My visit to. Alex was spontaneous. Despite the full house during the evening service, we quickly got a seat. Drinks and food service were received quickly and served quickly. Excellent in taste. Clear recommendation!

Lots of choice of food and drinks. Service is very friendly. The background noise is very busy but not unpleasant.

We always enjoy being here! The food is tasty and the service is always at its best. In our opinion, people work here who love their job and do what is possible with full commitment.  Sometimes there's just something wrong with it and things don't go as planned (who doesn't know that?). Unfortunately there is a new slimmed down menu. I was looking for my beloved, delicious food for free.

The two of us spontaneously went to Sunday brunch without a reservation. The employee at the entrance was friendly and was able to find us an adequate table. Despite the high crowds on Sunday morning, the staff was very attentive and friendly. The buffet was rich and the quality of the food was, in my opinion, good and plentiful. All in all, the Sunday brunch is recommended.

I went to have a burger with a friend today. Everything tasted super delicious. The seating outside is totally comfortable and you can stay for a long time even in cool temperatures. Our waiter, I think his name was Johann, was super friendly and rounded off your visit perfectly. We would love to come back!

Good selection at the buffet (cold and warm). Fresh fruit, muesli, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, fresh croissants, in short: something for everyone! Family friendly atmosphere. The service had its eyes everywhere. Introduced himself with his first name (Dirk). Very personable and accommodating. I will definitely make a reservation again and try the cocktails.

The food was very good on the second attempt. It was cold on the first try. But it was replaced without any problems. The service was good, friendly and attentive. We just had to wait a bit to pay. The atmosphere is cozy but a bit cool. Some warmer clothing is recommended. Overall it was a pleasant evening, we will come back.

Centrally located. A wonderful breakfast buffet and the service was also great. The large windows allow you to enjoy what's around you, but even when you're talking to each other, we didn't think we were presented too obviously. I think it's important to mention that dogs are allowed! 🐶 Here too, the service looked for an alternative place so that you don't have to sit in the middle with your dog.

Probably the place for work-shy people in labor

The two of us went to ALEX for lunch today and everything was just perfect. We both ordered the ALEX Pastrami sandwich with steak fries and red cole slaw, the quality of the pastrami was very good, the combination with fried egg, pickled cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and the various sauces was perfect, the fries were crispy and very well seasoned, the cole slaw is absolutely delicious. We think the price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable. The service was very friendly, warm and attentive in all areas. Thanks for the nice time. :)

The brunch buffet offers a wide selection, from jam to lunch, there is something for every taste and is also very tasty. Service friendly and quick. I can only recommend it.

This restaurant, which is located in the middle of the city of Kassel, is highly recommended 👌 I spontaneously went there for dinner with my daughter in the middle of the week in the evening! Food (international offer) came quickly 👍 and the service was top;-) the prices were okay too!

Food and drinks were very good! However, the service could be more courteous and faster.

We went to Alex for breakfast for the second time. The buffet buffet was everything you could expect for this price and even a little more. I do have one small point of criticism, however. If you get rolls/bread and put them on your plate, you have to get a second one for the side dishes and possibly a third to top them with. Wouldn't it be possible to put a bread basket at the buffet that you can take to the table? Otherwise we were very satisfied guests again today :-)

The hotspot in Kassel is bad. Delicious coffee in a cozy atmosphere – perfect for a short break.

I can say that it was great, it was a comfortable environment, we were satisfied.

Drinks: Cocoa and white chocolate tasted good and were warm. Despite specifically ordering without cream, one of the two drinks was brought with cream. Ambiance: The furnishings look good, but little noise-damping aspects have been taken into account. At times the loud background noise is extremely disturbing and you notice that you have to communicate not only loudly and clearly, but almost shouting with the people at the same table. Service: After the order could be placed relatively quickly, we waited about 35 minutes for two warm drinks. When it was then noted that the cream on one drink had been expressly canceled, but that it was now OK, the response was relatively cheeky that only the other drink had been ordered without cream, which is simply wrong. Especially on Sundays, the Alex Kassel gives the impression that it is understaffed in service, which leads to extreme stress for the waiters. Some processes do not seem to be well coordinated, for example that only one waiter can apparently handle the payment process at a table and his colleague has to find the first one and inform them that a table wants to pay. Why can't every colleague simply process payment? Searching and getting information costs the waiters time, which only puts them under even more pressure. Drinking a drink on a leisurely Sunday is more possible in other corners of Kassel.

I went to ALEX today and was really impressed. The service, a tall young waiter, was on point, I was served promptly. After emptying the glass, he asked without seeming intrusive whether I was satisfied or whether I had any further wishes. I was satisfied and will come back on my next visit to Kassel. However, the outside area left an unpleasant impression, plastic packaging, cigarette butts, dirt under the tables (dirt trap) and what I rate as a "no-go" is when organized columns of beggars infest the outside area and the guests sometimes scrounge at families while eating and the service of the House can't get it under control. All in all good and I'll be back. Greeting.

