In the middle of the market. In the middle of the city. Central connections to bus and train. It doesn't get any better. Ambience excellent. Real feel-good character where young people meet. Extensive menu of both food and drinks. Freshness is a concept and is lovingly implemented. The eyes eat the food. Perfect. Definitely worth more than a recommendation.

The food was really tasty and the service was friendly and quick. But unfortunately these experiences cannot be put into words what happens here in the toilets. First there were 3 guys doing a line in the toilet and one of them puked in the toilet and the second time you heard 2 guys loudly in the toilet masturbating themselves orally. Food great but toilets not recommended Overall 3 stars :)

Very very good. We were a large group and had a lot of space. We had the appointment for Sunday brunch for a long time. The food was always fresh and a great selection of cold and warm dishes. The range of drinks was also great. We will definitely come back here.

We were there on a Friday evening, it was really so full and you could see that it was very stressful, but we were served quickly and got a seat. The drinks were taken quickly and the staff were really very friendly.

Why are the burgers served in a cold patty? Initially had the burger returned and received a completely new burger. Great praise for that but it was also cold. Only the meat was warm. Why are you doing this?

Were there for dinner yesterday with 7 people. Nice ambience, very nice service, exceptional food! The three of us were there again today for lunch - again very tasty!

The food was delicious. The service was also good and nice. But what is not possible are cobwebs, dust and dirt on the walls and on the lamps on the wall. Luckily I didn't see it until after dinner. Otherwise I wouldn't have eaten anything. I think a complete renovation would be good here.

They dont know what a Martini is. I saw that they offer Espresso Martinis so I asked them for a regular Dry Gin Martini with an olive. Waitress said they dont have it, that they only offer Martini Blanco. So I explained to her that it's just gin with that dry vermouth. She came back to say they dont have olives... no problem, I take it with a twist, but I should have know that I shouldn't expect much. She came back with just the dry vermouth. I spoke to another waitress that this is not a Martini and explained to her what a martini is. She said that they dont have vermouth. Say what??? But fortunately they took it back and I just ordered a red wine instead, which was really good. They took it of the bill, but the service crippled to non-existent and I could see them talk about us with judging ugly faces. Its bizarre that places like this dont know one of the most popular cocktails.

I usually find ALEX very good, the selection of food and drinks, the ambience. Unfortunately, there is such a noise level in ALEX Chemnitz, especially in the evenings, that it is very difficult to talk to the person sitting next to you or even to communicate with the waiters. We left immediately after dinner because it was so tiring. Perhaps this is also intended so that the next guests will find a place again. Soundproofing measures would be advisable.

Wonderful breakfast buffet with everything I wanted. Friendly and personable service. Nice cozy atmosphere and nice outdoor sun spots. And by the way, a really delicious chai latte. Thank you for the wonderful time with you!

Unfortunately, my Asian chicken burger was partially raw and the burger didn't really taste Asian. The cocktails are very good. The acai smoothie cocktail was really tasty. The New York sour takes a little getting used to, but the espresso martini was very good. Probably not again for cocktails or for food.

Now a few more words about the well-deserved 5 stars. But there isn't much more to say. The selection of food is very varied but not too much. Everyone enjoyed it very much. The ambience is certainly not for everyone, but we definitely liked it very much. What is striking, which is unfortunately no longer standard, is a very attentive, friendly service. In other words, see you again.

I like the store, simply because the employees there are always in a good mood! The food is quite good, but at least when it comes to the burgers it could be better. I'm not a fan of the burger buns, they're... There is also a good selection of drinks and desserts😌 Some of the prices are reasonable, but the selection of food is also large. The restaurant is quite cozy and there is also an outdoor terrace😊

We were there on Sunday afternoon without a reservation. Despite the full house, we were quickly assigned a table. The service was great, as were the drinks (we didn't eat). What we didn't like was the noise in general and the toilet door slamming very loudly. Very annoying for everyone sitting in that area. Maybe you could turn it down again ;-)

The Alex fluctuates every few years in terms of the quality of the food. For some time now we have been very satisfied again and often come here because it's easy to sit together and let the Chemnitz flair work its magic on you and of course it tastes good. The service is great, all the employees do a great job. Sometimes it gets pretty crowded and you can hardly understand your own words, but all in all we like being there.

I've been visiting Alex for years and have never been disappointed. The food and drinks are absolutely okay for the price and the quality is appropriate. From brunch, to a cocktail evening, or just a cozy get-together, Alex can offer it all. In summer there are also many tables outside and even in winter, diehards can sit outside under the hot lights. The service is good so far and I haven't had any reason to complain so far. Last but not least, the toilets are clean and tidy and complete the really good overall picture. I therefore clearly recommend Alex and I look forward to my next visit there.

Very tasty food and very nice staff. It was a very nice evening here. The only drawback was that the places facing the market were very busy, as many guests did not use the entrance but simply walked in at the guest tables.

