always a matter of opinion.)

We weren't actually planning on eating here at first, but the weather wasn't favorable. So we did, and we didn't regret it. We waited less than a minute and waitress Denis was already there. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. It was delicious.

Super friendly staff and a wide-ranging menu with something for everyone. The cocktails are also great. The only reason I deducted one star is because of the food, which, while frozen, tasted too dry for me. Nevertheless, the café is very nice and has a beautiful glass roof inside.

I never normally write reviews. But what we experienced at the breakfast buffet today was so bad that I can't leave it uncommented. The two of us arrived, in a good mood and hungry. At the entrance, we politely asked if we could sit down – the answer: "Yes, of course!" Nice thought, but unfortunately, the service mentality ended there 🥲 We sat at the table for about five minutes, no one came, no explanation, nothing. So we went to the buffet and asked if we could help ourselves. A waiter showed us where the plates were. So we got our food, sat down again – and then came the big moment: Another waiter rushed over to our table and lectured us in an accusatory, passive-aggressive tone that we "should let them know first before going to the buffet." After that, he simply turned around and left us pretty speechless, because that's exactly why we'd asked twice. After this "service conversation," we had absolutely no desire to eat anymore. The food itself was good, with a fairly large selection and freshly prepared. For me, a good meal also includes service that allows you to fully enjoy the meal and go home satisfied. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. P.S.: My juice glass was sticky, and I didn't enjoy drinking from it at all 💀

Even after years, I haven't been able to fully grasp how the ALEX people divide their territories. So, whether you have drinks all the time depends largely on the person on duty. If you take a seat outside, you're guaranteed at least one "free freak show moment" per visit—due to the proximity to Platz der Einheit (Unit Square). Everything's fine in the shop itself and in the "outdoor area," the Wilhelm Galerie interior.

I went there for the first time last week. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed and the food was sooo yummy! I ordered a teriyaki salmon bowl and a homemade Alex lemonade and they were soooo good! 😊🥰

Whether it's creamy hot chocolate, sparkling homemade lemonade, or a tropical cocktail 🍹; whether it's a creative salad 🥗, creamy cake 🥧, or caramelized Kaiserschmarrn – I find it hard to find something I don't like here. 😋 Credit cards are accepted. We often come here for drinks and food and enjoy it. The food is consistently of excellent quality, and the service from the hard-working and attentive staff is particularly noteworthy. We'd like to emphasize that Alex served us with great friendliness.

We went to brunch at Alex for the first time today. We were pleased with the selection and size of the buffet. Unfortunately, an incident occurred when the waiter dropped the orange juice on his tray, and I got it on my face. My sweater and pants were wet, and the waiter didn't apologize, just said, "Well, apparently I got more of it." It's understandable that such mistakes can happen, but in such situations, you should accommodate guests or at least apologize. In general, one had the impression that the waiters were more busy chatting, as plates weren't being cleared regularly.

The Café ALEX is impressive because of its tradition. Here the guest gets what he expects from the brand. Tasty and well cooked. This time we went to the breakfast buffet at Café ALEX in Potsdam. And it's worth it. The selection is large and extensive. The food offered is tasty and good. The service was special. We were lucky to be seated at a table supervised by Dennis. Not only is he an authentically friendly fellow, he also looked after the well-being of his guests with good advice.

Actually a very nice atmosphere with a very nice large sun terrace. The staff is really super friendly nice helpful and accommodating and the view of the park is really lovely on a nice sunny day the menu promises really tasty food and a nice selection so it's worth eating. Unfortunately, appearances are more like reality

The chicken schnitzel is now molded meat and looks like a building block. After cutting it, it doesn't work at all, before it was very tasty. That was the last time we ate there. Ketchup and mayo are charged extra.

We ate breakfast at Alex for a week. The young dynamic team was always present and always friendly. No matter how crowded the store was.