Hello, we went shopping in Kassel on October 4th, 2024 and ended up at ALEX at some point, in a nutshell. Cleanliness was top👍🏽, service was top👍🏽, staff were friendly, nice, courteous, polite. . . top👍🏽, food top👍🏽location top 👍🏽overall package top👍🏽, we'll be happy to come back. Kind regards.

We went there due to a sudden hunger strike, we decided to enter Alex Kassel where we sat down and started to consult the very varied menu of the place, but when ordering at 1pm the boy told us that the kitchen was closed because it's breakfast time, stunned by the answer, we decide to take 3 crossaint with Nutella and 3 cappuccinos, after 20 minutes when the waiter arrives completely without any warning he serves us 3 croissants with jam. Croissant still half frozen and cappuccino with burnt milk. We were warned that the cocktails would take longer. All good then. However, the waiters were more busy admiring their muscles in the mirror than taking new orders. That's annoying.

Quality is okay but quite small quantities for hefty prices...

We sat outside for easily 30 minutes without being served. Finally, the unmotivated waiter came to our table and took our order. I had a few extra wishes about the food. His blunt answer was "I don't know if that will work. Otherwise you will get your food as it is on the menu" and walked away. The food came BEFORE the drinks. I've NEVER experienced anything like that. In the end I paid by card. The waiter was still at our table and was probably waiting for a tip. But for what? For this terrible service? Food was OK. But way too expensive.

After the renovation, really nice and comfortable. Service has improved dramatically. Food and drink quality is always convincing.

Delicious food and drinks. Nice service. In summer you can sit outside very well and have a beautiful view. Only recommended! I've visited it quite often.

Went there to drink cocktails. Standard cocktails were good. Prices are still reasonable, cheap if you catch the happy hours.

The breakfast is very good! There is something for everyone! The only point deduction is for the fruit salad, which tasted very artificial! The decoration is too busy! There are pretty things there, but too many and mixed up! But it's a matter of taste 😉

I was there with my girlfriend last night and at first we weren't served for 10-15 minutes. I even had to wave to a waiter to come to us first. And when the waiter took our order, he forgot to write down my friend's order, even though she had made herself clear. In any case, I won't come here anymore.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit to your café. The service was unfriendly, rude and arrogant. After waiting over half an hour for our drinks, we politely asked where they were. To our surprise, we were asked to leave the cafe by a waiter with glasses and long curly hair. Such behavior is completely inappropriate in the catering industry. We had the impression that this employee was not suitable for the service area.

Went there to have a beer for lunch, being Germany and all. I had a waiter yell at me in front of all the other customers. Paid my bill and left. Sad thing is o always bring family and friends over that visit me here in Kassel. Not anymore.

I like going to Alex, they have a nice atmosphere and nice treats.

We were very hungry and waited for food for almost an hour. When the food came, it was so oily you couldn't eat it. Teriyaki chicken was just soggy and didn't taste like anything. €20 per person and we left ¾ there... The pictures on the menu look much tastier than the food itself.

Totally unfriendly reception. It was raining and you were yelled at because you put a chair 5cm in the direction of the umbrella. Not recommended. There are much more pleasant and friendly bars in Kassel.

The food was ok except for the fact that the napkin was pressed into the dessert. Drinks arrived after 20 minutes, an iced tea was not served despite asking. Not highly recommended. Too bad.

Chicken teriyaki inedible, and no chicken to be found. Vegetables tasted bitter. Service was at least nice and quick.

Everything okay. Good location but ALEX prices and convenient food. Can be made for a drink.

The new chairs in the outdoor area are so unbelievably uncomfortable... when heavy people sit in them, the seat cushions deform deep down and you sit in them like a farmer. You really scored your own goal with that

If you couldn't give a star, I would. Last night we were treated so disrespectfully by the waiter. I drank a Coke Zero and a Jim Beam with my friend. When we wanted to pay another waiter (who hadn't taken our order) came and said a bill for 22.80. When I pointed out to him that we only had a Coke Zero and Jim Beam he immediately said "No, there's more on the table here, if you can't pay then don't come here." Are you crazy? I have never experienced such disrespect. The waiter who took our order then clarified the situation. A waiter like that has no place in the restaurant industry! Alex, never again!!!!!!! I also work in the catering industry, if you haven't picked up a table, you have to ask whether the drinks and food on the table are correct! This is what we call professional service staff, because it can always happen that you accidentally left a table unchecked! But as a colleague in the catering industry, I have absolutely no understanding for such sayings!!!

The service is friendly and quick. The food is delicious. We would like it if there were a few more vegetables with the schnitzel. The portions are plentiful. The toilets are OK. It would be nice if the window sills were cleaned of dust and cobwebs and there were towels in addition to the hand dryer.

