Super friendly service. Kasra was not only very polite and friendly, he also patiently explained the drink selection to the neighboring table. Unfortunately, the food today wasn't perfect. It arrived lukewarm and was soggy.

I've been waiting for my drink for over an hour, even though the place wasn't even full. Guests who arrived after me were served first and received their orders much faster. The service is completely disorganized, and you just feel ignored. Very disappointing – this shouldn't happen in the restaurant industry.

Very good service, thanks to @Kasra! Very polite and always there when needed 👍🏻 The food could be a bit healthier: Not just sugary cereal, real fruit instead of canned, etc. - otherwise OK. However, charging children 10 years and older the full price of €20.90 is quite excessive.

So, where should I begin? The service was quite nice, but it was also just fake, because of the tip. My iced coffee arrived spilled with the comment that I should be happy because it would have more in it... thanks for nothing. Two pieces of cake and a mocktail didn't arrive until a full 30 minutes later... the iced coffee was almost finished. The servers take their time and enjoy chatting with friends who are visiting them for work. The restaurant is really very nice and the quality is very good, but unfortunately, it was my first and last time!

Alex has been our number one café so far—a real highlight of our daily life. I was all the more shocked when I learned that the fried eggs come from caged hens, and the origin of the scrambled eggs is unknown. I really wouldn't have expected that in such a popular café. Transparency and eggs from sustainable, animal-friendly farming are important to me. I really hope that something will change in this regard in the future.

Arriving in Kassel, our first impression was a bit of a flop. It smelled and wasn't as nice as we'd imagined it would be on our stroll. The ALEX, on the other hand, was the best choice we made. It had a super nice and unique atmosphere. It was very crowded, but we didn't have to wait long for a table or our food. The drink prices are super fair, and the food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. If we ever go to Kassel again, we'll definitely go there again.

We had some cakes, they were really good. The ice tea is good too, especially on hot days. Nice view over the park, quiet atmosphere.

We waited forever. Cocktails tasted like water and syrup... Tables were cleared after a very long time. Jägermeister was warm :D (Alex's instructions) !!!!! After sitting for 10 minutes, we were served. Besides, the staff noticed that we were smokers, and an ashtray wasn't part of the service. Cigarettes had to be thrown on the floor... They didn't deserve a tip.

You can tell that the place, thanks to its location, can do whatever it wants. Waiters take forever, the service is very poor. The cleanliness of the empty tables is appalling! A side note: Jägermeister room temperature, the statement "ALEX guidelines" 😄 Cocktails are filled with syrup so you can't taste the low alcohol content.

Great service and good food. However, the portion was too large for me. That could have been due to the heat, though.

They say one stick weighs 300 grams, but they gave me one that doesn't even weigh 150 grams. I complained, and they told me it lost weight after cooking. Terrible.

We got off the tram and sat down by chance. Attentive service. We ate classic tarte flambée and a cheeseburger with extra bacon. The tarte flambée was extremely good – great toppings and very crispy. The cheeseburger was also very good. Highly recommended – even though I haven't paid the bill yet. 😁

The food is really good and the location is great. The place is always busy, which shows that it's very popular and apparently does good business. However, the service is unfortunately very poor. There are too few staff in every area. It takes forever for a server to arrive, for the order to be taken, for the food or drinks to arrive, or finally for the bill to arrive. Even for a small order, like a coffee, you can easily wait half an hour here. This is especially frustrating if you're short on time. It's a shame, because with more staff, the experience here could be just as good as the food.

Actually a good café, but too crowded. It's very loud and hard to get a seat. We tried to eat there three times, and we only got a table the first time. We waited 20 minutes. The food was still delicious. Okay, you can do it. So, I have to edit this review again after three months, and now we always get a table. Highly recommended :-)

All well and good, but the new outdoor chairs are really uncomfortable. Bad choice! I also keep wondering why a drink order is served separately without food.

Very poor service. Waiters walk like zombies. One is for coffee, another for juice, a third for a meal, and a fourth for an ashtray. And all this while you wait almost half an hour for service in a half-empty building. Embarrassing for a city-center establishment.

The service is getting worse and worse. It really wasn't that busy, but the waiters were visibly overwhelmed or even incompetent. We had to call someone over several times before we could order. Almost €9 for a 0.2l Aperol... Then we poured one of the cocktails into one of the small water glasses... because we wanted to know which one had more of it: crushed ice or soda... the result was appalling 🙈 We're definitely looking for a new location for our group evenings 🫣

I've been there twice for breakfast; there's a huge selection, and everything tastes delicious. The staff is friendly and polite. You feel at home. What I personally like is that you can come for breakfast until 2 p.m. Perfect, especially on weekends when you don't want to stress.

