Food is very tasty, staff very friendly. However, without having a reservation it will be really difficult to get a table.

Great ambience, good cocktails. However, the service wasn't good - we waited forever until someone came and even after that we were hardly noticed.

The wine was not of good quality and was served at the wrong temperature. The tarte flambée was like rubber and was served almost cold.

There is no relationship between price and performance. Had the oriental salad for €15. Portion smaller than a traditional side salad. Plus bread that couldn't be identified as bread and wasn't edible. A shoe sole would have been tastier. I fully understand the increased prices, but that was really abysmal. It also charges incredibly loudly. Never again.

Top bar for having breakfast or just enjoying the time in the lofty heights of Frankfurt. We were there for breakfast. Buffet with a huge selection of all the delicacies you need for breakfast. The service is nice and friendly and always approachable. Ambiance is modern, cozy. Price wise. The bottom line is that we would love to come back.

It should be a good end to a girls' weekend. Unfortunately, it was just a real nightmare. First of all, the food was good. No less, but unfortunately no more either. The service was actually non-existent, as was the ambience. Despite reservations, we sat in the very last corner. At an incredibly small table. We ordered Sunday brunch. It was never cleared away. The plates, bowls, glasses and cups piled up on the table like the leaning tower of Pisa, ruining a leisurely breakfast. The staff was just unfriendly. If you said several times that you would like to order something, it was passed on from one person to the other, but no order was placed. Nobody came. At least not in a timely manner. After 20 minutes we received rude looks after we stopped someone. We wanted to pay straight away with our last order. Led to pure overwhelm. That was probably a sentence with x today. Return excluded.

Can't report on the food. I would have liked to eat up there but unfortunately you are not flexible enough. Breakfast lasts until 12 p.m. I was there shortly before 12 p.m. They weren't able to take the order because I didn't want breakfast, just a simple salad. They didn't reply to me until 12 p.m. Can't recommend this place before 12pm what's so hard about one Lettuce.

Food and drinks very good, tables could have been a little cleaner (sugar residue, streaks). Service has room for improvement.

Very cool rooftop atmosphere with very friendly service that is incredibly efficient. Solid burger with fried egg and eaten with very good fries and a great salad. Recommendation!

We stop by here every now and then for the breakfast buffet. There is a good selection with a great price-performance ratio.

Leider war es wichtiger alle Tische abzurufen, mehrere Tische, die nach uns kamen und Freunde des Kellners zu begrüßen und mit allen drei Kellnern gemeinsam im Entenmarsch durchs Restsurant zu laufen als uns zu bedienen. Wohlgemerkt haben wir auf uns aufmerksam gemacht. Hungrig und mit weinendem Kind sind wir wieder gegangen. Schade.

Breakfast buffet with something for everyone..

Its a great place, the stuff work fast but the food can be a bit better. Prices are ok, it would be better if it a bit cheaper. And the best thing is that the place works on Sunday and on some public holidays!

Very chaotic and loud. Service overwhelmed and careless. Some dishes are served cold. Guests' wishes are not fulfilled or are simply ignored. From 11 p.m. all doors are locked and guests have to leave the restaurant via the underground car park. Personally, it took me 15 minutes to find the exit.

Yesterday we waited at Aleks for a good half an hour to be able to place our order... unfortunately none of the numerous waitresses who walked past us took us into consideration, so we looked for another restaurant... Not good advertising... .

Very nice atmosphere. Lots of space outside, nice view of Europa-Allee from the roof terrace. Also open on Sundays. Parking lot in Skyline Plaza.

Unfortunately, our table for 12 was just one top that was placed on several round tables and was therefore wobbly. But the coffee was delicious. The breakfast buffet, at least on Saturdays, is not as extensive as you would like for just under 16 euros. Parking is now also expensive - public transport doesn't really exist yet. But still recommended as a large group.

