The staff was very friendly, however it was too loud there.

We went to Alex for breakfast brunch today! There were no fried eggs all morning, even though we asked about them and it was advertised as being available. The salmon ran out quickly and wasn't replenished, even though we asked for it! Bottom line: Don't go there again, there are much better options!!

Our visit didn't deserve a single star. Cream – empty, Baileys – empty, toilet tokens – empty. And instead of offering an alternative, they simply said the tokens had been out for several days and we'd have to pay 50 cents per person. Furthermore, we've already been waiting for our drinks for over 20 minutes. We know ALEX to be a different experience, and under these circumstances, I can only advise everyone against visiting this branch.

My girlfriend and I ate here for the first time, and Rohan is the reason it won't be the last. I've never experienced such a friendly and warm service in my life. The food was also excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

The staff was definitely understaffed during the evening rush. The waiters are always trying their best, but they're simply understaffed by management. They do their best to serve the guests. However, we were there during the evening rush, and even though the restaurant was only 50% full, we had to wait 30 minutes to place our order and then another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The waiters don't take any breaks, but they're clearly understaffed, and this affects the quality of service. The food is rather average, and you're mainly paying for the location. It's clear that the positive reviews are most likely referring to the breakfast buffet. But I wouldn't recommend going there during the regular daytime rush.

This centrally located restaurant on Zeil offers something for everyone – whether you're looking for fast food, vegetarian/vegan options, or something more upscale. The friendly staff welcomed us to the stylish and elegantly furnished restaurant. We ordered a lemonade, an apple spritzer, and the vegan schnitzel with mushrooms. I've never eaten a dish that so closely resembles an animal product – incredibly delicious, extremely quick to prepare, and served with super tasty and crispy fries and a side salad! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone… especially groups who want to try different dishes! It's extremely well-suited for vegans and vegetarians! Best regards!

Food was good, one price for anything you take for the breakfast.

I went here for dinner today with a friend, having high expectations based on several recommendations from acquaintances, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. It's a nice location with friendly staff. We both ordered the Caesar wrap. The fries were great, but the lettuce in the wrap was brown and mushy, and the other ingredients seemed old, both in appearance and taste. We voiced our concerns but only received a shrug and an offer of a coffee as compensation. Very disappointing from our perspective; we didn't get a refund, but we expected a bit more understanding that the main part of our meal was inedible.

We went there on Monday morning for the breakfast buffet and weren't disappointed. Excellent value for money (€15.40 per person), a very varied and fresh selection of both savory and sweet dishes. Pancakes, egg dishes prepared four ways, and much more. Salmon would have been a nice addition, but I suspect it's only available at the (slightly more expensive) Sunday brunch. The service was very friendly.

We often go to Alex, but only for cake and coffee, because the food isn't really impressive. Unfortunately, we couldn't even do that yesterday. We waited outside until we were shown to a table. There was a group of five ahead of us, also waiting. People kept coming and going, and the place became increasingly empty. Some tables remained empty for over 15 minutes. After waiting a long time, we went inside ourselves and asked the staff. We were told, "We're completely booked and have no space." When we pointed to the empty tables, they said, "We have to wipe the tables down before anyone can sit down." We thought this would happen quickly, but we had to wait another 10 minutes. After going back inside and asking again (because even more tables had become available), we received the same answer. Conclusion: We waited 20-30 minutes, then went to another café because the staff is so overwhelmed as soon as it gets busy. 2 stars because the cakes are good.

Alex is highly recommended. Service and food are very good. I found the noise level a bit too high. Otherwise 👍👍👍

I had a decent experience at ALEX in Frankfurt, but nothing that really stood out. I ordered the German sausage with fries; the portion was fine and the taste was okay, but not particularly memorable, especially for the price. The drink, however, was lovely (I had a cranberry-style juice and really enjoyed it). Overall, it was alright for a quick meal, but I’m not sure I’d return. Next time I’m in Frankfurt, I’d probably like to try somewhere different.

First meal: Proms were fried twice. Second meal: First the wrong order, then not according to the menu. Dessert was completely forgotten. Service was also poor. Used rum glasses were everywhere. It was also very dirty. Never again at Alex!

Never again. The schnitzel was tasteless. The service was unenthusiastic.

