Breakfast buffet inconveniently located on the top floor. Nothing extraordinary. But okay. Sitting downstairs far too crowded at tables that were too small to eat. Service at the entrance was super nice, even though it was full we weren't turned away and were able to wait briefly for a table. Service at the table could have been better.

Very nice location directly on the Elbe. The service was extremely friendly. Despite a high volume of customers, we received quick and very friendly service. I would like to highlight the healthy menus for children. Of course there are also the classics, but I think the alternative is great!

The Alex restaurant on the Überseebrücke scores with a great location right on the harbor, but unfortunately the food didn't entirely convince me. Value for money was okay and the dishes were okay, but I would have expected more fish dishes from a restaurant in this location. It's fine for a spontaneous visit, but if you're looking forward to a special culinary experience with harbor flair, you might be a little disappointed here.

We love going here for breakfast or brunch, the food is always consistently good and the staff is very friendly ;) The location is very nice and you can then go for a walk towards the Elbstrand, Landungsbrücken or towards Speicherstadt to Elfie. You should reserve well in advance to ensure you get a spot!

We had a tea and a coffee which was delivered quickly. The service was very good and the view was unfortunately a bit poor due to the fog.

We had made a reservation there for New Year's Eve because it is one of very few locations where you don't have to fork out €150 per person for a buffet, drinks and music. We just wanted to have a relaxing evening. The line in front of the door was long, but luckily we had reservations so we could get in straight away. Our table on the 1st floor was in the second row to the window and we had a great view of the fireworks that had been going on all evening from the many people outside. That couldn't be topped! It was full, but there were enough cheerful service staff there who were on their toes. The orders were taken quickly and everything came to the table without a long wait. When we ordered a bottle of white wine, which came without a cooler because everyone seemed to be at work at the time, I pointed out to our waiter that he could use the cooler in which the straws were placed at the bar. I could see this from where I was sitting. And what can I say: it was implemented immediately, we got our cooler and our waiter a nice tip. We felt very comfortable with you. The food and drinks were great and all wishes were fulfilled. Even the champagne was on the table just before midnight despite the time crunch. Thanks for the effort. I hope the praise is passed on. We'd love to come back!

The cocktails there at Alex were amazing. We didn't eat anything at 11 p.m. at night

Food was good, the waiter charged my card twice and now everyone is trying to avoid responsibility because of 40 EUR, email, contacting me twice on site has not helped. Long live the service desert Germany, what a shame...

The view is great. The food is also good. We had Rhabarberschorle and it was awful. The sparkling water was quite old one and there was not enough Rhabarber concentrate in it.

It is always popular in both summer and winter and it is very difficult to find a place. If you want to eat something with an incredible view of Hamburg Hafencity, we highly recommend it :) there may be some delays in service times. enjoy your meal.

We are disappointed with the food and the ambience. We were asked to go to the upper floor, and when we got there we were met with the noise and hustle and bustle of the train station. As he walked past, the waiter took the order, which then stood there with other orders for a long time and got cold! The salmon bowl was gluten-free, but just soggy like porridge, the burger was very cold and dry. I've never had such a bad Aperol!! You searched for spritz in vain, hence the bland, stale taste! Too bad. We won't be coming back! There are stars for the great view of the Elbe.

The waiter didn't feel like working at all. That was definitely the impression he gave. The coffee was ok but unfortunately not hot enough. I don't know, but as a good and attentive waiter you clear away empty glasses/cups or empty plates, he didn't do this, the ambience was nice but it was quite drafty and so it wasn't exactly warm inside.

Very nice, hard-working, young and attentive team. Nice owner family. Great food made with love. Interior design and atmosphere were great - in the evening you could see the lights of the ships at the harbor and the Elbphilharmonie. Big praise!

The male waiter was unfriendly and served us almost mockingly. While everyone at the table got their cakes, I had to wait over 10 minutes longer until my cake finally arrived. The service was really bad but the ambience and food and drinks were very good.

I had a wonderful afternoon at Restaurant Alex! The atmosphere is simply great and invites you to linger. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. The food and beer were really tasty and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Alex!

I won’t recommend for people who have gluten intolerance or Zöliakie and in general the workers aren’t friendly and aren’t helpful at all! Only the place is nice. I won’t come here anymore

The two of us were at ALEX on Sunday evening and had a hearty meal. We originally wanted to sit in the upper area, but decided to sit in the lower area because of our stroller - and in hindsight, that was the best decision! The waitress who was in charge of the downstairs area really made our evening special. We were immediately impressed by her natural friendliness, her presence and the palpable joy in her work. We have rarely experienced such great service. She was attentive, warm and made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the cleanliness of the toilets left nothing to be desired. But the real reason we enjoyed the evening so much was definitely the amazing waitress. Thank you for this wonderful service – we’ll be happy to come back!

One of the best place in Hamburg. Great food, professional and polite service. The quality is confirmed by queues to enter on weekends. Fortunately, you can experience delicious flavors and beautiful views during the week without queuing. I recommend!

