The food is absolutely delicious and there is a huge selection, everything is fresh and appetizing. The black coffee is not recommended, I had to leave it, even though I usually drink a lot of coffee. I think the size is good if you are there with children (they can jump around). Today the sun was shining, everyone in my row opposite couldn't see anything. Service was thoughtful and kind. All in all, thumbs up, because 100% is rare

Casual for young and old, something for everyone to eat and drink, prices ok, we were there three times in three days and were always satisfied.

Since we discovered salsa parties, as absolute lovers of Latin American rhythms, there has been no better place to listen to the wonderful sounds of salsa and dance until late into the night! The incredibly friendly staff and the audience from all over the world give the whole event a wonderful flair of serenity and friendliness! Even the journey from our hometown of Erfurt is not too far for us! An absolute recommendation!

Always Alex Service and ambience great and a huge menu

Very good restaurant, delicious food and good to recommend with small children. There is also a play/craft/painting corner and a large indoor area where the little ones can move around. Very nice staff.

Nach einem Besuch im Museum Barberini entdeckte mein Kollege und ich das Alex am Platz der Einheit. Eine ansprechende Einrichtung empfängt den Gast. Besonders die Sessel im Innenbereich sind sehr gemütlich. Die Speisekarte ist sehr reichhaltig, bietet Suppen, Salate, Fleisch-u. Fischgerichte, Pasta, Burger und noch vieles mehr (auch vegetarisch oder vegan). Das Alex kann ich nur empfehlen (ja auch Systemgastronomie kann sehr lecker sein!). Die Bedienung freundlich aufmerksam und flott, besonders erwähnenswert Herr Laurenz und auch Herr Jasser. Als aufmerksamer Gast bekommt man mit, dass sich die Kollegen untereinander helfen, was den Gästen ja auch zugutekommt. Ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt! Bei meinem nächsten Potsdam-Besuch werde ich das Alex auf jeden Fall wieder aufsuchen. Mindestens 11 von 10 Punkten ;-). Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team Thomas Geyersbach aus Berlin

Unfortunately the restaurant was disappointing. You are not assigned a table and have to find one yourself - pretty chaotic. The average waiting time for food is 50-60 minutes, which is clearly too long. Although the food is really delicious, you should only come here if you are not hungry, otherwise you will hardly be able to stand the wait.

We come from Rostock and really enjoy being at Alex... Alex is also great in Potsdam.

The Alex is apparently very popular with Potsdam residents and tourists. We had a hearty breakfast in a larger group and there was everything we needed for breakfast. Perhaps a little more variety in sausage and bread would be possible. The coffee is excellent in all varieties and the service is friendly and very attentive.

The brunch at Alex Potsdam is a real highlight and impresses with a rich and varied selection of breakfast, lunch and dessert options. From fresh baked goods to hearty warm dishes and sweet desserts – the quality and variety of the dishes leave nothing to be desired. There is something for every taste here, and the selection is definitely recommended. A small drawback, however, is the outdoor seating. Unfortunately, after a while the chairs become a bit uncomfortable, which spoils the overall impression a bit - especially if you plan to stay longer. In addition, the drinks prices are quite high compared to the food, which weakens the overall price-performance ratio somewhat. Overall, brunch at Alex Potsdam is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to enjoy a good mix of breakfast and lunch with a sweet ending. If you focus on the food and accept the small criticisms, you will certainly have a successful brunch.

Like almost everywhere with Alex. Reliably high quality brunch with super friendly staff. Unfortunately there was not enough choice of warm dishes and vegetables were completely missing. In winter it's nice to sit in the restaurant, but the atrium is a bit cool and noisy. Overall, definitely recommended

Were registered for brunch with 5 big and 3 little mice. Not placed in the hall as ordered, but directly at the entrance in a plow path to the buffet. Very tiring with little mice. The tables thrown together wobbled and were very small. The Alex was simply too crowded for the mass of people who wanted to have brunch there. The service was great and friendly and ironed out the rather bad impression. Unfortunately, price/performance cannot be praised. We paid €15 per person, but all drinks were extra, even the coffee. So the bottom line was €30 per nose (without alcohol). Unfortunately there aren't that many opportunities to have brunch with mice in Potsdam, I don't recommend it...

Went to Alex for brunch for the first time today. We were overwhelmed. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Very fast service even though it was very full. The selection at the buffet was completely sufficient in our opinion. Great taste. Everything fresh. We will go there again for brunch. Great team. Continue So. Only recommended. We had ordered a table for 15 people by phone. The service on the phone was friendly and competent. We all ordered the breakfast buffet. The staff on site was friendly, courteous and competent. There were enough staff so that long waiting times (e.g. for ordering drinks) were avoided. The selection at the buffet was very large and the food was very tasty. The price was okay, although tea/coffee would be great if it were included in the price. Otherwise it's worth recommending, especially for larger groups, but it's best to pre-order by phone because a lot of customers come there. Have a good hunger :)

When I decided to go here for Christmas dinner with my extended family, we were a little disappointed. I didn't find just one hair in my food (Alex Cheeseburger)! My family, with the exception of the youngsters, enjoyed it, as the saying goes, “okay”. The cheekiness that occurred is that I was grotesquely dumped when I asked for a new portion. I have decided not to dine here again.