Dinner time during a not so busy weekday. Great stop after a busy shopping time to recharge in a bistro/brasserie like setting. Neither a quiet and cozy restaurant atmosphere nor a busy food courts. Just the right mixture of still getting the open atmosphere of the Zeil shopping mall with its arty glass roof and an intimidate table seating. There were plenty of seating choices and the friendly staff welcomed us promptly. We went for the Chicken Teriyaki and the weekday’s special of cocktail (alcohol free choices also available) and crunches. Although we waited some moments to place our order, the drinks and the food arrived rather quickly and were served with a smile. The amount and also the quality of the food was great. However for my taste there was a little bit too much dressing/sauce as well as too many sweet potato fries in comparison to the chicken and grilled vegetables. The very hungry and carb craving guest would really appreciate this and consider this a great value deal. For me the dish looked great, but was a little bit overloaded with dressing and fries. Next time I will for sure try also other bites from the menu offering a range of different cuisines.

The staff are all slow. The food is too expensive, the portions are small, and the taste is off (we've been four times to try it). There's also a lot of frozen and pre-packaged food of poor quality. You have to wait over 30 minutes just to place an order, and the same goes for paying, even after calling several times.

I have to say, Alex is one of my favorite restaurants! The burgers are always delicious, and the cakes are incredibly good too. The breakfast buffet offers a huge selection. The service is always very friendly! Plus, the atmosphere is very cozy, and you have a beautiful view of the skyline. I always love coming back!

The top floor of the department store offers a beautiful view of Frankfurt. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable, and the selection is diverse. There's something for everyone. Apart from the fact that the restrooms are located outside the store and require payment, the service is excellent.

The location itself is very nice, and the staff was very friendly. Our drinks arrived 10 minutes AFTER our food. I asked for ketchup, which didn't arrive until our plates had already been cleared. It wasn't a big deal, I'm not that picky. BUT, as you can see in the photo, serving restaurant guests such an old, limp salad—the iceberg lettuce already had brown edges, and the other leaves weren't fresh either—was quite inappropriate.

Service: The staff is super friendly and attentive, but there's still room for improvement. Our order was taken quickly, and any questions were answered politely and without any problems. However, after the food was served, hardly anyone checked if everything was alright or if we needed anything else. They could definitely fine-tune this a bit to round out the experience. Food: The food was decent – ​​nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Unfortunately, the temperature of the food wasn't ideal: For three people, it ranged from cold to lukewarm. This definitely needs improvement. Atmosphere: When it's full, it can get a bit hectic, but overall it's a nice restaurant to take a short break and grab a drink or a bite to eat.

The breakfast buffet was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. :) It was also pleasantly quiet here on a Friday morning at 9 a.m. However, you should definitely make a reservation on weekends and for groups larger than two. :)

Super delicious food , amazing ways of serving and great atmosphere inside the restaurant.. had steak 🥩 and chicken karage bowl , good position and super delicious.. also must try their Hot lemon matcha honey drink .. no words to explain .. and of course a cool Becks green lemon winter beer if you are in the season !

A very long wait! We wanted a quick coffee. Unfortunately, it took more than 30 minutes from ordering to receiving the coffee. Sorry, that's unacceptable. It wasn't very busy. The table next to us also ordered about ten minutes after us, including their food. We received our orders at the same time. The atmosphere is typical Alex. You feel at ease. The view of the Zeil is beautiful.

Terrible service. The burger was brought to me without gloves, and after it was served, I had to wait more than 15 minutes for my cocktail. The server clearly gives preference to guests who order more. One more thing about the food: The burger is on par with a Big Mac. 🙂👍

ALEX Frankfurt MyZeil makes a good first impression. The food selection is generally decent, the prices are fair, and the staff are very friendly. However, it was disappointing that they didn't serve pancakes, even though you'd expect them to be based on the pictures and website. This creates a false impression, which somewhat dampened the experience.

We were at Alex my Zeil, and unfortunately, our visit to the restaurant was very disappointing. The staff were rude, unfriendly, and disrespectful to us. We didn't feel welcome as guests. For us, friendliness and good service are essential to a restaurant visit, but that was unfortunately not the case here. We will therefore not be returning and cannot recommend the restaurant. And by that, I mean all the staff, of course, not just the staff member! Apart from that, I have to be honest, the food was very tasty.