It's actually a great restaurant, but the toilets are terrible. Dirty, partly broken, doors can't be locked, etc. Not possible at all. With a shop that is running so well, you are clearly making savings in the wrong place. Feedback was accepted by the Alex team and implemented relatively quickly. Now it fits👍

We had dinner on a Friday evening and we enjoyed it. The atmosphere outside in the middle of downtown Chemnitz was also good. Only the juices had a little syrup, which only tasted like water. For €6 per drink, this is absolutely not recommended. But the staff then added syrup and everything was fine. The staff in general was nice, just very stressed, which you have to accept as a guest on a Friday evening with pleasant temperatures and nice weather. So all in all it was a lovely evening with great food and a lovely atmosphere.

I always like to go to ALEX when I'm in Chemnitz. Very friendly service and good food for system catering. Even if you have special requests, we try to fulfill them as much as possible. Breakfast is served 7 days a week in a buffet version with everything your heart desires and we always make sure nothing is missing. Children and dogs are no problem either! I can recommend the ALEX in Chemnitz with a clear conscience!

You are completely ignored by the staff, so I can't rate the food/drinks.

The chance visit to this café on a Saturday afternoon was worth it: we still got a decent table without making a reservation, the service was attentive, and the coffee, ice cream and cake were exactly what we wanted.

Very tasty food, great service, large selection on the menu. Waitress Nele was particularly noteworthy: upon request, I was given a delicious coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Very appreciative of the customer. We'll be back ✌🏻

The start to brunch was good, the selection was good. However, the quality and filling left a lot to be desired. The warm part for lunch arrived early and was logically cold. Things can only get better. Eating out normally is good and tasteful.

So the food only gets 2 stars because I really wonder why there are 7 cloves of garlic in a pasta. So far, everything we've eaten has been lukewarm and small portions. Otherwise, drinks and breakfast are all great. 👍🏼

Staff at Alex always tries to protect its ruinous reputation :-) Simply terrible service without any level of skill, as is so often the case. People are tough now. :-)

I can't say anything negative. Whether it's real meals or an ice cream sundae, it's always tasty. The waitresses are friendly and the prices are completely ok. Lately I've been going there a lot for brunch with a friend. For little money you can have AYCE here. We think it's great and the regular retreat is now part of our routine.

So the service was good and friendly, the drinks came quickly and the food was ready fairly quickly. The ambience is nice, we're going to the wine festival now, the view isn't that great but generally when the market square is free and the sun is shining, it's a nice place to linger. The food was delicious, but the curry sauce was strange, not homemade, and we both had to go to the toilet immediately afterwards! So thin, was pre-programmed. The currywurst was also a bit in my stomach. The cappuccino was not good, not comparable to real Italian standards. My companion enjoyed the “latte”, but personally I don’t think it’s good and the prices are exorbitant! Espresso 3.30€!? Crass had an espresso on Lake Garda last week for €1.30 and it tasted good too. So quality and price/performance are no longer right here. I'm really disappointed and think it's a shame that the catering industry here has declined so much. And no WiFi for guests is really bad. I won't be visiting the place again anytime soon unless I need to use the toilet, which was clean and well maintained.

On a warm summer evening, the four of us spontaneously got a table and were well served. The food itself was absolutely delicious. But compared to the last visit, which was some time ago, the portions were very small, but the price was very high. We were all disappointed and not full. It's a shame that it has faded so much.

We came to ALEX on a warm Saturday afternoon for some food and drinks. The service was, as usual for ALEX, rather mediocre, but that's nothing new. Our operator later was better and attentive. The food tasted good (ALEX standard), but the women's toilets were terrible. It smelled of urine, there was no toilet paper, some of the toilet seats were crooked and one of the taps was broken and dripping. Well, generally got what I expected, but the toilets are a bit disappointing.

Price-performance was okay. Our waitress was great, super committed!

I recently visited Alex Restaurant and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is both elegant and cozy, perfect for a relaxed evening. The service was outstanding – attentive, friendly and competent. The meal was a delight. Every dish was lovingly prepared and tasted delicious. The house specialties are particularly recommended, as they are not only impressive in terms of taste but also visually. The price-performance ratio is also excellent. For the quality and service you get here, the prices are more than reasonable. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Alex Restaurant and can only warmly recommend it

Went for brunch today, the food is varied and always available and above all it tastes good. The employees try very hard to fulfill all wishes quickly. Thumbs up for that. We particularly liked the atmosphere, no queuing at the buffet, comfortable seats. Keep it up!!

According to the Google Maps reviews - €10 to €20 - we went to Alex's for lunch. When we got here, we really seriously considered whether we would go again... the prices are really steep. Luckily the food was delicious. But with prices like that we won't come here anymore.

A wonderful place in the heart of Chemnitz. Excellent service, the waiter recommended trying FLAMMKUCHEN (a German-French version of pizza) and FRIED PIZZA ROLLS (something vaguely reminiscent of belyashi) and local beer. We were pleased with both the food and the view of the new town hall. I recommend!

The breakfast buffet is a dream, which is why you always have to introduce yourself in good time, otherwise it looks bad. Unfortunately, it's always too "loud" for me, which has something of a train station atmosphere and somewhat ruins the otherwise great impression. A visit is still always worth it, as you are rewarded with the food and the friendly staff.

Very tasty food, the service was satisfactory. The ambience wasn't great because the seating outside wasn't that nice. You are always stared at and sometimes threatened by looks and comments from professionals.