We were there at 9:30 a.m. with 15 people, the scrambled eggs were cold, the coffee was only lukewarm. We won't go there anymore.

We were there with a group that day. Overall quite good, as there were committed and friendly waitresses on site. The Alex Cheeseburger, however, was not tasty. The ingredients were tasty, so overall it was ok. But either the meat wasn't cooked properly or it always tastes so bland here. Too bad. It doesn't have to be as perfect as it looked, but rather tasty. We eat fresh burgers regularly, outside of fast food chains. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio didn't match at all in this case. We hope that the waitress passed our comment on to the kitchen when we cleared it (the first in our lives).

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast selection and the value for money. It reminded us more of a classic hotel breakfast with rolls, sausage and cheese. Special features of the selection such as ideas e.g. a cashew dip/sweet potato salad/Bircher muesli/etc. would have contributed to a more positive assessment. A large bottle of fake water costs €7.20 and a large glass of freshly squeezed orange juice costs €11.00, which we find to be overpriced.

No matter the city, always happy. Price performance is great. The offerings and service vary somewhat regionally. But always polite and trying to be a good host to the guest. In Potsdam the terrace could be swept and some things could be renewed and replaced...

Zufällig kamen wir an dieser Location vorbei. Erster Eindruck: viel Betrieb, sehr groß und laut. Die Speisekarte präsentierte interessante Kleinigkeiten. Leider war das, was dann auf den Tisch kam , einfach nur von mieser Qualität. Der Cappuccino war bitter. Die Waffeln mit Kirschgrütze waren einfach optisch und geschmacklich schlecht. Die Grütze ein billiges Gelantine - Industrieprodukt. Der Cappuccino kam schnell und war bereits kalt als die Waffeln nach langer Wartezeit serviert wurden. Dazu ein Service mit brandenburgischen Charme, den man nicht unbedingt als zuvorkommend empfinden kann. Fazit: totaler Reinfall

We always enjoy coming here for breakfast and brunch. Very well attended. Therefore, a reservation is advisable. You can't complain about the food. There is a lot to choose from and tastes good.

As in every Alex, the food is great. We sat in the dog restaurant and the atmosphere here is great. The service was always very good and special requests were well addressed. I don't like the atmosphere in the "hall" but you can easily avoid it.

Unfortunately we didn't have a great visit today. I've been to Alex a few times and it usually took a long time before I could place an order. But this lunchtime visit was definitely the last. It took some time for the waitress to notice us. She didn't really seem like she was happy about extra work either. I got a ginger tea with two mini slices of ginger for a whopping €4.60!!! My request to put a little more in there was granted, but no more hot water was added. The glass was also extremely scratched - I wouldn't offer it to anyone. One of three meals came 10 minutes later... Well, okay. I later ordered ketchup and mayo, but they never arrived. You really have to make an effort for every (extra) order and the payment process, otherwise you won't be noticed here at all. And it was only moderately full. The drinks menu is overall overpriced. The food was ok. Potatoes with curd - well, the dollop of curd wasn't enough. But reordering again wasn't really an option either. I'll never come back and won't recommend it to anyone.

We ordered the Pornstar Martini one evening during the week and were asked to wipe down the table, which was very sticky. The service took everything very friendly. Martin came and oh horror, what is that 🧐? Look at the menu, quick taste test 🙄... It explicitly said "with protein". Well, that's what we were looking for. The taste of the drink was also more disgusting to us than anything else. We drew the waiter's attention to us again and then it was time to wait, wait, wait.... 6 employees behind the counter but only one condition 🤔? Well, at some point my colleague came (without a rag, of course). Then the discussion began... It would just be protein syrup... Mmm ok. It's still missing... Everything else on the menu is also labeled as syrup, but here it explicitly says egg white, so as a guest you assume that there is egg white on the cocktail and not syrup. They have their specifications and that's fine. The waitress then waited around forever and took it Gritting your teeth the cocktails back. Then it took forever again. Wait, wait, wait... Well: quality instead of quantity... Expectations rose... New cocktails were delivered with a freshly cleaned table. But... These were even worse than the first and the egg white? Still wasn't visible. Sorry Alex, but from the service to the quality, it was a complete failure. Better stay away!

I hadn't eaten anything, so I can't give a review. The service is 🔝 and friendly too.