Steak wasn't good at all and I got the wrong dish twice which didn't taste good either 😅 Service takes too long and then something like that... it was twice because now there were always errors in the orders...

The good service is definitely no longer there. It's a shame when the staff is so reduced that the customers have to suffer 30 minutes until my order was taken (3 drinks) and then waited another 35 minutes for it. Many guests simply got up and left and asked 3-4 times if they could pay and no one came for 45 minutes

I really enjoy going to Café Alex to have a cocktail or a coffee, but I'm slowly but surely finding the prices no longer affordable. I understand that everything has become more expensive and you also have to pay salaries and ongoing costs somewhere... However, I don't understand why they charge €6.10 for a dish that costs around 40 cents in material costs (excluding working time)... I find it very cheeky... In any case, the bruschetta will no longer be there in the future... However, coffee and lemonades or cocktails are great and the burgers are also highly recommended.

We had breakfast there today with the entire family, the waiters outside were constantly annoyed and unfriendly. The breakfast was delicious, but service staff outside 👎. To top it off, we were charged extra because we hadn't ordered it at all & when we asked about it, the answer was again annoyed as described above & we would have ordered it that way. We left it like that and left.

After some New Year's Eve celebrations in Kassel and many happy visits to Kassel, Hamburg, Dresden and others, we will say goodbye to ALEX Kassel baw! The service is not coordinated, as only 1 person takes orders and several people deliver the orders for a table very slowly. For example, my Altbier came to the table warm after two stays on other tables and touched by other guests; disgusting - an absolute no go! Where is the problem with entering or reading the table number on the receipt when the order is delivered? This was often the case - the cappuccino and our food also made several rounds until they reached our table! The price-performance ratio has also decreased significantly! Charging €7.40 for a measly portion of sweet potato fries with mayo borders on outrageous! We can no longer recommend ALEX since the renovation! Sorry, there is still a lot of room for improvement.......

Waited forever at the beginning, no waiter wanted to take an order. On the tables outside there were quite a few empty glasses from other guests who had long since left. It had also rained and the tables were covered in water. But nobody was interested in that either. They haven't been cleaned off. I had to speak to three waiters before anyone even took an order. The beer wasn't served, I had to remind the waiter. Then a lukewarm wheat beer was placed on the table for 5.20 euros. When I wanted to pay, I spoke to a waiter again. But he wasn't interested in that, he just cleaned up the tables. This was by far the worst restaurant I have ever visited. Never again!

Alex in Kassel is really good this year!! I've had dinner on the beautiful terrace twice in the last few weeks. I tried ribeye steak and schnitzel with fried potatoes. I didn't have to wait long for the food and it was all very tasty and plentiful. The service was always very attentive and extremely friendly! The young man always had an overview of his rather large station. The prices are reasonable. By the way, but not unimportantly, I would also like to mention that the terrace tables can be accessed and accessed by a wheelchair.

Unfortunately disappointing for such a well-respected and long-established restaurant in Kassel. The food is average at best, the drinks are often heavily diluted (the house iced teas practically only taste like water). Added to this are the outrageously high prices that simply do not match the mediocre quality of the offering. Thanks to the waterless urinals, the men's toilet smelled awfully of fermenting excrement. You have to press the tap to get water for a few seconds. The food was ok, the service was nice and everything came quickly. Unfortunately a glass and a fork were dirty. When saving water, please don’t forget about hygiene.

We were at the Alex Kassel during the break. It was just expensive. It used to be better.

Wir waren zu fünft in Kassel und wollten im Alex etwas trinken. Leider hat uns der Kellner mitgeteilt, dass unser Tisch für fünf Personen zu klein sei und uns nicht bedienen wollte, da er sonst Ärger bekommen würde. Das war sehr enttäuschend, besonders da wir extra aus der Schweiz angereist waren, um Kassel zu besuchen. Eine flexiblere Handhabung wäre wünschenswert gewesen.

Great entertaining place to stay Unfortunately there is no internet service!

New atmosphere, still poor service. An employee was unable to place an order for a Coca-Cola due to a “missing device”. Nevertheless, after two minutes he brought a drink, which was actually for another guest. His colleague noticed this a short time later, he actually wanted to serve the drunken cola to the other guest and made incredible accusations against us. We're never coming back!

Let's start with the positive. The ambience after the renovation is great and invites you to linger. After we sat down from outside to inside, our waiters also changed from the inattentive and non-guest-oriented Sarah to a warm, friendly and, above all, guest-oriented Dirk - reminiscent of the nice innkeeper next door. Gladly with him again. There is also a complaint about the fact that there is a serving with a glass of martini but not with the meal. Prices reasonable for the quality. The kitchen crew honestly likes to have something up their sleeves again.

The service probably took too much time and was too slow.
