The food and drinks are overpriced for the quality. The drinks, in particular, are filled to the brim with ice. The servers are friendly, but it takes forever for someone to take your order or serve you.

We went to Alex for brunch today. Our waiter, Mr. Ferhat, was very polite and attentive. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to the entire Alex team. See you soon. Best regards.

Disappointing and unprofessional* We were at Café Alex around 10:15 a.m. today and were initially greeted in a friendly manner with “free choice of seating”. But then the disappointment began: the waitress completely ignored us – for almost 20 minutes! No card, no eye contact, no service. Instead, the employee decided to go outside with a coffee and his colleague and enjoy smoking one or even two cigarettes. An absolute no-go! We ended up leaving without ordering. For a café of this size and location, this is a real disgrace. This is how you lose guests permanently

I always enjoy going to Café Alex on Rotkreuzplatz. Today on the occasion of my birthday, but also when you want to treat yourself to something good. Very friendly staff and a very nice selection of food. Highly recommended.

So actually Alex is a restaurant chain. You think that the quality should be similar everywhere. Far from it!!! The Alex at Rotkreuzplatz has developed into one of the most reudiest restaurants ever! Were there at lunchtime on a sunny bridge day... If I'm not interested in my job as a waiter, I should probably look for something else! I don't have to take my bad mood out on the guests!! The food was poor quality, the toilets were horrible and there wasn't even a hint of service!! Everyone understands if it takes a little longer on a day when there is a lot going on. But for the prices that are quoted, you should at least show a certain basic quality and a certain basic service! A little tip for the waiters there: If you smile and are friendly despite a stressful day, you'll get (more) tips! I would recommend everyone to make a beeline for Alex at Rotkreuzplatz! If you want to go to an Alex, take it in Pasing! The two restaurants are a difference like night and day.

This is the third time I've been to Café Alex on Rotkreuzplatz - and every time I'm thrilled. The friendly, attentive service, the varied menu and the pleasantly spacious ambience always surprise me. A place to feel good, linger and enjoy. Clearly for me: my new favorite spot! Absolute recommendation.

Went to brunch today and waited at the entrance for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I turned to the theme manager and politely said that we had already been waiting 10 minutes at the entrance for our reserved table. The lady said then wait another 10 minutes and the waiter would take care of them. Just cheeky. The waiter who served us was nice and polite. I ordered a large coffee, it was just milk I had to order more. Later I asked at the counter whether there was a disabled toilet, the answer was yes in the basement. Please, how am I supposed to get down the stairs with a wheelchair. The lady saw that I was in a wheelchair. I felt very hurt when I was perceived like that. Me and my 5 guests will definitely avoid the restaurant in the future. The restaurant is not barrier-free. Unfriendly staff, no consideration for people with severe disabilities. Towel dryer inconvenient on the door, it's annoying to dry when the door opens.

Were there for the first time and it was very good. We had the breakfast buffet for €16.90 per person, but only during the week! At the weekend I think it costs €22.90! There were enough seats and the buffet was very rich and there were lots of delicacies! Everything was always freshly replenished! We would be happy to come back and recommend it to others!

Many tables on the terrace were occupied, only one in the middle of the others was free - which was uncomfortable for me because you have to walk through the crowd. So I sat down at a quieter table opposite the door. However, the blonde waitress said she didn't serve there - even though the table was hardly further away. Very nice staff, prices very affordable but very clean for Munich. You could set a price for apple juice with amaretto instead of paying for both items separately. My personal opinion. Otherwise everything was top and highly recommended.

The breakfast buffet is my favorite, optimal price-performance ratio. Very large selection, eggs in all variations, bread + rolls, various salads, salmon, tomatoes/mozzarella, sausage, cheese, fruit, muesli, etc.

Have been here for kaffee kuchen. The carrot cake was amazing. A must try. They also have a lot of vegan food options. So will visit again to try.

Be careful with the bowl! I actually ate a vegetable bowl and didn't think anything of it. It tasted delicious, but unfortunately, I ended up in bed with food poisoning afterward. The bowl was a brief pleasure. My friends weren't feeling well after the restaurant visit either. Please pay attention to hygiene!

Brunch is well stocked with warm food and cold food, so if you only want bread rolls and the like. What was still sad, there were 6 of us and wanted to sit outside, but we weren't allowed to set up 2 tables... either 2 or 4, otherwise you'd sit inside, a shame when the weather was so nice that day 😒

Street cafe with lots of seats in the sun. The few service staff did their best, but the waitress was at her limits with the many seats occupied. The food was ok, nothing more. Recommendation to have a drink in the sun, I would eat somewhere else soon.