We sat right by the outside entrance and were completely ignored by two waitresses. A table near us, who seemed to know each other, was repeatedly asked by both waitresses if everything was okay. Never again at Alex in Kassel!!!

Let's be honest? There are incredibly nice and competent employees in this store, but on the other hand, there are also incredibly incompetent employees. However, both parties are treated equally, which seems to limit the motivation and performance of the better employees. I think this store has a lot of potential, but to do so, they would have to lay off some of the people who are holding this business back. Also, and perhaps most importantly, they should look for new management, as the current one seems very overwhelmed.

I spent 4 days in Kassel and every single day I visited this restaurant. At first glance, its central location immediately drew me in. It's beautiful both outside and inside, with plenty of waiters who are very friendly and quick to show you a free table and the best available spot at the time. Despite being very busy, everything is extremely well-organized and tidy. I tried the amazing pink latte, and saying I was impressed would be an understatement. The coffee was also great, especially paired with an excellent French breakfast and a waffle dessert. All compliments and greetings from Montenegro!

A very nice ambiance, but with very poor or overwhelmed service. We sat outside for over 30 minutes, and the waiters just stared at us without speaking. Only after calling twice to take our orders were we informed that this part of the terrace was closed (after waiting there for 30 minutes). We changed tables, and the food was delicious, but we waited another 40 minutes for the bill. After asking three times, we wanted to just leave, but then the bill finally arrived.

There's a new employee who's racist. He only cleans the tables of Germans, but when he sees a foreigner, he ignores them. That's bad behavior.

Mr. Kasra was very friendly and served us with great care. We felt very comfortable.

I went to brunch with my partner on a Sunday. We received a really warm welcome. In my opinion, the Alex in Kassel is really well organized; the waiters had everything under control at all times, and the buffet was very extensive with a wide selection. There really is something for everyone. Our server was Mr. Kasra Samimija, who did a really good job; everything was to our complete satisfaction. We would be happy to visit the Alex in Kassel again for brunch. Thanks to the well-coordinated team.

The food was okay. I was disappointed with the drink, though. In the picture (where there's no food, just the shake), the glass hadn't been drunk yet. €8.20 for the Lillet, which tasted a bit sour. I was a bit disappointed with the first one that there was so little (after looking at the pictures Alex included), but I thought it was just an oversight. Such a small sip for the price is incomprehensible to me. Unfortunately, no one else was waiting the entire time, so we couldn't order anything else. Only when we got up to order were we noticed. It wasn't busy; we were there right after it opened. The restrooms were clean, so I can't complain about that. Personally, I would go to another restaurant, though, as the value for money just wasn't right for me.

We actually wanted to order an Aperol because of the nice weather, but we had to wait 15 minutes before a waiter saw us. We said we wanted to order. He said he'd be right there. After an incredible 20 minutes and many ✋ in the air, there was still no response. At minute 45, and after I asked if they wanted to ignore us, the waiter said they were closing the outdoor area (5:39 p.m.). After I got upset, I was told we didn't need to come back if we didn't like it; there are enough cafés in Kassel. Wow, such crappy service and unprofessionalism. If the tourists didn't keep the place running, it would have closed long ago. My tip: walk 40 meters further, there are other nice cafés with good staff.

Dimitrios is a boss, great service, super friendly and the food was nice too

I always enjoy coming to Alex Kassel. The atmosphere is great, the service is always friendly and attentive, and everything is wheelchair accessible, but I definitely have to review last night's dinner again. It was so incredibly delicious! I had the best rib-eye steak with the best grilled vegetables and the best fried potatoes ever! Many thanks to the entire Alex team for this treat and the beautiful summer evening. Alex in Kassel is really good this year!! I've been to the beautiful terrace for dinner twice in the last few weeks. I tried the ribeye steak and schnitzel with fried potatoes. I didn't have to wait long for the food, and it was all delicious and plentiful. The service was always very attentive and extremely friendly! The young man always had an overview of his rather large station. The prices are reasonable. By the way, but not unimportant, I would also like to mention that the terrace tables are wheelchair accessible.

Very good location, with beautiful views in almost every direction. You can sit inside or outside. The food is equally good and the price is reasonable.