Unfortunately service wasn't that good. The service was stressful and never had time. Food was good but a bit expensive in terms of price/performance.

The Alex at the Landungsbrücken has a very nice location and a cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, it took a long time to prepare the food. An employee told us in between that the food would come after 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately, after 20 minutes we still couldn't eat. When we wanted to cancel the meal because we had to leave (otherwise the ship would leave without us!) it was brought all at once. Unfortunately we had to leave the restaurant without eating. We only ordered a burger and fries, so you wouldn't expect it to take over an hour to prepare!? More honest communication with guests would be desirable.

We were thrilled by the reviews… However, we were disappointed. We were warmly welcomed downstairs and sent up to the tables. That's where it started. We were rudely informed by a waiter who walked past that the table was for 4 people. (The table was previously assigned) - there were three of us. Then when we took the order the waiter was busy with everything other than listening to us. We already noticed that some people were complaining about the waiting time and the cold food (which sometimes waited up to 15 minutes on the counter) to be “delivered”. So we decided on a bowl. 2 of 4 bowls were already sold out (Sundays at 3 p.m.). The taste was ok. But we won't go there again. Too bad. Beautiful location with poor and overwhelmed service. (Except the lady at reception!)

Very bright and central restaurant/café/bar at the harbor. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Food 10/10 everything from warm to sweet is very tasty and the eye definitely eats here too! Drinks were delicious and the value for money was really good.

We were in Hamburg over the weekend and ate at ALEX 3 times. The food was really good and tasty. The drinks were also exceptionally tasty. There was nothing to complain about. Service polite, friendly and accommodating. Phenomenal ambience and direct view of the harbor.

The view is great, the service was top. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. The punch is expensive and little. The baked potato wasn't cooked through and the salad was limp. Nevertheless, we would give Alex another chance because the service was really good.

So, our enthusiasm was very limited. Everything was prepared quickly and hastily, practically quick work with even faster processing. The raspberry lemonade was pure chemistry, the baguettes were bland and stale in taste... Especially the chicken! And the lasagna had a hint of salmon and nothing more. Value for money? Far from it - overpriced! There were four of us and we definitely paid too much for all of this. Elbe view or not, but we definitely won't come again.

The concept completely worked. In the harbor it is sometimes difficult to find a restaurant where everything is really right. And that is definitely the case in Alex. Despite the large number of people, you can always get a table due to the high fluctuation. Food and drinks always top. Service was impeccable, especially the service specialist Hanna, who served us in a friendly and competent manner (despite the high number of guests). The ambience and atmosphere is simply great. Price-performance ratio top. Always my pleasure.

Hmm... Food was delicious, but the pricing was really difficult > Food wasn't cheap, I found the drink prices to be outrageous (€4.10 for a small, still water). In addition, the service was very hectic, making it inattentive and easily forgetful. And that even though it was far from full. Overall, just so-so. But you can probably afford it due to the prevailing walk-in customers... :(

The ALEX particularly scores points for its fantastic location right on the water, which offers a wonderful view and invites you to linger, especially in sunny weather. Many guests appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to watch the hustle and bustle at the harbor - a real plus point that is highlighted in many reviews. However, the quality of the food was a mixed experience. The majority of the food, around 95%, seems to consist of ready-made products - like the scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet. The fruit is also pre-portioned, which might not please everyone. Another point of criticism is that drinks such as coffee or cappuccino have to be paid extra, while only orange juice from the tetra pack is included. Apparently people pay very close attention to not consuming more than one orange juice. This puts what appears to be a cheap offer at first glance into perspective. Overall, ALEX is a nice place for a coffee or drink overlooking the harbor, but there is clear room for improvement when it comes to the quality and value for money of the food. The staff is attentive and friendly.

The staff was great, the food was great, the shop overall was a bit untidy and not entirely clean.

We booked a birthday brunch. The orange juice was warm, Cola dead (non-carbonated), tomato mozzarella without basil and without balsamic vinegar. Hmm I expected a little better for the price.

Particularly beautifully located with a breathtaking view, Alex impresses with good food and extremely friendly and personable staff. Definitely try it out. Everything from the food to the drink creations is recommended.

Wow what a dinner. We have been to you many times but this was the first time that we received such friendly and competent service. We went in feeling good and left with a big grin and, of course, full. Hanna Feld you are an asset to the restaurant. You made our evening special. It's only because of you that we'll be back on Sunday evening. We have canceled our table for Sunday somewhere else and of course prefer to come and eat with you. It was simply unbelievable, we are still thrilled and even took the boss aside (I think it was him) If we receive such great service then we should show it and say something. Everything is great - for pedestrians. Unfortunately, it was not possible for a wheelchair user to take part in a planned event on the 1st floor because the elevator is broken. Therefore 1 point deducted for the ambience and service.

Drinks and snacks were good, the service was very good, I have rarely had such nice and attentive staff at ALEX.