Friendly waitress. On the afternoon of February 21st we were sitting at the big table at the back with work colleagues. We ordered raspberry rosemary lemo.

I'm amazed at the enthusiasm. The breakfast buffet is average. Sausage and cheese are average goods and you can buy this quality at the nearest discount store. The display is not regularly replenished and then the 2 or 3 slices of cheese lie around for 20 minutes. At the same time, the products are repeated every time in the display. Always the same. No variation or anything new. The staff at the counter (February 21, 2025) are actively discussing events/experiences with colleagues, etc. The waitresses don't show up (4 in number) and prefer to stand at the counter and wait for one drink after the other to be prepared. Even though we were only 2 meters away, we waited almost 5 minutes for eye contact. We just wanted to order a cafe and cappuccino. Ultimately, I had to interrupt the exciting conversation between the four waitresses with a “Excuse me, we would have liked to order something more.” There was something about the looks from all the staff. In my opinion, the store is totally overrated for the price range: quality and staff are average. You won't see me again any time soon.

Wonderful cafe with a great atmosphere! I recently went to this café again after a long time and I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The coffee was excellent – ​​aromatic and perfectly prepared. The staff was, as always, super friendly and attentive, you immediately feel welcome. Imagine going to Alex's for dinner, ordering drinks and sitting there for an hour until you want to eat and the waiter tells you at 6:30 p.m. that the kitchen has unexpectedly closed and won't be opening again. No warning, nothing. Drinks finished, paid and changed location.

We are regulars at this establishment. We arrive and the waiters just ask “As usual?” It will be great entertainment. It's clean and you get service quickly. I can recommend it at any time. Kind regards to the bar and waiters.

I went there for Sunday Brunch. They highlighted pancakes in their buffet menu. But there was no pancake, when I asked for it, they said they will offer it after the apple cakes are over. I waited 2 hours, no pancake was offered and people hardly touched the apple cakes. Considering the variety of the buffet, I find the Sunday Brunch overpriced.

The brunch was an absolute disgrace!!! For €22.50 per person you can expect the scrambled eggs to be warm, the fried eggs to be warm... Even Nuremberg sausages were old limp and, if at all, only lukewarm. The white sausages were the height of impudence, old and lukewarm in taste, a disaster by Munich standards. Conclusion: Nice location, good food, unfortunately no soap in the toilet. We were there for brunch. The buffet offered a large selection. Cheese and sausage selection was very good. There was salmon, spreads, a glass of Ojuice, a large selection of rolls and bread. Various egg dishes, bacon and sausages, white sausages, apple strudel, fruit, muesli and salads. There was also a selection of lunch: roast, dumplings, red cabbage. The roast pork was very dry and the dumpling was very firm, but still good. Cost: ~23€ Drinks are an extra charge. Coffee, spritzers, aperitifs were all very tasty and the menu tempts us to visit again. 1 star deducted because there was no soap in the toilet and the hand dryer was broken. Even after I told the counter, nothing happened about the soap 1.5 hours later - a shame. Another way to dry your hands would also be nice. All in all recommended!

At first the staff seemed a little overwhelmed by the larger crowd in the evening (Sunday 7 p.m.). Ordered fairly quickly when we got there, the time until the meal passed quickly, the ambience was great! Burger with bacon, fried onions, cucumber and tomato in a crispy roll, with fries with truffle mayo - very good. The linguine with pesto and burrata was a little small in portion, but very tasty. A wide selection of deserts completes the visit.

We went to Alex for Christmas brunch as a small family for the very first time - and we were completely satisfied! Nice atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food at a fair price. Only the drinks are relatively expensive, but our children were allowed to eat for free (the buffet only costs the children's price from the age of 6).

Are you tired of those over-the-top hipster coffee bars with their IKEA ambience? Then go to Alex because it has a classic coffee house vibe. Unfortunately, they make a somewhat burnt machine coffee, but at least there is a reasonable selection of food, just as you would expect from a brasserie. Five stars for service and culture. 2 stars for machine coffee. Really a shame. Note to the operator: decent espressos are worth the effort. And the workforce can learn this, even if it takes a few extra days to get used to it.