The Alex is conveniently located and easily accessible. However, the service mars the visit significantly. After we were seated it took 15 minutes for the order to be taken. It wasn't full though. We sat a little apart near the toilets, where service staff rarely looked or came. We ordered three drinks and cake at the same time. Unfortunately, not everything came together. After 5 minutes the tea and cake came, the beer came after 10 minutes. The apple spritzer that I ordered at the same time arrived after 25 minutes. In the meantime the beer was empty, so we wanted to order another beer. Difficult when no service person comes or at least looks in our direction for 15 minutes. The apple pie, which actually tasted good, was inedible because it was covered all over with a salty caramel sauce. Noticeable - there were still cups and glasses on two unoccupied neighboring tables, which were ignored for quite a while by the service staff who served us. We first expressed our desire to pay to service worker No. 1 and then to service worker No. 2. Then service worker No. 3 came and asked how we wanted to pay. No. 3 then had to go back and get the card reader. Why this question wasn't asked immediately #1 or #2 remains a mystery. In summary, the restaurant is a total failure after the experience.

Very bad food and service, waiting and noises

We went to Alex with a group on Friday just to drink. The service was very friendly and everything worked wonderfully. That's why we reserved a table for dinner on Saturday. The waitress was very busy, so there were waiting times, which weren't a problem for us, but she was still very friendly. However, my food wasn't really great. I got a Chicken Teryaki, which is shown on the menu and was supposed to consist of a tender chicken breast fillet. Mine was cut lengthways so that it consisted of two very thin slices that were also fried until crispy. Hard to bite at times. There's nothing subtle about it. A friend also had chicken teriyaki. Hers was a little bit thicker and not quite as crispy. Her husband had chicken schnitzel with fried potatoes and egg, which was a reasonable thickness. If there had been at least a few more vegetables, it might have saved my mood. But just 2 varieties of onions, a bunch of flat-leaf parsley, a tiny bit of pepper and a pod of peas weren't enough.

Best tarte flambée I've ever eaten! Fennel Salsicia, highly recommended :) Friendly and quick service. It was quite restless at lunchtime because the breakfast buffet was still being cleared away, but that didn't bother us.

I went to Alex for the first time today. Right from the first drink I wanted to order, the service was extremely unfriendly and I am very dissatisfied with the service here. I won't come here again and I definitely can't recommend this place.

We were here on a Saturday in August. It was full and the service staff were obviously completely overwhelmed. No glance at the newly arrived guests and we and those at the next table waited for 20 to 30 minutes until - after asking for service at the counter - someone finally appeared to take our order. Then the orange juices for breakfast were delayed and we had to ask for assistance again at the counter. If there is a lack of wait staff, perhaps you should make coffee, tea and juices part of the buffet so that everyone can help themselves. But unfortunately it wasn't like that.

You can actually eat well there. But I have to note one thing, there is a better place for brunch.

There were three of us for Sunday brunch - a table reservation is essential here. 🤓 There was an orange juice for everyone as a welcome. 👍The selection of brunch seems to be large, but is unfortunately marred by the poor quality. 😕 The melon was already fermented, the scrambled eggs were very bland, the mini pancakes had a very good consistency, but didn't taste like anything, neither sweet nor savory. Next to it was agave syrup - yes, I also like to use it for salad dressing or for cooking - but where was the maple syrup that should go with pancakes? 🥞😉 The matcha latte was extremely sweet and in my opinion made with some sweetened matcha thing and not the classic matcha. Nobody in our group liked the croissants. Unfortunately the chicken was still raw in some places. The refilling worked well, so that the buffet was always well filled at all times. The price for the buffet including an orange juice is €20, which I find clearly too expensive for this quality. The service was very good, nice, not too intrusive, but still very considerate. Praise to the service team... Addendum - Thank you, dear Alex team, for your quick and detailed feedback. Of course, a buffet doesn't always suit every guest's taste. But little things can make a big difference (adding maple syrup to the pancakes, testing a small piece of melon from the kitchen beforehand to see if it's already "over it", etc.). I'm excited to see what my next breakfast with you will be like. 😉

A review is always a personal matter. For me, the noise level is too high due to the design, although there are different dishes to eat, there isn't really anything there that you can't get at a snack bar.

There are many original ice cream sundaes and e.g. B. Lemon and orange still have a few pieces of peel in the ice cream, which made it very tasty.

We showed up just as the fire alarm was going off - the staff appeared immediately and informed us that they could not accept the order until the alarm ended - a big plus for their speed and honesty. A minute after the alarm ended, the waiter was already there and took our orders. 10 minutes later we were able to enjoy our ordered dishes. It was fresh and tasty. The service after the meal was also quick, we didn't have to wait long to settle the bill. I recommend.

Wanted to have breakfast with the family today. Even though it wasn't crowded at all, we were simply ignored and then left. If it had been full we would have understood but simply being ignored doesn't work for you. It's a shame that the service has declined. You used to be better.

I've been there a few times and I must admit that every time everything tastes good and is worth the price, breakfast which costs 15 euros is worth the price because you can eat as much as you want until 12 o'clock. They also have options for children up to 4 years old for free, which I like because children obviously don't eat very much. Nice atmosphere and not far from the center, good access, everything is great.