I was here with friends for breakfast. We had a reservation and were quickly seated by a friendly staff member. From then on, the service was rather mediocre. One of us arrived a little late, so we initially only ordered drinks: two lattes, one with Baileys (alcoholic), and one with syrup. Then it felt like forever for them to arrive (even though it wasn't that busy at that time). One coffee was studded with a wooden shish kebab skewer, and yet they had mixed them up. It can happen, no big deal. But from then on, it was as if we were invisible. People who came after us were constantly served, waiters passed us by without even a glance. So we had to call the waiter when our latecomer arrived. No one came to us on their own. And apparently, there's only one card machine. We paid separately by card; our colleague had barely been with us for a second with the card machine when his colleague chimed in and asked if he would need the machine for much longer. A bit rude, but maybe it's just me. The coffee and breakfast were good, but the service needs some serious work!

The food was tasty (we had schnitzel and Korean BBQ chicken), though portions leaned a bit too much on potatoes. Service was excellent — polite, considerate, and very attentive.

Service was friendly, food was delicious, and drinks were constantly refilled. Con: incorrect information on the menu. Lemon spritzer was advertised with fresh lemon, but it actually used concentrate. Almost €6 for 0.5 l is simply too expensive for that. It wasn't possible to find a goodwill solution, such as a price reduction. Take and pay or stay thirsty was the only option. It could be better!!!

Dishes are usually good and delicious. But I have tried the new Lachs Spinach Lasagne, wasn’t good at all!

My partner went there on 14/08 for lunch. The waitress took awhile to ask for her order and when it did come the green tea split on my partner and caused burns to her legs. No one asked if she needed paper towels to help her clean herself. She then went to ask a waitress and the waitress ignored her even though she was saying "excuse me" repeatedly whilst standing 10 cm away from her. The staff here really need to be replaced or trained better as they are terrible. The Caesar salad also had no chicken in because they probably can't afford to put chicken in. Avoid!

I went there with my friend. Both the food and the drinks (especially the Spaten beer) were delicious. The service was also excellent. Very friendly servers. The kitchen is visible to all customers, which is a big plus for me personally.

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with the service. The waiter was inattentive and uninspired. Our order—just two cocktails—took over 40 minutes to arrive. When we wanted to pay, we called, but after 30 minutes, no one had come. Only after we asked a second time did the waiter not respond, but instead began clearing other tables, ignoring us. Such behavior is disappointing and not what one should expect from good service.

This place gave us an experience we’ll never forget — and not in a good way! We came with our kids and, being in a food court in a shopping center(yes, a food court!), we thought it would be fine for part of the family to eat from one place and part from another. Pretty standard in Europe, right? Especially in Finland, where we live. We ordered a cheeseburger and fish sticks here, while another family members got noodles from the next-door café. The waitress told us it wasn’t allowed, but then said, “Just this once.” we appreciated the flexibility. Great — or so we thought. A little later, a man (someone from stuff, he did not tell his name or status)stormed over, raised his voice in front of our children, and told us to get out and never come back, because of the food ordered from the next door place by 2 members of our family. 2 other members of the family ordered a food in Alex café. And as a small reminder we got a permission from the waitress earlier.He even grabbed a plate from a child. No matter what your house rules are — this was just unacceptable. We are the experienced travellers and have visited a lot of European countries, but we've never got such an attitude and service towards customers , especially with children. And the kicker? The food wasn’t even good. Next time we’ll stick to the noodles. At least they come with kindness, not shouting.

We went for Sunday brunch and were very satisfied. For the price, there was a really wide selection and the quality was absolutely fine. You just have to keep in mind that the price of €20.90 without drinks is very fair. You can't expect great food, and it's also quite clear that convenience foods are involved. The cold buffet was a bit better than the hot dishes in my opinion, but there really is something for everyone. The reserved seat by the window was great, and the service was quick and friendly. We were satisfied and full! I would do it again anytime.