The ALEX is always a good choice when traveling with large groups or with a variety of tastes. You can find everything in good quality, from salad to pasta to steak, so everyone will find something. The service was attentive and friendly.

Sitting on the roof terrace in summer is definitely wonderful. It's actually quite nice inside too; but also quite loud. The menu reads very well and the pictures also look very pretty. However, the taste is ok at best.

Today we went to Alex with my family and unfortunately it was an unpleasant experience. We were brought a dish that we did not order. Even though we pointed this out right away, we still had to pay for it in the end. That alone might have been manageable, but the waitress's reaction shocked us. She was extremely rude and completely unwilling to solve the problem properly. I didn't expect an experience like this at a restaurant like Alex. Unfortunately this spoiled our evening.

Unfortunately I haven't been there to eat yet. I went to see David Lloyd.

Very bad and unpleasant service, the staff want to argue and argue more than help.

Food was tasty, but more convenient than fresh. Terrace is nice in summer. It gets very loud inside due to the high ceilings. Service is friendly and prices are okay. At the breakfast buffet, sausage slices were filled with hands without gloves! That doesn't work at all... the toilets are clean but somehow totally rickety and super old and everything wobbles.

The service is excellent. Every employee always has an open ear for the guests. Whenever possible, guests' wishes are taken into account, which is not exactly easy given the large number of customers. Every employee gives their all and always has a smile for the guests.

La comida y el ambiente eran geniales! Mi esposa y yo comimos aquí al menos 4 veces (dos veces para el desayuno y dos veces para la cena). Decir que realmente disfrutamos de cada visita es un poco más de una subestimación. Estamos especialmente sorprendidos por las bajas puntuaciones de revisión. La única cosa que puedo pensar que estaría por debajo de excelente sería la velocidad de conseguir servicio... pero eso es más una cosa europea que un reflejo directo de Alex.

Very atmospheric on top of the skyline plaza. Delicious food and good cocktails and surprising soft drinks. If it is busy, you may have to sit for a while before you get something. But the service does its utmost.

All in all, quite nice, but quite a yuppie temple. Service was very nice, but a bit slow. The Sunday brunch is at the level of a normal to good hotel breakfast. I missed the brunch aspect. So with appropriate expectation management, it's ok.

Hello everyone, actually the shop isn't that bad, the view is great and the food is okay. But when I wanted to pay the bill the card reader went out even though it beeped once. I showed the waiter on the app that it had been debited and he pressured me to pay again because he said it hadn't been debited and now I'm running away from my money 3 weeks later it was supposedly supposed to be transferred back!! Emails were not answered properly and there was no apology from the waiter either.

What a bad shop. 10 people at the table received their food at the same time, two orders were squandered. And the service staff plays dumb. Thank you never again Alex

I had their berry smoothie while my friends had full menu dinner. The food was great and the vibe was even better. Sitting in the terrace was amazing!

Brunch was absolutely ok, the cappuccino was unfortunately cold, very well attended, but there was still plenty of food available, the location was of course absolutely great

Uncomplicated for breakfast and nice ambience. It's a shame that they haven't gotten around to offering halal food yet, while almost all of the restaurants in the Skyline Plaza itself are halal.

Unfortunately, it was a complete failure. We made reservations by phone 3 days in advance for the daughter's 18th birthday and the other daughter's graduation and came as a closed company No rejections on your part and when you got there, no accommodation from the management, simply brushed off, completely unfriendly and unprofessional Yes, they sort it out internally, the colleague gets hit on the lid and that’s it Very poor management regarding customer is king and customer loyalty

Alex is always recommended, no question about it. Whether it's the breakfast buffet, lunch or a nice evening meal, it's always a good choice. Highly recommended

Food is very little. You won't get full here The reason given by the waitress was that the location is so expensive and therefore you have to save money here…. Unbelievable 🤯

I want to start by saying the food was excellent and the staff where trying there best. It goes downhill now. It took 10 minutes to be seated, and after 15 mins we had to go to the bar to find a member of staff. It took another 15 minutes to get our drinks, before another 25 minutes for the food, which again was delicious. It would appear from the photo attached and our experience they are extremely understaffed. It’s a shame, our one night in Frankfurt and not a great experience. IF I return, I will NOT be revisiting this establishment.