The "Alex" is a place I enjoy spending time at. Today I ate something for the first time. The salmon on potato wedges (found under the snacks) was excellent! The only downside: the lamb's lettuce should have been briefly tossed in vinegar/oil/onions before serving. The little bit of "cream" on top of the salad isn't enough. It's too dry! Very friendly staff!

I was recently at ALEX Kassel and was served by Dimitrios – absolutely top-notch! Super friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. You can immediately tell he's passionate about his job. We waited 40 minutes, waved to the waiter twice, and he just brushed us off and moved us. We couldn't even order anything; he got up and left. He was also very unfriendly.

Yes. You can express your wishes, and they'll make them happen. Friendly staff. Since we didn't want to eat a buffet, they suggested a roll with sausage and cheese. Great. I've been there more often now.

The burger was a disaster. A pre-made patty, tasteless, dry, and of no quality. It looked like it was just thrown together from the supermarket. The sweet potato fries came in a mini portion and were cold. Not lukewarm, really cold. A joke for the money. The karaage bowl was abysmal. Tough chicken, barely seasoned, everything seemed bland and cheap. The rice was lumpy, the vegetables were mushy. None of it justifies the price or the hype. I wouldn't recommend it.

I ordered fish and sweet potato chips and the description on the menu clearly says fried fish fillets and I got 5 small chicken nuggets, similar to breaded fish things...that's not okay....I tried several times to explain that I ordered a fried fish fillet and they accepted it!!!!!

It's become an institution. Friendly service, good breakfast buffet. The orange juice doesn't quite live up to the quality standards.

The vegan food was delicious! A very tasty salad and falafel bowl. The carrot chips, however, were really strange and not for us. The service could have been faster, but it was also really busy. All in all, a very nice experience. We'd love to go back!

At Alex, we were greeted warmly by a super attentive employee who clearly puts a lot of heart and soul into his work. We were repeatedly asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We were also informed about an additional offer. A truly great snack that turned into a very long lunch/afternoon meal. Always worth a visit – even with children.

The service is good. In our opinion, the price/performance ratio isn't so good. We started with €9.90 years ago and are now at over €15, and the offerings haven't changed much.

Yesterday I was at Alex with three people and a small child. Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly and they yelled at us because we sat down at a table that hadn't been cleared. We politely asked the service if they could clear the table and maybe wipe it down with a cloth. The service employee then made a very unfriendly comment: "It's your own fault if you sit at the dirty table, but at that time there was no other table free where you could sit with a stroller." Unfortunately, we were treated very unfriendly by the staff and I repeatedly told the service that we wanted to order, but unfortunately we were repeatedly ignored. We sat there for half an hour and weren't even served once, but rather ignored by the service, and the table still hadn't been cleared or cleaned. So after 35 minutes we simply left and went to another restaurant because they treated us very unfriendly. I was actually always happy with Alex and was a frequent customer, but after what happened there, I won't be coming often anymore.

Unfortunately, our visit today didn't blow me away. The description on the menu sounded very good, but what I ended up with was mediocre and quite expensive. I actually wouldn't go back.

We passed by Alex in the evening and wanted another coffee. When we asked, we were told the tables at the front were still being served. A waiter took our order promptly – so far, everything was great. We chatted and time passed. The man at the next table, who had arrived after us, got his beer. We continued to wait. At some point, we realized that at least 20 minutes had passed since our order (two coffees). We tried unsuccessfully for a few minutes to make eye contact with the young waiter. However, he was completely busy and under a lot of stress, and it was obvious... At some point, I'd had enough and went inside. I grabbed one of the five older men standing around and asked for our coffee. He went to the counter and checked what was there – among various other cups, ours were there. He acted as if they had just finished. When I said I'd like to take them with me right away, the older man smiled condescendingly at the younger woman and said he'd bring them... Sure enough, a few minutes later, it was a young woman who brought out the cups. My friend's large latte was fine, but my Baileys latte was almost colder than my hands—and that's saying something, considering the time and the wait! The waitress rolled her eyes knowingly, said she was used to it and that she'd bring it back inside and bring me a fresh one. I reluctantly agreed—I'm not really a fan of waste. And I was also slightly worried about having to wait another half hour... But the woman was actually great and came back within two minutes with a hot drink that felt like it had an extra shot of Baileys in it... :D If the waitress had taken the money at the end, we definitely would have tipped her. But given the wait and the treatment from the aforementioned older man inside, that wasn't an option for us. Conclusion: Great coffee, the menu looks great too, but you either have to be on your toes or sit in the middle so the overworked young waiter doesn't lose sight of you. Or get lucky and meet the waitress. :D