White sausage was very bad and it quickly became noisy, otherwise delicious food and nice service. 8/10

This place won't see me again - and I've always enjoyed going there. We had to wait forever for service. Some of the food was okay, but two of them weren't particularly happy. My meal tasted good, but the salad garnish only consisted of a pile of parsley tufts without anything. I also didn't have a spoon for my very saucey meal, when the waiter finally came the food was cold. They brought me two different sized wine spritzers, for which I then had to pay the same price. The way the waiter behaved when I didn't want to accept the price was more like it was my fault that they served the wrong thing. The toilets are a disgrace, every now and then someone should make sure there isn't a lot of toilet paper lying around everywhere. The faucet only works when you hold your hand on it, the hand dryer doesn't work at all and there are no paper towels to dry with anywhere. Apart from that, it has been very loud since the renovation. I could have put up with each of them individually, but all of them together are unacceptable to me.

Had the vegan dishes and they do have many vegetarian options thankfully, schnitzel wasn’t too flavourful but the sauce made up for it and the chips etc was average, cinnamon apple drinks were good. Felt it was overpriced ( 520 euros for 2 ppl) , no vegan deserts so it was a vegan schnitzel, vegan burger and the two drinks alcohol free. Great atmosphere though

Great restaurant, had a very friendly and really helpful staff! It wasn't a problem when we realized too late that there was an ingredient in the dessert that a child was allergic to - we immediately got something else. It was a very nice dinner with the family and we would love to come back! The individual sections in the room layout were visually very successful, you immediately felt like you were on vacation! Really great!

No card payment possible because the device is supposedly defective. At least the gentleman in service was friendly. 5 adults and 1 child paid just under €170

Significantly diminished.... R.I.P. Alex... unfortunately the title sounds harsh, but it can no longer be dismissed. I describe 2 experiences on different days: Experience #1: 2-3 weeks ago. I sat outside with a colleague in sunny weather. After a long wait of 8 minutes, a waitress (lady) came. I ordered an Aperol for myself and a cappuccino for my colleague. Aperol came after about 4 minutes, and no trace of the cappuccino after another 6 minutes. I went in and asked, and the waitress insulted me and said they were understaffed. End of song: Cappu came at some point, paid soon and NO tip for the lousy service. Experience #2: First of all: The waitress (gentlemen) was really attentive and friendly. Now to the actual thing. I hadn't eaten nachos there in a while. I remembered that this was always a large plate with plenty of cheese, jalapeno and sauces. I was shocked when these came: dark tanned, without!!! gratinated cheese, so ZERO CHEESE and only 1/3 of the amount as before with 2 dollops of sauce on it... for 7.10 EUR... that wouldn't even be worth 3 EUR! In terms of taste: well... first cheek. My main course: Alsatian tarte flambée, always eaten there, 2nd disappointment: at least 1/4 smaller than before for the same price... shocked again. Savings are all well and good, but not at the expense of customers. I'd rather pay a few euros more and you'll be full and it tastes good. I was there with my wife, her food was good, but: the waitress forgot it. The food arrived 10 minutes late, by which time I had already finished eating. When my wife and I left the restaurant, we looked at each other and said almost at the same time that they wouldn't see us anymore. It's a shame, it was actually always good and we live on Rotkreuzplatz. Thank God there are alternatives in the area. Alex definitely not anymore. R.I.P.

Ordered fries (Alex Fries Deluxe Style). Smallest portion of fries, carelessly served with spring onion sticks and chilli. Neither crisp nor good. Drinks are good, but way too expensive.

What has impressed me over the years is the professionalism of the very diverse staff.👍🏽 Additionally, those who have known me for a long time are very friendly. Until today, around 6:15 p.m. Alleged shift manager (bald, possibly full beard). When I wanted to order, he snapped at me stupidly: “Whatever I thought of calling him here, I should leave his restaurant immediately.” Well, first of all I was so shocked and secondly it was so embarrassing because the occupied neighboring tables also noticed it. I felt like a homeless criminal who had been bilking for years! I or other customers can't help it if, for example, the waitress's ex-partner happens to be sitting at the next table. I have never experienced such anti-social unprofessionalism even in the McDonald's fast food restaurant chain. Tip: It's better to spend money elsewhere! After all, you don't just pay for the food! Such employees are intended for mini-jobs without responsibility, but definitely not for the catering industry with customer contact

A very nice shop. The food was always very good and the waiters were extremely friendly. I think the atmosphere there is very good and you can eat well there or just go for a drink. It's best to reserve in advance. The new design is no longer as quaint as before but still very good. However, I find the prices for normal juice spritzers over 5 euros to be too expensive, even if they taste very good.

It was my first time on site since the remodeling and I was really impressed by the new ambience. You can no longer hear the kitchen noises, which used to be quite annoying. Overall, the acoustics have improved. People may have different opinions about the Strelicia wallpaper, but there is definitely something homey about it. I like it.