Typical Alex, everything as usual without much fancy. Fast conditions, generous quantities of drinks, wheat beer on tap. Great roof terrace. I would be happy to come back.

Been here several times. At first a great impression, the ambient is nice, the view also. A lot of choices on the menu. However, every single time we need to nearly beg for service, sometimes over 20 min goes by before we are even asked for drinks. Once even the table next to us was trying to help us flag a waiter seeing our failed attempts. Unfortunately not a one-time thing and therefore we won’t be coming back. A pity since it has great potential.

Actually everything was great. Rich and delicious breakfast buffet, but unfortunately we had to wait about 40 minutes for our drinks.

City trip started with breakfast at “Alex” in the Frankfurt Skyline Plaza. Clean, tidy, modern - we had reserved online the evening before - it was 👍 Breakfast buffet more than sufficient - large selection: sausage/cheese/salmon, various cream cheese, jams, salads, eggs, vegetables, rolls, breads, sweet pastries, muesli. Ojuice is included for free, milk/quark for muesli. Other drinks such as cafe and tea are exclusive. Service friendly & accommodating, food tastes good, atmosphere great! Therefore 5 ☆ from me! From the café you can take a staircase to a small viewing platform - free of charge!

We were served drinks with wasps. In addition, after asking three times whether the food was really vegan, we were served shrimp dumplings instead of the vegan dumplings. We then had a medical emergency not because of the food but because of the stuffy air in the room. The only positive thing was that an employee helped us a lot in an emergency! That was my experience for a 60 euro meal for 2 people.

40€ for a breakfast with extra slow (45 mins to order drinks) and careless service and wasps. 🐝🐝🐝 Many seats outside are not covered from the sun. The wasps are everywhere, it’s really dangerous to eat there. The tables are dirty, especially the ones closer to the bushes. The waitress who covered that area didn’t clean them at all. She didn’t take our orders either. We had to move to another tables three times due to the wasps. When we were about to finish, another waitress finally asked us about our order. In total, we waited 45 mins just to order drinks. The food was tasty, but not so many vegetarian or vegan options and lack of milk alternatives for the cereal. I don’t recommend this place.

Went there for the buffet breakfast on a Saturday. Vibe: oh boy, expect to share your food with the hundreds of wasps flying over you and your food & drinks, the whole place is infested with them. Nothing more relaxing than trying to enjoy your breakfast constantly worried that a wasp is gonna sting you... saw a few ladies screaming when they were surronunded by them. As concerned clients we should all help organize a donation campagin so poor Alex can afford pest control... Service: while enjoying the company of our flying friends, we tried to get the attention of a blonde waitress who didn't seem to care. Her only interaction with us was complaining when we changed places because some tables outside weren't properly protected from the sun (in summer). Despite her not concerning herself with taking orders, she didn't have extra time to clean the tables either: most of them were piling up with plates, glasses, food and insects/birds. After 45ish minutes, we moved again to another area escaping the heat and the wasps, so finally a more competent lady was able to take our order. Food: good variety, overall good quality but veggies weren't the freshest. This was still the highlight of our experience there, and kind of expecte fo the price range.

So I’m gonna no recommend this restaurant to spend your time for chilling or more then to say a street cafe am Dach In Frankfurt. I was completely frustrated with food and drinks, lack of the service ( I waited about 15 to order just a drink and snacks), one tissue with cutlery… So I ordered a bruschetta for 6€ and a season spritz drink Which was diluted with water than prosecco and liquor….and bruschetta was completely awful…small cracker with tasteless grocery tomato’s and olive oil, so that’s you call a restaurant on the roof? It's not tasty, even the alcohol is diluted, there's nothing that I recommend for relaxing and brunch.