We visited this restaurant on July 24th. We ordered a cocktail and ice cream for my pregnant wife. The drinks were of high quality and very carefully prepared – highly recommended. The ice cream was also delicious. We would especially like to emphasize the excellent service. Although our bill was rather small, we were served with great attention. Our waiter, Aset, truly impressed us with his friendliness, sensitivity, and care. Such service is rare these days! We felt very comfortable and would definitely come back. When we found a seat, we were already being stared at, and we had to wait a really long time for our order to be taken. The table was still dirty and wasn't cleaned until our drinks arrived. Our favorite place for years! My boyfriend and I have been coming here regularly for three years and are always extremely satisfied. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff is just incredibly friendly. You feel truly welcome here. The servers are always cheerful and attentive – you don't find that everywhere! To be honest: This is no comparison to Alex in the NordWestZentrum. It was quite a disappointment for us there – but here, everything is just perfect. Kudos to the entire team and the owner – you're doing a really great job! One small wish: Air conditioning would be really nice, especially in the summer. Otherwise, keep up the good work!

One Saturday, we wanted a quick drink. We were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We then wanted to sit at a table by the window. The wait staff did everything they could to prevent us from doing so. We took a table that was actually reserved, but there was still an hour until the reservation time. A second waiter informed us that we could only sit there for 45 minutes. After ordering, it took about 20 minutes for the first drink to arrive. Attempts to alert someone that we were waiting failed. After 45 minutes, someone came, apologized, promised to take care of it, and left. Nothing happened. It took the fourth person (a waitress on a shift change) to take care of the order, and by then, about 65 minutes had passed. In my opinion, this was a poor reflection on management.

The ambiance is nice and tidy, but the service and service processes are really poor. After ordering, we waited 20 minutes until the young man came and said they didn't have any ice cream/weapons. Then we ordered cake... cheese and carrot cake. The cheesecake arrived after another 15 minutes of waiting. When we asked where the carrot cake was, we were told they were out. We weren't even asked if we wanted to order something else. The waiters stand and walk around without even saying "hello," thank you, or "bye." Take "Alex Skyline Platz" as an example.

Unfortunately, our visit was disappointing – particularly due to the poor staff hygiene. It's completely incomprehensible that some employees smelled so strongly of sweat that the odor could be detected from several meters away. Such conditions unfortunately cast a very negative light on the entire restaurant. Hygiene – especially in the catering industry – should be a top priority.

The food is way too small and way too expensive! The service is terrible, and they take an incredibly long time for everything, and you have to pay extra for everything, like mayo and ketchup.

Excellent food, and it comes out very quickly..... if you can manage to order. There are 6 tables with customers and 4 staff on the floor and it is virtually impossible to get their attention to get seated, to order, or to get more drinks. Also, you have to pay for the bathrooms which look nice but the toilets are not clean and there was no soap in the dispensers.

We were there today, May 9, 2025, and arrived at the table at 4:30 p.m. which was still full of dishes from the customers in front of us! We sat for about 30 minutes without being spoken to or even clearing the table, let alone wiping it. My wife had to call the waitress to the table to place our order (two lattes macchiato and a piece of cheesecake). The waitress didn't even think it was necessary to clear the table straight away. The lady then continued to serve customers before clearing the table. In the meantime, we waited another half an hour for our order before I left the restaurant 6 tables of about 30 occupied so there was nothing going on! You can learn a lesson from your colleagues in Kassel, they were in a much better mood the first and last time I was at the Alex in Frankfurt in the Myzeil

The ALEX Frankfurt MyZeil is located in the food court of the MyZeil shopping center on the top floor. The view of the city is very good. The food came super quickly and was very tasty. Unfortunately the drinks only came after the food had already been eaten. The waiter politely apologized. There was really a lot going on right now. Gladly again.

We went there for dinner for the first time today with four people. Right from the start, when we entered the restaurant and looked around for a free table, we were greeted quite unfriendly. No greeting, just sit down, someone will come soon. The service staff seemed unmotivated. The restaurant was normally busy. Only a few tables were occupied. After ordering the drinks, we were allowed to help ourselves to the breakfast buffet. The offer was quite large but far too expensive. We ordered another coffee, which was only brought after we asked several times. When we wanted the bill and there was no service staff in sight, we looked for a service staff in the restaurant. The one colleague who was quite unfriendly at the beginning then repeatedly told me in an unpleasant tone that I should sit down and that my colleague would be there shortly. After we left, we decided not to go there again. In my opinion, the staff should be trained in dealing with guests.

