Wow, that's a quiche! I rarely complain when a portion is too big, but this one was simply AMAZING! Way too much! The three of us were easily satisfied with this fantastic quiche, and we had the rest packed up. AND ALL FOR ONLY 12 EUROS!!!

We had a lovely morning at the breakfast buffet at Alex. It was my mother's birthday, and she was surprised with a piece of cake by our lovely waiter, Ali. Ali was very kind and attentive throughout our visit. There's also a small play area for toddlers.

The staff at this café are very rude and disrespectful. The Asian employee, in particular, tries to get positive reviews in exchange for free drinks. His colleague, Jessica, is arrogant and treats customers condescendingly. The café management should definitely investigate this behavior.

We went to Alex for brunch as part of a family get-together. Tim looked after us, and we thought it was fantastic. The brunch buffet was huge and left nothing to be desired. Everything was fresh and delicious, the service was great, and the brunch was very relaxed. This is what makes dining out enjoyable, and we thank the entire team, especially Tim and Lara. We had a really great start to the weekend today. Grandma, daughter, and grandchild. We spontaneously decided to have breakfast at Alex. We were greeted very warmly right at the entrance. Tim was incredibly kind and attentive, whether to children, couples, groups, or older customers. There were absolutely no waiting times. It's so rare to find a place where you work with such friendliness and lots of laughter. Big kudos to Tim, keep it up! It makes the food taste even better. We'll definitely be back soon. 👍😉

We spontaneously decided to have breakfast at Alex for the first time today. The atmosphere was really lovely, with a delicious buffet. But what truly stood out was the service. Our incredibly attentive and exceptionally friendly waiter, Tim, made the visit to the café worthwhile! Thanks to him, we had a wonderful time – highly recommended!

We were there on Monday morning and had booked the breakfast buffet for four people. Our group was very satisfied. Our table was well chosen, the selection of food was plentiful and varied, the food was consistently delicious, freshly prepared, and constantly replenished. Our server, Tim, was very nice, friendly, helpful, and always attentive to our needs. The same goes for the other staff members. Alex comes highly recommended; we'll definitely be back :-)

It was far too loud in the restaurant; people were shouting under the influence of alcohol. Nothing was done about it. The food wasn't particularly good either.

You don't have to wait long for the waiter; service is quick. Good selection of light meals and drinks. There is heated seating outside.

I was there today with my husband and we were served by Lara. A super friendly lady. She greeted us with a charming smile. I'd gladly come again.

We were at Alex on Sunday afternoon with a group of people. We'd been sitting outside at a table for quite a while, still covered in the previous guests' dishes. For a considerable amount of time, we were completely ignored. Eventually, the waiter came to us. No greeting or anything. We were simply told that if we wanted anything, we'd have to go inside and sit down; he couldn't keep walking around in the rain. It had rained a few drops earlier, but that had been going on for a while. So we went inside and were still ignored. It was relatively busy, so we could understand. The waiter continued to just walk past us. Eventually, we politely asked him if we could place our order. At that point, we were snapped at again, told that someone would come eventually, as we could see for ourselves that it was full. We left without ordering. A friendly tone should be the norm; if this man isn't capable of that, he's made a mistake in choosing his profession. Perhaps they should rename the place "Karen's Diner"; then at least the tone would be appropriate. We're not in Dortmund often, but now we at least know where we won't be going again.

Very busy on Saturday evening. We were lucky and found a free table right away. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Interesting menu, sounds very good. However, the cocktails we ordered took some getting used to.

Today is the first time I've had breakfast at Alex in Dortmund. I usually go to Oberhausen, so I'll say this in advance. There's a world of difference between Ob and Do... the waiters are nice, as is usual in Ob... it's clean and looks nice both inside and out. Too loud, as much as in Ob... maybe I'm too sensitive, I find Do... louder in terms of noise level. As for the food... the hot food isn't hot enough. Talk about the fried potatoes and scrambled eggs, and the hot dishes in general are too cold, the rolls taste a bit old, as if they've been sitting there for hours in the evening. I think the selection is otherwise excellent. The kitchen could check and restock more often, and the waiters could look a bit friendlier. Overall, everything's OK. I think I'm being too appealing compared to the sentence about whether... I think everything's great, with no major flaws. One or two points there, but I get warm food there, warm and not cold.... Overall, two or three points. Dortmund could do better. Otherwise, as always, Alex is a really good breakfast place for all age groups.... Best regards, Bröhl