Yesterday we were in Frankfurt again for a long time. We chose the Alex as we loved the ambience at first glance as there is a roof terrace and it was very hot yesterday. That was the first impression. When we entered the restaurant we were first looked at. I had to specifically ask for a place on the terrace; if the “waitress” had had her way, she would definitely have seated us somewhere else. To the actual review: The seating outside is unsuitable for older or small people. The “service” was very unfriendly from the first to the last contact. The way she spoke to us was more pub level, so not in line with the prices! I had a cappuccino that I had to wait forever for, when I asked I was yelled at, the "colleague" would still need it, she hadn't forgotten it. When I said that I wasn't accusing her of that, she got really snappy. At some point the windows went up from the terrace. When I asked why that was the case and whether they would be opened again because it was unbearably hot, I was rudely told "we're already open again". My daughter had to go to the toilet, asked politely, was left standing without an answer. When she asked, she was given a card and the word "Starbucks" was thrown at her. My daughter is 11 and we don't know our way around the Zeilcenter. At the end it was time to pay, I had pasta with dried tomatoes and a chicken fillet (which cost an extra €4), my daughter had a burger with fries (fries not included in the price, cost another €3.50 extra) and water, which was everything "popular" orange juice (bile bitters) a cappuccino. In total we paid €51. I paid, the "waitress" turned around without a word and left! We also have an Alex in Saarbrücken! That's why and because we always like going there, we actually chose this restaurant. Bad mistake! Never again! If you could give minus stars for the service, it would be minus 10! I would suggest a job change to the black-haired, tattooed lady who served at Alex yesterday on August 7th, 2024. Or you can get proper training from management on how to deal with customers and service!

Nice place to relax and have a drink

Been there several times and always very satisfied. Food is very tasty. I recommend that you reserve a table in advance as it is already busy.

We waited about 35 minutes for the waiter to come over to place our order! We approached the waiters several times ourselves and they just said, “Wait 2 minutes.” And all of them. For some reason they served the rest of the customers. In the end we just left. What kind of service is this anyway?!

Good place to hang out during the day or evening with nice indoor and outdoor seating options. Location: huge place located on top of the skyline plaza with well over 200 seats both inside and outside. Food/drinks: food is decent but not great. Prices are acceptable for the area and size. Drinks are very good and prices for those are good/ very good Service: can get full and wait times can get long . Generally decent service but don’t expect polished first class service there

Very nice place, were there last Sunday. A little crowded but you could still get a seat without a reservation. The buffet is manageable, there are also warm dishes for lunch, but there is something for everyone.

Mit Freunden und Familie waren wir beim Sonntags Brunch im Alex und man muss sagen der brunch war super lecker mit einer sehr großen Auswahl. Auch das Personal ist super freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend und was wir als sehr positiv empfunden haben war das dass das Personal sehr aufmerksam war und Bestellungen schnell entgegen genommen wurden und auch immer leere Gläser bzw. Teller zeitnah abgeräumt wurden, obwohl das Lokal als auch die Terrasse Voll mit Gästen war. Einfach tolle Atmosphäre.

Ambiance and service are great. Unfortunately the food is just convenience. That's why I don't go to the restaurant. And fried potatoes that are paler than boiled potatoes do not deserve this name. The shop is ok for ending the evening with a drink, but for everything else you can satisfy your hunger cheaper downstairs in the food court.

After reserving a table for 8 to watch the European Championship football final, we arrive and they tell us they don't even have a TV. The staff at Alex Skyline Plaza told us they didn't have a TV. It's embarrassing

I see a lot of reviews about the servers, ours was great. The waiters are running around, are proactive and professional, if they seem overwhelmed to you it is up to their boss to manage, they are employees not managers. Courage to them. Fast service. Regarding the cocktail, very good and fresh, I might have just added less sugar (according to my taste). See you soon.