The service was a disaster. It took forever for our order to be taken. The food was ready for a long time on the pass, but was simply ignored - when it finally came, it was only lukewarm. The drinks arrived a full 40 minutes later. Something like this is completely unacceptable. An absolute disappointment for a restaurant of this type.

Four of us were at ALEX in the MyZeil Center. The shop was busy, but also quite loud and restless - not a relaxing stay. We all ordered drinks and two of us also ordered something to eat. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't arrive at the same time: Matcha Latte, Pink Superfood Latte, the ALEX Tropico and the raspberry-peach iced tea were brought at a different time, which seemed a bit uncoordinated. The food – an ALEX pastrami sandwich and the Ugly Butchers burger – was rather average in taste. It was okay, but nothing to remember. Overall: not a complete failure, but not a highlight either. Okay for a short stop, but not a must.

We've eaten here a few times because we like the atmosphere and the location is very central. The food is solid, quite tasty, basically what you would expect from a restaurant like this. The prices are rather high, but still reasonable. But what is really very bad is the service and service processes. Our waitress gave the impression that we were really bothering her with our presence. No hello, no thank you, really nothing. The food came immediately after a few minutes, the drinks took a long time to arrive. There seem to be general problems with the service process. In any case, I think it's good to have my drink during the meal and not after. We were then completely ignored and it took three attempts, some of them in vain, until we finally received the bill. I would like to note that the restaurant was normally busy, so it was not an exceptional situation and that we have noticed something similar in previous visits, but never to this extent.

Mixed experiences! I actually enjoy being a guest in this restaurant and have always received friendly and courteous service. Unfortunately, my friend and I had an unpleasant experience on our last visit. A waitress treated us surprisingly rudely and made us feel unwelcome, even though we were polite and respectful to her. She looked at us unfriendly throughout, and her tone of voice seemed listless and disinterested. This was particularly disappointing as we have always found the service from the rest of the team to be very pleasant. I hope that this is an isolated case and that we can experience the usual hospitality again on our next visit.

Service is probably overwhelmed today. The order was taken and from that moment on things went downhill. The food comes to the table really lukewarm. We ask when the drinks will come. . . Answer: When you're ready... in the meantime we had a complaint about a sandwich and instead of saying sorry they said this is how it's done and this is the consistency and it's done. That's not how you talk to customers and we're out for now. We don't get any attention anymore, no one asks if we want something to drink or if we want dessert. It's a shame, but the service is not what you expect.

Food was okay. However, something went wrong. The drinks were at the counter for a solid 15 minutes and were not brought to our table. 2 minutes later the food came. Half of the fries were lost here because the waiter held the plate at an angle. In terms of price, this is already on a higher level; there are much cheaper alternatives. Anyway, the iced tea was okay. The service was friendly. I hope that things will be a little better on the next visit :)

Solid restaurant, have different cuisines (Asian, Italian, etc.) the atmosphere is inviting. The food tasted good, nothing to complain about, we were in a hurry and asked for the bill several times. It took more than +10 minutes and the waitress wasn't busy with anything else, we could see that, I have no understanding for that.

The interior is beautiful and the food was good overall, but the red-haired female waitress was really rude. She ruined our beautiful Friday. 🧑🏻‍🦰We made a reservation at 11 and sat down, but the buffet was until 12, and even after a few minutes, they didn't come to take our order, so I was anxious because there wasn't much time left for the meal. All the waitresses just looked at us and always went to take our orders at other tables. I felt like they were deliberately ignoring us, so when I raised my hand, she yelled at me, "I'm working, why are you raising your hand? Wait!!" The red-haired female waitress was very emotional with the customer. When she yelled at us, all the customers at other tables looked at us. We felt very insulted, humiliated, and ashamed. It's been 7 hours since I ate, but I still feel insulted and ashamed about this situation. I'm really grateful to you for hurting my feelings.

The MyZeil shopping center is not beautiful in itself, but the ALEX ambience in the building is still completely fine. It's a shame that there is no outside terrace, but that is due to the building itself. The cake I chose and the Aperol Spritz tasted good, and the staff member who looked after our table was very nice and friendly. We were absolutely satisfied.
